The Fool
On April Fool's Day I played the funniest joke on Grandpa! I put a plastic spider in his tea! *giggles* Peeblo said I shoulda set his hat on fire, but that would have been mean. --- But Grandpa was so surprised, he jumped right out his socks! Hee hee! Afterwards he told me that a long time ago kings and queens used to have court jesters, and sometimes they were called fools. Their job was to be silly and tell jokes and make people laugh!
That's the coolest thing ever!! I want to do that too! So I asked Aunty Channah if she would make a costume for me. She said, "Heck, I'll make a whole mess of them, cause lord knows Menewsha has enough fools." That was news to me. I didn't know we had jesters.
