Well, I haven't been so active these days either. So much to do before our little one is arriving in january! And I took a long hiatus too not so long ago. I am sad this place has become so quiet though.

Well it started before the all the issues with the server started acting but that definitely made it worse. Not sure if Inso has returned or is working on it...

I read about that...as far as I can tell Inso is still missing.

Ugh, that is really sad. Well I guess a lot of people might just switched to other avatarssites too, not sure.
Well after Ernya shutting down and this one slowly fading away I am kind of done with avatars sites I think :(

Lots of people got busy with real life and there wasn't a big infusion of new blood to back fill the people that did go on hiatus so it was a slow decline.

The server issue did nothing to help counteract the decline. Was really hoping to win the lottery when it was over a billion, had plans to buy Menewsha. It's good to have dreams.

It doesn't help that it seems the join page is borked too so no new members could join...

Yeah, I had similar dreams.

Wonder if enough of us pooled our money together if we could purchase the site from Inso... hmm.

My participation has dropped off quite a bit the past eighteen months to two years. Roachi and I were doing what we could, but eventually the frustrations we felt spilled over and we had to step back.

What brought you back?

Possibly, but then there might be shareholder problems.

I can imagine it would get frustrating, since this has been going on for quite a while from what I gathered.

Well, I'd be thinking about coming back for a while, but could never quite muster up the energy to do so, being really busy in real life and all. It was literally a dream that gave me the final push; I had a dream where I was on Mene, posting, and people had avatars that had gifs bouncing around in their avatars and such. The url for the site had also changed to www.xoot.com or something which was weird, though the domain name remained Menewsha. I woke up and decided to check out and see how the site's doing.

Someone who cares should buy Menewsha.

There's been talk about buying the site for a while, but Inso wasn't selling and no one could find him these days, so it hasn't been possible to do so as far as I've heard.

Mr. Wrong, you know if I had that kind of money I would purchase the sight for sure. There are several of us that do care, however I have no coding experience and finding one that would work for the peanuts I could pay would be difficult to say the least. Or it could be the boost to push me back to school to learn how to code for the site.

Antagonist, that's a rather interesting dream. Can't say that Menewsha has ever invaded my dreams. Some sort of omen it would seem.

I actually have dreams about Menewsha every once in a while, that was just one of my more vivid dreams about the site. The others were more vague, with some stuff about posting, or the items or people would appear somewhere in an unrelated circumstance, etc.

It would seem Inso has pulled a Keyser Söze.

Per our Halloween tradition, the husband and I are watching the Nightmare Before Christmas. Love this movie. Good for two holidays a year.

What did Keyser Soze do?

I guess my dreams are a bit different from other people's.

I haven't seen that movie in over a decade I think, don't remember much about it anymore, aside from a few bits with Jack Skellington and something about Christmas and this villain who's full of bugs.

Keyser Söze is a character from the Usual Suspects and he basically exists as a concept or idea for the bulk of the movie and then he shows up briefly and then disappears. It's actually a really good movie.

Oogie Boogie is the bug guy from Nightmare Before Christmas. Tim Burton did a wonderful job with the movie and the script and feel goodness of the whole movie touches the little kid in me.

Next we're going to watch Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp, it's a Tim Burton kind of night.
