(it's fine dear~ :D)

Vanity couldn't help but smirk lightly. For a minute there, he actually sounded like he was starting to care about her. She glanced at him with soft eyes and shook her head. "Don't worry- I'm not gonna die that easily..." She murmured just loud enough for him to hear her raspy voice. Vanity hated not being able to do anything. It really was eating her alive. But still... She couldn't help but wonder what was gonna happen after she got taken care of.

Whether or not Ange liked her- she was starting to like him. A lot. Like the kind of like that makes you want to stay by that person. Maybe was because she'd never had anyone stick with her this long, even if was for his own purpose. He still stuck by her. She shook her head to clear the thoughts from her mind and took a quiet breath. She couldn't just sit here... They were out of the hospital now, if Ange had to carry her everywhere- they wouldn't get anywhere and they'd get caught. That's what ran through her head anyway.

Vanity took a slow, deep, quiet breath before using the wall to help her stand on her own two feet. Yes she was straining herself but she didn't want to feel like a sick dog waiting to be shot- she couldn't stand it! She propped up against the wall once she was standing and stood there, letting the wall hold her up. "This sucks! Those dirty fuckers..." She muttered quietly. She was so ticked that she actually kind of wanted to cry- but she wasn't going to.

The feeling rose when she couldn't hold herself up and slid down the wall back her butt. She let out a tired breath and hit the wall behind her. "Dammit..." 'I almost had it!' She thought to herself, absolutely enraged.

(Sorry this took so long!)

Ange hated to see Vanity look so different.... So weak now. He couldn't help but watch in an odd fascination as Vanity began to slide up the wall slowly. He was slightly hoping she'd regained the strength to stand, but when she slid back down the wall, he felt his heart sink. It was alright, he'd make sure Vanity regained her coordination. He'd do whatever it took to get her back to herself again.

He quickly turned to peak out of the alleyway again, trying to gauge how how, and possibly, if he should bring Vanity out into the city. The likelihood of them being caught was quite high if he had to carry Vanity. Surely, by nightfall anyway, the guards would do a sweep of the city, and if he and Vanity were still trudging along with him in her arms, they'd be caught. Surely then, their punishment would be unimaginably painful.

And surely, it would be much worse for Vanity than it would ever be for himself. He swore under his breath. What options did he have? Vanity couldn't stay here on her own, he wouldn't risk Vanity being discovered while he was out looking for help. Then, he could carry Vanity, but that would increase their visibility. Ange hated not having enough options. It always made his anger boil out of control and even now, he found himself getting angry. He wanted to yell at Vanity, knowing she wasn't the real source of his anger, he tried his best not to get angry with her, but he found himself snarling and tapping his fingers against the skin of his arm as his arms were crossed over his chest.

"Damn." He murmured. He didn't have much choice. If they went down, they were going down together, he wouldn't leave Vanity to the dogs on her own. He walked over to Vanity and slipped an arm underneath hers and helped her to her feet. He was almost certain she probably couldn't walk on her own, but if he could give the illusion that she could, perhaps they'd blend in a little better. "Can you move your feet a little, Vanity?" He asked.

Though, whether she could or not, he'd still 'walk' her into town. He didn't have much of a plan other than walking Vanity to some nearby shelter, perhaps, while he spent the next few hours pick-pocketing to hopefully get enough money to get them out of town.

Yeah, that sounded like a decent 'plan'. His anger was dissipating a little as he finally thought of another option. Leaving town was their only hope, really. He wouldn't keep Vanity in the dark about the plan, so as he helped Vanity to her feet, he quickly said,

"Okay, Vanity, I'm going to take you to a shelter for a little while. Don't worry, you won't be there long. I'll get us some money, then come back for you and we're getting the hell out of this city."

Vanity glanced over at Ange. He was angry, she could tell just by watching him. He had every right to be. She moved her eyes to stare at the concrete. She wanted to try and stand again..but she doubted that her legs would allow her. It was bad enough that she was fighting sleep- should she really be trying to push her body passed it's limits? She leaned her head back against the brick wall and stared up at the darkening blue sky.

She was so lost in her thoughts that she almost didn't notice Ange slipping an arm under her, and helping her stand. Vanity glanced at him and nodded lightly. "Y-yeah..." She answered quietly- knowing for a fact that if she had something supporting her, she could make the effort to walk. Once she was standing on her feet, Vanity slowly picked one of her feet up, like a half an inch and moved it around a little before putting it back onto the ground. Just to make sure that her feet would cooperate.

Vanity blinked a few times and looked down at the ground when he mentioned taking her to a shelter. She'd heard about those places before when a group of guards were running there mouths. She nodded lightly. "Okay..just don't forget me." She said quietly, averting her eyes from his. Vanity trusted him.

Ange bit his bottom lip as he supported Vanity's standing. This really stunk! Vanity was probably feeling very tired and drugged and there was hardly a thing he could do to help her. He was feeling plum useless at this point. Ange let out a long sigh, he didn't want to make things worse by getting pissy with Vanity for someone she couldn't control. He wrapped another arm around her waist and helped her to walk a little.

Something changed inside of him when she told him not to forget her. As if Ange would forget someone like Vanity! "No..." He said softly, "No, Vanity, I promise, I won't forget you." With the arm underneath hers he slid it across her arm in an attempt to reassure her that he'd come back for her.

"There's gotta be a shelter somewhere close. I recognize this part of town... It's the rough neighborhood. I'm sure the guards will come looking here first, so we probably don't have much time." Ange didn't want to pressure Vanity into over exerting herself, if anything, he was hoping to give her some motivation to keep moving forward. "We'll be clear out of here before nightfall. That's for sure."

Vanity felt a smile tug at her thin lips at Ange's response to her comment. His reassuring promise that he wouldn't forget about her made her feel all warm inside. So far, she'd only felt like that around him when he says certain things. Did Vanity have a crush in him? That thought made her cheeks turn a little pink, she hoped like hell Ange was too busy looking for the shelter to notice.

Her head hung a little when he mentioned the guards were probably going to do sweep this area first, but kept her steps in-sync with his. She closed her eyes and focused on the surrounding buildings. She was trying to use her power to find a shelter, if there was any metal in the building- she'd pick it up. Kind of like a radar. 'Focus... You know the structure of a building like that...' She thought to herself as she tried to channel her energy. After a moment of concentrating, her eyes slowly opened mid-way. They were brighten, like the last time she had used her power.

Vanity channeled her energy through her feet which allowed her to 'scan' the buildings close to her within a limited range. They all looked the same. Every building she could pick up looked the same. Wait a minute..was that a sign? She focused on a large metal sign that read "The Shelter" that didn't look like it was too far from where they were right now. Not too long after, her eyes returned to their natural color and she had to take a minute to steady her breathing. "I think there might be one on the next street over..." She said quietly, glancing up at him from the corner of her eye.

Ange was so concentrated on finding a shelter for Vanity that, at first, he didn't notice when she began to use her powers. He sort of glanced at her through his peripheral vision for a moment when her eyes opened a little and they were ever so bright!

Ange stopped in his tracks and held onto Vanity tightly, worried about her being in danger, perhaps. He wasn't sure what was going on and frankly, he would rather be safe than sorry. Whatever was going on with her, it appeared to be taking quite a bit of her energy. When her eyes returned to their normal color, Ange noticed she seemed to be winded.

Vanity said there may be a shelter on the next street over. Well, Ange wasn't sure how she knew that, but he trusted her. Maybe she was psychic or something too?

"Come on, Vanity..." Ange whispered and he began to walk her towards the next street over. He held on to her waist tightly with one hand as the other supported her hand over his shoulders. He liked the feeling of looking after someone else for a change, rather than always looking after himself. Though, he'd swear up and down that Vanity meant nothing more to him than just a warm body to talk to, he was honestly growing very, very fond of having her around.

The shelter came into view and Ange grew anxious. He gently lifted his hand from Vanity's waist and slipped it under her legs to pick her up once again.

"Look," he said, "I'll tell them you're sick or something, we're siblings and I'm dropping you off here until I can find our distant relative who will pick us up at the nearest train station." He sighed, "I'm not that good with coming up with fake background stories on the fly, give me a break..."

Vanity looked up at Ange from the corner of her eye and nodded lightly, walking in sync with him once again when he began to walk. She wasn't sure why he had stopped in the first place, but she really wasn't up to questioning him. She was just glad that he trusted her enough to take her word on the location of the shelter. Vanity sometimes honestly wished that she could've been a normal girl, but other times she was grateful to her powers and abilities she received from the soul eater attack.

Taken of guard when Ange suddenly adjusted his arms and picked her up princess-style, her cheeks turned a pale shade of pink. She calmed down he started talking and simply nodded. "I think it sounds fine." She said quietly, offering a small almost unnoticeable smirk.

It wasn't very noticeable, yet, Ange still noticed when Vanity's cheeked became a little rosy. He had to admit, she was actually very cute. Ange shook the thought from his head, focus, Ange! He boldly marched towards the shelter with Vanity held tightly to his chest. He wasn't a very good liar, but he had taken some acting classes back in elementary school... He was sure lying was just really, really good acting, right?

Once he got the door open, he noticed right away that there was a woman sitting behind a desk, probably checking people in and making sure nothing dangerous got through the doors. Ange did his best to look pitiful and sad.

"Excuse me...?" He said to the woman, as he spoke he took extra care in playing up his French accent. "My sister and I have been homeless for a couple of days now... Our parents have died recently and we are waiting for our uncle to come and get us. I will be alright, but my sister is very sick and I think she will need a place to rest."

It was much easier to lie than Ange originally thought! The woman seemed sympathetic. She offered to allow Vanity to rest in one of their beds, as most of the beds were open right now, considering it was only the afternoon. The room with the beds was vast and pleasantly clean. Ange picked one closest to the door and gently laid Vanity onto the bed. He leaned in, close to her face and whispered in her ear,

"Don't worry, I promise I will be back before you know it." While the woman watched him, he ran a hand through her hair and leaned in to kiss her forehead gently. It was quite fun pretending to be the protective older brother. He didn't wait to be escorted out of the room, he just turned around and booked it towards the door. The faster he could get the money for train tickets or even bus passes, the faster they could get out of this town!

Vanity kind of clung to Ange, acting like the scared/nervous younger sister who was obviously sick. That part wasn't a lie. When Ange laid her down in the bed and whispered into her ear, she nodded lightly. Looking absolutely adorable after he kissed her forehead, knowing it was just in act of their little brother-sister plan they currently had going.

After he left, she curled up in the bed. Not too much later after Ange had left, a volunteer slowly approached Vanity with a plate of food, since they were serving lunch and she had just arrived. Usually they had the people line up, but they took the food to their sick visitors. "Miss, you must be starving..here, have something to eat." She offered kindly. Vanity rolled over and looked at the girl before slowly sitting up and taking the offered food. "Thank you." She said politely.

The volunteer nodded to her and went back to help the others, allowing the girl to eat in peace. Vanity examined the food for a bit before actually eating it in small bites. It actually tasted pretty good. She needed whatever strength she could conserve/ gather while staying here, and that was her plan. So she wouldn't slow Ange down.

(Sorry, it's so long!)

It felt weird being back in town, finally, though, Ange didnt stay in the hospital long, it was so refreshing to be back in the city. He was beginning to think he'd never see the light of day again. It was good to be back.

Now, to get to the task at hand! Ange needed to collect enough money to get out of town with Vanity and he needed it FAST! This was a rather rough part of town, he wasn't expecting to see many businessmen or doctors wandering around at this time... What time was it, anyway? Ange had lost track of the time since this morning. The events that happened earlier that day didn't feel like they were even a part of Ange's life. Like it was all a dream. Even Vanity felt like a dream.

His thoughts wandered on Vanity for a while. She was an interesting little number. He was anxious to get to know more about her, but he'd have plenty of time to get to know her as they left town. Ange approached a gas station, where he quickly ducked in and looked for road maps and bus info.

He found both easily and managed to steal them without being noticed. (The owner really needed to find better places to hide those security cameras if they wanted to be discreet!) He walked out of the gas station and quickly hid in the shadows of an alleyway, not too far from the shelter where he'd dropped off Vanity. He pulled out the road map of the state... There were many options and many places for them to go win in the state. Would the hospital staff risk searching the entire state looking for two escaped teen patients?! Ange hoped that they wouldn't! Still, he wasn't sure if he felt safe taking that chance.

Where to go, where to go...? Ange frantically searched the map and then looked through the bus schedule. Well, he could always drop in on his family, perhaps? He contemplated it... No, they had abandoned him at the hospital, they left him to die, there'd be no good in visiting them except to kill them. That gave Ange the best idea.

Yes, he'd take Vanity to see his family, he checked the bus schedule again and was very happy when he saw that the bus did have a stop in the city where his parents lived. He'd bring Vanity to his home and from there, he'd plot his revenge on those who treated him wrongly.

A doctor walked by. Ange could tell he was a doctor because he still had his lab coat on. Just his luck!

"Excuse me, sir?" Ange asked as the man had almost passed Ange on the sidewalk.

"Yes?" The man asked, Ange practically had x Ray vision, he could easily see where the doctor kept his wallet, tucked loosely in an inner pocket of his lab coat.

"Can you read that sign for me? Over there? I am French and I am looking for a street that my relative will pick me up in that place." Ange made sure to really sauce on the accent, though it probably sounded really crummy to an actual Frenchman, he was glad it was, at least, passable as legit for an American. The doctor turned around to see the 'sign' that Ange was pointing to, in this time, Ange took the opportunity to 'accidentally' bump the doctor and knock his wallet from his inner pocket, which, once it was knocked to the ground, Ange snatched it as quickly as lightening before the doctor ever noticed it was missing, the doctor gave a nervous chuckle when he was bumped and he quickly read the sign to Ange and mumbled something about being late and having to leave right away.

Ange couldn't thank him enough... For being so stupid.

When the doctor was out if sights Ange dug through the wallet, removing the photo ID and taking out the cash and credit cards.

....

It was easier to buy the tickets than Ange originally thought. It was almost evening, if the hospital guards were going to look for him and Vanity, they'd do it soon. He took off towards the shelter immediately. He and Vanity needed to get out of there now!

After Vanity had finished her lunch, she set the plate aside and laid down, staring up at the ceiling. A light pulse ran through her body and her eyes widen slightly, plus her vision got all messed up for a minute there. Her eyes softened after a moment of recovering and her vision cleared up. Was it the serum? Speaking of which..she could slowly feel herself sinking away from the world. Unable to fight the serum any longer, Vanity's eyes slowly slid closed and she fell into a black sleep. Appearing to be sleeping like a normal person would if they were sick.

It wasn't until a few hours later that one of the volunteers went over to check on her. "Miss? Are you alright?" She asked softly, trying to wake her but not scare her. The volunteer gently shook her to try and wake her a different way, and nothing. Thus, the volunteer began to worry. She tried a few more things to wake her, all of which failed, and she looked at the one running the place. "H-hey, I think we need to call an ambulance. She won't wake up, it's like she fell into a coma!" She called. The owner nodded to the volunteer and quickly went to call for an ambulance, explaining that he wasn't sure what had happened but one of the visitors was sick and wouldn't wake up.

Since the call had been placed about someone at a homeless shelter, the doctors worried about caring for the "important" people, before sending an ambulance to the shelter to check on the girl that the call had been placed for (about the time that Ange was pick-pocketing the doctor guy). When they arrived, they went inside and asked who they had made the call about so that they could see what the fuss was about. The volunteer who had requested the call, led them over to the bed that Vanity had been sleeping on. The nurses looked at each other after examining her. "She seems fine, everything reads normal." One of them said. "Nothing will wake her." Said the volunteer. "Isn't that concerning?" She asked.

The nurses sighed and the one looked at the volunteer. "Fine, if it's really that bothersome- we'll give her a ride to the hospital and run some tests on her." He said. The volunteer nodded. "Thank you!" She chirped, clearly worried. Not even a minute went by before Vanity's bright pink eyes shot open and she slowly moved her head to look at the people by her bed. "Who are you?" She asked in a dark voice. Clearly, she wasn't herself. The lights were on but nobody was home. "Oh look, she's awake." Said one of the nurses.

A blood curling scream could be heard clear across town as an unknown horror took place at the shelter. One of the nurses tried to give her a shot to relax her so they could take her to the hospital like they had told the volunteer- that didn't go over too well ('nough said). A very murderous and blood-covered Vanity, her eyes still a bright pink, slowly walked out of the shelter.

She walked down the nearest alley for about ten minutes before losing her consciousness and falling to the ground.

((don't worry, i'll explain what happened in the following post ^^'' sorry if i led you to a dead end x.x))

(It's totally alright! I can work with it!)

As Ange got a little closer to the street where the shelter was located, a scream reached his ears. He wasn't sure who was screaming, it probably wasn't anything to be worried about, but he'd grown rather... Protective of Vanity. His heart began to race and he broke out into a sprint towards the shelter.

"Please be okay, please be okay..." He chanted softly beneath his breath as he ran. He approached the shelter, nothing looked out of the ordinary, that he could tell. Though, the sight of the ambulance gave him heart palpitations. He prayed to whatever deity was out there that Vanity was alright.

He ran into the shelter and was greeted with a grisly sight. Blood.... Beyond what his eyes could see. Blood with horribly tangled bodies across the floor. He felt strange seeing it all, but the only thing on his mind was Vanity...

"Vanity...?!" He called. There was no response. He looked for Vanity in other rooms, yet, still, no response. A strange feeling fell across his chest... He couldn't tell if it was fear or disappointment, maybe some mix of the two. "Vanity!!" He screamed, yet, no one answered.

He ran outside and continued to scream for Vanity. Whatever happened in there, he'd hoped that Vanity had not been harmed.

((i'm glad it's okay ^-^))

Vanity laid in the alley nearest to the shelter, unconscious. Some random black cat with midnight blue eyes, that was looking for food saw the girl and cautiously approached her. Unaware that she wasn't conscious. When the cat got close enough to see her eyes closed, the cat sniffed her face and started licking the blood from her face. It took some time, but once her face was mostly clean, the content cat proceeded to nuzzle her.

Vanity came to, and her eyes slowly fluttered opened. Startled by the black cat starring at her, she jumped to her feet, then watched the stray cat run off down the alley. She put a hand on her head and closed her eyes. Her head was spinning... She opened her eyes back up and looked at her hands as she lowered them. Blood. Her eyes widen and she slumped against the wall with her back turned to it. 'It happened again...' She thought to herself as she starred at her bloodied hands.

She looked down at her clothes. Also bloody. Vanity sank to the ground, just letting herself slide against the wall behind her. This was exactly what she was afraid of! What was she going to tell Ange? She blinked and looked up at the sky, thinking that she had heard his voice. Was he..looking for her? She wondered. A small twisted smirk spread across her thin lips as her hair covered her eyes. She couldn't let him see her like this! What would he think? All she needed was it to rain so that the blood would be washed away. But the sky didn't look like that was going to happen.

She sat there for a few minutes longer before slowly standing and started walking down the dark alley, still a little weak- but at least she could function. Vanity didn't know where she was going, she just knew that she couldn't stay in the alley. What if the guards started patrolling? She'd totally be caught! That wasn't gonna happen. Who knows, maybe she would bump into Ange and be forced to explain herself. She hoped not.

Panic started to set in as Ange continued to call for Vanity. The lack of response made him worry about her wellbeing... He felt responsible for her, after all, she didn't even want to leave the hospital! It was his idea, so he should have at least taken care of her while they were free, for however short of time that might be.

Ange didn't have the slightest idea of where to look, and he didn't think it would be smart to ask any survivors in the shelter where Vanity went. Great. If anyone caught on to what happened, the psychiatric hospital will send people out looking for Vanity right away! They probably had people scoping this area as he stood there and thought.

Alright, there was no point in screaming for Vanity and giving away their positions. He needed to remain calm. If the hospital sent guards out and they heard him screaming for Vanity, they'd both be caught even faster. Ange too this moment to look around, trying to see if he could spot Vanity nearby. He didn't.

Ange cursed. He'd have to find Vanity on his own without yelling for her. This wasn't a big city, but it certainly wasn't small! Still, he'd do all that it took to find her and make sure Vanity was safe. Ange broke out into a run and ran down the street, eyes darting in every direction as he tried to find Vanity.

Vanity was happy to hear the yelling had stopped, but she knew that Ange was still looking for her. Unsure what to do, Vanity sighed and looked up at the darkened sky. 'Maybe he'll understand..or at least not care...' She thought to herself. She really wanted to see him... Vanity shook her head and leaned against the wall for some support, feeling a little light-headed for a minute. How could she be crushing on someone who didn't like her? She was all so confused and lost.

Her eyes widen at the sound of barking dogs. The dogs that belonged to the guards from the hospital. Their sweep had begun, and they had turned their dogs loose to sniff them out! 'Shit!' She thought to herself. The barking was far off enough to know that she would be safe for a little while longer, but not much longer. She had to figure something out, fast! Her head was still a little messed up from the blackout. Shaking her head and taking a deep breath, she set out to look for Ange.

They had to stick together, and they would have to live with it. Clearly, she didn't need to be alone and he was probably going crazy trying to find her. So, swallowed her fear of how he might possibly react, and focused her power on finding him, like she did with the shelter. Only now it was easier because she wasn't dead on her ass. After a while of tracing him with her power, she found him. Her eyes returned to their natural color and she stood in plain sight. She didn't approach him, she found him.

Her head pounding a little from pushing herself, she ignored it the best she could. Vanity was busy forcing herself to stand still and not run off at a moments notice. She usually didn't care what other people thought. Why had that suddenly changed when she met Ange?

Ange ran, not really looking where he was going, but he kept running simply hoping he'd find Vanity. He stopped dead in his tracks when he heard the distant sound of dogs barking...

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Ange cursed, now his attention changed to making sure he kept himself hidden. Those dogs were probably ruthless and the last thing he wanted was to be attacked by an angry dog and dragged back to the horrible hospital. That place was worse than hell and Ange would make sure that he didn't go back without a fight.

Ange felt his heart race as he heard the dogs' barking get louder. They were too late to avoid the sweep. If they made it out alive, they had to leave NOW before they were caught. But in this big town, it could take Ange hours to find Vanity!

He worried about her, especially now with the dogs out. He knew in the back of his mind that the hospital staff would be more concerned with returning Vanity than they would be with him, but if they caught him first, they'd probably do all in their power to squeeze the information about her from him. Ange would never rollover on Vanity, no matter what sorts of torture they might make him endure.

However, he was also going to do all in his power to avoid said torture. He cursed again. Where the hell did Vanity go?!

Vanity watched Ange for a moment before slipping behind a building. She couldn't do it after all... The barking got louder, and her hair covered her red magenta eyes. She knew where he was now. All she had to do was somehow let him know where she was. Getting an idea, she glanced down at the beaded necklace hanging around her neck (the one in the picture). She had completely forgotten that she was wearing it!

Vanity slowly took the necklace off from around her neck and made it float using her ability. It did have metal in it after all. Her eyes started glowing again and she pin-pointed where Ange was, again, before sending the necklace off in his direction. He was pretty close to her, and didn't even know it.

She closed her eyes to concentrate, and block out the sound of the barking dogs. When she had gotten the necklace close to Ange's face, it just kind of hovered there long enough for him to notice it, then started inching its way back towards Vanity as she slowly pulled it back towards herself. She only hoped that he would follow the floating necklace. It had been awhile since using her ability like this, and wasn't sure how much longer she could keep it up.

Even though Ange told himself he'd stop at nothing to find Vanity, he was preparing to throw the towel in until some rather shiny caught his attention in his peripheral vision... He looked up, trying to figure out where the sudden light was coming from... It was a necklace. At first Ange was confused, thought it was probably a bad omen or something, however, he soon recognized it.

"Vanity!" Ange whispered, his lips curled into a thin smile. He stared at it for a moment, not really sure what to expect. Would Vanity communicate through it? What was- Oh. The necklace slowly began to move and Ange found himself very drawn to its shiny beauty. He followed it like a cat follows a mouse, tip toeing around to make sure he wasn't heard. Those dogs had super keen hearing!

It only took a few steps before Vanity soon came into view. The second his eyes landed on Vanity, he broke out into a sprint to approach her. All the while, hoping that he didn't alert the guards of his presence. "Vanity!" He whispered as he came near her. She was looking a little better, still, not as bright and fiery as she did when he'd first met her in the hospital. "Vanity, I've got the tickets, we can get out of town!" He kept his voice down, not going above a whisper. "How are you holding up?"

He grabbed her wrist and tugged gently. "We can still make it if we hurry!"

(oh my god, i couldn't help but laugh at the 'he followed it like a cat following a mouse' xD)

Vanity's necklace eventually made it back into her hands and she gripped it tightly. Her eyes returned to their natural color and she watched Ange approach her. She was glad that he saw it, and followed it. Otherwise they would've been at it for awhile, or given up and stopped looking. Even though she knew exactly where he was. A small smile crept onto her pale and slightly darkened face due to the stains of blood that the cat couldn't clean off.

Maybe it was too dark for him to see her clothes had blood on them, and her hands... Or maybe he just didn't care. She didn't know what to think. When he mentioned the tickets, her smile widen a little. She was glad to hear that. But..did she still want to go with him? Shoving the thought from her head, she blinked a few times and smirked. "I can move on my own, without slumping over." She answered just loud enough for him to hear her soft voice.

He wanted to her go with him. She noted, when he took a hold of her wrist and gave it a gentle tug. Vanity looked at him and nodded. "Lead the way, I'm right behind you." She said to him, meaning every word that came out of her mouth. Her one hand was still holding onto the necklace- now it meant something to her.

( lol! Sorry for typos)

Ange grabbed her wrist tightly, making sure not to lett it slip from his grip. He'd not let Vanity out of his sight after this. He felt too protective of her to let her leave him again like that. He would never admit it, but he had definitely grown to like Vanity. The way she looked at him made him have strange feelings in the pit of his stomach, a strange feeling that he was afraid of, at first, but had eventually grown to like.,

For whatever reason, her appearance didn't bother him in the slightest, he was only glad that he'd found her and she was safe. It was a big relief, though, as he began to drag Vanity along, he did realize he'd have to get her out of those bloody clothes and theyd have to wash her face. Cosmetic fixes. Easily remedied.

He quickly pulled Vanity into the shadows of another alleyway, one between a couple of boutiques and a doughnut shop. He grabbed Vanity's shoulders and held her close to his body for a moment as he scoped the area, just to be sure it was safe. When his assessment confirmed they were safe, for now, he gently let Vanity go and looked her dead in the eye...

"You've got to get out of those clothes..." He whispered. He reached out and began to tug at her clothes, then drew back a little as he realized what he was doing. Vanity probably wouldn't appreciate him touching her clothes like that, no matter how bloody and dirty they may be. "You need new clothes..." He cursed himself, she changed him so much. Had this beeen a month ago, he'd have ripped the clothes from her and covered her with his own, regardless of her feelings. Back then, no one's feelings mattered to him. The only thing that mattered was what could be used to his advantage.... and frankly, he would use Vanity to his advantage. Just, not yet. And besides, her feelings truly did matter to him.

"Come on!" He whispered again and he grabbed her hand and tugged. He pointed into the pitch black darkness of the alleyway, saying, "We can find some new clothes if we search through the garbage, or even if we steal some from the clothes hanging out to dry."

Ange was anxious to get out of this city. To go far away and never come back... But really, he was more anxious to execute his plan.

Vanity followed him, noticing how he had gripped onto her wrist as if she was going to disappear again. Maybe he thought she would, if he didn't have a hold of her. The thought made her turn a little pink, but she quickly shook the thought from her head and continued to follow him. Not worried about what he was thinking right now- they needed to get out of town before they were caught!

She was a little curious as to why they had gone into another alley way, but soon figured it was to get out of the main street. So they could hide a little better. Her dark red magenta eyes widen slightly when he suddenly pulled her into him and she fought the urge to shove away from him, but managed to keep still. She blinked when he let go of her and looked at her dead in the eyes. It gave her chills..but she didn't mind. She could see it in his eyes that he had become some-what attached to her.

Vanity blinked again when he gave her clothes a little tug, after informing her that she needed to get out of the clothes. She calmed down a little when he drew his hand back and glanced around for a dumpster when he mentioned her needing new clothes. If she were more rested, she could probably have used her metal-controlling ability to just remove the blood from her skin and clothes, but for now she would just need to change. She didn't have the focus or the strength to try and use the metal in ones blood to manipulate it.

She nodded to him when he grabbed and tugged her stained hand. "Let's go then." Vanity said to him, ready to follow him to wherever it was he was going to take her. Just as long as it wasn't another shelter...

Ange reached out to grab Vanity's hand. Oh, it felt so good to be able to see and hear her once more. That was too much of a scare when she was gone. Sure, he was planning to use Vanity for his own twisted purposes, but he hated to admit, he truly did love having her around.

He sighed as he tugged on her hand and started walking. There had to be some clothes around here somewhere. He sighed again, letting go of Vanity's hand and shrugged off his sweater. Thankfully he had a scrub shirt on underneath it. He was forever grateful that the hospital guards had at least allowed him to keep his sweater and jeans. After all, it is usually pretty drafty in those psychiatric wards... Almost like they were trying to freeze the patients to death, or at least make them cold enough to slow them down...

"Here." Ange threw his sweater at Vanity. "At least it'll work as some sort of cover for now, until we can find new clothes." He secretly hoped it would also provide to keep Vanity warm. Ange realized that he had not been very mindful of the time. Their bus to get out of town would leave pretty soon. The sun was already down, they probably didn't have much time if they were to reach the station in time after finding Vanity some presentable clothing.

Ange swore under his breath. So many obstacles, so many hurdles they needed to jump, and for what?? To get out of town! He would never forgive his family for abandoning him in such a horrid hospital. Then, he had nothing but thanks for them, for they had given him the opportunity to meet Vanity. Whom, he had become very, very fond of. He reached for her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"How are you doing...? Alright?" He asked. He wanted to be sure Vanity had the strength to move around a bit before he went dumpster diving for clothes and then they both had to be at their highest level of energy to run back to the station to catch the Greyhound in time!

Vanity smirked when Ange had grabbed her hand again, then tugged it before he started walking. She followed him, keeping her eyes on the concrete beneath her feet. She lifted her head a little to watch the boy curiously. It was clear to her that he did like having her around, and that she had scared him when she suddenly went a-wall. He seemed to balance her out though...

She blinked when Ange shrugged off his sweater, and then threw it at her. She caught it easily and stared at it for a moment as they walked, before slipping it on over her stained shirt. It was warm..compared to her abnormally cold skin. She began to watch the concrete as they continued to walk. Where were her words? Why couldn't she think of anything to say?!

When Ange took a hold of her hand again, she blinked a few times. A small smile came to her thin lips and she gave his hand a comforting squeeze. Maybe he did care for her after all... "I'm..fine..." She answered quietly after hesitating for a moment. "I can manage." She added quietly, letting go of his hand.

"Let's just get out here..."

It was strange... Ange found himself getting lost in Vanity's eyes. Their beautiful magenta color was so easy to get lost in, and Ange found himself getting pulled further into their beauty the longer he stared. It took a suprising amount of willpower for him to pull himself out of her eyes and focus on the task at hand.

Ange turned around and took off running, they didn't have very much time, and now with the guards on their tails, they had to get out of town as quickly as they possibly could. There was a few clothing lines a couple of blocks ahead of them and Ange saw a T-shirt that would probably fit Vanity, (albeit, it would probably be too big) and he figured he'd grab it quickly before they were noticed or caught.

He ran towards it, snatching it quickly from the line and then ran back to Vanity, making sure to keep himself cloaked in the shadows of the alleyways. He approached Vanity with the T shirt and threw it at her, similarly to how he'd thrown his sweater at her.

"Hurry up!" He demanded. "We don't have much time, you can just put the T shirt over your bloody clothes." If Vanity wanted to fully change, he'd give her the privacy she wanted, but currently, he was so anxious to get out of town, so anxious to move forward with his plan, that he found he couldn't stay still for too long. He needed to move, felt on edge at all times and he was ready to run if it should come to that.

"Hurry up, and we'll get to the bus stop and get the hell out of here!"

Vanity blinked a few times when she noticed Ange starring into hers. When he looked away from her, she manged to avert her eyes and began looking at the ground. She continued to stand there as Ange ran off down the street, figuring he'd be right back. So she stayed put like a good girl. She lifted her head when the earlier barking reached her ears again and watched as Ange came running back, holding a shirt in his hand.

She was a little lost..he'd already given up his sweater to put over her bloody shirt. So, why'd he go to get a T-shirt for her? It didn't quite make sense to her..plus they didn't have time for this. If they stuck around much longer, they'd be caught to for sure. When he tossed the shirt at her, she caught and raised an eyebrow. Vanity sighed and quickly took the sweater off.

Since she had a sports bra on under her clothes, which was normal for woman to wear out in public- something else she didn't understand. She also didn't think about how Ange would think if she changed out like this. She just took her bloody shirt off and threw it aside, into a muddy puddle, revealing many scars on her stomach and torso from being at the mental hospital for so many years. "I'm going as fast as I can!" She replied to Ange's demand.

She quickly tossed on the large shirt that Ange had gotten for her and put his sweater back on. Vanity looked at him with her eyebrows furrowed together just as he had let out a second "hurry up" at her. "Alright, alright- let's get going!"
