FAQ's

What happens if my artist does not contact me after the auction?
If it's only been a few days, give them some time. If it's been more than 1 week since the auction has ended, please contact steelmagghia or clariusflorina and we will work out a solution.

Can I bid for more than 50G at a time?
Yes, whether it is 50, 100, 200, 750, etc... As long as it is divisible by 50.

If I plan on using an item as part of my payment, do I mention it in my bid?
No, you're bids will be in gold. Once it is time to pay, then however much the item is worth will be deducted out of the total gold you have to send in the trade to steelmagghia.

What if the item I want to use as payment is worth more than the current average MP price?
Rather than working out how much every item should be worth, and people accidentally thinking their item is worth less or more than we think, it's simpler just to go with the average market price. If you don't agree with the price, than only offer what you can pay in pure.

Welcome to the Desert Winds Caravan-Artist Auction 2.0!

The auction was made in order to raise money to fund our User-Run event of 2014. The success of the first one convinced us to do another auction, using new and old artists! As the title would suggest, we are holding a public sale for art commissions by various artists! Each artist has information on the kind of commission they are willing to make, so please take a look at their specifications before bidding. At the end of the auction, all proceeds made will be donated to the User-Run Event Fund. We hope to have an amazing URE this year!

If you come across any problems or have any questions, do not hesitate to ping Libra or Steelmagghia to your post in this thread.

• B I D D E R S
  • Auto-buy is available for most artists. The cost is 20,000
  • No mule-bidding, main accounts only please.
  • Do not edit your bid posts, as we want to make sure that the time for your post is accurate, and so we can more easily see who's bid was posted 1st.
  • No bids will be accepted before the official auction start post, nor after the official auction end post.
  • Payment is due within 48 hours of the auction end time.
  • Chatting is welcome in between bids.

  • Once we have confirmed that payment has been received from the winning bidder, we will ask you to contact them immediately about their commission.
  • We ask you to finish the winner's piece as soon as possible. We'd prefer it to be within 2 weeks. Up to 1 month is still acceptable, though keep the winning bidder aware of the delay.
  • We would like to see you around the auction thread once it is created (though it is not required), sometimes the bidders like to ask you questions.

• Items will be accepted at current average market value.
• The current value of any items you give will deduct gold from how much you owe our treasurer (Steelmagghia).
• If you are unable to pay within 48 hours of the auction end time, then the next highest bidder will win the artist.
• If you Auto-buy an artist, you can send your payment in earlier.

• Use the specific artist's form for your bid, unless you are auto-buying someone. Then use the Auto-buy form further down.
• Minimum bid increment of 50G, and keep it divisible by 50.
• Do not edit your form with a higher gold amount, each new bid amount requires a new form.
• Remove the space after the "@" sign in order to ping the appropriate host.
• If you forgot to fix the ping in your form, simply make a new post with a link to your bid.

The URE is a tribute we make to our fellow members, as well as a thank you to our staff. Multiple times a year our staff hosts wonderful events with interesting games and stories behind them. Well, we can't let them have all the fun can we? So a group of volunteers come together to create an event of our own! This year the votes came back that the majority of Menewsha wanted Desert Winds Caravan event! The URE is for our staff to sit back, relax, even play some games, while we show them that we can make a smashing and awesome event as well! You will find some interesting links below:

About The Art Auction

In March the volunteers were trying to come up with various ways to make money for the URE, and someone suggested that we auction off artists and the proceeds would be donated to the URE! After a week of epic bidding, 40,450 was raised in gold and prizes! Some of the artists and bidders were asking for another round for the auction, so steelmagghia and Libra came together again for the URE Art Auction 2.0! We are hoping to make even more gold this time around!
