((it's alright that's not your fault *hugs* just take care of yourself and don't worry about it okay? We'll just say your characters got separated from whoever they interacted with and safely back to their dorm rooms ^.^ Then you can pick up from there whenever.))

After Coza and Izzy had finished their lesson, Coza went to take a nap while she scribbled in her book, this one quite different from the other one from before. For starters, it was made with black leather rather than brown. More importantly, it was full of equations and symbols, runes really. The shamans of her tribe had put much stock into such things. A proper rune could amplify magic, or change the magic in some way. It was really interesting to think about. Runes could also be used to create barriers and wards, or even magical traps. The only downside was that they lasted only as long as the rune remained in tact.

Currently, she was working on combining various runes into a new formula for defense. Hopefully, it would be stronger than those she had already memorized, She definitely didn't want that murderer getting her or Coza, or any of their friends either. The fact that knowing so many runes was of dire importance to their magic, it had been tradition to ask a stranger to see their rune book upon first meeting them. In exchange, the asker's would be offered to the stranger and knowledge would be shared equally.

When she was halfway done with her first formula, she was interrupted by a strange feeling. Immediately, she switched to her other vision and began to follow the blue cloud of depressed anger and frustration. Normally, she could only get vague feelings of what others were feeling while not in the sight, but whatever it was was strong enough to give her a pretty good impression before she ever saw it.

As deep into the sight as she was, it was amazing that Izzy wasn't blinded by the flows of magic coming from Evvie when she found her. Like most shamans, her sight was gifted with the added ability of seeing how magic moved but only if she focused. She and her tribe held to the supposed fact that it was a gift from the king of the gods to their people, and it came with the ability to see spirits. As magic was the spirit of the caster put forth, it allowed the shaman to see it, if only by a loophole.

Regardless, she didn't say anything as she watched the beautiful swirls of color and magic flowing around the older girl. Of course, she knew that she was facing some tough emotional turmoil, but her life had conditioned her to those sorts of things. In short, she didn't feel particularly moved by Evvie's emotions. Instead, she was waiting to be spoken to, another common tradition among her people; elders spoke to you, and not the other way around unless they were family.

Evvie

Evvie glanced over, distracted by the sudden appearance of someone else. If she hadn't she might have noticed the rat that suddenly scurried up her body and bit her hand just as she released her already aimed arrow. The bespelled arrow slammed into one of the rocky formations above, blasting it apart as the sound of pain she made from the bite also caused the spell to be mispronounced. Thousands of rocky pieces came slamming downward, some straight for Evvie's head. As the rat fell away the spell controlling it did as well and began to crumble and die, though it was speared by one of the shafts of rock anyway so it's death was mercifully short.

The stone showed Evvie no such mercy as she glanced up and briefly became paralyzed. When things were planned out or she expected it she could react, such as when she found a misbehaving student or was facing a known foe or in a wizard duel. The sky falling was not so expected, however, so for a moment she could not react. Flamma the phoenix, however, was not so slowed and instantly shot forward to knock her out of the way. Her bow fell from her hand, smashed by the large pieces that would have broken her to bits just as easily.

As she landed, however, her left arm would be pierced by many of the still falling stones and she let otu a cry of pain. For a moment she could only lay there, broken and bleeding. She was dazed by hitting her head on the stone floor but the pain of her arm, with its broken bones and sliced tendons broke cruelly through the fog. She began bleeding profusely on the concrete even as flamma used her talons to pull a rock from her arm. The phoenix then attempted to cry on the wound, only to find it barely seemed to have any effect at all......The ancient magic of the early native americans who built this place still held in this stone, including a spell that made the rocks, and any wound they made, resist magic of all kinds.

Thoroughly enjoying the show of magic, Izzy was content to say nothing and do nothing, at least until Evvie's arrow struck the rock formation and sent shrapnel flying everywhere, including at her. Immediately, she ducked behind the low edge of the balcony with her hands over her head and pulled into as tight a ball as possible. Even though physics dictated that she would certainly get a decent amount of injury from the explosion of rock, they seemed to... avoid her. It was almost as if they were specifically aiming at Evvie. More interesting than that was the glow seeping out of every crack in the rocks to her eyes. Clearly, magic had something to do with it all.

Still, that interesting piece of information only held her attention for a little bit before she looked to check on Evvie. The sight of the prefect laying there injured was not a comforting one at all. Still, Izzy had never been one to panic over anything, so she stood up, brushed herself off, and darted over. The first thing that Izzy thought to do was stop the bleeding. It was pretty bad from all of the cuts in her arm. So, using her finger and Evvie's blood, she traced a series of runes onto her arm: blood, stop, and heal. Despite the fact that she knew what she was doing, it was still a relief to see the blood stop pouring out.

The flap of wings alerted her to Coza, who had come at the twang of desperation through their bond. Fearing the worst, he had brought her bags of herbs and other magical plants, a very fortunate occurrence. Knowing better than to sit on her shoulder at such a time, he perched himself on the balcony and waited for her to need him for something specific. Izzy paid him little mind as she went about mixing together several herbs that would inhibit blood flow by increasing the rate of cauterization and reduce the inflammation of what were surely broken bones, as well as what appeared to be severed tendons.

It only took her a few moments to have the ingredients, and, due to a flash of inspiration, Flamma's tears, crushed up into a thick paste. At that point, she sent Coza to grab her canteen of water, which he did immediately. Due to their proximity to the dorm, he wasn't gone for long, and came back bearing the desired item. Nodding, she took it from him and used the cool water to wash the wound, letting the blood flow away and, unfortunately, soak into their clothes. Izzy paid little mind as she applied the salve to the now-clean wounds before bandaging them with special leaves. They were also magical, and would allow the magic of the salve to seep into the arm itself to heal it.

With all that done, she sent Coza away to get someone, a lead that Flamma followed rather quickly. Where the phoenix went, Izzy had no idea, but it was probably to get help. Fortunately, Evvie's life was no longer in any danger, but that didn't mean it couldn't be later. That's why Izzy didn't leave her side, even though the rocks begged to be studied to find out what magic they contained.

Evvie
Evvie, only half conscious, could only moan as her arm was touched. She drifted more out then in for a moment, her mind scrambling to something else. She muttered something, something that sounded like it contained 'sorry' and 'alistair', before she went silent. Still after a few minutes she became half conscious again as she stared up at Izzy. At least she thought it was Izzy, her glasses made it hard to tell as there appeared to be cracks through them. She gazed up at her a moment, confused.

"I...izzy?" Evvie seemed to have forgotten she'd been there and seemed puzzled to see her there. She bit her lip, tears coming into her eyes a moment. The pain was fading but she realized she couldn't move her arm. She only glanced up as she heard footsteps after a fifteen minutes or more passed. The nurse would have her own bag and began to cast spells. Each time she tried a spell purely Europe based Evvie could only scream and writhe in pain. The nurse quickly figured out what she needed to do and with the help of izzy's earlier work soon had the wounds closed and the bones as well as tendons starting to mend. After that the Nurse began to lift her with a levitation spell and take her towards the hospital wing. She didn't seem to intend to keep izzy from following, her mind so focused on keeping her patient from knocking into anything and her arm supported that she probably didn't notice.

Even though Evvie called her name, Izzy didn't reply, the arrival of the nurse cutting her off. The screams of pain as the old magic warred against the old made her wince every time, tears welling up in her eyes as she was resigned to simply watching and waiting. Clearly the rocks had done something to prevent the use of newer magic, instead relying on the older magic of the tribes to be healed. Curious, she threw a couple into her pocket for later study as the nurse finished up and began to move away from the scene.

As the nurse took Evvie away, Izzy made sure to follow, feeling that her friend would need someone she knew nearby later when she woke up. Still, as she walked, she couldn't help but examine the stones. They were beautiful, but humming with magic to her second sight. Clearly, the ancient peoples had done something to the land to try and keep some other people out. Rather curious. She would have kept examining it, but by then, she stepped into the nurse's office and put it away to avoid having it confiscated.

Evvie
The nurse laid Evvie down on one of the hospital beds, surrounding it with a few shamanic symbols to help her heal. The nuse couldn't help but show her concern though... the usual ways of bypassing the rocks didn't seem to be fully working and she doubted the tendons and muscle would ever truly heal back to full capacity. Then again none of the outside 'guardian' stones had ever been shattered before, let alone pierced a limb multiple times like tiny spears. The nurse seemed surprised to see Izzy but let her stay, she was a witness so the teaches may want to talk to her. Evvie, meanwhile, could only whimper every now and then as she drifted through a state of half waking, half sleeping until finally some of the herbal scents began to wake her.

"I...Izzy? w..What happened? I remember i was lining up a shot then...nothing." She asked the other girl, a hint of fear in her voice. She glanced to her arm, using her good arm to touch the bandages. Why wasn't magic healing it properly? She knew there was some innate magic left by the ancients who originally constructed the place, not that anyone really knew for sure very much about them, but this had been different. Had her having been using a weapon triggered more defensive spells perhaps? She glanced at the nurse as if looking for answers but the nurse only looked away, and that scared Evvie more. Still she said nothing as the nurse hurried off to tell the teachers. A teacher would head to each dorm, saying only that a prefect had been hurt if asked, the earlier death making them nervously worry that Evvie had been attacked instead of had an accident and wanting to make sure the students were protected inside the dorms as well.

Mara
Mara watched as a teacher entered the dorm, watching as the teacher approached the head prefect and then the unicorn shaped spirit. She overheard the teacher tell each that prefect student had been hurt and that they were simply there as an added precaution due to the headmistress being 'paranoid'. The teacher didn't believe that, she could see to much fear in the teacher's eyes, but it was likely the excuse used to keep the students calm. She frowned, thinking about the missing gerani student. One had finally shown up but the other was still missing. Not that anyone had noticed yet.... Now that the teacher was here almost everyone was too afraid.

((there XD an opportunity for you to get your gerani back in the dorm without getting in trouble ange. Mara's sitting near the door and will help sneak her in... then probably pester her with questions about wth is going on.))

((A npc teacher will be entering all dorms so that should give students something to do, and Al something to do since he's head prefect.))
