It's the easiest instrument to teach yourself with zero musical talent. Just get a beginners book and teach yourself. At least you know sight reading and rhythm, that makes it so much easier.

@Nesseh; Well You got lucky I suppose. I got a pop up asking me to pick another team. Its a clever method to make all the team balanced.

Oz: You can switch teams if you want. At least I'm pretty sure you're allowed to. Try and see if it works. ;D We do try to keep the teams balanced, but spots will open up so you can switch. :D

:D I've been teaching myself guitar for about a year now.
I took lessons for a bit, but they cost too much money.

I so wish I could learn piano or violin. Are they tough to teach yourself?

On the topic of instruments... I'm attempting to teach myself to play the harp and panpipes. x_X It's not working well- The harp is a beginner's lap harp with no introduction on how to play, just a bunch of music sheets, and my pipes are the two row type, but with an extra three pipes tacked on. DX

My own sining is going badly, I sound like a dying beast from the deep, dark, and frightening woods when I sing, but I'm offering encouragement. ;D

Tilly- I can't play anything. Which makes me sad.
I really wish I'd taken up an instrument when I was younger, but I just didn't want to back then.

sounds tough yikes. I tried learning the harmonica and got bored with it. It's just fun to make train noises haha.

Violin, yes, piano, no. My mom has no talent or knowledge for music at all in her entire existence, and she taught herself in like a couple of months.

Violin is like all practice all the time... If I didn't know how to recognize notes and tuning, I would be so fucked.

OMG HARMONICA IS HARD, MAN. It's because it's not supposed to be like reading the music, it's supposed to be an improved/straight from the heart kinda thing.

@Lathrine - good luck teaching yourself the harp! that's a complicated instrument there!!!

On the topic of instruments - I mostly sing, but I can play piano, flute, violin, basic basic clarinet and recorder, and I'll be learning percussion soon. I really want to learn how to play bass guitar!

Ahh, thanks for the heads up. I should try that one day, I just need to get a piano. I never really thought of teaching myself either, but now that I think about it, it may work to my advantage. =] Good luck with the violin. It's not too hard, well with a good teacher haha. I dont know about teaching yourself.

@Lathrine: I have a recorder and I can play the theme from titanic and amazing grace. It's hilarious.

.... And I just realized that I've tried to learn to many instruments it's silly. o_o; Panpipes, harp, recorder, tambourines, maracas, keyboard, organ aaaaand a small drum.
