I can't stand it - well no. I don't mind individual pings (most of the time) it's that stupid my friends ping that I hate.
Because as soon as someone quotes it pings all over again. -.-

yeah but that's what the delete button is for lol. It's a very useful ping to have available.

See... I wouldn't mind it if people KNEW NOT TO QUOTE IT...
It is handy. BUT being pinged to the same thread 2 to 3 times because people Apparenrly don't know NOT to quote it... That's what pisses me off. -.-
We will have to agree to disagree but I ask to drop it because it's only frustrating me. We are allowed to have differing opinions.

Just know that if someone sends the my friends ping out I am most likely not going to want to post there.

i try to remember who doesn't like pings
well and try to remember people likes and dislikes
i do use the pings during event because RAK gives
away some expenive items and i wouldn't want to
exclude anyone and look like i'm playing favorites

i usually add the disclaimer
about quoting and repinging
but i get in a hurry and forget
i don't want to edit, the repings

yeah i have had people complain
i don't give enough, i don't spend enough
your friends always win and so on
so i have a large friendlist and ping em all
especially when it's a rare item up for gives

Honestly the only real way to avoid them is just to not add people.

It's okay.
It happens.

And that's not cool of people to complain! :(
People always seem to find something or another to complain about.

I find it ironic, I just posted in a welcome thread about some of us old geezers still being clueless about the site.. and y'all talking about different kinda pings and I'm over here like '???'

the one ping brings the individual to your post
like @ hummy ; with no spaces
the other brings all the friends to the threadie

Pretty much - the friends one will make me not want to post - especially if multiple quote to ping me to the same thread.

I always remind people not to quote the post.

It seems though like someone usually does.
