Amy slid into the driver's side and started the car. She wasn't sure exactly where they would end up, but to start with, she got on the nearest interstate that had an eastbound side. They'd know where to stop when they got there.

Leandra let Amy drive for a while, though when they stopped to get some food she switched so she could drive for a while. She drove past Pittsburgh, though.

"Well, we've got some choices here. I can start heading south and we can hide in D.C., we can go to New York, there's some other options." She shrugged. "Any opinions?"

"New York," Amy said. "Not DC, too close to the people in power. New York is better, I think." She looked at her sister. "What say you?"

"Sure, New York sounds good to me." Leandra got onto the correct freeway to get there. "Should be pretty easy for us to get jobs there."

Amy nodded. It was fairly easy for her to get a job anywhere, if she really wanted, but she knew her sister didn't appreciate her 'subtle touch' sometimes.

"A new apartment and new jobs," she said. "Longer, this time."

"I like that idea." Leandra grinned and then brightened. "Hey, New York. Stark Industries has a branch in New York. I should apply there."

"They'd be fools to turn you down," Amy said, grinning a bit. "And you would make good money there."

"Yes I would." Leandra sighed happily. "I'll apply tomorrow. Tonight we can just a hotel room, we can search for jobs and apartments tomorrow."

Amy nodded. That sounded like a good plan to her. She had no idea where she would apply for work, but she'd find something eventually.

Leandra managed to find them a decent hotel and got a room for them, driving over in front of their room so they could take everything up to the room. She didn't want to leave any of her precious computer stuff in the car, after all.

Amy was less attached to her own possessions. Most of it was clothing and personal items, although she did have one or two items that had sentimental value that she made sure were in the bag she took inside.

Leandra took her shower before she settled down for the night, already making plans. Hopefully things would start looking up soon and they wouldn't have to move for a while.

Amy showered after her sister, but she didn't settle in right away. She was starting to feel a little anxious and fidgety; it happened sometimes if she went too long without using her power, or if she was stressed. And having to move again definitely counted as stress.

Leandra noticed and frowned a bit. "Need to go work off some energy?" she asked, looking over at her. "We can drive over and sit outside a club or something."

"No--no, I'm..." Amy trailed off, shaking her head for a moment. "No. I'm not restless. I keep wanting to start a harem of thralls." It wasn't easy for her to admit, and she said it quietly, but she knew her sister would understand. "I keep wanting to go out and just control people."

Leandra nodded. She of all people understood. "It's okay," she said quietly. "We expected that, remember? Besides, hopefully you won't have to ignore it forever. If I can get this working right, you won't have the urge to control people anymore, just the ability to."

"I know," Amy said. "I'm trying so hard... I just keep picturing what it would be like. People under my command to take care of our needs. Playing with them like puppets." She twisted her hands in the hem of her shirt.

Sighing softly, Leandra moved over to sit next to her instead. "Try not to think about it, if possible. Otherwise, think about a man-harem. Not in a controlled way, just think about how awesome it would be to have a voluntary man-harem." She grinned.

Amy nodded a bit and leaned against her sister.

"Thanks," she said softly.

"No problem." Leandra stayed there for a while to make sure Amy was really okay before she tried to settle down to sleep again.

Amy was up a little before Leandra the next morning. She went out on a quick walk around the block, stopping to pick up some real coffee on her way back before heading back up to the room. She set Leandra's coffee on the nightstand next to her to entice her into waking up.

Leandra yawned as she woke up, rolling over closer to the smell of coffee and then waking up properly so she could get up and drink her coffee while it was still hot.

"Morning," she greeted quietly.

"Morning," Amy replied. "Took a walk around the block, it seems safe enough still."

"Good." Leandra grinned. "Then we can start looking for places to stay and get jobs. Sound like a good plan?"

Amy nodded.

"Sounds like a plan to me," she said.
