Question! out of curiosity, are you judging the avatar contest by yourself, or do you consult fellow staff members, or do you have your RL friends judge it?...

in the past, it's usually the individuals (staff) running the contest who judge. unless it's like a specific "staff favorite" and then that sort would get voted on by any mene staff that wanted to participate. because i am doing this on my own this time (and for the first time ever!) i shall be judging alone

it's pretty much up to the staff running the contest though, it's nice to have the creative freedom

yup! we all get to decide who wants to do what, or who can't help too, way before the event so we can plan all aspects, like arranging the ei's and commons so they all fit the theme too

Sounds...rigorous. It definitely sounds fun to plan, though! I tried with the URE last year but that kind of fell apart. ;_;

I think it was...both? I started the thread in January hoping to drum up some excitement and participation, but as the event got closer I got more stressed about the whole thing and the lack of participation and the lack of consistent thread hosts. I buckled under pressure and handed off the event to poor gizzie, who had to pick up my pieces. ;_;

Buster Bear wanted to be a Menewshan games mascot too but they said, "NO!, you're not native to the islands, now go away!" and walked away laughing to each other. Well, that didn't please Buster Bear at all, I mean, all he wanted was to be included and loved like Tatsu, the Star Eater, and the Bunnyfish. While they were all getting ready for the events in the locker room, Buster Bear was waiting in a locker, which was difficult considering the size of his head. One by one, Buster Bear mauled each of the mascots and shoved the remains into a large sack to be buried at his earliest convenience. "Who's laughing now?!"

oh man. you could always choose to help out on the next one, like do something small at first and keep it in your comfort zone. i found when i first became a staff and all this event prep was happening that i was really overwhelmed but once you get the hang of it, it's not bad

Yeah, I have no idea if she's okay. I think I read a while ago from someone who knows her irl that she's doing okay. Just got super busy or some such.

I'm a lurker, more often than not. I usually only post a lot during events. It's hard to stay consistent in some threads when they aren't very active during event downtime. ;-;
