Alistair had paused, his vampiric hearing was hearing something. Nothing that really made him nervous or too alert. There were strange things in this town, strange creatures, but so far he hadn't encountered anything that made him need to put forth much effort to keep himself and Kasimir safe. He turned slightly at the sound of running, it didn't take long for the vampire to see that if the fleeing male remained on his path he would completely run over Kasimir. Alistair took a slight step back, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes as he watched.

When Alistair paused, Kasimir also paused. Watching the vampire, though there didn't seem to be anything amiss. Though when Alistair stepped away a bit, Kasimir turned to look as the sound of running reached his ears. He only barely caught a glimpse of the running male before that male ran straight into him. Caught completely off guard by the impact, the German went sprawling face first into the ground, scraping his chin a bit. A loud "Oof!" escaping his lips, and a very light chuckle emitted from the vampire. By the time Kasimir got to his feet, with Alistair's hand on his upper arm and a pout on his lips, the stranger was bolting down the street. "Hey. Wait!" Kasimir yelled down the street, not expecting the other to come back. Then he turned a glare to his companion, for laughing at him.

When that glare was turned towards him, Alistair leaned in close to inspect Kasimir's chin. There was barely blood there, it was just a light scrape, and though the urge to lick it rose in the vampire, he refrained from such an action. He had never once tasted his friend's blood and he intended to keep it that way. Satisfied that Kasimir wasn't badly hurt, he started walking again, they did need to get a costume for the party after all. Kasimir followed along, complaining about rude people.

Varten fed Cheshire and gave him some fresh water, "My sweet and only true friend Cheshire, I don't know if I'm going to be having my party or not. It would be great if people showed up and made friends with me. But I don't want to be alone any longer." Sighing yet again that day, he then continued,"It's getting late so I need to get into my costume and put out the refreshments."

It took him an hour to get all the work done. He needed to get one more case of light beer from the store. He wanted anyone that showed up to be able to relax and have a good time, but did not want it to be the primary reason for the party. Forgetting that he still needed to get in his costume, and that beer wasn't exactly the most important thing in the world, Varten got dressed into an old pair of slacks and shirt with his waistcoat. He grabbed his red coat from the hall closet and exited the house. After a block he realized that his feet were cold because he forgot his shoes. So running back he put them on, then walked to the store.

He got back home in half a hour, when the town clock struck seven-fifteen in the evening. He had one hour and forty-five minutes to finish getting ready. Entering his house, Varten put the beer in the refrigerator and headed up the stairs to get dressed. He had a lot of work. This was the best outfit that he had thought of in all the years that he had been having parties.

There was the sound of snuffling, a large canine padding down an alleyway. The dog finally stopped and raised its head, finally dragging its tongue across its scarred maw. With a bark and a subsequent yowl it lunged. There was a terrible crack as its jaws slammed on the neck of a cat, the skinny feline gurgling before growing limp. Triumphantly the large beast turned and trudge off, heading somewhere where it could easily devour its meal.

When it reached a rather secluded spot it sat. Looking around cautiously, ears twitching, it finally dropped its meal. Standing once more and, with a pained groaning sound and the sound of snapping bones, it changed. A young woman soon knelt in its place, naked and sweating from the pain. Licking her lips, Audrey Fontaine reached her hand out, grabbed the dead cat, and tore into it, sucking down large chunks of meat, blood, and bone with little discrimination. She always preferred to eat this way. That way she could actually taste her meals.

Finally she finished, the disgusting sight finally over as the still nude woman sat in the decrepit alley, blood splashed down her face, neck, and bare chest. Audrey turned and stood, making her way to a dry box in the corner. She removed a towel and, wetting it down in a puddle, cleaned herself off. She tossed the cloth aside and made her way back to the box, removing her clothing and putting it on; a ratty striped t-shirt (faded from use and age), a pair of black jeans, leather steel-toed work boots she nicked off a dead guy, and, her most treasured possession, a leather jacket.

With a content sigh she turned and made her way out onto the street, taking in a long whiff of the rainy East coast town. Oh they were here. The bitch with the necklace was here. If she was lucky she had the book too. If not she'd find it. Then she'd find a witch willing to help her. Then those bloodsucking stains on the world would all suffer the nasty death they deserved.

When Onyx opened the door, Becca's face lit up, as it always did upon seeing her bestie. She stepped inside and followed her friend to her room. "Do you think there will be any cute boys there tonight?" she asked Onyx. Becca had broken up with her boyfriend upon moving to Farefield. She wasn't into the long distance thing. She wasn't even really into the long term thing, but she was a young girl after all. And what young girl wasn't interested in cute boys?

She threw her costume on Onyx's bed and kicked off her boots before removing her pants and button up shirt, too. She slipped into a thin white dress, it was short, as most halloween costumes these days tended to be, but not ridiculously so, as they mostly were. Becca did have some modesty about herself, though no one ever seemed to notice anyway.

Becca saved the rest of the costume pieces for after she was done with her hair and make-up. She turned on the curling iron and sat on the floor, waiting for it to heat up as she began applying mascara to her long lashes. "Did you find anything interesting in the book Onyx?" she asked her friend.

While Onyx might find things she could actually do, nothing in the book would have anything about the vampire or werewolf curses. Those things were found in two other, separate books; grimoires, that only a witch could read. Helpfully though, the diary/book would include hints, something like riddles, as to where the books were hidden.

Varten started off with his corset, stockings, and bloomers. Every part of the outfit but the stockings and Mary Jane's he had handmade himself. Then once his waist was as tight as he wanted it, he started on his hair. Pulling it back he put the ribbon of fine black silk in to hold all but his bangs and fringe from his eyes, tying it in a bow on top of his head. Then he proceeded to braid his red waist length hair down the back. Next was make up, with a strawberry lip gloss, and a pale pink blush, all to look as natural and young.

Once he had finished the first part of the costume, Varten pulled on the dress. He loved the color red but knew that there were people that wouldn't exactly like the excessive amounts, so he had made it in shades of black and white instead of red or even it's traditional color of sky blue. Fastening the back and straightening the skirt and petticoats, Varten swished in front of his full length mirror. He smiled showing off his pointed teeth. "Now for the shoes!" He liked how he looked and was glad that he had decided to listen to his mentor and dress up even if no one arrived.

Just then the grandfather clock in the foyer chimed out that it was nine o'clock. He had only moments before any possible guest were to arrive. Hurrying to the shoe closet downstairs, he put on his Mary Jane's and again felt blessed that despite being a male, he had smaller then usual feet. It didn't cost him that much extra to get them special order. Cheshire mewled reminding him that he forgot to get the beer out of the fridge, so he hurried to finish that task as well.

((This is gonna be a long one... Note: Green/light green: Carmen. Red/brown: Carla. Black: both.))

"There's going to be a party."

Carmen fiddled with the flyer in her hand, fingers smoothing out the corners and ignoring the few holes poked into it. The piece of paper had flown directly at her head, the wind twisting it and carrying it in a trajectory perfectly aimed for her face - if it weren't for her quick reflexes it would have landed on target. Needless to say she wasn't particularly happy with it and may or may not've crunched it into a tight ball, throwing it on the ground and crushing it with her foot before picking it back up and reading it.

The two of them had moved into the diner after the wind had grown too annoying. It was thankfully mostly free of customers, the majority of people had likely decided not to venture out into the rapidly changing weather. The sky was clouded over and cast the town in a dull light, the colours plastered everywhere seeming muted with the greyness.

"So?"

Nails bit into her long-sleeved shirt, annoyance physically manifesting. Clara found herself becoming more and more annoyed with her twin lately, everything she did grating a nerve that the redhead didn't know she had. Every time her sibling spoke, every decision she made, every single little habitual movement agitated her to no end.

Clara wasn't sure if it was due to the fact that they were fated to hate each other based on species, or if this had been building up for years and only now did she have a real reason to express it, to put a reason behind her anger.

Carmen rolled her eyes, letting out an exasperated sigh. Her sister was supposed to be the smart one of the two - didn't she understand that this was an opportunity for a 'Greet and Eat'? They'd be surrounded by humans and 'wolves and witches and vamps alike. It was a perfect excuse; pretend to be drunk, catch the eye of their prey and, when the other makes their move, they strike. It'd be way easier than having to stalk each individual separately, waiting weeks or even months between each feeding.

Well, more of a feeding for her. Therapy for me.

She told her twin the plan, gesticulating. Arms flailed in a controlled manner, giving the illusion of a spazzy young woman. This was normalcy - in doing such a human action it gave the others the impression that they were human, even with her sister's attire.

Never mind the fact that the hair-tie Carla used allowed her to walk around in sunlight, the only things missing from her outfit was a pair of gloves and a large-brimmed hat. The hair-tie was a useful trinket that her sister had managed to procure by convincing a weak-willed witch into making it for her on pain of death. She killed him anyway.

The door opened, bringing with it the scent of fresh air and - human. The two turned in their seats, trying to catch a glimpse of whoever had made the trek to the diner. It was a blonde woman, rather pretty, asking to be seated by the waitress. She ordered greasy food and hot chocolate before typing rapidly on her phone, likely sending a text to a close friend. The booth she had chosen was directly beside the window which she was now looking out, likely waiting for whoever she had just contacted.

"She smells delicious..."

Clara was gripping her arms tighter now, though this time out of restraint and not agitation.

Carmen nodded. The two were in agreement, something that rarely happened. They shared a glance - Clara's teeth were poking out, resting on her bottom lip, eyes dilated to the point where there was barely a sliver of the iris showing.

"Not in the diner, sis."

The hair's on the back of Clara's neck stood to attention, bristling with the force of her desire to just glide over to the woman, bend her neck, and bleed her dry until she was left looking like one of the mummies in a museum exhibit. Her sister had a point though. They couldn't reveal themselves in such an open setting, nothing to hide behind, no shadows to melt into.

It wasn't long before the blonde was joined by a raven-haired woman who was crackling with energy. A witch - that could spell trouble for the twins. Subtly they kept their attention on the pair, listening in to their ensuing conversation, sharing a sharp glance at the mention of an old witch's diary. Both kept their thoughts to themselves but had the same idea - old magic was powerful magic. Neither voiced the plot writing itself in their mind.

A long time had passed before the pair left, two heads disappearing from the diner and away from the building.

"She's going to be at the party."

"Yeah."

Another look was shared between the two, the silent declaration of a competition passing among them. The blonde - Becca, the witch had called her - would be the prize, her tender flesh the reward for whomsoever got her alone first. Without a word spoken the two agreed to attend the party and, with a few bills thrown down on the table, left the diner in order to prepare.

It was going to be an interesting night after all.

He groaned, sitting up and rubbing his neck. His dark eyes cracked open and he looked about. But he all Nate really saw was a dark street. His eyes shot open immediately and he scrambled to his feet, nearly tripping on the uneven footing the steps provided. Oh....oh fuck he'd fallen asleep. He'd fallen asleep how could he be so fucking stupid! He could already feel his chest tightening, already feel sweat beading on his face.

It...it was out there it had to be! He saw it in the forest and now it would get him now! He saw nothing move, didn't see those too long arms moving like it didn't know how to move like a person. He didn't see it out there. But there was the terrible paranoia that it was out there.

He backed up, stumbling up the steps. He jerked when his back connected with a solid surface, eyes widening. He turned immediately, eyeing a wooden door. He cast another glance out to the street before he moved, scrambling for the handle, desperate to get in. It might have been someone's house, might have been the church, or a store but he could really care less at this point. He needed to get in. Inside meant light. In his panic he had forgotten his bag on his back, forgotten the camping lantern in his bag. He pulled on the handle desperately, trying to get it open. The wooden door banged in its frame like something was keeping it shut. Like a spindly hand was keeping it shut, the owner watching the panicked boy curiously, almost concerned, its form unseen and unheard.

When they had finally reached the store, it had taken far longer than Alistair would have liked for Kasimir to pick out a costume. Price had not been a problem, as the vampire volunteered to pay for whatever thing Kasimir decided he liked the best. Still it had taken way too long for the German to pick anything, and what he had picked rather surprised Alistair. Even now. Walking down the sidewalk on the way to the house that was hosting the party, Alistair's grey-blue eyes sparkled with amusement, more amusement than he usually showed. He still didn't fully understand why Kasimir had chosen such a costume, though it did seem rather loud and bold, and Kasimir was nothing if not bold.

The vampire said nothing as he walked next to his blond friend. Alistair had changed, he wore what could only be considered a stereotypical Dracula costume. The sad thing was, it was actual clothing he owned from a long forgotten era. At least they were still in good condition. His long hair had even been pulled back into a loose ponytail at the base of his neck, and the pendant Kasimir had stolen for him was tucked underneath his shirt so it rested against his chest.

Kasimir was rather pleased with the costume he had finally found, it had been a little expensive, especially the boots, but he liked it. It had been a very very long time since he had worn a skirt of any kind, and this costume was rather bold. At least in his opinion, it was the boots he loved the most though. And soon those boots were clomping their way to the door of the house where the party was hosted. On the blond's face he wore a masquerade mask, a last minute addition to his over all costume. All in all, Kasimir thought he looked just fine. His blond wavy hair bounced around his face and at his shoulders as he shook his head slightly. He ran his hands over his costume, smoothing out the skirt, then plastering a bright smile on his face as he rang the doorbell. Alistair standing patiently behind him.

Onyx simply rolled her eyes at Becca. "All you care about is boys. The boys here are nothing shy of weird." Onyx followed Becca into her room, and sat down on the bed, not wanting to put on her costume just yet. "What are you going as?" Onyx questioned, looking the white dress up and down. She couldn't quite tell what she was going as. But Onyx did the think the dress suited Becca well.

Onyx sighed. "Im having an identity crisis in my writing, at the moment. I have no idea if I'm wanting to go horror, comedy, or even romance. But trust me, I'll be looking at that book anyways! You know I've got a knack for old things." Onyx swiftly stood up, deciding it was time to put her costume on. She quickly grabbed an old Cheerleading outfit she had found in her basement and put it on, being careful to not rip it, since she had no idea how old the thing must've been.

To finish off the look, Onyx put in a high ponytail with a rather large bow facing towards Becca. Onyx smiled. "Who needs to buy a costume when I have useless outfits in my basement!" Onyx giggled. She had always been sort of frugal, never wanting to spend much on her clothes. Onyx say down next to Becca and began to put a small amount of eyeliner on. Then, the mascara would come. All of a sudden, Onyx had an idea. She began writing, Go Team, on her face with eyeliner. Onyx smiled even wider than usual at this. This costume fit her bubbly personality amazingly.

"Who me?" She defended herself, "Who doesn't want a strong handsome man to hold them and protect them from all this towns, boogeymen of the night?" she joked. Becca for one did like the idea of a boytoy, but mostly she was just lacking romance in her life. Though she wouldn't admit that that was what she wanted. She just played it off and finished putting on her mascara.

When Onyx asked what Becca was dressing up as, she smiled her typical charming smile and stood up, pulling her wings on over the white dress. "An angel, of course," she said, batting her eyelashes. She laughed then. Her an Onyx were always silly together.

Her bestie jumped up after talking about the book and grabbed her own costume. Becca had begun curling her long hair, watching her friend to see her costume. "A cheerleader!" Becca exclaimed, "It's perfect Onyx! So you!" The outfit matched her peppy personality, and the GO TEAM on her cheek was the perfect touch.

When Becca was done curling her hair and insterting the jewel hair pins, and finished doing her make-up where a little bit of glitter eyeshadow topped the look, she pulled on her lace-up heels that matched her outfit perfectly. She pulled her necklace on again, never going anywhere without the family heirloom. Somehow it always added the perfect touch to every outfit.

She almost laughed at the idea of her family protecting it for generations. Heck, Becca would protect it, too. The worlds greatest fashion accessory. She was staring at it in the mirror and smiling, amusing herself. She couldn't believe some of the stories there'd been about it. Apparently her family had been trained in all sorts of fighting styles, including having immense knowledge in the extermination of vampires and werewolves.

Her great grandparents had actually expected her to train for things like that. How ironic that she'd end up in a town like this, with the necklace. No matter. If the what they said was true, then no one of evil intentions could get their hands on it anyway. The second an impure being of any kind laid a finger on it, it would become hot, so hot it would burn their skin, melting their flesh away instantly. Heck, she could even use it as a weapon against them if she needed to.

Becca shook her head and looked at Onyx. "This town is making my head wacky," she said. "Are you ready to go? I need some air or something," she said. Becca left all of her things at Onyx's house, they'd probably return here later for sleep, each needing each other to help them along. That's how it usually tended to work out. She slipped her small cell phone into the cleavage of her dress, hiding it well, as to not let the sight of it ruin her costume. "Who's driving?" she asked.

((If you want, you can say whichever of them drove, drove them there so we can get them there already. ))

The doorbell rang out a loud chiming sound all through the house. Varten's head snapped up in surprise. He really hadn't been expecting anyone. Picking up Cheshire, he headed to the door. Before opening it the red head took a couple of deep breaths to calm his nerves. It was to be expected that he would be so anxious.

When he opened the door, he noticed two men both gorgeous specimens. But the one that really caught his eye was the blond because of the more interesting and unique costume he wore. Though he did appreciate the vampire's clothing. It had history to it. And if there was one thing that had both of Varten's true interests it was history.

Kasimir was running a hand through his hair when that door opened, his face lit with excitement and a lot of amusement when those green eyes fell upon the one that opened the door. Sharp eyes roaming over the other's figure, from the top of his head down to his shoes. He looked the other over twice, just to be sure the one before them was indeed a man in a dress. Others might not be able to tell, but Kasimir had the sharp eyes of a thief, and some experience with dresses, though he'd never tell that. "Well, aren't we a ravishing hostess this fine evening?" Kasimir leaned in close, giving the red head a wink and a grin, his voice, as always laced with that German accent.

He pulled back, grin still on his lips and he ran a hand through his blond hair again, and flipped it some. Stepping closer to the red head, "I can already tell this is going to be a very fun party." Somehow when Kasimir spoke the word 'fun' it seemed a little dirty and a lot suggestive. Then he was slipping inside the house past the redhead. "Come along, Lord Hiro of broodingdom." He made a slight motion with his hand, then paused to turn and watch Alistair. As far as Kasimir could tell, their host was human, if that was so he wasn't sure if the host would need to invite Alistair in or if his own flippant invite had worked.

Alistair's body had tensed just slightly when the vampire in the dress opened the door. Vampire. It already had Alistair feeling very uneasy, though of course the other's beauty didn't go unnoticed either. However, for Alistair those things took a backseat to the fact that the host was a vampire. The costume was lovely though and it did seem to fit the red headed on very well, it looked very good on him and Alistair could already tell that Kasimir was completely, lustfully, interested in the red head...though that might have been just because the other had red hair. It was also clear to Alistair that Kasimir had no idea the other was a vampire, though, that fact wouldn't really matter much to the German, unless the other tried to bite him...although..depending on context Alistair was afraid the blonde would let such a thing happen.

Finally Kasimir flirted his way into the house, inviting Alistair in along behind him. His lips twitched slightly upwards into a smile, then it was gone. A hint of amusement was in his grey-blue eyes though. Kasimir was a very amusing fellow most times. Still, Alistair was sure the invitation was needed, this was a home of a vampire, not a home of humans. He moved word, stepping over the threshold a few steps behind Kasimir. Those eyes looking around the house he had just entered, to familiarize himself with his surroundings. Kasimir's green eyes were darting around as well, but for a very different reason. Alistair knew his friend was looking for easy, out in the open valuables to steal that wouldn't be missed for a little while. When his grey-blue eyes fell on the red head again, Alistair nodded slightly. "I am called Hiro, and my friend is called Kasimir." He glanced at Kasimir, who was already moving further into the home with a curious green eyed gaze on everything.

Varten had a deep blush on his face the moment that the blonde started to speak. His accent was very thrilling, and though he had not met many Germans in his life, he found the accent to be exotic. His blush deepened when the other said that it was going to be a fun party. It was his first guests of the night and he was already being hit on. 'How enjoyable!' he thought.

Knowing that no invitation was truly needed for the other man, being as he was a vampire like himself, Varten just nodded a greeting and stepped slightly to the side. Cheshire however mewled at him in greeting. And there was one thing that Varten knew about his cat, if Ches liked someone then they were a good person whatever their race may be. Sending a quick glance to the blonde again he saw the way that he looked over the house. 'He must really like my decorations!

Once the vampire introduced himself and his friend, Varten replied, "I am Varten Nytewing. Welcome to my home. Do you mind if others were to know what you are? I won't tell if you don't want. I know how judgmental people can be after all."

Alistair's brow furrowed slightly, his full attention on Varten now, and he hoped Kasimir didn't do anything while he wasn't watching. Those grey-blue eyes studied the red headed vampire carefully for a few moments, then he shrugged. "Would you start a panic at your party? We are all just wearing costumes, nothing more and nothing less." His tone had been soft, gentle as if often was. He couldn't help but wonder, did the people of this town know Varten was a vampire? Alistair was sure, but if the other wanted to openly flaunt what he was, that was fine with Alistair as long as he didn't get dragged along. Kasimir dragged him into enough trouble as it was, he didn't need even more. He glanced at the cat first, giving it a soft smile, then at the German who was currently trying to sneak up on the cat.

Kasimir had made his way to the other side of the room while Alistair and Varten spoke. Probably just exchanging more pleasant greetings, the proper way. A hand shake and a 'how do you do' were not Kasimir's idea of proper greetings. Then he heard it. A cat. It said 'meow' and suddenly had the German's full attention. Those green eyes full of amusement as he approached the cat from behind. Hands darting out to pet it gently, and then, if it allowed him, Kasimir would carefully lift the feline and cuddle it against his chest while stepping towards Varten. "Isn't it time for the grand tour of your lovely house, my princess? I had hoped we could start with the more interesting room first." The way he said the word 'interesting' and arched a brow should have made it clear he meant the bedroom. "That's usually where the real party starts, anyway, isn't it?" He barely glanced at Alistair, the vampire had only sighed softly and shook his head slightly.

(Ill just say Onyx drive to make it go by quicker.)

Onyx watched as Becca was almost lost in a trance staring at her necklace. Becca always wore that, never taking it off or leaving it somewhere. It obviously meant a lot to Becca, and Onyx wasnt one to judge. Onyx had the blanket that she had been left on the doorstep of her current family, still. She used as a soothing object in those nights when she felt scared and alone. So Onyx knew what it felt like have such a specific item.

"I am so ready for this party!" Onyx jumped up and down with glee, then slipping her all white Nike shoes on, she grabbed her keys and cell phone and slipped her phone into the side of her mid-stomach skirt, and quickly grabbed her purse, forgetting the book Becca had given her was in it. Cheerfully walking to the door, guessing Becca was in tow, she headed out towards we truck. After her and Becca were securely in the car, Onyx turned on the transmission and began there decent to where the party was located.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived at the old house. Onyx cut the engine and hopped out, not even waiting for Becca this time. Onyx was pumped! She quickly made her way up to the door, smoothing out her top, and swiftly knocking on the door in two knocks. Onyx then turned back to see if Becca had caught up.

Varten answered, "It's just that people have guessed what I am- so I didn't want to cause you any undue trouble." Then he panicked when Cheshire jumped from his hands to sniff something on the floor. How would people be able to tell he was Alice? With the dress not being blue it was not easy to tell. He had to just hope.

Then Kasimir came up behind him and spoke about finding a more interesting room. Varten caught the hint right away making his cheeks inflame immediately. "Most men do not find me that interesting lord Kasimir. They tend to find me not equipped to their liking." His blush deepened more, "Besides it's not polite to speak such a way to a lady." 'He probably thinks that I am actually a girl..'

Just then the door thudded. Someone had knocked. Turning back to Kasimir from looking at the door, Varten took Ches back, and waved to the other room, "Please go and enjoy the refreshments." Opening the door as they walked away, he caught sight of two ladies that were sure to take the attention from them. From a gay man's stand-point he could see that they were beautiful. "A cheerleader and her guardian angel!" he cheered to them.

Two carloads of people pulled up in front of the spooky old house just as Onyx pulled up in her old truck. Thanks to the permanent overcast, the sky was already dark. Becca applied a last minute layer of lip gloss and hopped out of the truck after Onyx, locking her doors for her. Onyx and her carelessness.

Becca stared up at the looming old house. The grass, or what was left of it was brown and dead. The trees had long lost their crunchy leaves, and the boards of the home were weathered, as were the dark shingles. The windows with their orange lit rooms aglow, were ominous. Almost as ominous as the moon trying its best to peek through the dark and dreary clouds, causing a large yellow ring to form in the sky around it.

Before Becca made her move towards the house, a group of nuns, two werewolves, a clown and a sexy cop made their way up the two wooden steps towards Onyx. One of the costumed wolves with fake blood on his fake hairy face, smiled down at Onyx and reached down and opened the door for her. "It's a party," he said. "No one knocks for parties."

He and his group invited themselves in. Becca followed up the steps and waited at the door for a moment before shrugging, and stepping inside, too. Just behind her was another group. Two large boys, a bloody doctor and a banana, carried a keg, planting it in the front yard. Another boy, dressed as Michael Myers searched for the stereo.

"Wow," Becca said to Onyx. "This is going to get out of control really fast," she said. Just Onyx's kind of party. Becca searched for the host, wondering if they'd ever even see him tonight. She moved towards the kitchen to get out of the way of more partiers making their way inside. She grabbed a cup as the music started. As always, it was too loud. But that was best for parties. No one wanted to hear a bunch of people talking, they wanted to dance, and drink.

Becca herself, filled her cup with some punch. She was going to take it slow tonight. Mingle. Try not to make a fool of herself. She wanted to dance mostly. She made her way towards the living area where some of the boys had taken it upon themselves to scoot the couch back a few feet to create a dance floor. She set her drink on the fireplace and grabbed Onyx's hand, dragging her to the floor to dance.

((Now that's the beginning of a party. Looks like Vart and Kas will have to go upstairs to get away from all the commotion. ;)))

Just behind the two girls was a group of people, a fake werewolf with his hand on the knob. 'That explains why it opened so easily..' There were more people piling out of cars then Varten would have ever expected. The strange thing was that everyone just seemed to walk right on in without seeming to see him. They probably thought that he was just another guest.

Another group of guys walked in and there was one that stopped, "cool cat!" He grabbed Cheshire and started swinging him around like a doll. The cat yowled and started to claw the guy in the face. The idiot yelped and threw poor Ches across the Foyer. Thanks to Varten's enhanced speed he was able to catch Cheshire before he got too hurt. Then he kicked the jerk out for what he had done, and his friends too. Though it did take some convincing as they didn't believe that he was the host.

Onyx walked in with the welcoming of the host. I am in LOVE with your costume. Let me guess, you're either sleeping beauty, Cinderella, or Alice In Wonderland because of the cat?" Onyx hoped she was right for the sake of jot making a fool out of herself. But she was normally spot on when it came to things like this. Onyx knew her costumes, and characters.

After getting the hosts reply, Onyx smiled and waved, walking off to the living room, where three hefty boys were making room for dancing. Then the feeling hit her. She felt a major mood swing. She felt mischievous yet flirty. Once again, Onyx's self-diagnosed bipolar disorder kicked in. But Onyx was concentrating on trying to remove this mood or whatever it was. So, to take her mind off of it, Onyx grabbed a cup, and filled it with the liquid closest to her.

Before Onyx could even take a drink, Becca was dragging her to the Dance floor. Onyx pouted as she had to set the drink down as not to spill it on the hosts floor. Onyx looks around at the people. "I didn't even know there was this many people in this town." she practically screamed at Becca, due to loud music. Onyx let herself gently away to the beat of the music, knowing she wasn't a good dancer. She didn't feel like making a fool out of herself just yet.

Alistair had nodded slightly in understanding of Varten's words. Others had guessed. He supposed in a town like this, others had speculated more than guessed, and rumors had spread. Truly it didn't matter to Alistair, as he and Kasimir were really just passing through, they hadn't determined how long they would stay though. Alistair was beginning to think they might stay a while, depending on how deep or shallow Kasimir's interested truly turned out to be in the red head. When others began to arrive, Alistair moved to a place out of the way against a wall where he could watch most things, mainly Kasimir.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure you have everything that would interest me hiding under those petticoats." Kasimir honestly didn't care what Varten was supposed to be dressed up as, it was a good looking costume though, somewhat vaguely familiar, like from a movie he might have seen once. Though the color didn't match with his memory. It was very unimportant. Quickly a pout made itself home on his face, Alistair was right, Kasimir pouted about everything. That pout made apparent when the cat was taken from him and more people began to arrive. He knew it was a party, but he had been having fun with this Varten. Still, a large crowd did make it easier to steal things, but that was for later. When everyone would be to drunk to even remember anything.

Things were happening rather quickly now as people came in. Then something rather cruel happened. A guy snatched the poor, defenseless cat from Varten and began swinging him around. Those green eyes flashed with fury and he moved to stop such cruelty, but the cat reacted as only a cat can, and was tossed. Eyes widening slightly, Kasimir moved to catch the cat, but he was of course, to slow. Varten got there in time though. So, Varten was a vampire? Clearly not human, moving with enhanced speed like that.

Kasimir moved close to Varten, his hand reaching out to gently grab that rope of braided red hair. Soft and silky, briefly he wondered how it would feel to run his fingers completely through it. For now he was content to wrap it gently around his hand and give it a very soft tug as he brought his lips to Varten's ear. "Stay close to me, and I'll protect you and your kitten from guys like that." Kasimir was trying to be serious and seductive all at once, his other hand reaching around to very gently pet the cat in Varten's arms. The poor thing.

Audrey moved along the street, her normal rounds of this accursed little town. A few sweeps of every street, sniffing and scenting, then she'd turn and head back to the den she'd claimed. She continued along her way, stopping only when she heard the distant hum of music and the smell of booze and sweat. Sounded like a party. She licked her lips before picking up the pace a bit.

She halted, eyeing the street and the house that seemed to be the center of attention. Her nose wrinkled when she noticed some of the garish clothing some were wearing including what appeared to be a facade of her own blighted kind. A costume party. Just what she needed. Oh well it's not like she even wanted to- she stopped, nostrils flaring widely. That smell. Distinct and too familiar. A grin slid over her face and she began to slink down the way.

She twitched when there was a yell and some people stumbled out of the house, kicked out for one reason or another. A few young men. They were probably drunk. Her lips curled slightly when she realized one of them had been on a date, his girlfriend flung out with him. And she was just her size too. The werewolf slunk into the shadows and watched, waiting for the angry party goers to wander past. They finally made their way to her, the men passing and grumbling angrily. Their female friend was lagging behind.

As soon as the woman passed Audrey struck, her hands darting out inhumanly, one hand slamming over the girl's mouth and the other sliding over her shoulder to restrain her. She dragged her back into her hiding spot, easily able to ignore the struggles as she dragged her into the side yard (or was it an empty lot she couldn't tell) with ease. With a quick twist and a snap the girl was dead, neck broken and body slumping into the werewolf's arms.

Silently and with only little trouble Audrey slipped the loose costume off the girl; some sort of genie ensemble, all loose clothing and vibrant fabric. The costume was on her in a few moments, her own clothing hidden in a bush. Except her jacket. That stayed with her. The leather coat draped over her arm she made her way into the street again, looking about quickly before making her way calmly down the street toward the party, a small almost pleasant smile on her face.

(( >.> ))

The door was banging, a constant, rapid push and pull as if someone were trying to break clean though the locks with sheer physical force. It was, quite frankly, aggravating and extraordinarily annoying. The hour was creeping later and later into the evening, the sky already dark and casting the town in deep shadows, naught but the sparse lamps to illuminate the night.

It had to be a human - Kaled had taken precautions to ensure that neither a werewolf nor a vampire could even approach the church, and he would have sensed their power if it were a witch. This incessant pounding had to have been caused by a mortal, though he didn't have a clue as to why anyone would be out in such blackness and cause such a frantic racket.

Perhaps my prayer had been answered, one perfect, final sacrifice for my Lords in the shadows?

However it could also very well be a potential lodger who had gotten lost alone in the cemetery or the woods, terrified of the imaginary shapes they thought they saw lurking. Some of which may not be so imaginary.

Kneading the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger Kaled made sure that the doorway to the crypt was tightly locked before walking briskly to the door which was still thumping against the frame, the old boards straining. It had barely been two hours since his last service of the night and he had yet to change out of his robes, becoming preoccupied with.. more important matters.

Adjusting the collar of his cassock he - gently - opened the door, a subtle smile dancing on his lips.

"We're late."

"Yeah, well, so what? Everyone knows the cooler people arrive later into the party. 'sides, with more people it'll be easier to blend in than if it was just us and a couple others."

Clara rolled her eyes, pulling on the right glove of her costume. Carmen had the ingenious idea of dressing identically, as if people didn't have a hard enough time telling the two of them apart sometimes.

"It'll be fun!" she had said, shoving the clothes into her mirror's arms.

It's decidedly not fun, especially when having to wait for over an hour for you to get ready. We have the same costume. I took ten minutes. If that human wasn't going to be there I wouldn't have agreed to this in the first place.

Taking a large breath Clara smoothed out her shirt and pulled the zipper up just a little bit more. The outfit was a little too tight and just a tad too revealing for her own personal tastes but she knew that it would be easier to attract others this way. Men especially - sometimes it was just a tad too easy to get into their minds and manipulate them just the right way to get them alone. Just bat the eyelashes, say a few words to get them interested, and they'll willingly follow to a secluded place.

"We're here now anyway, so just knock on the door and get invited in. I'll get a head start."

Carmen winked at her sister, pushing open the door of the home and slipping inside, sliding seamlessly into the swing of the party. She tried to keep her eyes open for the human Becca - she was the ultimate goal, the only reason her twin even agreed to coming.

Which'll make it all the sweeter when I steal her away.

Clara, on the other hand, had to dig her nails into her palm in order to contain herself. The gall of her sister was so intensely agitating that she had to take a minute to calm herself down lest her anger get the hold of her. That red curtain needed to stay up and secure, no chance of falling down in front of her eyes.

You can't expose yourself, not here among all these people, especially when you're not dressed as your species. You have no excuse for your fangs.

One last deep breath and she stepped up to the door, knocking loudly, hoping the host or someone would open the door quickly and invite her in. This was the one part of her gift that she found quite annoying - why should she, such a superior creature, have to ask permission to enter someplace? It was absurd! And yet it couldn't be avoided. At least, it couldn't be avoided in a way that wouldn't get noticed.

Becca laughed. She felt the same way. There had to be every single young person in town here. Many of the faces were new though. Perhaps some passing through, travelers if you will, that had stumbled across the flyers. She danced with Onyx for a minute before a couple of guys meandered over to them.

One was dressed up as a nerd. He dawned suspenders and thick rimmed glasses. It was very appropriate that he would lean over Onyx and ask her if she wanted a drink. The cheerleader and the nerd. Becca laughed, before realizing that his friend had stayed behind to take Onyx's dance spot.

Becca danced carelessly, she was a great dancer. Her partner on the other hand was a bit of a klutz. He was dressed as some kind of superhero, with a mask. Becca couldn't tell if he was anyone she knew, but it didn't matter. They couldn't hear each other over the music if they'd wanted to talk anyway.

She preferred early dances over the late night party dances. Drunkos couldn't keep their hands to themselves that late in the evening, and unfortunately Becca wouldn't try to stop them. That's why she didn't want to start drinking so early. But, who knew what the night would hold?

((Didn't want to get too far without the others settling in. So here's my teeny post about nothing!))

((Fun fact! Nyctophobia is the irrational fear of perceived threats or dangers in dark spaces! I suffer this. It sucks.))

His arms were shaking now, sweating slicking and slipping over his palms. There was a drone, a hum that grew and hitched in his ears and he couldn't tell if it was imagination of that thing screaming out in the woods or behind him it sounded like it was right in his ear. The shadows seemed to be creeping on him, touching him. He cast a quick glance behind him, seeing shadows and things moving out past him and in the street. Something seemed to brush past his ear when the door finally clicked.

He practically collapsed when the door creaked open, unaware he had been leaning against it in a desperate attempt to get away. He panted, stumbling before looking up with wild and frantic eyes. It was a man. And by the robes he looked an awful lot like a priest. He cast another glance backward, searching the street frantically. Nothing. He slipped inside, slipping past the other man as gently as he could given his panic (which wasn't very gentle at all), leaning against the wall just on the other side of the door from, trembling and panting and trying not to heave. His hand was gripping his shirt, just over his heart, the organ thumping wildly and painfully in his rib cage.

"S-s-sorry sorry f-fuck 'm sorry shit shit," he started to hiss, voice barely above a whisper. He was starting to calm now, his mindless fear no longer clouding his mind. It was more fogging it up now. He cast another glance at the door, thought he saw something slink past somewhere in the dark, a looked away, biting his lip. "Sorry sorry..."

~~~*~*~*~~~
Audrey hummed inside the all too loud house, her nostrils flaring periodically. It was here. She knew it. She could smell that much. Though to be honest she could barely smell anything over the dead stink of vampire. It permeated every bit of this house and, to be honest, she had debated even entering at all. If anything she was not going to be caught by this house's owner or his dead friends.
But she wouldn't desert the chance to get what she wanted. What she needed. She was standing absently in what felt like a hallway, the kitchen on one side and what may be a sitting room on the other? She couldn't tell. She absently swirled the beer in her hand, sipping it only every now and then. Lite. Not really her cup but if the vampire was that cheap oh well. No skin off her nose. She continued her scanning and scenting, turning to absently wander into the kitchen.
((A post NOT with Becca - just an OC!))
The boy in the banana suit was rocking out. An air guitar, peanut butter jelly, solo, in the center of the coffee table. People were gathered around laughing, taking pictures and egging him on. He had a beer in one hand, sloshing it all over the place as he flailed around. He also had a five o'clock shadow and looked to be around 30.
At some point he stepped off the coffee table and air guitared his way out of the living room and into the hall towards the front door, passing people lined up against the walls waiting for the bathroom and sucked into their small talk. He reached the front door, planning on taking his solo outdoors near the keg.
The bananaman opened the door to see one fiinnneee looking woman standing there. "Well helllooo sexy!" he slurred. "Are you here for the party in my banana? I mean, there's a banana in my pants for you, I mean, there's a party in my pants are you coming?" The guy was a completely wasted idiot.
"Well don't just stand there," he slurred again, "Come in and party!" Those last words seemed to grow fainter and fainter as the man fell backwards onto the hall floor, completely passed out before his banana suited body hit the floor. The remaining bit of his beer puddled onto the floor and soaked into his costume immediately.
