Just got my presents from the christmas lint pile. I had completely forgotten I entered and since it never gives me trade notifications it's been stuck in limbo for 3 weeks now. Still, it's quite pleasing to have some bonus gifts turn up long after the main event is over. My future gifts to other people may take a similar form from now on, just hiding them around the place to be discovered at a later date.
