Welcome to NPC LOVE! This thread was an idea that came to my during the festival of winter nights. Some users were hanging out talking about how much they look forward to seeing the NPC's here, but they rarely come out. So We talked and imagined what it would be like to meet them.. then it hit me if we love them so much why not send them Valentines! So here we are, lots of people put in time, talent and energy to make this thread come alive. All writing and art you find here even down to the little banners has been made by a fellow user! So come jump in write a story or poem about you favorite NPC doodle, draw or paint a masterpiece of one. Or just be a fanboy or fan girl. Under the pretext as "older sibling" (albeit only by a slim few minutes) Penny fancies herself to be the brains of the operation. Evan, meanwhile, does most of the wheeling and dealing. At first, it hadn’t been his intention to be secretive, but he was inadvertently hidden behind the pillar, tending to the clematis vines that curled their way up the column. Nalin briefly glanced up as he heard his front gate open, though the people who had entered were obscured from his view. Two voices, one male and one female, conversed in almost hushed tones, their words indistinguishable at this distance. Straightening up, he brushed what soil he could form his apron in preparation to step out to greet these customers and ask what he could help them with. A pair of lovebirds that wanted roses, no doubt! Business at Petal Paradise was good this time of year.
“Are you sure we shouldn’t tell him?” came the first bit of audible conversation as the couple drew closer. Nalin recognized the deep voice as Magnus’, and paused. Shouldn’t tell who what? Was something wrong with the Valentine’s Day event that would alarm the Menewshans? Perhaps one of the seven deadly sins surfaced to cause problems. It had already happened twice. Pursing his lips, Nalin opted to stay where he was and hear what was being said.
“Oh, it’s nothing bad about Nalin, you know that, I think he’s nothing short of a darling.” It took Nalin a moment longer to recall the name of this speaker, and when he did, he frowned in puzzlement. Mango? He couldn’t recall much about her, other than that she owned and ran Lingerie Land, a shop several blocks over, and that Magnus seemed to be on friendly terms with her. Strange, that they should be talking about him.
“And I know you trust him completely—don’t you give me that look, Magnus!” she continued, silencing a protest from her companion. “And I would like you to be able to tell him, I really would. But if we tell anyone before we’re very sure about this… this whole thing, it will be a grand old mess. Somehow, everyone will find out if even one other person knows. I wouldn’t be Nalin’s fault, dear, just the way things are.”
Nalin wished he had something to choke on. She’d called Magnus dear!
“Menewsha will be in such a state, everyone wanting to know every detail and asking us when we will be engaged and when will we have a baby, when we’re only trying to see if this… we, if we would work out.” he heard Mango continue, “Have you forgotten how popular you got with the citizens after you lead that red roses team last Valentine’s Day? All of your old team, and then some, wouldn’t leave us alone about it! We want to take it one step at a time; they’d want us to jump the gun. It would end our relationship before it’s even started.”
“I suppose,” Magnus reluctantly agreed.
It was worth the risk of being seen. Nalin tentatively peered around the support, wondering if he was mishearing all of this.
He saw Mango take one of Magnus’ large hands in her own slender ones, and gaze up at him with a certain adoration. “In time, love.”
Magnus smiled. “In time,” he repeated.
“Now, I’d best get to work,” she told him, “I’ve got to open up shop in ten minutes. Please, don’t tell Nalin while you’re here visiting? Not just yet.”
“For now, I won’t say a word to him about it,” Magnus promised. He looked like he might kiss her, and she like she might kiss him, until they realized that a Nalin might step outside at any time, or that one of his customers could be walking up at this very moment.
Nalin found himself grinning hugely. Well! Fancy that. Perhaps some little cupid was at work on Menewsha this year.
“We’re meeting in the park this evening after work, don’t forget,” Mango said, reluctantly sliding her hands away from his.
“I wouldn’t miss it,” Magnus told her. Beaming, she departed.
Magnus watched her go until she rounded the corner and disappeared from view. Adjusting his collar, he turned to head inside of Nalin’s shop to chat with his old friend as though there was no news to share before he himself went off to open Wonderland Boutique for the day.
Nalin already stood in front of the porch, next to a clematis-covered pillar that would have obscured him from view rather nicely.
“Lots of people need to buy roses for their Valentines right about now,” he said.
Something in his grin told Magnus that he had heard every word.

It was a handful of days before Victoria’s favorite day of the year, she had spent a large portion of the last few weeks whipping everyone on the island up into the Valentines day spirit. The town was already slathered in pink, red, and white. Of course she got Lucien to help her with the prep work like usual.
However one particular Menewshan was not in any kind of celebrating mood, Vicktoria’s cousin Tesel.
She sat in her weapon shop a large claymore sitting before her as she used a whet stone to hone it’s newly forged blade. The sound of grinding steel was music to her ears as she hummed a soft tune while sharpening the sword.
Her slender arms were well toned with muscle from all the years of training and weapon smithing. The short bangs of her hair stuck to her brow that was moist with sweat from the heat of the forge, the rest of her body was in similarly condition with a light sheen of moisture on her exposed skin. She didn’t pay it any mind though, she happily continued to work with the blade as if a child playing with it’s favorite toy.
Her attention was pulled away from her work as she heard someone enter her armory, one hand instinctively gripped the shaft of the pudao mounted on her back, however she eased the grip realizing who had entered without turning to look at them.
“What do you want.” She spoke the words harshly while returning to grinding the stone against the sword she had just finished yesterday.
“What a rude way to address me Tesel, what if I were a cust-”
“I could smell you when you walked in, you stink of perfume and flowers!” She barked the retort before her cousin could finish the words.
Vicktoria rolled her eyes in disgust as she looked around the shop. “It’s too hot in here, and you have done no decorating what so ever!”
Tesel laid the sword against the work bench and walked over to her cousin, the stench of her perfume growing stronger. “So … have you come to give me interior decorating advice now?”
“Of course!” Vicktoria said it happily. She was dressed in a blouse and dress with typical Valentines day colors. The dress was a bit short so it showed off the white stockings quite well but it was all an eye sore to Tesel.
Victoria began to produce several bright decorations from the bag she was carrying. All manner of pink and reds, it was amazing she could hold so much stuff in the bag she carried.
“Woah woah woah!” Tesel grabbed her cousins wrist to stop her from emptying the contents of the entire bag in her shop. “I don’t need this crap, this is a weapon shop not a florist. You want to decorate some place with that junk go throw it all over Nalin’s place!”
Vicktoria felt her wrist snatched, cutting her eyes up to her cousin with a glare replacing the normal serene motherly look. “Let go of me Tesel”
“Then get your love crap out of my damn shop!” Tesel pulled her hand away with a stern glare of her own.
“What’s wrong with you!? You’re like this every Valentines day, can’t you get in the spirit even the slightest?” Vicky started putting the decorations back in the bag but her glare remained fixed on her cousin.
“Get in the spirit? It’s a worthless holiday!” Tesel snapped the words out and before long the two were arguing as they normally did at times like this.
“It’s not worthless! It’s a beautiful wonderful day full of love and happiness.”
“No it’s pointless just like you’re stupid decorations.”
“You’re just like a scrooge on Christmas you know that?”
“Oh that’s a great come back, let me think of a good one for you … How about you’re a complete disgrace to our whole family you damn love freak!”
Victoria looked at her with a hurtful look but grit her teeth, her fist clenched tightly as it shook. Tesel saw her shaking hand and was already prepared to deflect a punch or slap. However the moment came to an abrupt halt as they heard the sound of a voice from the entrance of the shop
“Oh my … look at you two … I like a good cat fight as much as the next kitsune, but family really shouldn’t fight.” Their visitor was Gary the head master from one of the local universities; he was dressed in colors similar to Victoria’s. Mostly pink and white, however his bright brownish orange ears and tail were a slightly contras to the outfit.
Tesel grunted her disapproval at the sight of him in general but his outfit made it much worse today. “Oh look … now my day is complete since my two favorite people in the world have visited me!”
Gary grinned broadly at Victoria, his tail wagging as he looked back over at Tesel, her comment was obviously sarcasm but he just played along with it. “Oh … I didn’t know you cared so much cutie …”
Tesel slammed her fist down on the nearest counter, her other hand reaching to grasp the shaft of her pudao as she shot a hateful glare at the fox. “I told you not to call me that ever again!”
“I thought you would be rather happy someone was interested in you Tesel.” Victoria chimed in as Tesel gripped the long pole arm tighter.
Flicking open a large orchid fan Gary began to wave it in front of his face to fan himself as he gave a playful look at the enraged weapon smith.“Your cousin doesn’t like me much Vicky … I think she thinks I’m a creepy pervert …”
“You are a creepy pervert!” both the girls said it simultaneously as a large sweat drop rolled down the back of the kitsune’s head.
“Ok my shop is getting too damn crowded today, I think you both need to leave … now!” Tesel barked the words out as she looked back and forth between her two visitors. Victoria took a few steps back towards the door as she grumbled however Gary continued to fan himself.
“Is it hot in here or is it just you?” He said the words with a playful grin as he stared at the pissed off woman with the very large spear.
Tesel glared menacingly at him and swung her Pudao forward in an over head chop as Victoria gasped and jumped back with her eyes covered. A loud metalic clank was heard as she looked back up to see Gary holding his fan with both hands, the large spear suspended against the steel folds of it just a few inches from the tips of his pointed ears.
“Ah he he … you only took the swing because you knew I would deflect it huh?” He grinned at her playfully with a little sweat trickling down his brow. He was holding the spear up but it was taking all his strength and she was only holding it with one arm.
“You piss me off fox …” She gripped the shaft of the pudao with her other hand. Gary’s eyes went wide for a moment and with another loud clang and movement faster than the eye his fan flew through the air and planted into the floor next to him where he had fallen backwards from the blow.
His tail thumped against the floor of the shop as he sat on his butt on the ground, leaning back on his hands with the cute shop keeper glaring down at him menacingly. “Ah … you’re always my favorite Tesel, someday I will beat you in a match and you will owe me that date.”
He yipped suddenly as the point of the pole arm jabbed right at his throat, stopping just shy of piercing his neck as he looked up at her with only one of his bright red eyes open. “Get up and get out.” Tesel said it as she pulled the pudao away and stepped back.
“Tesel wasn’t that a bit … excessive? You could of hurt Gary!” Victoria finally spoke up after witnessing the whole scene.
“It’s none of your business Vicky. Now leave” Tesel went back to her sword and began to sharpen it once again.
Gary hopped up off the floor and snatched his fan, spinning around once as he flicked it open again and began to fan the sweat from his brow while looking at Victoria. “It’s ok. Let her be, It’s just how she is you know …”
Victoria grumbled as she started to speak. “Yea but ..”
“Hey Vicky, how are things going with Lucian?? You know I still think Jack is better for you if you can get over the whole vampire thing.” He stuck his tongue out playfully at her. “However you know … if you’re free Saturday night …”
“Ok I’m leaving, talk to you later Tesel!” Victoria quickly beat a retreat out the door with flared up cheeks.
“You sure know what buttons to push to scare my cousin off … now why are you still here?” She said the words with a loud scraping sound as she drug the stone across the blade extra hard.
Gary flicked his fan back and forth as he took a seat in the shop, staying out of striking distance of the sword or the large pole arm. “Tesel … You seem extra moody as of late. Is it because of the upcoming holiday?”
She looked over at him out of the corner of her eye. “Why should I care about a useless holiday like that?”
“What’s useless about it? It’s no more useless than Christmas … and I saw you out there playing in the snow just like everyone else.”
Tesel continued to sharpen her blade silently, her eyes focused on the weapon.
“Why do you have such a strong distaste for love Tesel?” Gary said it while holding the fan over his face so only his eyes were looking at her from the folds of the sharp metal folds.
Sighing lightly she stood up and looked back at the kitsune staring at her. “Love Can’t win you any battles or make you stronger, it’s useless”
His ears perked up at the word as he snapped his fan closed and pointed it at her, the tip of it aimed right at her well developed chest as he looked at her with one eye open. “Oh ho … You know many a warrior has devoted themselves to love.”
Glaring at his pointing fan she reached for the shaft of her pudao once more before Gary pulled the fan away and averted his eyes. “Many have let their guard down and died because of it as well” She eased the grip on her spear as she replied to his comment.
“Heh … touché. However many have surpassed their limits because of it.” He stood up and stretched his arms upwards as his fluffy tail flicked back and forth quickly

“She does seem happier you know. I mean your life you have now. I’m sure it’s fulfilling but what’s the point if there is no one to share it with.” He grinned as he said the words, running his fingers through his own hair as he hummed gently.
Tesel glared at the sword as she thought about the words then glared up at the kitsune In her shop. “I think I liked you better before when you didn’t try to analyze my head!” She gripped the pudao on her back as she lowered herself into a fighting stance.
Both fans flicked open in his hands as he wagged his tail back and forth quickly, lowering into a slight pounce position as one fan hung down at his side, the other cutting through the air in a waving motion. “I understand you better than your sister does. Some things cannot be conveyed through words you know …”
“Shut up and get out!” With a lunging thrust her pudao shot forward in a piercing strike. The familiar clank sound echoed through the room along with the sound of metal grinding against metal as Gary deflected the blow then dragged his fan down the length of the blade before spinning around behind his attacker.
“Get out of your shop … or get out of your head?” He said it playfully as he pushed his back right up against her own, she could feel his tail wagging right between her legs, brushing along her knees as she glared and jumped forward. Spinning around to face him with the pole arm pointed right at him.
“Both … I’m not some love sick girl for you to play your tricks on!”She brought the spear forward in a long sweeping arc. Again there was a loud clang but this time both fans had deflected the attack. It was a similar scenario as last time, only this time she was putting both arms into the swings as he held the blow back.
Seeing he could not maintain the block for long Gary hopped backwards, rolling away from Tesel before hopping back to his feet and sticking his tongue out as both fans swung out to his sides as he stood up once more. “I assure you there are no tricks to this my dear …”
Tesel growled as she brought the pudao back for another swing, however before she could react he had already lunged forward. “D-damn … fast!” She muttered the words as she brought the spear up to deflect the razor sharp blades aimed right at her. Another chink sound of metal hitting metal was heard
“Like you … I put all my feelings into each swing …” He said the words playfully while holding the razor tipped fan right up against Tesel’s throat. The pudao was still in her hand but he had closed in beyond the reach of the blade and was gripping the pole of the spear with his other hand, his second fan laying on the floor behind him.
“Y-you let me knock the fan from your hand on purpose… you knew I would expect you to block so you feinted and used the opportunity to get into close quarters with me…” She said the words with a bit of shock in her voice while feeling the cold steel against her neck.
“So … would you prefer dinner … or perhaps a movie?” He said the words with a playful growl.
“I’m not a dinner and movie kind of girl …” She said the words casually with a smile, before a sudden yip echoed through the room as Gary feel backwards and landed on his butt in the floor just like last time. She had hooked her foot behind his ankle and tripped him backwards.
“You forgot … I’m a master in all forms of martial arts. That includes unarmed …” She grinned at him with the pudao pointed at his chest as he sat in the floor.
“He he … are you sure I forgot? Oh well … someday I will beat you Tesel … then I will get that date.” He said it with a grin as he picked up his fans and walked towards the door, stopping as he looked back at her staring at him while holding her spear. “You know I’m just a teacher and a dancer, I can’t compete with the mighty Tesel Valentine!”
“Then why do you try?” She asked the question while placing the pudao across her back once more.
“Well … why don’t you ask your sister why she tries to get you to like the holiday and love …” He said it with a smile while wagging his tail to and fro.
Tesel looked back to see a purple rose next to the sword she was working on. “How did you?”
“I’m a fox, we are known for speed not power, of course you didn’t see it … I figured you would appreciate a non-holiday colored one … so I got that one from Nalin.” He grinned broadly at the young weapon smith while wagging his tail. “Well I guess I have cut into enough of your work …”
Tesel picked up the rose then looked back at the kitsune. “Hey … Gary?”
“uh huh?” he looked at her out of the corner of his eye with his back turned to head out.
“You’re a pain in the ass …” She said it while holding the rose and running her fingertip along the thorns lightly. “You didn’t even have it pruned for thorns.”
“It’s better this way, it’s like you.”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s beautiful but it will hurt you if you don’t handle it right!” He said it with a playful grin.
The young smith’s cheeks turned an ever slight pink. Most girls would of found it to be a joke or been insulted but it was pretty accurate in her case. “Pervert …”
“I don’t recall saying anything perverted since Vicky left … oh well I guess I will be going. Make sure to put it in water and trim the stem every few days!” Saying the words cheerfully he headed out the door.
“Wait a sec!” Tesel called out as Gary looked back from the door. “About that date.”
His ears perked up at her words. “Yes?”
“I would be ok with it as long as it’s another sparing match.” She looked up at him while holding the rose.
With a broad grin his tail wagged back and forth quickly. “of course … I can’t think of a more appropriate date to take you on.”
“Good … now get out of my shop!” She said it and as she turned back to her work.
With a chuckle he shook his head. “See you later Tesel … Happy Valentines day!”
She stared at the dark purple rose with a light smile as she picked up the whet stone in front of her and began to sharpen the sword once more. “You too … silly fox …”
She heard a yell from outside her shop. “Did I mention kitsune have really good hearing too!?”
Her blush faded quickly as she gripped the whet stone in her hand and yelled out loudly “Go the hell home!!”

Hey ivvy lol this is a letter to my fave npc vicktoria.
"I would have to say that my absolute favorite npc is Vicktoria! She is my favorite because she is a goodhearted person with only the pure intentions of love. If more people were even as half as concerned for the love on this earth as Vicky was, I believe we would all live in a much better place. Just to let you know that I love you Vicky!!!
I also appreciate all the other npcs too. They help so much in making mene such an enjoyable and fun place.

It seems a little strange but I relate to Evan and Penny, my two favorite NPC's. One I'm a Gemini - I love twins! Two, they run Snack Attack! And I ADORE food! Three! I don't think they get enough action! <3 I can't wait to see they show up more and sell me more snacks! *lol*

I heard people talking about you today.
The things that they said filled my heart with dismay,
I thought, “How can these idiots treat her this way?”
But I held it and listened to what they would say.
They were sitting at dinner when you stumbled in,
I guess you’d been drinking, your breath smelled like gin,
Said “my car’s out of gas ‘bout a half a mile in.”
“Can I siphon your mower and start it again?”
Then you asked, “what’s for dinner?” – they said “go away”
But I guess you were hungry and wanted to stay
So you sat on the table and ate all the butter,
And then burped out a jingle while no word was uttered,
They got up, disgusted, and left you alone
And you asked, “Well can I at least use your phone?”
And picked up a drumstick, but found no dial tone.
A woman your age should be knitting, instead
Far too many young men find their way to your bed
And leave with your panties on top of their head!

Same here I am really loving events. My first one was halloween last year and I was sort of lost because I was new. Christmas was a BLAST!
