Our postman has been aknockin', did you get our message?
We're sending out an email to everyone to see if the system is going to deliver it to you all, or just eat the majority as it has in the past (post be tasty, clearly!)
If you've received the email (check your spam folder as well as your inbox) then click on the link in it and it will bring you here to this thread (make sure you're logged in at the time or you'll just get a permissions error). We need you to do it that way as following the link completes the circle and lets the system know that your email is active.
If our mail ends up in your spam folder, do tell us who you use for email, so that we know who doesn't like us ;)
Because it's a bit of a pain to get random emails we're sweetening the deal for you a little by throwing a bit of gold in for your trouble. If you do things properly and follow that email link then post in here to say you got our mail, then you'll get a 250 gold bonus when you submit your post :)
Now you'll only get the gold bonus if you come to this thread via the link in the email, and you'll only get it for one post, so don't get any ideas about spamming things up in here, ok?
If you didn't receive the mail on your mule account, is this because you turned off the option to receive admin mail as we suggested to you a while back?
Thanks for helping us out everyone, we really appreciate it!
UPDATE: Having read through this thread (all of it!) I'll see if I can cover the questions that have been raised...
- If you didn't get your gold there's a good chance that you followed the link for the wrong account. Each link, though it looks the same, has the user ID of the account that it was sent to embedded in it. That ID is linked to the email you use for that account, so if you're logged into your main, but you follow the link in your mule's email (or vice versa) you won't get your bonus.
So feel free to try again using the correct account/link combination this time :)
- The reason the mail is landing in so many people's spam folders is because of the volume sent out in one go. As the system has managed to send a lot more this time without exploding, email services are looking at it like :stare: because they think all bulk mail with the same title is spam.
- If you haven't received mail at all, there are currently just over 4000 undelivered/returned messages in the Support email's spam box...most can't be delivered at all as the addresses are inactive and so on, but there are 120 that are currently queued and may arrive yet.
- If you have mail sent to main and mule then it's perfectly fine to post with both in here, just make sure you use the right link for the right account.
I'll add more if I spot more things that need answering :)
