Since Xavi's crazy and she loves this idea so much, she's doing a onexone with the wonderful Cora. The story will be based off the group RP, sharing the same design, layout, and character roles. In the spoilers below, you'll find the original details. The next two posts will be reserved for Xavi and Cora's characters. Once those are up, our story shall begin. You're welcome to read along or stalk!

SPOILERX

Quote:
Curiosity killed the cat, or so we're told, but that has nothing to do with our story. No, our story is a much more magical number. It's about a group of individuals who need to conquer time. But there's much more to the story than just that. You see, our heroes need to collect the voices of the lost to bring about tomorrow.

Forever stuck in an infinite loop of time, our heroes need to travel the great kingdom of Vitex to find those who have been lost to time. Ghosts, known as the lost, have sprung up and have stopped time. How? Why? Well, these ghosts all had life stolen from them. They died long before their time, whether accidental or purposely doesn't matter. What does matter is bringing peace to these tormented souls.

The lost sing daunting lullabies that cause terror in fear in the lives of those living. If you hear the voice of a lost, someone you know will die within three days time. Slowly but surely, the world has lost a great many people. With the lost still plaguing the world and stopping the advancement of life.

Our story takes place over the course of seven days. If not enough lost are consumed, time will be reset and our heroes will have to try again. Failure is not an option. But be warned, with each reset of the clock, more lost souls appear. You see, for every life you can't safe the first time, they come back as a lost in the next round. The more times you 'fail,' the more lost you'll have to face. And if too many lost exist, you'll be doomed. So, in reality, there is an end. Don't let the clock run out and don't let the eerie lullabies of the lost be the only tomorrow.

Quote:
Without repeating what you already know, let me explain the whole point of this story....

Our characters need to save their beloved planet from destruction. To do that, each has these crazy items that magically appeared at their bedside one day. At first you're all like, AWWW YEAH SO COOL. And then you discover that... your entire family is dead. They were straight up murdered by lost souls. Only, rather than becoming a 'lost,' they used their love for you to become an item of importance. This item grants you magical powers. Right off the bat, you won't even know you have powers. They will slowly develop, but won't actually appear until you run into your trigger. Your trigger point is 'awakened' when your aura glows. You feel a burning passion within and, the next thing you know, you're transforming into something else. These don't have to be full-body transformations; they can be partial transformations. You could become an animal, a robot, a car -- whatever. You get to decide. But whatever it is, make sure it means something to your character. For example, if you're afraid of spiders and you magically grow eight legs, explain why this is hard for you to handle. Essentially, this "awakening" should be something you're scared of. It doesn't have to be, but it would be nice if it was something you either dislike, fear, or hate.

Once you've been "awakened," you can begin to fight the lost. You'll hear their tragic lullaby and you'll be drawn to it. Lullabies can curse, freeze, blind, cut, and control you. Thankfully, when you're awakened, you're much harder to hurt. You're backed by these super awesome powers such as light, earth, lightning, illusions, etc. that will aid you in killing a lost. Since the lost are technically ghosts, they aren't easy to kill. In fact, you have to imprison them and then... eat them. Yes, eat them. You have to eat the souls of the lost to purge them from the planet. As a perk of eating lost souls, you'll grow stronger and stronger. But be wary, if you start to consume, you'll need to keep eating them or you'll lose your strength. They're a blessing and a curse. They give you power and make you godly, but they can also be your greatest weakness. They're an addiction that will drive you mad so munch on those lost souls wisely!

So why are you soul hunting? Well, time has stopped. You're stuck in this loop of seven days. If you can't purge the world of all the lost, you'll be rewound and have to start over. With each rewind, more souls appear. The more you rewind, the worse it gets. If it ever gets to the point where you and your team are the last 'humans' alive, you will forever be stuck in this state of limbo. The goal is to not have this happen. You want there to be a tomorrow. No, you want there to be a new tomorrow.

So consume souls and reach that bright, new tomorrow. Okay?

Xavi's characters:

Quote:
  • THE LEADER -- Every team needs a leader. This person is the one you'll rally behind and follow when things get tough. They aren't the smartest person, but they're the one you trust.
  • THE KID -- You travel with a group of people who are at least 18, if not much older. You feel like you're letting your team down, but you're the only one who can see the souls of people who are about to become lost. Your innocence protects you from harm and will guide you to safety. Believe in yourself and the team and you'll be just fine.
  • THE MECHANIC HEALER -- You don't know how you got this job, as you didn't study first aid, but you've magically become the team healer. Maybe it's your nurturing nature and kind-heart that make people trust you? Not to mention, you've steady hands and can keep your cool in the heat of stress. And when it comes to crazy devices and means of getting around, you're the one person left in charge. You can make anything happen. You're handiwork and knowledge of physics makes you a huge asset for the team. What will you invent next?
  • THE BEAST -- Can you say muscles and strength galore? It's no wonder you're a part of the team, as you're probably the strongest player. You've got the muscle to make anything happen. Too bad you can be reckless and hot-headed, but we all have our faults.

THE LEADER

appearance
Maevelin "Maeve" Gwen Peche
Twenty-two years old
Female
5-foot, 9-inches
Brunette with deep ruby red eyes

personality
Calm, collect, and brave. Maeve has the courage of a lion, the brains of the scarecrow, and the strength of the tin man. Although she's not the smartest cookie, she is very good at getting people to follow her lead. Perhaps it has to do with her barely covered breasts or maybe it's just the confidence she has. Maeve isn't overly kind, but she's not stern either. She's just the perfect mix of friendly and strict.

fears, powers & items
ITEM -- She's not sure why her parents turned into a feather, but she's not about to remove it from her hat.
FEAR -- Maeve is absolutely terrified of ships. Ever since she was little, Maeve has had a fear or water and boats.
POWER -- It's just Maeve's luck that she would have the ability to control water.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION -- Before Maeve's able to bend water to her will, she must undergo a transformation. Wrapping her arms around her body, Maeve tucks her chin against her chest. Out of nowhere, a tidal wave of water laps over her and alters her clothing. The second the water subdues, she's wearing a pilot suit.

history
Maeve was the daughter of a Navy man and a salon artist. Getting her looks from mom and her courage from dad, the brunette grew up with a pretty normal life. It wasn't until she was seven when Maeve felt her world get ripped apart. While her father was on a sea-based mission, his ship was targeted and sunk. Her father lost his life that day and, ever since, Maeve hasn't gone near water.

The rest of her life went pretty smoothly. She had average grades and did get into college. She was going to be a singer, or so that was her desire. However, those dreams were cut short when she discovered her first gig would be on a cruise ship. Instantly dropping out of school, Maeve now cuts hair with her mom and absolutely hates her life. She's been wishing for adventure and something to do. And just last night, she got that. Only, it came with a heavy price -- the loss of her mother.

The two were on their way home from work when a semi-truck collided into them. On a bridge, their car went into the water and the river swallowed her mother whole. When she awoke the next day, Maeve was alone in a hospital with nothing but a fancy feather at her side. Her mother loved feathers and there was something warm and familiar about this feather. But why....?

Pushing up from the bed, Maeve has set out to figure out what's going on. She'll stop at nothing to get to the bottom of this, even if it means... murder.

THE KID

appearance
Shayla "Shay" R. McAther
Ten
Female
4-foot
Blond hair and blue eyes

personality
Cheeky, bubbly, and cute. Shay is just what you would expect from a chubby-cheeked ten year old. She's super naive and innocent, too. Shay's terrified of the dark and anything scary. She clings to nice people and is super polite. Shay's also pretty smart for a kid, as she can pick up when people are annoyed with her. Even though she's a cry baby and needy at times, she's a joy to be around.

fears, powers & items
ITEM -- The necklace around her neck. The blue orb in the center is actually made from her mother's and grandma's tears.
FEAR -- Blood. Shay cannot stand the sight of blood. It makes her faint!
POWER -- Blood summoning. By pricking her finger and drawing blood marks on her body, Shay is able to summon a soul back to this earth. By doing this, she's able to control the movements of this departed soul. Essentially, Shay's a puppet master.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION -- To access her powers, Shay drops to her knees and screams into the sky. Darkness swallows her whole and when she appears, her blond hair falls white and blood tattoos appear on her face (like the above image).

history
Shay, being an old child, was often kept at home and out of harm's way. With her dad and brother gone (car accident), Shay's mom and grandma did everything to keep her safe. She was even home schooled, spending almost no time out in the public. Living a sheltered life, you can only imagine what must be going through her mind the morning she found her mother and grandma dead. Alone, scared, and afraid, she cried before their lifeless bodies. If it hadn't been for Eren who heard her whimpering, Shay would probably be dead, too.

THE MECHANIC HEALER

appearance
Eren Irwin Johnson
Twenty-six years old
Male
6-foot, 2-inches
Ginger with green eyes

personality
Eren's one of those quiet, shy guys whose a super sweetheart. He's got a good head on his shoulders and will go out of his way to help people. He's great around kid and he's very careful when entering hostile situations. Eren's the kind of guy who would rather talk things out than use his fists. To sweeten his package, Eren's a rather smart guy. He's a licensed mechanical engineer. Prior to getting roped into this disaster, he was working for the government (yes, that explains his quiet nature).

fears, powers & items
ITEM -- Odds as it sounds, Eren's parents and sister turned into a book. Although the pages are blank now, they will soon fill up with spells and blueprints that will prove to be mighty useful for Eren.
FEAR -- Unclear or straightforward answers. Eren cannot stand ambiguity and dislikes having multiple options. He likes to follow one order rather than "pick something" he likes.
POWER -- Kotodama user. Eren is able to speak a word and an object will materialize. He needs to be specific enough to make it appear properly though. If he said "ship," he could either get a boat or a plane. Eren's powers are limited to inanimate objects only. The larger the object, the harder it is to summon.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION -- To begin his awakening to get his powers, a jolt of lightning must strike him while his tongue is out. Since his power is word-based, his tongue needs to be super-charged. The second that happens, his body engulfs in flames as purple lightning dances around his burning body. As he's burning, his clothing melts away and is replaced by a skin-tight spandex suit (the far right one). A mask or black, pink, and yellow veils his eyes and hides his true identity.

history
Growing up in a pretty traditional home, Eren learned that life isn't handed to you on a silver platter. His dad was laid off, forcing his mom to go back to work. A few years later, she left the work force to have Eren's younger sister, Ginny. For a few years, his family struggled to get by but then the miracle happened -- his father was given a rare opportunity. Almost instantly, the money was flowing again and things looked so much better. It was like this until his final year in high school. With the economy down, his dad was laid off. This time, his mother went to work (again) and stayed working. Throughout Eren's college years, his mother flew up through the ranks and eventually landed VP of Operations at her company. His dad also found a job that's perfect for him.

Eren graduated college at 23 and has worked at an engineering firm until, well... this morning. Upon waking up, he discovered that his entire neighborhood was burned to the ground. Surprised to be alive, he spent the morning looking for survivors. Coming up empty, he decided it was time to head toward the city and see if he could find life (and answers). Along his way, he heard the familiar sound of a child screaming. Whirling around, he discovered a girl covered in blood who looked pale as a ghost. Swooping her up, Eren now travels with Shay as they look inot what's been happening to the planet. Where and why as darkness come and why is it getting worse with each ticking minute?

THE BEAST

appearance
Cailean (KA-len) Jay Raziel
Twenty-three years old
Male
5-foot, 11-inches
Blue hair with orange-brown eyes

personality
CJ's always been a bit rough around the edges. He's a tad aggressive (take the word tad with a grain of salt) and very easily peeved. Hot-headed and reckless are just two more terms people throw at him. Sure, he's moody and mean, but he hasn't had the best of lives. He's by no means smart, but he's not stupid either. People would call him street smart and a survivor. He has what it takes to win - courage and strength.

fears, powers & items
ITEM -- CJ's parents turned into a deck of cards. He has no idea why, but he assumes they know something he doesn't.
FEAR -- Uncertainly and illusions. CJ has never been a fan of magic and mystery, finding it too strange for his mind to wrap around. He would rather use his brawn than deal with myths and lore.
POWER -- Illusions. Drawing from his deck of cards, CJ is able to summon or conjure up different magical things. If he draws a "black hole" card, a black hole appears and will suck things from this earth. If he summons a "wings of destiny" card, he will be able to shoot a light attack from his wings. The cards are ceaseless in abilities and powers; understanding how to use these enhancements and powers is where the real fun lies.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION -- When he's able to use his powers, a while orb forms around him. His body moves into the sky and suddenly feathers fall from his orb. Slowly, wings appear out his back and wrap around his body. His clothing changes to that of an adventurer's garments. The second all the feathers from the orb fall, he's able to use his power to its full ability.

history
Ever since he can remember, CJ had been living with his foster parents. He has no idea where his real folks are, and he's not about to look into their disappearance further. Although he hates the idea of living with foster parents, CJ isn't mean or rude to them. He understands that they want nothing to do with him too. Things took a turn for the worse when he turned 16 and dropped out of school. Picking up drugs and alcohol, the kid soon found himself behind bars and in need of serious help. Loathing every moment of it, he eventually got out for good behavior two years later.

Getting his GED diploma a year later, CJ works two part time jobs now. One where he's a shop floor worker at a manufacturing place and another where he works at a construction yard. CJ prefers physical labor, as you could probably guess. Hitting up the gym every day before and after work, the twenty-year-old enjoys his life alone. Living with his girlfriend of three years now and their 9-month old, CJ is pretty content with his life.

Or he was. This morning he awoke to a bed soaked in blood. Not finding a body, he presumes both his girlfriend and baby are dead. While frantically searching for them, he happened upon two hand prints on the wall (one large and one small) that were in the shape of a heart. Written in blood below were the words, "Your strength will protect you."

-Cora's Characters-

Quote:
THE STRATEGIST -- Clearly the tactical genius of the crew. This is the person who comes up with all battle tactics and grasps everything down to the finest detail. You're not strong, but you know how to make your attacks mean something. Meticulous and careful, this hero is always a step ahead of everyone else.
THE ROMANTIC -- You're not here because you want to be here. You're here because you refuse to let that special someone in your life die. You've been protecting him/her since forever and you're not about to stop now. You'll die for him/her if you have to. Did I mention you're wicked strong when your beloved's life is in danger?

THE NOISY ARTIST -- There's no inside voice for you. You're always loud and you're always making a fuss. You're dramatic and emotional, but your spontaneity is your greatest strength. You're peppy and always ready for whatever lies ahead. Your reckless nature gets you in trouble, but it also makes magical things happen. You see life for what it's worth -- beauty. Everything about your, your mind and skills, are embedded in your creative mind. You're resourceful and fluid. Some might call you odd or weird -- and they are right. But it's that eccentric nature of yours that gives you gracefulness and victory.

THE HEAVENLY -- Hand-chosen by the heavens to bring about redemption, you're very in-tune with His Majesty's will and desire. You have a sixth sense, allowing you to see glimpses of the future. Although weak and often defenseless (the downsides of being blind), you bring much knowledge to the team. You're also the one who hand-picked your teammates.
THE STRATIGIST

appearance
Collin Farthsword
Twenty-one
Male
6-foot, 2-inches
Normally Black hair with Vivid Blue eyes

personality
Collin is the quiet one in the group. He doesn't say a whole lot, and when he does its often times short and to the point which makes him come across as rather short. He doesn't really know how to be anything other then completely blunt about what he's thinking which doesn't often win him alot of friends. He's extremely intelligent, and can give even the smartest competition a run for there money.

fears, powers & items
ITEM -- Never a tie wearer before, now he never goes without. His tie was once his younger sister gabriella, his only family.
FEAR -- He has the ungodly fear of being wrong. He is never wrong, but has this fear that the world will end the day he is wrong about something. He is also, funny enough, terrified of bunny rabits and anything White and furry because they remind him of gabriella.
POWER -- Collins power is hightened intuition. He is always able to see three moves ahead. He knows that if you move to the left one foot, the person next to you will die. He is able to predict the chain of events that set's one thing into motion, the pencil falls so a woman gets killed.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION -- Before Collin can use his power he reaches a hand towards the sky to draw in the light which runs down from his fingers and and down his arm until he is entirely encased in a blanket of light. When the light disapates his mind has been enlightened and so has his hair. Once black hair is now stark white, and he now wears the gear of a shining knight.

history
Life for Collin and Gabriella was never easy, not even from the beginning. They where born into a poor mans life, but their parents tried to make the most of everything they had, even if it wasn't much. However, when Collin was just 12 years there parents died, leaving Collin and Gabriella to fend for themselves.

In the beginning collin made the most of things, learning how to beg, and do odd jobs of people just to keep himself and gabriella fed. It worked for a while and eventually Collin was able to secure a part time job while Gabriella kept there less then perfect home. It wasn't perfect but at least they had each other, and for them it was enough.

One day there was a violent shooting outside of Collin and Gabriella's home and the two of them where caught in the crossfire. Collin doesn't remember all of what happened but when he woke up he was bleeding and alone in a dark alley and gabriella was no where to be found. A random tie had been wrapped around his hand though.

THE NOISY ARTIST

appearance
Arya Kalitburg
Eighteen
Female
5-foot, 1-inch
Long Fire-y red hair, steel grey eyes

personality
If Collin is the quiet and calculating type, then Arya is his complete opposite. She is a bright light in everyone though as she always sees the positive in a situation and is often the moment to smile even in the darkest of times. But being the every optimist does have its downsides too, she is reckless and always follows her heart. She’s the first one in a room to tell you what she thinks in a loud and rambunctious sort of way. She’s quick to make a decision but also quick to follow through on this decision as she rushes headlong into danger which often leads her into extreme danger.

fears, powers & items
ITEM – Her hair bow. Her hairbow is her best friend and secret loved one.
FEAR – She greatly fears losing people because she wasn’t quick enough to react. She feels like she lost the one person she held most dear to her because she wasn’t quick enough to save him. She also regrets that she never told him how she felt about him. Now she is both rash and honest about her feelings because she never wants this to happen again.
POWER -- She has a paintbrush that has the power to take anything she paints and make it a reality. Her paintbrush can create anything, alive or not, but more complex things take a good deal longer to paint fully functional so it is not really all that practical to paint creatures in the midst of battle.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION – Arya must use her paintbrush to paint herself into a cocoon. Once inside there is a moment’s pause before the cocoon bursts into a sea of rainbow colored butterflies revealing her to be a Lolita princess(Still her red hair and grey eyes though)

history
Arya was always a loner. Shy, awkward, and never knowing what to say to people, she grew up in the foster care system. As a child she was always alone, an awkward child who was shifted from one place to the next just trying to find the right place to call home. Unfortunately, Arya never was adopted into a good loving home, but at the age of 16 she left the foster care system to live her life on her own.

Full of ambition she continued to go to school but got herself a job on the side where she could be able to afford a cheap little apartment. She had one friend in all her childhood and even though they where both awkward kids they often times found themselves shuffled into the same households. When Arya moved out on her own Adam did as well. The two of them remained extremely close, to the point that they were hardly ever separated.

At the age of 17 she started to realize that what had always been extreme friendship of her best friend had now turned into love, but she never had the guts to tell him. The two of them got caught in an apartment fire at her home and Arya panicked, and had no idea how to react. The smoke overtook her. She passed out. Later she woke up in the ambulance with a beautiful black ribbon next to her. She always knew the ribbon was her lost love.

THE HEAVENLY

appearance
Kitalia Erenright
She’s unsure anymore, though she believes herself to be around 30.
Female
5-foot, 6-inch
Long White hair and blank grey eyes.

Personality
Kitalia is distant. There is a soft, almost airy quality about her as if she was living on her own cloud far away from where her body is. She tends to not talk to the group anymore then she has to feeling like it’s probably best that she doesn’t get attached, or perhaps it’s just that people in general terrify her, or maybe she really has lost a piece of herself long ago. She tried to hand pick this group of people but regardless of her failure she does want them to succeed so she helps where she guides them through what she knows but she leaves most of the work to the leader and the strategist.

fears, powers & items
ITEM – The bell caller around her neck, though she’s been in this city of lost souls so long she has lost most of her life from before. She knows the collar is important, but she doesn’t remember why.
FEAR – Dying, she tried to hand pick a powerful team so that this time they might avoid dying. She also fears getting too close to people because she’s afraid to lose the ones she loves. If she loves no one, she can’t lose them.
POWER -- Clairvoyance, which she has no control over, images come to her of the future at random . She also has the power of divine prayer. If she falls to her knees and prays to her divine being then her wishes come true, but at a price. Her power saps from her very life force leaving her completely and utterly drained. If the prayer was strong enough it will cause her to faint for hours or even days.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION – Kitalia’s transformation comes through her falling to her knees in deep prayer. Giant wings made of pure white light wrap themselves around her in a gentle embrace that when it breaks reveals her to be a divine angel

history
Kitalia has been awaken to the kingdom of Vitex a very long time, constantly stuck in a loop of time repeating itself, she lost her first team to the lost. She remembers nothing but her days with her first team. Her real life was lost to her long ago.

She took to watching those not awakened after her first failed attempt at saving loved ones from the lost. She used her divine powers of wishing to try and awaken those that she felt would be most suited to her team. For the first time ever, fate intervened, and her powers failed. Her team isn’t what she would have picked, but still…..she tries to make do with what she’s given.

THE ROMANTIC

appearance
David Alexander
Twenty-One
Male
5-foot, 11-inch
Short greenish brown hair.

Personality
Who doesn’t love the one who can’t help but play the hero. He likes to call himself reckless with a cause. He’s usually level headed and cool except when someone he loves is in trouble, then all hell breaks loose. He loses his cool in the heat of fire and becomes brash and often reckless. He won’t wait around for the rest of the group to make a decision. He’s pissed and he wants the situation taken care of now Now NOW.
fears, powers & items
ITEM – He has a marble in his pocket which was once his father.
FEAR – Losing the person he loves most dearly. He’s also deathly afraid of snakes. Face him against the first and he grows stronger in the face of losing the one he loves. Pit him against a snake and he’ll scream like a little girl
POWER – Control over plant life.
AWAKENING TRANSFORMATION – David’s transformation entails thorny vines wrapping themselves entirely around him. Suddenly they dissipate into a sea of rose petals and he is wearing a Rogue Costume

history
David’s life is extraordinarily normal if truth be told. He was an only child raised by a single father who worked hard but was able to give David a fairly normal life. David loved his father dearly. The two of them were in a plan that crashed in the end. David is still not sure how he survived and his father died, but he would do anything to have him back.

The world had changed drastically. Vitex was no longer a thriving planet with a civilization of glory and wondrous strength. If anything, Vitex was on the verge of destruction, as its land was plagued with an eerie melody. To fresh ears, the lullaby would sound like a mournful cry filled with the tears of defeat and the taste of death. People might be hypnotized by this noise and seek out its caller. Only, it is unwise to seek out the dead. You see, Vitex has an issue and, as of late, it's spread. Myth and lore as it that when a soul is ripped from its human form prematurely, the soul becomes dark, corrupted, and vengeful. What was once legend and fantasy has become truth and reality. Vitex's land is scattered with these black, tainted shadows of man. These lost souls, known as the lost, roam the land in search of people who deserve no second chance. They consume lives and suck the souls from those who seem to have things far too perfect.

Today is a strange day for today a ray of hope shines down on Vitex. A woman blessed by the heavens has received her second chance. Chanting and singing names of desire, she wishes upon the stars that these lives will be spared. Although her wishes didn't all come true, one thing did shine bright -- hope. Eight in total, these select faces of hope will find one another and, together, will face all the darkness on Vitex. Only, this challenge comes with a heavy burden. To slay the lost, you must server the ties of love, friendship, and family.

The heavenly selector had already suffered a great loss when she lost her first team. Failing due to their inability to cope with changes and grasp new situations, the world should have been doomed. But the heavens gave her another chance. A chance to pick seven new faces to join her on her journey. Although it broke her heart to watch these seven suffer as they discovered they were truly alone in this world, she wore a faint smile on her face. She knew that, unlike the team before, these seven were the key to success.

Although these seven don't know of their roles yet, they feel something within that is calling them to this holy destination -- a church in an abandoned city that was previously overrun by the lost.

The lost are powerful, razing the earth and everything on it. Now only a few cities and villages remain. Each surviving village has built a large wall around it with the hopes of keeping the tormented lost souls from entering. Those who are lost on the outside of the wall tend to face death for they have no hope of entering a village, unless they can prove their worth to the people within.

Currently migrating toward this holy church, our seven heroes will meet up with the woman from the heavens to learn of their roles. Upon touching this blessed, holy land, a voice will speak to them. Everything will become clear. This voice they hear is the voice of someone they loved dearly. It guides them in times of need and helps them during the darkest of man's hours. It is the voice of truth and reason.

"Don't fear what you cannot see. Let my love guide you and our bond hold you together. Though things might be bleak, don't turn away, for the people of tomorrow need you. Lullabies of the lost burn the land. Time had been stopped until you can slay time's hands. Be wise with your words and strong with your weapon for you've only seven days before you begin anew. May speed bless you and honor guide you as you travel down this dark road. Let me sudden death awaken the powers within you. Save yourself and save the future."

Though the words ring eerily in their ears, they can't help but feel that there's a greater message to these words. A chill runs down the spines of all eight as they each embrace their awaited fate. With a step back, a symbol and word appears below their feet. These words describe the role they're each to take. Spell lifting and magic gone, silence fills the air. No lullabies of the lost are near.

"The hell is going on here?" her voice was rich with an accent (think British). "Whut is the meaning of all this." Her eyes landed on the words below her feet. Why did it say "The Leader." Her brow furrowed at the idea. How was she to lead people when she didn't even grasp what was happening.

"Getting mad won't solve anything," the ginger spoke up from the group. A squeeze came to his hand so his emerald eyes glanced down to see Shay's eyes wide with tears. "Eh, shhh, Shay. It'll be okay. I promise." Bending down, he pat the girl on the head. It was pretty clear he didn't really know what he was doing. "We're all just as confused as you, but that doesn't mean we should get nasty."

"Tch, I like how the 'Healer' is putting the 'Leader' in her place. Some group we've got going on here." The blue haired boy, CJ, crossed his arms over his chest. "I have better things to do than waste my time here. I need to find out if Connie and Kris are okay." Turning, he started to leave the area, but found it impossible to move from the holy land. "The hell?!"

The voice came back. "Hatred, vengeance, and darkness cannot fill your heart. See the light and fight for it. You've only seven days to rid the world of the lost. Should you fail, hope will slowly fade away. Together, you can win. Apart, and all hope is lost."

Things were starting to come together, for some. Eren was the first to really sink his teeth into the idea. "Eh! The lost? Wait, as in... the black demons that kill innocent people? The ones hellbent on ruining lives because something killed them prematurely?" Hands falling into fists, Eren's fiery eyes gazed up at the glowing sky. "I've read about this before." Head turning down to view his fellow soon-to-be teammates, he explained. "There is a tale of heroes who will do what god cannot do. We can walk the earth and eliminate the lost. We can purify their tormented souls and send them to the afterlife. But... those heroes, the ones in the stories, they had...." His hand came to his heart. "Powers. They were strong, wise, beautiful men and women." Turning his head away, he found himself biting his lip. "We're nothing but a simple men."

"No! If we were brought here and if it's what you believe, then we're here for a reason." Maeve stomped her foot in protest. "If god asked us for help, then we must comply!"

Although their powers had yet to awaken, a burning sensation came from within. They knew not what lied in their wake, but they were ready to embrace whatever came their way. With god's messenger (The Heavenly) on their side, everything would soon come to light. Soon, everything would make sense. Only, time was fleeting and perhaps their greatest enemy.

Unsure what to do, Eren, Shay, and CJ turned to the one labeled the leader. Maeve, taking a step back, panicked as she looked around. "Don't look at me like that. I don't even know what's happening. Trust me, I wish I did but... I don't." Hanging her head in defeat, she dropped to the ground and found herself staring at the stones below everyone. One word stood out the most -- The Heavenly. "You, she breathed, "are you our guardian angel?"

Celestya had fallen to her knees before the alter at the old church. Its shuttered walls and fallen refuse had long since been abandoned by the likes of man. Still it was a holy place, and holy places where a place of sanctuary. Holy lands were sacred places, even if the holy land was long forgotten. She bowed her head in an unspoken prayer, her heart calling forth the names that she had chosen, awakening them from the eternal slumber that would consume their souls to the lost. Silently she offered the unspoken words to the gods the heavens that had blessed her with a second chance, a chance at redemption.

Her mind fell to her original team, each of them had been so willing to participate, so willing to try in the beginning and yet, they had failed. They hadn’t been able to overcome the challenge of being alone. It broke her heart to have had to watch them suffer as they did, in the end they had let their souls be corrupted by the attachment to life before the awakening. They had let the lost consume them, and in the end they had become lost themselves.

When she had found herself truly alone she had wondered the earth in search for a place to stop, a place to rest her broken wings, but there had been no where that would have her. Villages with high walls surrounding them, shutting the people within off from the rest of the world, no one was to take in the fallen angel. What good did a blind woman do for the good of the village, to the people within the village only those with valid worth could be let in, everything else was too much of a risk. How could she blame them, the world had become a dark, dark place.

She could feel them, the summoned, as her prayer was answered. Something had gone wrong….these where not the ones she had prayed would receive the awakening. She felt confusion, burning deep within her, did the Gods feel she had chosen wrong? She had neither time nor energy to try to send these ones back and gather the ones she had chosen. She slumped against the alter, the energy from that prayer was strong, and took a lot from her. The gods be praised she did not lose herself this day, her knew team would need her guidance, they would be confused. She listened at first in silence as they discovered themselves and their team.

Arya looked around the room in confusion, why had she been brought to this place. A bit of bickering banter went on between the one with the thick brittish accent labeled as “The Leader” and another red headed man labeled as the “The Healer”. The former seemed to be getting confused and angry while the latter started off putting her in her place. Another blue haired male seemed to be trying to leave but couldn’t. She looked around the room in devastating confusion. It wasn’t long before she was commenting on the comments from the group, “The Lost!?” she had said when the other mentioned fighting the lost and the hero’s that had come before, “How could I possibly fight the Lost!? I’m nothing special, just a simpleton.” She looked down at her feet, at the words inscribed below them. The noisy Artist? “What could a noisy artist do!?” she hadn’t said it in an angry way, loud yes, but her voice was full of vivid curiosity. She really had wanted to know what she could do to help, probably the most immediately willing member of the group. She let out a soft giggle bouncing on the balls of her feet, “At any rate, if magic is involve sign me up!

Collin hadn’t been talking much, as talking really wasn’t his thing. Instead he had been listening to each of them, and observing all of them. The one labeled as the healer mentioned a group of individuals from before, and seemed to observe that they were to be the ones to take that place. In his mind that seemed to make sense. He observed the titles under each of their feet. The leader, the mechanical healer, the kid, the beast, the romantic, the noisy artist, the heavenly and him, the strategist. A few of the names seemed to be rather odd choices to him if they were going to try and save the world, but who was he to judge.

The Leader seemed to looked to the heavenly for guidance, and asked her if she was there guardian angel. Celestya used the alter to get to her feet although shakily. She turned in the direction of the Leader, a woman with a heavy British accent. She couldn’t see her, but generally it made people feel more comfortable around her blindness if they felt she was paying them attention, “Guardian Angel…..it’s been a long time since anyone has called me that.” Her mind wondered to Gavin, a member of the old team who had taken to lovingly calling her Angel, a sad sardonic smile played her lips, “I guess in a sense yes, you could call me that. I am here to act as your guide in the times ahead. As the healer had mentioned, you are here to help me battle the lost in the fight for humanity. Powers, is that what he called them, we always called them our gifts. Each of you where granted a gift, to use in the trying times ahead”

Once again Arya let out a gleeful squeal, “So then we really DO get to use super powers! I’m in, totally in
Celestya made to move towards them, but in her heavily weakened state she nearly fell. David, who was closest to her dashed forward and caught her before she fell, he spoke in a soft almost not heard voice, “Are you Alright, miss, here, you can lean on me if you need to move. I don’t mind

She seemed shocked at first but then smiled, She placed a hand on his cheek to feel where he was “The romantic, I would say” she smiled softly, “Thank you, that would be nice. Summoning you lot here has drained most of my life force for the moment. I will need to recuperate before we move out again. Consuming of a lost would be ideal, but I don’t think we should attempt that until I’ve properly introduced you to your gifts.

Collin had been listening intently the whole time but one note struck him as extremely sour. He could tell that the heavenly woman was blind, but he turned in her direction anyways. “Excuse me, if I might, but if we are here…doesn’t that mean the other group failed. What happened to them?

It was as if a tidal wave had washed over her, and she fell against David who held tight to keep her from falling. She turned to the man who had spoken, “The strategist, I would guess,” she said softly, “To answer your question, because I think you need to know the truth, my last team was lost to the lost. They failed.

Some of what Celestya was saying was getting through the Eren. Sure, there was a few holes in his mind, but for the most part everything was pretty straight forward. Her old team failed and a new one was selected. Everyone had gifts and those gifts granted powers. Oh, and one cannot forget that it was Celestya who summoned them all here, which explained why they weren't able to up and leave just yet. The poor summoner needed to regain her strength! Eren could really understand that for he too was exhausted. Actually, now would be the ideal time for everyone to rest and maybe play the 'get to know one another' game. But who was he to lead the group? He wasn't dubbed the leader. And boy was he glad he wasn't. Being the 'healer' was much easier, despite having little to no experience with such practices. Still, the vast majority of the pressure would be off his shoulders.

It was probably a few minutes in that it all started to click for Maeve. She wasn't the smartest of people, but she did come to things in a timely manner. Besides, what mattered most was her ability to lead. She was cheer captain all throughout high school and she often served as team lead on projects. Perhaps it was all those years of being a Girl Scout? Either way, she knew her stuff.

Pacing to and fro for a moment, Maeve put her foot down before looking up at 'her army.' With bright eyes and a smug grin on her face, the woman scoffed. "I don't know about the rest of you, but we are a sour sight for the eyes. We've no experience and, worse, we don't even know one another. Where do you all call home? What are your names? And, since it was mentioned, what gift was left behind for you?"

Maeve sat down crisscross-applesauce style and hoped the others would take a seat with her. Leaning forward some, the brunette brushed aside her chocolate locks. "I'm Maevelin Peche, but please call me Maeve. I come from Airendale and I'm twenty-two. As for my gift, I was left with this lovely feather." Hand touching the brim of her hat, she turned to her right. "You're up, handsome."

Eren, directly to Maeve's right gasped for a moment before turning his head away to blush. So embarrassing, he scolded himself for his bashful nature. "I'm Eren Johnson, twenty-six. I'm from Glennbrook." His hands smoothed over the cover of a book. Paging through its empty insides, he spun it around to show the group. "I was left this empty book," he said in a dishearten tone.

"Oh, oh, oh! Me, me! It's my turn." Jumping to her feet, the little girl bowed before sitting in Eren's lap. "My name is Shay McAther. I'm this many years old!" Holding up ten fingers, the girl giggled. "I'm from Wh-Wh-G-..." her lips twisted in an attempt to say a word.

"Glennbrook."

"Yeah! That be the place. Wenbroke." Giving everyone a toothy grin, the girl skipped on over to the blue haired boy in the group. "Who be you!" she said while lightly poking his nose before fleeing back to Eren.

"I'm Cailean Jay Raziel, but my friends call me CJ. Too many Colin's out there and not enough CJs. My home is Cinder Village and I'm twenty three. My item is this deck of card." He held them up but out of the corner of his eye, he saw Shay pop back to her feet. Her butt, obviously, squishing into Eren's face.

"Oh no! I forgot my item." Leaning forward, she showed off her necklace. "Mama and GramGram left this behind for me. It's very pretty and very sp'efal to me." If she wasn't as cute as she was, some of them might have gotten annoyed with her cheeky antics. Thankfully, her slurred speech and giddy attitude seemed well-received, at least but some of them.

Eyes falling to the one next to CJ, Collin Farthsword, they waited to see who else was on the team. So far, everyone seemed decent, or so Maeve believed. She could handle this. Didn't hurt that there were to handsome fellows in this lot either.

Collin watched as each of them made their introductions to the group. He knew he would reserve truthful judgment until the time that he knew them better, right now however he was finding himself quick to notice little quirks about each of them. Things that annoyed him, or things that he found interesting about each of them. Maeve, as she called herself, was the leader. She had taken charge so that was a good thing, she had an accent that was sort of nice as well.

The healer, Eren, and the Kid, Shay, appeared to know one another. At this point in time the healer appeared to be the Kids guardian. The child was already starting to get on Collin’s nerves just a hair, perhaps he was destined to deal with her but until she actually proved herself useful Collin really just found her fairly annoying. He looked to CJ next, interesting enough another Collin, but Collin couldn’t find much to say about the man yet, he was neither here nor there. It appeared that it was now Collin’s turn to introduce himself, at least everyone was looking at him to do so.

He said little, and didn’t choose to give too much away. Instead he gave only the information they had asked for and nothing more. “Collin Farthsword” he grunted a bit in a genial display that he was displeased at the current situation, “Twenty-One, From New Korna” he paused for a moment looking around at everyone around him, what a funny team they were, they too however seemed to have gifts so he wouldn’t sound crazy mentioning his, he lifted his tie with one hand, “My gift is this tie

Arya had been patiently waiting, or at least as patiently waiting as her busy body would allow, now however she could no longer contain herself. “My turn, My turn” she said with a bouncy air that was filled with excitement, almost like she thought they were going on a group picnic rather they headed into battle. She was waving her hand around in the air with shaky excitable movements. “My name is Arya Kalitburg, Eighteen years old! So don’t y’all be treating me like a kid now” she put on an extremely fake pout that made Collin raise an eyebrow, he was wrong, the little girl shay was a saint compared to this one.

I come from the Village of Dorth. My gift….well you see” he face went oddly dark for a moment as if she was thinking about some forbidden past, but then her face lit up again in amusement as she said quite loudly, “My gift is my song!” and then she proceeded to sing a popular pop song from a time long past, it would have been a song they all would have recognized, and she wasn’t a bad singer either. If times had been different, she may have been an entertainer. She leaned her head comically on Collin’s shoulder as if serenading him.

His face turned slightly red but then he quickly tried to hide this fact by growling and pushing the girl away so she giggled and bounded off a bit to serenade another male in the room, the healer, what had he called himself, Eren? Collin got a little angry at this, despite having pushed her away, and said quite loudly, “If you would tell us your gift so we can move on, we don’t have time for such non-sense

Arya looked serious once more, and then nodded at him, “I was only trying to lighten the mood, it’s so very gloomy in here. But you’re right, I apologize, I got a bit out of hand.” She took to carefully untying the Black ribbon that held up her unruly red hair. My gift is this ribbon; it’s from someone very special to me.” She looked over at the only two other people standing in the room, the heavenly leaning heavily on the romantic, “It’s you guys up

David looked at the group, “Just a moment” he said very suavely, he looked down at the heavenly who looked so pal and fragile and spoke softly, “If you’ll let me, I’m going to take you over to that pew over there, It’ll allow you time to rest while you talk to us, I don’t think you need to be standing

The heavenly nodded and with the help of David the two of them made it over to pew, at which point David turned back to the oddball group and spoke to them, “My turn yes” he said with a smile at them, “My name is David, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Pendlance, My gift” he took a moment to dig around in his pocket for the thing, when he finally found it he held it up for all of them to see “My gift is this here marble

At this point everyone was looking to the heavenly, she couldn’t see them but she knew they were looking to her, but it was only natural when introductions had gone around the room that it would now be her turn. She smiled vaguely, “I suppose that it is my turn at all this, My name is Kitalia, I haven't come from anywhere is a very long time, I am these days a wonderer." she neglected to leave out the part that she couldn't remember where she came from even, She thought for a moment, "My age is around the age of 30, give or take a year or so. For those who couldn't tell, I am blind, and have been so for a very long time." she said this as if it where merely a conversation starter over a cup of tea, "My gift, is my bell, its been with me since the last group"

She took a deep sigh, she wasn't getting any stronger, but at least she had to have strength to get them started before she collapsed entirely. She hated that she was forced to rely so much on others, it was a blessing and a curse. "Leader" her name eluded her for a moment, but then it came to her, "I think your name was Maeve, I would come to you, but really I'll be admitting of my own weakness, I couldn't walk to you in this state, I need lost souls, but this comes first" She waited for a moment, but then said, to the whole group, "I will need to see you each individually, and with your gift. I know this is alot to take in, but I know I have not much time, my strength is fading fast."

Well, things were sure interesting. It looked as if there were two "kids" in the group, Shay and Arya. There were the 'cool guys,' CJ and Collin -- go figure, it's the guys with the same name. There were also two genuine men, Eren and David. Maeve found herself grinning at the fact that Kitalia and her both shared the 'lead female' roles. Even though Kitalia was blind, Maeve already saw a deep form between this older woman and herself. There was much to learn but first, it sounded like they needed to squash a lost and feed its soul to Kitalia.

"I understand, Kita. May I call you that?" Rising, Maeve swept across the ground over to the angelic woman's side. "How shall we go about securing the lost so you can drink away their dark misery?"

It was an honest question. Never before had Maeve even heard about someone 'killing' a lost, as they were technically already dead. Maeve presumed such power came from the gift, but a feather hardly seemed fitting for battle. Eyes sweeping over the rest of the crowd, she was beginning to wonder if any of their 'items' were really all that useful. None of them had a weapon, unless you called a marble a weapon. Still, it was too much of a stretch to believe.

"I find it hard to fight without a weapon of sorts. Don't we need something to defend ourselves with?" She spoke, but to no one in particular. Her comment was more of a statement that she said aloud to herself.

Eren, however, decided he might pipe up some and offer some insight on her confusion. "If the lore is truthful, we're bestowed great gifts from the tears of our loved ones. In time, these gifts will awaken our inner hero, thus granting us a power. But power is such a broad term that it could mean anything. It could be as simple as the ability to hear things that go unspoken to something far more complex like invisibility or shooting flames from your hands." Hand gliding over the book he clung to, Eren found himself quivering at the thought that his family might be the foundation of this book. "Whatever our strength be, it will come to us when the time is right. Odds are, we won't awaken together. It'll probably be in pairs or individually."

"How do you know so much about this," CJ chided from across the way. You could tell from his tone that he was peeved at the situation and wanted nothing to do with this crew.

After clearing his throat, Eren calmly turned toward the blue-haired perp. "I spend a lot of time reading old literature. I enjoy mythology and lore. During my time at the university, I delved into many books and spent countless hours researching the tails of our past. I read about the world's end that was brought on by an onslaught of darkness. Or as we're calling them nowadays, the lost. It's god's punishment for thinking ill and being bad. With how sue-happy people are and how sinful people become, god decided it was time to punish us. He usually collects the departed souls but this time around, he let them rot and fall back to earth. This impure souls of the wrongly murdered are what destroy our world. In the readings, it said that once enough lives had been lost and faith in his being restored, he would call forth his celestial angel to guide mankind back toward life and light."

Starry-eyed, Maeve almost fell forward at the end of the whole story. Eren's voice was truly magical and everything he said was like liquid gold. A part of her was just dying to kiss those lips, but then she realized that lust was probably a bad idea at this time. Whirling her head around, the brunette placed a hand on Kitalia's knee. "You choose us. Let us prove our worth to you."

She turned her head in the direction that Maeve was in when she had asked if she could call her Kita. It had been a long time since anyone had given her any sort of nickname. There was something kind in the act, almost personal, and a small smile played Kitalia’s lips for a moment. She had told herself that she wouldn’t be drawn in to this group, not personally, not emotionally, not again. The last group had been like a family to her and her lost of them nearly tore her apart. She couldn’t afford to let that happen again, and yet she already felt herself drawn in to them, growing comfortable with them. She smiled softly, “Yes I think Kita will work fine

She was contemplating how to answer Maeve’s questions when another in the group appeared to answer for her. She listened as Eren told them everything he knew about the lost and the previous battle. Kitalia closed her eyes and remembered them. This boy, one she had not chosen, was smart. Smarter than the one she had chosen. No wonder the gods had chosen him for healer and mechanic. He was both smart and gentle.

She smiled again at Maeve’s sentiments. Despite herself she was becoming attached to them, each of them, against her wishes. She held up a hand to quiet them as she began to explain, both about the past and the future. “The Mechanical Healer…” she said as she turned her face in the direction he had previously been, whether he was still there she did not know, she tried to remember his name, “Eren? I think that’s what you called yourself. A good majority of the stories have truth to them. The lost, they are souls, souls of those who died wrongfully. A good deal many of them died brutal deaths and some are from the lost themselves.”

She paused for a moment and took a ragged breath, “I know not the anger of the gods, only what our destiny to do. We are to use the gifts of eternal love, the ones left behind by those that loved us, and we are to wield that love against the lost. Love is the greatest gift god gave to man, the capacity to love endlessly.” She quieted for a moment and looked at the room noticing it had remained quiet though she was sure a few of them had yet to be convinced, “As for these powers, Eren here had another good point. I will unlock them within you, but I cannot awaken them. It will be the power of each of you to figure out how to awaken them within yourselves. So each of you will awaken when the time is right and when the time comes you will know what to do. Each of you will have a trigger that

She coughed a bit into her hand and then continued, “Right now I will be searching each of your minds to find that moment to unlock the gifts, but again that doesn’t mean you will be able to use them immediately. I will start with Maeve here, as she is our leader.” She reached her hands up to touch the sides of Maeve’s face, near here temples. It was a gentle touch but there was something almost cold about it. She turned her face in the direction of Maeve’s and whispered softly, “This may hurt a little bit…

She closed her eyes and leaned forward a bit; searching through the depths of Maeves mind, for what was something that only she would know. It was different, than one might think. Kitalia was not reading Maeve’s mind nor was it likely that she would remember any moment from the search after the point but she did know what she was looking for, a light amongst all the darkness that was the depth of ones mind.

Maeve would feel a pull, gentle at first and then harder. The fragmented pieces of things would make sense to Maeve but not to Kitalia, glimpses of memories flashing past, ghosts of times long past, moments lost to all but those that lived them. She searched quickly trying to find that one shining moment when everything would click and make sense, and that she could latch on that to unlock what was so special about Maeve’s gift.

She found it after a few more brief moments but hundreds of more loose flickers. She had gotten good at this after the last group, but someone….she didn’t remember who now, had told her if she stayed too long she’d get stuck permanently in the recesses of someone’s mind. Thankfully she was good at this now and as soon as she found it she did what she needed to and got out of there.

She fell back against the pew more exhausted then she had been before her travel into Maeve’s memories and now she was shaking a bit as well. Nothing completely noticeable at least not yet, but she could feel it. Weak quivering that ran through her, she would have a hard time getting through all of them, of that she was certain. She looked up at Maeve and whispered hoarsely “Most people can’t unlock them on their own, they can activate there powers because they must, but unlocking them is different and often leaves the person trapped within their own mind. The beginning of the end of my last team was when poor little Ellea became trapped in her own mind, I couldn’t find her and I couldn’t bring her back….

She paused wondering if to continue, but then she looked at them, they deserved to know the truth. “Your mind is a precious thing….guard it well, for out there the lost have immense power. Some can curse, freeze, blind, and cut you. But some, the stronger lost out there may take over your mind. If you aren’t careful to protect it, you won’t be able to come back.”

She lifted a hand to the group, and spoke her voice growing ever more softly, “I think I shall see Eren next, if he would be so kind as to come over here.

As Kita's words rang true to what Eren had just spoken of, Maeve found herself in awe. Was she really chosen for this role? Was she really handpicked by this woman? It was so surreal. The possibility of saving the world alongside a messenger of god was purely unfathomable. Life wasn't supposed to be like this. This wasn't supposed to happen to her. And yet, it did.

Should she be honored? Should she be afraid? What about mad? Hurt? Lost?

So many emotions swelled her head to the point were Maeve felt sick. It was just far too much to take in. She could only imagine the toll it was taking on some of the others, like the noisy girl and the kid. Even the blue-haired boy seemed on the verge of breaking. To become these heroes, to work alongside god, they had to experience a grave sacrifice.

Clutching her heart, Maeve felt the gentle brush of Kita's hand. It was time for this angel to dive deep into her core and discover something, something that would trigger her awakening. But what? What was a moment so raw that it would imprint on Maeve?

Head a blur, she saw colors swirl around her mind. One memory onto the next, the women skipped through her life in reverse. There were some tender moments that had Maeve crying. She could relive her grandfather's passing. She could see it all so clearly now. She was so mad at him, oh so mad at him. How dare he leave her. The thought of losing the only man left in her life really scarred Maeve.

Seconds later, visions from her youth were playing all around her mind. Fighting back the urge to scream, she knew what was coming. Her father's death. It was a hard memory to even think about; one she had suppressed for so long. And yet, as she looked at it from this perspective, Maeve started to feel something within her glow. Was it something from the moment? Was it something she missed once? Something she never understood?

Just as she was about to explore it further, everything stopped. Kitalia was no longer in her mind. Unsure what to say or do, Maeve just dropped to the ground and stared blankly up at the heavenly woman.

"Got it," she panted. Wanting to dive back into her memories, the woman knew better. Kita would guide her through this journey. There was no point digging further, longer, or harder. After all, curiosity killed the cat. Maeve didn't want to befall herself for being too reckless and hasty.

Eyes falling on Eren, she wondered what would awaken this boy. What would his power be? What would be his trigger?

Stepping gingerly up beside Kitalia, Eren placed a hand on her forehead. "Don't overexert yourself. Perhaps we should only keep to one or two readings a day. I can see from the lack of color in your eyes that you're slowly losing strength." He smirked. "How can gray go grayer? The small flecks of color that once dotted around your iris have fallen white. The fragments of colors aren't there."

Hand on her shoulder now, Eren turned to look at the rest of the group. "Might be wise if we think about checking the church for wood and a source of fire. Might be wise to crash here for the night. Holy ground burns the Lost so we'll be safe here." Eyes back on Kitalia, he exhaled. "Don't overdo it," he warned before closing his eyes.
