I'd LOVE to read stories with thousands of words, but imagine the poor artists later when they have to read ALL the entries to decide on what inspires them to draw.

Am I allowed a wee bit of leeway on grammar if my entry is in poem form?

This could be cute. I'm nervous about the length restrictions, but I totally understand.

And I already have an idea for the pickle.

I find the idea of a pickle funny, mostly because in my family, we have this tradition that's been passed down where every year we put up the tree, and there is a pickle ornament. The adults hang it and let the children find it. The person who finds the pickle gets a special gift that year. I don't remember how it started, I feel like it's a German thing, but when JC and I were young, our cousins and relatives would go to the grandparents' house and on Christmas morning, look for the pickle.
Usually JC found it... *sigh

That's a pretty interesting tradition! Is there any reason for it being a pickle? xD

I think I first learned about the pickle thing when I went to Christmas lights thing. Church decorated their grounds with lights and had stands with food and drinks and little activities and such. It was really cute and fun. But I got this tiny card with the story of the Christmas Pickle and it was all basically what Admiral said. Whoever found the pickle first got to open a special present or the first one maybe. I kept it taped to my computer monitor for yeeears until I realized I didn't use the monitor anymore, and decided to recycle it. I took the story off, but I don't remember what I did with it.
I think it's still kind of a mystery where the story and stuff originated from, but here's the Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_pickle
