Story:

It's hard to believe that it only happened fifty years ago. December 21, 2012; the day the supers vanished. Of course, no one is really sure what happened to them or where they went. Some believe that they were killed and cremated overnight. Others say that they were kidnapped. Regardless of what they say, the fact is that the world seems a bit dimmer without them around. A guy can't even walk in the Big Apple without getting mugged anymore. Crime rates skyrocketed now that crooks don't have to worry about superheroes like Spider-man or the X-men stopping them. It's simply a cryin' shame. The children don't even care anymore! Most of them just believe the supers to be legends; myths; stories.

The world was full of crime and filth so vile that the man on the moon had to hold his nose as he passed over. And the leaders of the world couldn't do a thing to stop it. People with special talents were also looked at kind of funny ever since then. Good at math? Tested for a superpower. Good at card tricks? Examined for magic or mutation. Good at cleaning toilets? They tested you for superpowers. See, once they were gone, the governments of the world didn't want them back. Too much power in too few hands they claimed. Whether or not their power was too great seems irrelevant now.

But that's not the worst thing. The governments of the world are acting like someone smashed an antfarm on their backsides. Something's got them in a tizzy, but they won't tell anyone what it is. Scientists aren't being so secretive though. Especially the astronomists. They say they see something coming with their large telescopes; something that just passed into the Milky Way Galaxy last year. Whatever it is, it's sure taking it's time, but that doesn't mean that those of us who still remember the supers aren't missing them right now. I tell you, we'd do almost anything to get them back, because right now, we're in for one hell of a ride.

Rules:

  1. If it comes to the point where I have to make a decision, that decision is final, though I'll be more than happy to explain anything.
  2. I reserve the right to change these rules as I see fit.
  3. You are not all-powerful. every character must have some weaknesses.
  4. Due to the story, you can not have your character be the child of another hero. Sorry.
  5. Please keep OOC chat to the OOC thread.
  6. Please do not fight OOC. There's no reason for that at all.
  7. If you have a problem, send me a pm and we can try and work it out. ;)
  8. Do not control another person's character without their permission.
  9. Try and post at least a paragraph. It just makes it easier for everyone else. :3
  10. PM all characters to me with the title: Avengers Assemble!

Bio: Haru was born from a clan who was big into spiritual essence, and shadows, on a planet which translated to english would mean Shadow Moon. He was supposed to be the heir of the clan, and was born under the full moon, which to them was a holliday for their god. He was reveired as their walking saint in a way, the child of not really his parents, but their god instead. As he grew, he exibited his powers, which caused them to fear and worship him. His clan however came under a war, and to aquire victory, their rivals kidnapped him. He managed to escape while they were trying to transport him. He traveled to earth on a pod, and crashed landed. He has spent his time blending into the surrounding culture, while both clans look for him. He does not want to go home, and hopes to begin a life of his own here.

Powers: His abilities are more spiritual, he has Astral projection, as well as Mediumship, the ability to see and communicate with the dead. Along with this, he also has the psionic ability of empathy. This allows him to steal emotions from others, rendering them emotionally "numb". He is also able to force outside emotions into other people, it also allows him to absorb the pain of injured people to ease their suffering, and induce rapid healing. These are more defensive and calm abilities, for offince, he has the ability to control, manipulate and or generate pure shadows and darkness. He is able to use this to cause pain, tension, and fear-based illusions. His last ability is Psychokinesis, by using his mind, and surrounding things in a shadow like energy, he is able to move them.

Equipment/Weapons: He carries a sword, that is usually disguised as a necklace that looks like this. When it is fully grown it looks like this

Age: 18
Gender: Female

Alignment: Hero
Bio: She lived with her rich mother until she was seven and her mother died. She would then move in with her father. She would spend a wonderful nine years with him, traveling the world and exploring archeological sites. She came to love her father more then she’d ever loved her cold and distant mother with her pretentious, arrogant friends. When she was 17, however, her blissful childhood would pass into adulthood most violently.

She found a strange stone pressed into the wall of a temple one day. She touched it and the spiritual power she had allowed it to activate. It opened a trap door that lead to a long stair case. One of the stairs would break under her weight as she tried to climb them and she would fall into a stone quarry far beneath the earth. The stone was in fact the inspiration for the myths of the alchemist stone and this was the only place in the world it could be found.

The fall nearly killed her but the stone would began to meld with her body through the open wounds. It would have finished the job if she had lacked spiritual powers but instead she would become a living philosopher’s stone of sorts. As the ‘elixer of life’ contained in the stone’s radiation began to heal her she would be found by her father. He was not so lucky as her and when he dropped in to try and save her he would be killed by the stone, his body turned to stone. She now tries to use the powers she gained from the transformation for good, to deal with the guilt she feels for her father’s death. She also runs her mother’s company now after turning eighteen, mainly over the phones.

Powers: She has regeneration, does not age, can turn her body to stone/metal, and can transform anything inanimate object she touches to anything she wishes. She can make a rock into a chicken if she wants to! The transformations last no more than ten minutes however, and can last as little as 30 seconds depending on how much difference she must make and how much concentration she has when she does. Gold also acts as the equal of her kryptonite, actually causing damage where it touches even when she is in stone/metal form. Regeneration also takes up all her energy so she cannot use her other powers and heal at the same time.

Equipment/Weapons: Size Changing, Metal staff.

Bio: Sam was born in Jerusalem, where his fiery appearance was quickly taken as a sign from the heavens and he was given the name of the Archangel of life and death. This name soon became a burden as he developed his powers at an early age, accidentally draining plants and farm animals of life. His parents quickly took him back to their home in the US where they kept him fairly hidden from the world, even paying off investigators that came snooping.

His father, a professor of occult and religious practices, worked with Samael to discover the nature of his powers. Taking knowledge from texts from various cultures around the world, he formulated a way for Samael to harness the energies and manipulate them. Once he had enough control, the family returned to the middle-east where Sam helped his father in his studies.

After several years of traveling, Samael left for the US to seek out and "study" other supers. In his search he as found himself with an alter-ego of his own, prowling the streets of New York after the sun goes down.

Powers:He has the ability to tap into, manipulate and absorb what you could call "cosmic" energy; the life-force that is in all natural and living things. He can redirect the energies to heal himself and others, create tangible objects such as shields and weapons and create/control the elements in small to moderate amounts. In order to do so, he must take the energy from things around him or himself if nothing else is available.

A side effect of drawing from the life-force of other things is his aging process has slowed down nearly to a halt, as his own life-force is constantly being replenished instead of lessening as he grows older. He has also discovered that draining a living creature of all of it's energy gives him a brief stint of seeming immortality, giving his abilities a large boost as well as allowing him to heal very quickly. The larger the creature the life-force was from, the longer the effects.

His major weakness is man-made objects and materials. Fashioned glass, concrete and plastic/rubber all inhibit his abilities as they not only have no natural energies, but block the flow of them. Due to this, he has trouble using his powers to their full extent within the city, having to rely on the patches of plants, stray animals and himself for energy to work with. Another drawback is he only seems to be able to heal other supers, and only those with innate or natural gifts.

Equipment/Weapons: He creates his weapons through his ability, preferring curved swords to anything, but will attempt to work with other weapons should the situation call for it.

Sexual Orientation: straight? She hasn't really figured it out.
Alignment: good
Bio: Eva grew up in a well-off family, the only child of a corporate executive and his shut-in wife. Her mother tried to raise her well, with quite a bit of help from her grandparents, and Eva thinks they did a pretty good job. Her grandfather ended p instilling a strong sense of justice in her, telling her stories of the old superheroes. She joined an after school gymnast class late in her elementary schooling, following through with that until the end of high school, when her father insisted on adding self- defense, in the form of martial arts classes. It was in high school that she developed her powers, when her grandfather's pacemaker stopped working suddenly. She was the only one in the room with him, and accidentally caused a spark that started it up again.
After high school, and learning how to control her powers, she decided to become a hero. But the suburb she was living in didn't have much in the way of crime. She started looking for an excuse to go into the city, settling on college as both that excuse, and a smart next step in life anyway. She's taking basic classes and keeping up on her exercises, and has started stalking the city at odd hours.

Powers: Electrokenisis, meaning she can create and control electricity. She can create a static charge within her body, loosing it on her chosen target through her hands, creating a bolt of electricity arcing through the air and stunning whatever it hits. She can also ramp this up, scorching with the blast, though she has a lower chance of actually hitting her target. She can also drain or charge electrical devices, acting as a sort of living battery. When charged up, she has to avoid accidentally grounding the energy, meaning she can't touch metal or water, with water possibly shocking her as the electricity discharges. Also, if she used her shock too often, or powers it too high, she can burn her fingertips.
Equipment/Weapons: When not stalking the city, she has a can of mace in her bag, as well as a utility knife and other things she might need through the day. When dressed up, she doesn't see a need to carry anything. She also carries around copper wire for conducting electricity.
Appearance: (I don't have a picture, but I'll try to get one up before too long) Eva stands about 5'6", with a thin athletic frame and moderate curves. Her hair is black, falling loose to her lower back and framing an oval face with well defined features and grey eyes. She usually has a headband to keep her hair out of her face, and she tries to wear clothing that accents her lightly tanned skin. The type of clothes she prefers are slim fitting pants with feminine blouses.

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Sexual Orientation: She's fairly sure she's straight, but HEY! She's in college, what does she know.
Alignment: For the moment, Neutral-but often leans towards hero.

Bio: Born in the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin, Amaryllis lived a simple life. She grew up with a brother six years her senior and parents who'd regretted many decisions. Being born with the x-gene shouldn't have been a problem until she'd hit puberty, but Amaryllis was unlucky and blessed at the same time. Her psychic abilities developed at toddlerhood, which helped her gain much control over the years-saving her a lot of grief through puberty.

Unaware of the issue her abilities would cause her if the world found out, Amaryllis used them quite often in school. She manipulated the minds of other students, stole answers, changed memories, and had plenty of fun. When she reached age fourteen they were called. Living in such a small area didn't cause much panic, so a regional associate was sent to assess the situation for further or no action. With her years of practice, Amaryllis altered his mind and forced him to believe that she was no more that an ordinary-but quirky young woman who would need no further supervision. She learned after this frightening encounter to keep much more quiet about her abilities, let her grades slip slightly to ease suspicion, and moved as far away from Wisconsin as she could handle.

Currently Amaryllis works in a comfortable little coffee shop, goes to school part time, and has high hopes to find love. What she doesn't realize is that there's another calling out there for her.

Powers: Amaryllis has several telepathic abilities, including very limited telekinetic powers.

She can

-Read thoughts and memories

-Manipulate the memories, thoughts, and feelings of others

-Hover up to 10 feet from any vertical or horizontal surface, moving much faster than a person can run-however if she loses concentration or is too fatigued she'll lose this ability. If she's hovering while she loses concentration, she hits the ground--hopefully softly.

-Create psychic blasts, causing mental damage ranging anywhere from a superficial headache to brain hemorrhaging-in severe cases.
Her Weaknesses include

-the inability to manipulate the mind of someone with severe mental/emotional damage, retardation, or illness

-Physical attacks, she's not very strong

-Sudden, powerful emotions in her mental range. She is very empathetic and strong emotions can cause her abilities to spiral out of control-sometimes wiping recent memories from those around her.

Equipment/Weapons: A small palm gun-for protection in the big city.

In costume she also carries a night stick to bludgeon those she cannot manipulate in order to escape.

Age: 11
Gender: Female

Alignment: Neutral (Too young to really decide for herself, so she tends to swing both ways)
Bio: Beth grew up with her family in the outskirts of New York, also known as the Camp, when they were accused of harboring superpowers. Anyone who was tested for powers was taken to one of the various parts of the Camp, which was actually more of a slum than anything. Usually, only one member of a family was taken, but considering that both of her parents were taken, she was forced to go with them. Life at the Camp was pretty hard, especially at first. For starters, everyone over the age of three was expected to work in some capacity. She was four. Children and parents were also often separated for weeks at a time in different sections of the Camp, and a few times every week, they were taken to be tested, regardless of whether they had passed or failed before. The tests were always horribly brutal, their aim to push the test-taker to an extreme in hopes of awakening any suppressed power.

The work assigned to her as a toddler was really simple. Pulling weeds and cutting grass was really the only thing they had to do, but as they got older, the work got harder, and the stunting of their emotional growth was increased. Malnutrition and disease were also rampant, and a lot of kids died. That’s where she copied her first three powers, though she hadn’t known it at the time. Really, she was quite the leader. She managed to convince those who had powers and knew it to stand with her against their wardens, and broke free. Of course, they stole various clothing and such from the rich managers of the Camp to assist in their escape to the main city. Once free, the others decided to go their separate ways, leaving Beth heartbroken as she continued to New York alone, where she hoped she could find a way to save her parents.

Powers: Omega Level Mutant: Empathic Power Mimicry
  • Psionic Exo-armor
  • Telekinesis/Telepathy
  • Energy Absorbtion and Concussive Blasts
  • Sammael's Energy Manipulation
She also has the ability to stabilize unstable powers through direct skin contact, which can also help awaken powers or push them along. All powers are also copied at their fullest extent, and with perfect control over them. Her copying of another's powers is also permanent.
Weaknesses:
  • Despite perfect control, her power is much too great to be used in confined spaces with others
  • Emotions interfere with her powers
  • She can be really gullible
  • She is often inexperienced at using new powers despite her perfect control
  • Incredibly impulsive
  • Her copying range is potentially global, but further distances drain more energy. 100 yards is her limit with no negative side affects
  • Her -kinesis powers only affect things she can see
  • Her telepathic range is the same as her copying range
  • She can only copy powers from mutants

Equipment/Weapons: Nothing really. She’s a kid after all.
Appearance:
Costumed Appearance:
*She doesn't wear much else because she doesn't have much else. As it was, she just took it off of a guard because she thought it would help with colder weather*

Bio: Lexi was found spray-painting the side of a wall in an alley in New York. The sheer anger expressed in the image, as well as the detail and skill involved caught in the interest of the local gang, who took her in as one of their own despite her small size. Her parents had been taken to be tested for any superpowers, a process which killed them. Ever since, she’s been with the gang, sleeping in warehouses and performing various duties that the boss has for her. Her specialty is scouting and tagging due to her gymnastics background and small size. Her size is also the reason that she doesn’t get to participate in many fights, though she could probably handle her own in one on one combat.

One day when she was on one of her usual trips, she came across a moving pile of what seemed to be goo. Whenever she stopped, however, it turned as if to look at her, and white eyes appeared on it's surface. While freaked out, Lexi didn't feel any malevolent intent from the creature, and so stooped down to get a better look. That was when it touched her, wrapping around her arm briefly before talking to her mentally. It explained that it was looking for a host, and that without one, it would die. Feeling a synergy with the thing's status as an outcast, Lexi offered to allow it to bond on one condition: they worked together, not for themselves. The creature agreed and bonded with her eagerly, sharing it's history and thoughts with her.

Apparently the symbiote, for that was what it was called, had been conceived several years ago, but couldn't find a host to stay with it. It simply bonded long enough to get nourishment before moving onto the next host. It explained that it needed phenethylamine, which was found in human brains, and after some research, Lexi came to understand that it was found readily in chocolate, which is where she gets it from for the symbiote. Ever since the two have bonded though, they have used their abilities to help their gang, rapidly expanding its territory to become the largest gang in New York City.
Powers: Lexi became bonded to a symbiote, giving her all of the classical abilities of the symbiote-host partnership. Strangely enough, this bond dampens her innate power, which is the creation of powerful illusions. Also because of the symbiote's need for phenethylamine, she eats a ton chocolate.
Symbiotic abilities:
  • Strength amplification
  • Processing of breathable gases for host
  • Ability to form solid structures from its constituent matter
  • Camoflauge
  • Ability to manipulate tendrils of constituent matter
  • Slight empathic ability
  • Bulletproof
Equipment/Weapons: Pocketknife, backpack that normally holds paint spray cans for graffiti, and her lock-picks.

Bio: With the supers all gone, there was no one of value left for the Head of the Grecian mob to bribe into doing his bidding, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. Following rumors and the vague history of a superhuman crime lord, he devised a plan to create his own superhuman minion. Using poorly translated texts and broken Latin, he attempted to summon an other-worldly creature to possess his young son. The haphazard ritual worked, but not on who he intended.

Aingeal's parent's noticed strange things happening with their son when he was about six. He would stare at shadowy corners, talk and scream at empty rooms and cower when night fell. They kept this secret from the rest of their tight-knit family and took him to doctor after who attempted to treat him, but to no avail. Eventually, they realized the truth of his "illness", but it was too late. He had already been warped by the powers that had taken hold of him.

The head of their family found him when he was 20, and killed his parents out of rage. Aingeal escaped, then fled to the US where he's lived under a false name. While continuing his fight for control and understanding of his powers, he has become a vigilante of sorts, though one wouldn't exactly call his methods those of a hero's.

Powers: He is bound to the Umbra, the realm of darkness, and thus has a measure of control over the shadows. He can use them as an extension of his senses, even seeing and hearing things going on miles away, provided he has enough focus. He can also bring a part of the Umbra through the shadows, making them a tangible force that he can manipulate the shape of. Along with this, he has a slight ability to create illusions, bending the shape and balance of shadows and light to create temporary mirages. The most monumental feat is the ability to walk through the Umbra, using the darkest of shadows as gateways. Passive talents include making the shadows in an area grow and making existing darkness darker, to the point where even a flashlight can't light more than a few feet.
Equipment/Weapons: Throwing knives- ten small and three large, one of which has a long chain and weight.
Appearance: All together rather unimposing, despite his his strong shoulders and sturdy 5' 11" frame. His features are pleasing to the eye, a masculine jaw and full lips adding to his charm while his warm olive skin and the slight downwards tilt to his honey-brown eyes give him an almost sleepy "country" look. His thick hair falls in loose waves and spirals to the bottom of his shoulder blades and is dark brown with auburn undertones, making it shine a rich, deep copper in the sunlight. (I tried to draw him but it wasn't working, so hopefully a description is alright for now.)

Bio: Uriel once lived in a rather normal family, with loving parents and a newborn sister. All of that changed when his powers of illusion first manifested in the schoolyard when he was in first grade. The media flocked around the incident, broadcasting it all over.

What made it even more sensational was Uriel"s abrupt disappearance. For you see, he had been kidnapped by the supernatural underground. They were radicals, bent on destroying the government while preserving the rights of the people. He was trained thoroughly to use his abilities to fool people's senses to the utmost, and honed his body along with his powers.
Powers: He can create illusions so powerful they can fool the senses, but he can only work on two or three of the senses at a time. Vision, scent, touch, hearing, are the ones he tries to affect, with Vision and scent being his preferred ones.
Equipment/Weapons: A gun sits comfortably at his waist while hidden daggers adorn his wrists, and ankles. When going out to hunt his prey, whoever it might be, he also brings along a rapier.

Bio: Midas was born with his ability, making him a mutant, or one who possesses the X-gene. His powers didn’t appear until he was fourteen. But when they did, the government was all over his family like flies on honey. He couldn’t do anything to stop his powers, so they were found out. His parents were killed trying to defend him, and he was taken to the Camp in Alabama. Strangely enough, they broke the Evil Overlord codes by allowing him to live, figuring that his ability to create gold would make them rich. Needless to say, he broke out and began making his way north. His plan was to create a new nation for the super-powered, one where they wouldn’t be discriminated by the evil powerless.

Along the way, he discovered stories of a girl with powers who went around helping people and being a hero. After contemplating it for several weeks, he decided to seek her partnership, or, if she denied, kill her. While the description of her powers was fuzzy, he was led to the conclusion that she could kill him if she wanted, and he couldn’t have that.
Powers: Midas has an organic gold form, sort of like Colossus, though it eliminates the effects of aging. This provides him with increased strength, durability, and stamina, though it does slow him down a bit. He also gains the ability to discharge electricity through his skin for a short distance of about a foot due to gold’s great conductivity. His key power though, is the ability to turn anything he touches into gold, which he can then animate and use as a minion.

Fire also strengthens him, as gold is refined and tempered in flames. This, as well as molten gold, has the ability to heal him. He can even control molten gold telekinetically, though it is only good until the gold solidifies. Liquids at room temperature that he turns to gold are strangely unaffected by the transformation and remain liquid, although dropping them down to their own freezing point turns them into solid gold.

Witch Silver is his primary weakness, actually forcing his skin to revert to normal and inflicting severe wounds for seconds of contact. It is also the only substance which he cannot turn to gold as well. He also cannot control his ability to turn things to gold. Even things he eats and drinks morph, though his ability to process the metal as food keeps it from being fatal.
Equipment/Weapons: A golden sword (attempts to use a gun have backfired miserably)

His father was one of the most powerful vampires in the east, a man hell-bent on creating a dhampir- a rare kind of half vampire born from a mortal. The man got his wish and soon after his son was weaned; he dispatched of his “wife” and started to train the child to be a warrior like none the world had seen. Much to the vampire lord’s delight, the boy carried his mother’s power as well, the development of it spurred on by the often brutal discipline carried out when the child lashed out or disobeyed.

By the time Heiro was eighteen, he had taken more lives than he could remember, dispatching of his father’s enemies and allies alike- wherever he was told to go, whoever he was told to assassinate, he did. This continued until Heiro was twenty-six, when a well planned attack from another vampire clan killed much of his “family”, including his father. With no one to tell him where to go, Heiro fled, staying in Japan for a number of years before heading west, where he soon found more work in the broken underground. It did not take long for him to find a profession in taking the lives of supers, who were openly hated and feared here. When a particularly troublesome mutant or meta-human flees the government or wrecks havoc, The Red Tempest is called to finish the job. However, if there is no price on your head, don’t relax just yet- He hunts down powerful or troublesome supers for sport as well.

Powers: due to his unique genetics he not only has the basic, though weakened, powers of a vampire (enhanced senses, strength, healing, ect., slight mind control/hypnosis, ), but a power gifted to him through the X-gene- the control of water and water-based liquids. With this power he can freely move and change the qualities of liquids, including pressure, density and temperature. Over the years he has come to specialize in two fluids in particular- salt water and blood, the latter giving him the alias he now uses.

Weaknesses- He cannot be in the full sunlight for more than a few hours, staying any longer results in blistering sunburn, much like an allergic reaction. Wounds created by silver or an alloy with high silver content heal very slowly and can become infected, potentially killing him if too grievous. He must also feed on blood at least once a day, more if injured or in the sunlight for long.

Equipment/Weapons: Along with hand-to-hand combat, he is proficient in many kinds of weapons: daggers, various swords, some polearms, projectiles and small firearms. He carries two straight-bladed wakizashi, one utility knife, a small-caliber semi-automatic pistol and a canteen of ocean water.

Appearance: ( might get a picture later, if I can find one I like >< ) 6 feet tall, broad shouldered and long-limbed, his lean frame covered in lithe muscles that give him a “swimmers” build. His almond-shaped, midnight-blue eyes are set into a face that is almost feminine, though a masculine jaw and a jagged scar from his left brow to right cheek breaks the illusion. His raven black hair is dead-straight, sleek and mid-back in length, most often tied back loosely with a silk ribbon of a dark color.

Bio: Gabby was born, ironically, at the center of Stonehenge in Britain during a Druidic festival. Considering that her birth took place during the peak of the ceremony, there were great hopes for her as a Druid. As she grew up, she didn’t disappoint either. Her magic was the highest the clan had seen in generations, evidence that she had been born at that time for a reason. She performed her lessons dutifully and to the best of her ability for most of her childhood, never really understanding why the adults treated her like she was special. Her innocent ignorance lasted until her family was killed by the government, which had adopted the United States’ stance on people with super powers.

A Gypsy caravan saved her from the ruins of her home, taking her in and teaching her a bit of their magic as well, though it was mainly potion-making and such. Still, her time with them proved to be wonderful for her mental health. Her depression and thoughts of suicide vanished like smoke. Just like her early childhood, it simply proved to be a temporary arrangement. Several years after the Gypsies had taken her in, a plague swept through the group, killing all of them within a week.

Depressed and broken again, Gabby wandered her native Romania until the government got ahold of her and sent her to an orphanage. Before too long, a wealthy gentleman adopted her, though he was never as warm as the Gypsies had been. By then, Gabby had all but given up on a family and so was content to take his money and use it and his connections to get her hands on the Book of the Dead, as well as other tomes of magic that taught her all she needed to know to be a Necromancer.

The sudden sales of the ancient books were actually what brought her to her mentor. The man walked right up to her house the one day, flashing phony identification to get past security. He was pretending to be from a prestigious academy that was interested in her in order to meet her and secure some private time to talk. There they came up with a plan, though she was suspicious at first. The idea was for her to go to ‘lessons’ every day but the weekend so that he could teach her all he knew about magic. He taught her to desire power above all else and implanted the notion of becoming a vampire for said power.

Unlike her time with the gypsies, the bond she shared with her mentor was never severed. But he still felt it best that they go their separate ways once she had a firm grasp of the magic and the ideals that he had taught her. Occasionally they visit each other as friends, rather than former master and student. They typically discuss magical theory and new discoveries that they had made while apart. It was certainly a good way to keep growing at the very least. The lust for power that he had instilled upon her prompted her to continue searching for a way to become stronger until she found one: vampirism

Eventually, and with much searching, she chanced upon a vampire who was feeding from a helpless man in a back alley. Desiring the power, both physical and magical, of a vampire, she demanded that he turn her. Instead of responding though, he simply fled to relay the request to his leader. That was how she found herself back at her birthplace a month later under the new moon. The council of the sect went through their normal ceremony where they explained everything that would be expected of her. When she agreed, the leader turned her.

After acclimating to her new body and taking various lessons given to new vampires, the Kreiger sect sent her to America to help out their allies in any way possible, given the recent encroachment of a rival sect. And so that’s how she found herself in New York City, the home of supers.
Powers: Gabby is a Necromancer first and foremost. Her abilities to raise the undead are quite impressive, which is a clear sign of the magical potential in her, despite her young age. She can raise about a hundred ghosts at a time, fifty skeletons, twenty-five zombies, and one vampire. She can raise any dead creature, of course. The only rule is that the more alive a creature is, the more energy it takes. Vampires are a rather unique case, as they don’t disappear when she’s done with them. Instead, they live on. But she can still only summon one during a full or new moon. She can also control plague to an extent, creating diseases in her magic. Her direct attacks typically consist of death energy, which can kill most things immediately. Larger things tend to take it better, only becoming sick or such. Also, supers tend to better take the magic, only suffering about as much a bear would.

Gabby also has a large collection of druidic spells, having been trained as a druid first. As such, she can control plants, summon animals and other creatures, and even shapeshift. More often than not though, she sticks to her necromancy, or a simple generic spell, like fire or ice. Her nature magic is more valuable when it’s a surprise after all. The weaknesses of her magic vary depending on what she's doing exactly. Pure attacks, like a fireball, are more easily absorbed by cloth, especially silk. Most of her direct attacks require little concentration, so it's hard to interrupt them there, but it is possible. Her larger, more indirect spells require runes to maintain. If these runes can be destroyed, the spell shatters.

As a vampire, Gabby has all the weaknesses. She's killed by sunlight, weakened by silver or, to a lesser extent, wood, allergic to garlic, needs to feed, and is unable to enter a private dwelling uninvited. It's also important to notice that sunlight doesn't kill her immediately. She has about a minute tops. She will still suffer second degree burns within seconds, and third degree shortly thereafter. In terms of strengths, she has all of those as well, including shapeshifting into mist and bats, and mind control, though it depends on the victim's willpower. Interestingly enough, her close ties to the moon result in a strange ability to be healed by moonlight, as well as being granted a bit more power than normal.
Equipment/Weapons: She possesses various books of magic, the Necronomicon and the Book of the Dead being her most valuable items. She also owns an obsidian staff that she uses for a focus of her magic in most directed spells. Chalk is another item that she’s never without, as it’s needed to create runes for some of her more complicated spells.

Adding a flourish of scarlet for good measure, Lexi grinned at her work of art. The Smashers were sure to be peeved that she had managed to get into their territory and tag it up, which in turn meant that Ace, leader of the Spades, would be quite pleased with her. This spot, high above the thrift shop, hadn't required help from Fury, but his company was great anyway. For being an alien life form, he certainly was funny when he wanted to be. Ever since he had bonded with her, her grafitti had taken on some different attributes, like the tendrils that were currently spreading out from the Spade on the previously white wall in front of them. It was just her way of putting a signature to her work for him as well considering some of the places she tagged were impossible to reach without him.

Dressed all in black, for it was the middle of the night after all, Lexi began making her way down off of the building. She took the long way, enjoying the feel of adrenaline pumping through her body and the concentration she needed to put on her task. Of course, the black clothing that she wore under her shirt and shorts wasn't actually clothing at all, but the symbiote. He had quite the amazing ability to alter the color of his body, leading to the creation of spectacularly realistic clothing. Lexi had learned in the month since finding him that he was just full of surprises, like being bulletproof. That had been an unpleasant discovery though.

Several minutes later, Lexi was safely back on the ground and strolling down the street. Anyone who had been watching her would have been surprised to see that the black underclothing she had on had vanished, but that was simply the symbiote withdrawing into her body again. Their bond was nearly perfect, the only difference being that they shared two consciousnesses, and really, two bodies. Fury lived within her body, but had his own. It was kind of weird if she thought about it, but she didn't mind. They were partners after all.

As she walked, she pulled out a chocolate bar, one of dozens in her backpack, and began munching on it. "Thanks. I was getting sort of hungry," a voice said in her head, the sound raspy.

"I know. Don't worry about it," she responded as she finished off the bar and stuffed the wrapper into the nearby trashcan that marked one part of the boundary between the Spades and the Smashers. She was home, if she could consider any place "home" that is. Sleeping in a warehouse every night wasn't quite the same as having a nice warm bed to hop in at the end of the day after all. But, yawning, she finally entered the large building and made her way to her sleeping bag before crawling in and passing out.

((If someone wants to be walking around or something, feel free. :) OR you could just skip to morning. It's all up to you guys. (Note: this is here so that you guys will see it, and because I posted in the OOC already.))

Jason was Strolling Around Town, Just Taking in the Sights of this city. He personally Thought that where he Went didnt matter, but What his Controller did with him did. Having Just Escaped from a Group of the Scientest's Goon's, he looked for a place to Crash. Seeing a Old, Seemingly Empty warehouse, He jumped up, and teleported to the top floor, among some old Crates. Jason then started looking around, really having nothing else to do.

He didnt Do anything until he saw What looked to be a Girl in a Sleeping bag. He walked up to the girl, and said aloud. "Wow, the Designer's really did good work on her! Man, she's pretty. I wonder if She's one of those famous Manga babe's I hear about." he said.

Aingeal stretched as he stifled a yawn and glanced at his watch. Had he really been there for three hours already? Glancing to his now watered-down drink, he sighed and picked it up, swirling it around a bit before setting it back down. He had let his mind wander, focusing the whispers from the shadows around him as they told him of the happenings in the area. It was his own news feed of sorts, something he had come to rely on since he started trying to use his power for something other than hiding. Letting out a sigh, he picked up his bag and slipped it over his shoulder as he stood.

"Time to go home, Niko." A voice called from across the small bar, causing him to pause. Slight panic rose in his mind in him as his free hand dropped to his pocket, where a knife was hidden. They had found him already, but he was ready for them, he had gained enough control now to fight back. "I will not go home." He whispered, eyes narrowing as he gripped the handle of his knife and prepared to draw it as the shadows around him grew, reaching outward slowly.

"I said, are you going home already? Are you alright?" A different voice said, snapping him out of his slight daze and making him turn to face who had spoken. It was the cute red-headed bartender who he talked with nearly every day. He blinked a few times in confusion and let his hand fall away from his pocket again before forcing a smile. "I am just tired. I will see you tomorrow night?" He said, casually running a hand through his tangled mess of hair as he tried to act normal.

Sierra nodded, but gave him an odd look still. "Yea, see you tomorrow." She said as he waved, then turned and walked out into the night. Once outside, his mind reeled, going over the brief encounter. It was getting the better of him again, despite his attempts to seem like a normal immigrant and it made him angry. He should have better control, it shouldn't be able to trick him so easily. He was gaining stability, and he wouldn't allow it to be stolen away so easily.

Shrugging his bag higher up onto his shoulder, he started down the sidewalk, the ever-present wild hissing, chattering and screaming of the shadows dogging his every step. The sounds were so familiar they hardly bothered him anymore, but tonight they put him more on edge, his frustration growing. When he got to his small apartment, he tossed his bag aside and opened his closet, pulling out a cardboard box. Within moments he had donned the clothing that was within it, and had turned off the lights. As he tied the soft black cloth over his eyes, he took a deep breath and allowed the darkness to wash over him, the velvet blackness consuming his consciousness for a moment as his stomach lurched and his head spun. When his senses righted themselves, he walked out of the shadowed alley and into the next, his form hazy in the dim lighting, as if he was a mirage.

It wasn't long before a whisper in his head directed him towards a group of drug dealers, lowlifes that no one would miss, save for their customers. A small but wicked smile curved his lips as he rounded the corner and slipped behind the building, his hand already reaching for one of his knives as the shadows showed him the inside of the building. The men were already high on their drugs, minds too distorted to notice the knob on the door silently turning until it was too late.

Stone jumped from building to building, using her staff to vault from one to the next. She was doing her nightly rounds, the people in her company all at home and asleep in their beds so they didn't need to bother her with their calls about this product or that product. It was now that she felt free... free of her mother's company and all the fake people who surrounded her. Her mother had raised a bunch of 'yes men' and they seemed to expect her to want the same. Only Arianna who was a fifty year old, stern looking woman with a young and loving heart that contradicted her appearance, would just say what she thought. Arianna had been her essentially her nanny, however, so their open and honest relationship was rather to be expected... Not to mention she loved Arianna like a mother so would never consider firing her.

Even with Arianna's presence, however, the office felt like a trap. No Stone preferred this, exploring the world, protecting life at all turns, and helping others. Here she was free, here she could be herself. The shadows of the night did not expect her to be 'Lady Brenna Kamon' but simply Stone. It was as magic to her as her very blood was to the world. Her feeling of bliss, however, was soon ended as a scream shattered the night. Soon she changed direction and landed in a crouch in front of an old building. It was a place taken over by squatters and druggies...

Now most people might have let them kill each other but what kept Stone alive, what kept her sane, was clinging to the believe that life was sacred. That each life mattered, even hers... the love of which had killed her father. She could no more resist a call for help then most could resist breathing. She silently crept into the building, her training making her steps silent. She was no ninja, but her gymnastic training and child hood growing up exploring tombs had made her learn to make her steps like feathers against the ground. Even the above mentioned ninja's would have trouble keeping up.

As she pushed open the door, however, she would find a man in black with a blindfold on attacking the drug dealers. They were too high to be able to defend themselves even if they did have guns stashed as they likely did. To Stone all life was valuable so she would do what needed doing. She raised her staff to hold it in front to of her, ready to change to her metal form if necessary.... even though in that form two things happened. Her strength increased subtly but her speed slowed distinctly.

"Stop what you are doing or I will be forced to stop you myself" She warned, giving the 'villian' a chance to stop. She always gave them a chance to stop... not that they tended to take it. She waited for this, her shield seeming to ripple slightly. The staff was essentially a peice of her or the stone that she had been changed by... in all honesty she wasn't sure which. Her memories of the whole process wasn't clear... she knew only that she had woken up with a strange shape-shifting bracelet she found she could easily use as a staff weapon. It was an unknown metal that looked like silver but was stronger then titanium. It was this same metal that Stone could become when she wished...

Eyes snapping open at Fury's warning of an intruder, Lexi jumped up, the symbiote simultaneously enveloping her body protectively. Then tentacles shot out and wrapped around the strange man to keep him from trying anything funny. With a free hand, she pulled out a cheap little cellphone and dialed in one of Ace's lackey's numbers. Several miles away, in an alley holding four people, two of which were high, a cellphone rang, and rang, and rang. She was really calling for back-up, though she had no way of knowing that there were two superhumans nearby. If she had, she probably wouldn't have called them in the first place, but dealt with the trespasser on her own. As it was, the only reason she didn't was because she had no idea of knowing if he knew Ace or not.

Jason seemed calm, looking at the Tentecales. "-whistle- Damnit, why do the girls always get the cool power's? all I ever got from the writer's was Flawed Regeneration, Flawed teleportation, and some weapons "he said. he then Teleported out of the Grip of the tentecales. Jason then slid his katana off his back. "Now listion, girlie, or whoever you are. I'm not here to fight.....i Think. Really, I dont know what my Controller is planning." he said. He easily could remind you of deadpool.

Too surprised by the strange man's sudden teleportation out of the grasp of her tentacles, Lexi whipped around to stare at him, already spawning several new protrusions to try and distract him. If Ace's lackeys weren't answering, something was wrong and that meant that she couldn't get a hold of Ace. Determining in a few seconds that fleeing was her best option, that's what she did, darting out of the warehouse before using the tendrils that Fury produced to travel more quickly than before. Hopefully, she would be able to escape him and lay low until morning. Psychos like him were dangerous in the city after all.

Looking up at the heights of the bridge, Midas frowned, tossing aside the flower that he had picked up awhile back. The golden form sparkled as it fell, catching the light from the street lamps beautifully as only pure 24-karat gold could. It had taken him weeks to reach the Big Apple, and finally, he had done it. Hopefully he would be able to find the girl he had heard about; the one who could turn to metal. Her... gifts would be helpful to him on his quest for revenge against the people who had taken and killed his parents. They would pay dearly for their transgressions.

Breaking his golden walking staff in half, he tossed it into the water below the bridge, perfectly aware that carrying such a thing with him would most certainly draw attention that he would rather go without. As it was, his clothes sparkled with a fine layer of the precious metal, the result of it coming in contact with his skin. That was the only thing about his power that he couldn't control; the ability to turn things into gold with a touch. Still, it was a useful ability if used correctly, which he hoped would be the case in New York City. People were supposedly extremely greedy there, so he figured he had a good chance of putting it to some use.

Jason looked out the window, to watch the girl Run. "Okay, This is going to take a Serious toll on my Health, but fuck it. Honestly, that Girl is intresting as Hell. "he said. He then took several steps back, then ran out, and jumped out the window, teleporting before he hit the ground. He teleported just in front of the girl, but fell on his face. "Ow! damnit! Why can't I learn to get control of that....."he stumbled to get up, and leaned against a wall, panting.

The man suddenly appearing in front of her freaked Lexi out quite thoroughly, and for more reasons than one. High on that list was that it meant she would have to run faster to keep away from him. She had just enough time to process these thoughts before she realized that she was still moving and that his prone form wasn't. A few seconds later, she lay dazed behind him, taking only a few scrapes and a cut from the fall. Her mask would have prevented all damage of course, but she hadn't had time to grab that. Still, she managed to scramble to her feet rather quickly, sending out another tendril to zip line away from the man, only barely recognizing that he seemed to have exerted himself greatly with his teleportation. Hoping that that was the case, she continued swinging away, foregoing just running with her enhanced speed.

Having entered the city of New York, Midas wandered around aimlessly. The city was not quite what he had expected. So much for the city that never sleeps, he thought, peering into the various alleys that he crossed in hopes of finding an informant who could steer him to that girl. Yet, it didn't look likely. Most of them were either higher than a kite, or holed up inside somewhere. He sighed as he kept walking, aimlessly kicking a can in front of him. The shoes he was wearing looked normal, though the insides were actually pure gold. It was really kind of strange that gold acted as a buffer to his power unless he consciously spread the change.

A tag drew his eye, snapping him out of his depressed thoughts. The symbol was strange, though he figured that it was one of the gang signs that he had heard about from various travelers coming from the city. Figuring that someone in a gang would have more connections than the average Joe, Midas set off in pursuit. A few drops of paint every few feet guided him to the warehouse, though they ended there. Still, at that point, it wasn't very hard to figure out the direction the painter had gone. The broken glass on the ground outside the building was a pretty good clue after all.

Fearing that a conflict had gone on, Midas began running to catch up, eventually spotting a strange man at the side of the road with a dark figure swinging away further down the street. "Who are you? Were you the one who painted the tag?" he demanded, partially morphing his body in case the man was a druggie who had just taken a hit and attacked him or something. It would be a mistake on his part of course, but it was still better to be prepared.

Snapping out of her sleep with a start, Beth shivered violently, both from the chilly breeze that blew over her and the fading impressions of the nightmare. It had been the same scene as before: the punishment that had finally spurred her to break out of the Camp. With the memories, the scars along her shoulders and torso, and the one over her cheek, burn with phantom pain. All she had done was fallen asleep while on the job, but that was enough to get the electric whip if they even harbored a suspicion that you were a Super.

Rolling over, Beth climbed to her feet slowly. She wouldn't be getting any more sleep that night. Still, she shoved her hands inside the pockets of her vest, stolen from one of the guards when they fled like the rest of their clothes had been, and plodded on. Her telepathy was honed in for any sign of pursuit, while at the same time masking her presence from any telepaths they had managed to enslave to try and track her. It wasn't because of her power or anything, though she was considered and Omega-level mutant and highly dangerous. It was simply because she was a Super. That was all they needed anymore. Regardless, it would be a long way to New York, what was once considered the Super-capitol of the world, and so, yawning, she continued putting one foot in front of the other, trying to fight of fatigue.

"Jason Wade, Aka 'Son of the Madman. "He said. He then shook his head "I'd remember if my reader was making me do shit like that. "he said, then looked back at the girl. He then hled up one of his pistols, and shot a Air-conditioner. It fell, and landed Right in front of the girl. "im trying to......figure out.....who the fuc...that is."he said, staggering over to the girl

Aingeal, or Anathema, as he was now called, hesitated in his attack as the shadows showed him the door opening, a young woman in blue stepping into the small warehouse. Her voice rang out over the nonsensical wails and moans of the dealers, telling him to stop. He could hear the creatures of the umbra mocking her, laughter blending in with their heathen calls. However, it seemed as it he was not even paying attention to her, standing motionless with head bowed.

'Stop? She wants to save these worthless men?' a voice, louder than the rest of the jumbled mess of sounds rang through his head. 'She must be one of them, then. These men are not worth our time, finish them quickly, then take her down, Angel.' It said, using it's pet name for him, causing him to curl his lip in disgust. Still, he stepped back from the cowering, bleeding man. He knew if he didn't do as the voice commanded, more incidents such as what happened at the bar would happen. His sanity was the price for fighting the shadow that had a hold over him.

When he finally turned to face the woman, he sheathed the small dagger he had in his hand, then raised both arms in what appeared to be a gesture of peace. However as he did, whatever dim light had filled the building faded. The shadows eagerly engulfed them all, causing the drug dealers to cry out again in panic as nearly all their vision was lost.

Anathema unsheathed the curved dagger at the small of his back and in under a minute, both men fell silent, the wet sound of blood splattering confirming their fate. He then quickly climbed the old empty crates that took up one side of the room to get the advantage of higher ground as he unwound the chain attached to the blade. From his perch, he watched the woman through the shadows, waiting for her next move.

As he seemed to give she began to relax, reaching towards her waist where a pair of hand cuffs were hidden. They were a familiar enough item that criminals seemed to fear them less and would cooperate with them more then anything she could create. Just as she had taken them out and started to say to put his hands behind his back she would find he had tricked her. The cuffs fell to the floor with the victims blood as she felt the room go dark. He was fast....

She raised her staff, transforming the end of the staff essentially to a ball of fire. It could only last ten minutes or so but it was her only real bet. She also assumed her metallic form since even the white fire light could not penetrate far enough for her to see where she had gone. She moved to his victims, her movements slower then before as being living metal had it's consequences. She would transform erh fingers back to normal to feel each man's pulse. It didn't matter to her who they were, murder was murder... Besides he was probably sent by other dealers to take out the competition anyway, that was what usually happened.

"Murder is still a crime in New York State, not matter who the victim and I will uphold those laws. Come peacefully and no one else needs to get hurt." She said with more confidence then she felt. She stood in a defensive position then and transformed her fingers back to normal. They had always said the long disappeared Superman had stood for truth and justice, her tone and conviction indicated she was just as much a goody too shoes as he had been.

For herself, she could be no other way. She fought to restore the lines of right and wrong in a world that even the government...perhaps especially the government seemed to have forgotten them. She would not back down just because it was a little dark or hard. So instead she waited for him to show himself as she could still sense him somewhere....somewhere in the dark. Being so connected to magic as she was sensing the ethereal was only natural, if basically useless due to her lack of ability to focus it to more specific then 'in the building'.

One of the greatest things about her bond with the symbiote was the improved reflexes, almost like a early alarm against danger. When she heard the shot go off, her body tingled, and she could tell that the air conditioner was going to fall right in front of her, which, subsequently allowed her to lower her swing and slide underneath it before continuing, unscathed. Of course, she had had no idea that someone else was interested in her, or that the psycho man was about to have a rough time. Her only thoughts were centered around getting to Ace and safety.

Around twenty minutes later, she was talking passionately with one of Ace's lieutenants, trying to get him to contact Ace for her. While she was one of his favorites, he tried to keep his phone number from just about everyone considering that a lot of people were out for his blood. This particularly lieutenant was actually the third of three, the other two, unbeknownst to Lexi, dead in a building a few miles away. Still, with much persuading the large ox of a man agreed, pulling out his cell and phoning the boss. The boss wasn't happy of course, but he agreed to be there with the crew in twenty minutes, his voice groggy over the phone. Still, his promise left Lexi feeling relieved. Ace would take care of everything like he always did. It was just who he was.

When the man introduced himself as "Son of the Madman," Midas resisted the urge to say, "No duh." Jason's unhinged mental state left Midas unprepared for him to pull a gun and shoot at the girl. Instantly, Midas was completely golden. He had grabbed onto Jason's coat surprisingly fast, the areas he touched transmuting to gold instantly as contact was made. But he wasn't done. Using his increased strength, he twisted on his left heel, slamming the crazy man into the wall hard enough to crack bones. "Don't you ever attack a fleeing target. Especially one that I show an interest in. Do you understand that, amigo?" he spat, letting go before turning and beginning to follow the strange girl who was currently swinging through the city. Clearly that girl was the one who had left the tag. Luckily for him, she had left pieces of tendril behind, allowing him a clear trail to where she was.

Jason groaned, then his Regenerative Reflex's kicked in. He got back up, cracking his bones back into place, and then Chased after the man, Dropping the gold coat behind. When he had enough breath, He teleported in front of Midas, Gasping for air again. "Im....-pant- -pant- not your....enemy......Im.....just trying....to find out....-pant- -pant- who she is."he said. He then stood up straight. "Im Jason Wade Wilson. Son of Wade wilson....kinda."he said.

Making a sound of annoyance, Midas waited for the mad man to speak. Of course, he saw the benefits to having someone help him search, even if he was insane. That was the only reason he didn't hurl him into another wall and, possibly, kill him. The benefits to his assistance outweighed the consequences, even if only marginally. "I'm searching for a girl, one who has the power to perform alchemy," he said, walking along the trail again. "Do you happen to know who I'm talking about? I want to find her. That girl you foolishly shot at more than likely has connections that will let me find her." Despite the tenuous partnership, Midas spoke quickly, walking on regardless of whether or not Wade was following, though he had a feeling the mad man was.

Anathema's lips curled in disgust. They were no more victims than the cows that are lead to the slaughter, their entire lives were spent preparing for. Their deeds were the grain that fattened them, and their blood money was the farmer that tended them. It was useless to defend such people, unless you are one of them.

Standing from the crouch he had fallen into, he started to swing his blade slowly, the sound of the chain clinking echoing through the room. He carefully moved along the crates, partially to prevent her from targeting him and partially to allow the sound of his blade to echo more, confusing her. As the swinging weapon built up speed, the howls of the shadows became louder, their excitement spilling over into him as they showed him his target clearly. When the blade made the air around him vibrate and sing, he let it loose, the steel whistling as it flew towards the woman in blue.

Samael whistled a low, solemn tune as he walked through the dim streets, his fine shoes clacking softly on the concrete as he made his way to the subway station. He hated walking through this part of the city, as the very air felt hostile most nights. However, he found it to be one of the best places to find "supers", or at least a good empty place to practice with his own powers. Tonight had been dull in this section though, no one but the occasional squatter to be found in the abandoned warehouses, stores and houses.

Adjusting the leather bag at his side, he let the song die as he thought of it's contents. Perhaps he could put on his... costume. Yes, as strange as the word seemed, it was a costume, a persona. Maybe he should don the white linen and roam the area a bit more, his appearance might stir up something like it did last time. His hand fell to the buckle on the flap as he thought, brows furrowed as he began battling himself. He still was unsure of himself, what his real goal was or why he even made the decision to make a costume. After a few moments, he found himself before the entry to the subway and let out a sigh. This was a dangerous place to be getting lost in his thoughts. Letting out a sigh, he ran a hand through his fiery curls and glanced around, trying to spot any suspicious figures lurking in the shadows of the buildings. After a moment, he spied movement down the road, but something didn't seem right. It was small and moving slowly, as if injured or tired.

Frowning, he looked around the area again and thought of his choices and chances, then started towards the person who didn't seem to notice at first. When he got close enough he hailed what appeared to be a young girl. "This is a dangerous part of the city, you shouldn't be out here alone... Are you alright?" He asked, genuine concern in his voice.

Stone frowned into the silence, so it was going to be that way... Before she could start to speak or move, however, the sound of clinking metal would interrupt her. Her eyes searched the dark vainly as she felt herself being surrounded like dangerous prey. The hunter was becoming the hunted it seemed, but Brenna was not one to run in either of her identity. So she waited, letting him have his run and show. It was only as the light of her staff caught the glint of metal that she reacted.

Her arm, well what little showed beneath her costume, become a shiny silver. It was a combination of alloys she had mastered though she had yet to master them all. She held her palm towards the blade. Once it touched her it became sand that fell harmlessly against the rest of her arm. It was this part of her power that was most famous, and arguably what made her most dangerous. She held her metallic arm and staff in front of her as she ran towards the direction she had seen the blade coming from.... Killers were all the same to her no matter their victim.

Anathema's mouth fell open slightly as the darkness showed his weapon turning to sand, the chain left in his hand starting to turn into little granules that slipped between his fingers. The darkness, which had fallen silent for that moment, started up in a chorus of outrage, adding to his confusion. With just the barest of touches she had flexed her power with seeming calm control. Envy flared to life in him, adding to the anger that was building, and he went back into action. Nimbly leaping back up the haphazard stack of crates, he watched her as she tried to find him. She was still mostly blind in the darkness, but he could feel his grip on it slipping already, the room steadily growing brighter again.

'Escape. She is better than you, little angel.' The voice hissed as he reached for one of the daggers at his thigh, making him hesitate. "But she is one of them, she cannot live." He said aloud, heavily accented voice low, but still loud enough to echo around the room. 'RUN' The Umbra creature replied, sounding panicked as the lights suddenly seemed to come back to life, the shadows shrinking back to their places. Startled, Anathema turned to try and face the woman in blue, his now incomplete vision disorienting him.

"One of them? I am Sorceress Stone, I'm not 'with' anyone. I protect lives because no single person has the right to judge who gets to live and die." She responded indignantly as she heard him. She had felt more then saw him leap back and waited a moment, expecting an attack. Instead he would be disoriented and the light returned. Because of her staff having been lit she wasn't quite as disoriented but she was still left blinking.

She shook her head to clear it then ran towards him, seeming about to strike him with her staff. As she did so, however, the staff would wrap around him like a snake to hold him in place. As she had not seen him arrive she had no knowledge of his teleportation ability. If this succeeded she would handcuff his hands behind his back before taking back her staff, if it did not she would jump backwards. Either way she would continue speaking as she tried to ignore the growing pain in her back where a piece of the stone still sat. It always ached when she tried to move around to much and she'd tried running....

"I can't let you go around killing people, you and me don't get to decide who lives or dies just because we have powers...It's not right" She spoke in a tired tone. She had apparently now gathered he was a vigilante which always saddened her more then excited her to 'arrest. They tended to have tragic pasts and good reasons... and always left her wondering if they saved more lives then she did. It was things like that which kept her up at night..

Frowning at the Wade, Midas tried to telepathically convey the urge for him to shut his trap. Unfortunately, Midas wasn't a telepath, so his message failed to be received, and the man kept talking. Despite knowing that letting the fool man touch him wasn't necessarily in his best interest, Midas kept silent, allowing his powers to turn Wade's fingerless gloves golden. "So I suppose we're walking then?" he asked, continuing on at the same brisk pace as before. He really didn't want to waste time with such stupidity. Besides that, Wade would be rather poor in a fight if he couldn't move because of his teleportation. Still, based on how fast the girl had been moving, they would probably be there in ten minutes. Unfortunately, that was plenty of time for her to gather her crew for a fight. They certainly wouldn't let one of their own be attacked by a mad man like Wade after all.

Yawning again, Beth blinked suddenly, her vision clearing to depict the rocks strewn about the poorly-maintained road. She had fallen? The pain all over the front of her body seemed to indicate as much, in addition to spurring her further awake. She had to get to the city before daybreak. Then she would be safe... well, safer. No place was really safe. Still, she had moved about a mile in twenty minutes; a good distance with her tiny legs. Being only eleven really hindered her physical abilities, as did the undernourishment she suffered from.

Pausing to take a few breaths, Beth pulled out the dented water bottle, the inside foggy with age, and took a large gulp. The cool water seemed to spread through her limbs as she screwed the cap back on, breathing slightly. Without even really realizing it, she had entered the city. The tall buildings stood like sentinels on both sides of the streets, their transparent eyes staring down on her. It really was an eerie feeling, and Beth found herself walking from the area quickly when she left, though she slowed down before too long. She just didn't have the energy to keep up that brisk of a pace for long.

As she kept walking, her ice blue eyes were scanning the streets and alleys around her, wondering silently how a once bustling city could be so quiet. Still, she was kind of glad. The stories she had heard at the Camp were not pleasant to think about at all, and had probably been one of the major reasons her friends hadn't come with her. Eventually though, she did find someone. Her eyes were drooping and her head was bobbing with fatigue, so she didn't see the strange man with fiery hair at all until he called out to her. That got her to react.

Panic flooding her eyes, she sent out a general wave of telekinesis, hoping that it was enough to scare him off. Nothing was picked up and thrown, but various items were moved. Bottles and rocks were hurtled as if by a strong wind, and garbage cans toppled and rolled along the ground. Even the man's clothes whipped and snapped in the wave, his fiery locks streaming out behind him. Simultaneously, a strange glow seemed to emanate off her body. In fact, if one looked closely enough, they would easily be able to see the separation between the glowing matter and her skin, indicating an armor of some kind.

Beyond that however, she didn't move. Really, it appeared that she had even stopped breathing. In reality, she was poised to do anything it took to keep the man from capturing her if he was from the government. She would never go back to the Camp. Never. She'd rather level all of the city, impossible of course, instead of go back to that realm of torture.

Anathema had only broken clips of vision that played in his mind like a stretched tape, the few shadows that were around him now unable to give in a complete image. He did still see and hear her charging up the pile of crates and dodged her swing, ducking down and rolling to narrowly miss being captured by the snake the staff had turned into. He tumbled roughly down the pile, catching his footing near the middle where he quickly pushed himself into a crouch and pulled his blindfold down to cover his nose and mouth, revealing his golden-brown eyes, the left iris having a green streak though it. He could see more clearly now, though he still had to blink away the spots in his vision as he swiftly stood then leaped down to the floor, landing a bit less than gracefully. Once he was in the cool shadows again, he pressed himself to the rough wood of the crates and willed his power to work. She had just come into his field of vision again when the darkness swallowed him whole and deposited him blocks away, winded, confused and half-blind.

Samael's golden eyes opened wide as he felt the first wave of power wash over him, but as the squall built and items from the street began to move, he quickly fell back into a crouch and pressed his palms together as he squinted against the supernatural wind. After a few seconds he pulled them apart, a glowing red-orange ribbon of what looked like scribbles forming between them then expanding as he moved one hand in a circular motion. The red glow immediately spread to create a half-dome before him, a glass bottle shattering on it just before it hit his face. He let out a sigh of relief as it held, and he relaxed slightly, keeping his eyes trained on the girl but all other senses aware of his surroundings as best he could.

'On the up side, I've found one.' He thought, chuckling lightly to himself as he watched her, fighting to see the layer or energy that had encircled her through the translucent shield he had made. After a moment he decided to speak again, finding reason was best tried before action. "I don't want to harm you and I assure you it was not my intention to startle you!" He called over the wind, "I just wanted to make sure you were alright!"

Such strange eyes was about all she had time to think before he had fled the shadows. She winced as her spine began to protest her jumping and running around and she leaned against a crate. She reached up to turn on a specially designed head set she always wore and placed a call to the police. She reported the murders even though she knew with it being in this part of town no one would care and it'd be hours before anyone arrived before clicking off. She soon headed to the outside and used her staff with its ability to grow and change to put herself on the roof. For a moment she simply crouched there as she shivered in pain and looked for sign of the man. She hadn't realized he could teleport...

"Damn...." She muttered softly as she forced herself to stand. She longed for her pain killers and her warm bath but she would put them off. She then saw a glow, a disturbance of energy. She would not be getting much rest it seemed. She was soon pole-vaulting across the roof tops with no sign of her pain but a slight slow down of movements. Soon she would see a girl... and wait... didn't that red head work at her company? She sank into the shadows of the building she was on instinctively as the man had always made her nervous. For now she would sit and watch.

((I figure her light would stand out more then a guy dressed in black hiding from her >.<))
