Everyone's family is different. It's nice to be close to them though <3

My dog is close enough. If she was any closer, she'd be in my lap eating from my plate. She's waiting for me to give her scraps.

I feel more strongly about dear friends and my own freakin' fictional characters.

Dogs are the bestest. Although, I put my plate on the bench next to my bed, and my dog who was on the bed, decided to walk over and chow down on all the stuff on it while I was in the bathroom! It was only scraps that I probably would have fed to her later, but the fact that she decided to just eat it off the plate so brazenly got me! She's usually so good about it. It reminds me of when she was a tiny puppy. I'd been sitting on a pillow on the floor, eating at the coffee table. I got up to go get something and she got up on the pillow and stood up and it gave her just enough height to start eating fried rice off my plate! That little pudgey pup!

My dog will sit near me whenever I have food, and will inch closer to me when I look away. It's adorable. And she constantly stares at the food [not me] as if it's going to run away. I find it so hilarious but sometimes annoying.

Yeah, my pup is a prime vulture. If someone goes in the kitchen, she has to go too. Last night when I was eating, she sat behind me just staring, the whole time, waiting for me to give her these bits of fat from the meat I was eating. And in the end she just helped herself!

I want to say I have a picture of her doing that when she was a puppy, but it might just be burned into my mind for eternity because it was adorable.

I take a picture of my dog every time she begs for food. Just because.

I had a puppy once that would see itself in the mirror but wouldn't make the connection that he was seeing himself. He just thought it was another dog.

Yup. It's interesting how we can recognize ourselves, but dogs can't.

I feel like self-aware dogs would judge us. As it is, they just accept us and love us.

If my dog became self aware she'd be even more of a princess than already.

Seriously, my dog already thinks she's the queen of the universe. If she was self-aware...then she would be. She'd totally take over!

Well, it's just that my family spoils her. My grandparents treat her like their favorite grandchild. She just knows she's special.

She's pretty aloof with other dogs. She wants to sniff them, but she doesn't want to play with them. It's like "Okay peasant, I have sniffed your bum, you may leave. Seriously though, leave me alone!"
