Hahah! Yes, and this will lead us to success! I'll definitely be here throughout the event because I have a lot of pies to earn if I want to be able to buy multiple sets of the EIs.

How did you come up with the idea for this hangout - why the macabre and morbid?

Hai, perhaps it will work ^^

I choose the macabre and morbid because I am utterly intrigued by it and how people react to it. I adore and embrace all the dark and disturbing things polite society turns they heads from. I know I'm not the only one out there, for everyone has some sort of attraction to it, weather they admit it or not. It's just a part of the human psyche to be curious about things that they know little about and/or are repulsed by.

I personally have read many books and watched tons of documentaries on everything from Alchemy to Vodun "Zombies". I just can't get enough of it all. The fact and fiction revolving around it is just too much for me to ignore! Ah, forgive me, I am rambling now.

That's really awesome. Do you read any sort of horror novels? I think you might like Poppy Z. Brite's work.

I adore horror novels, but I cannot say I am familiar with that author. What books did they write?

A list of works by Poppy Z. Brite

I would recommend Lost Souls and Wormwood. Those are the two that I remember best and I really enjoyed reading them. It's been a while since I've picked them up, however. Maybe it's time for a re-reading of her works!

Are there any horror novels that you would recommend?

Good evening, Divine, and if you do not mind a bit of flattery, I must say that is exactly how you look. I like the simple theme of your avatar.

Unfortunately, I am about to leave for a bit. I shall have to continue all discussion later, gomen ne.

I do believe that is the case most places. But quite a few people just don't know what to do, especially those in a city.

I will be going soon, as well.

I know, but there are parks, and places to hang out that don't require an arm and a leg. Or even just a pinky toe. And there are always books.
I will be going, as well.

I have returned once more.

You are quite welcome, Divine. I can't wait to see the finished avatar ^^

Lore: I read the wiki pages on them and they do sound fantastic, I shall have to find them at the library. As for novels I have enjoyed, I love the classics: Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Poe's works and such. However, I do like Anne Rice's works and I have recently read the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series by Laural K. Hamilton. However, the quality of that series does decline at about the tenth book, in my opinion, at least.

I have not read the Anita Blake series, although I have heard good things about it, but I have almost all of Anne Rice's books upstairs on my shelves. :D I also enjoy the works of Poe and the original Dracula.

I would definitely recommend Anita Blake, it's a fun read, though it can be quite intense. I still have not read all of the Anne Rice books, but I plan to as soon as I locate the rest of them. Poe is my favorite for casual reading, just something to take a time out from the other books I am reading at the time.

Since we are on the topic of books, I'll have you know that I am quite the collector of old ones. I have many poetry books, some of them dating back into the 1800s! ^^

Oh my! I have an older edition of the Red Fairy Book that's in not so great condition that I found in an antique store. I really love the smell of older books; it's intoxicating.

Red Fairy Book, by Andrew Lang? Oh, I envy you! What year was your copy published? The Red Fairy Book originally was printed in 1890, I think.

Hai, it is one of my favorite smells. I also love the feel of them, the worn covers and the softness of the pages. I could spend years surrounded by just them and be perfectly content. ^^

Oh, I don't know! I'd have to go look but the little one is asleep in my lap and I can't get up without disturbing him. I'll make sure to check tomorrow and get back to you on that, KageShio. Not many people know what I'm talking about when I mention that book! I was surprised that you did and probably shouldn't have been surprised.
