I just came back from seeing this movie and OH MY GOD it is quite possibly the greatest movie I have ever seen. I went to see it with quite a large group of friends, and everyone loved it, and everyone thought it was hilarious and amazing. I mean, it has Batman AND a character voiced by Morgan Freeman. What more could you want?

Seriously, it was a hilarious, and even beautiful, very detailed film. And its super annoying theme song is actually pretty great as well.

I went to see it with my friend a couple months ago, right after it came out. I wasn't sure I was going to like it, I just thought it'd be cool to spend some time with him. But it turned out to be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! I frequently forgot it was a movie meant for kids. Really, only the lightning-fast pacing and a few of the jokes reminded me it was a kids' movie.

My favorite bit was Batman's song. DAARRRKNESSS! NO PARENTS!

Batman's song was so great, I loved it.

Also! Wyld Style (I don't care, it's totally spelled with a Y) was the freaking embodiment of the scene phase but still managed to be a rounded out character with ambitions and agency and I think that's absolutely amazing. Teen girl/love interest characters can so often be really one dimensional and it's nice to see people not fall into that trap.

Yeah, I thought that interesting! She was pretty tropey but also existed as an actual character. I wasn't sure what to think about her.

Wow, neat! After the movie I had to go look up if he was an actual lego character from the 80s and was surprised when I found that he was. You could sell that thing for a pretty penny, now!

I'm pretty sure every single character from the movie was at some point an actual Lego character.

I'm not so sure about Lord Business or Wyld Style.

Well, there were special Lego Movie minifigures released, so they're Lego characters now :)
