This is a 1x1 roleplay between Typically Untypical and Kat Dakuu following the plot synopsis listed below.

Mitch, an 18 year old elf, was captured last year after a great war. The humans were not too kind to their prisoner of war, and knowing that elves were a rare breed indeed, they sold their captive for quite a profit. Mitch was not one to simply sit quietly and be submissive though, every step of the way was met with fighting, conflict, and on the elf's end, bruises and lashings. Nothing seemed to phase Mitch though, the more they attempted to squeeze the spirit out of the Elf's body, the more Mitch fought to escape. After several breakout attempts, at long last one shop got smart, chaining the ferocious elf in solitary confinement until the next brave person is willing to buy this determined soul.

About an hour from the coastline and the nearest port city, in the kingdom of Trehblue, is the city of Golshrend, a place where the wealthy could squander their excess cash. Every form of gambling is accessible in Golshrend, from cage fights to slots; every luxury is available, spas, shopping boutiques, and gourmet food; but the crown jewel of Golshrend City is the Gilded Cages "pet" shop. Gilded Cages was 6 stories tall, selling everything from Dogs to Monkeys. Each floor specialized in something different but all of the cages had a gold overlay. Walking through the shop felt like walking through a kingdom of Gold and with each floor the animals became more exotic and rare. The top floor was reserved for the most exclusive and exotic of pets. These were the magical creatures. People would come from all over to purchase a mermaid for their aquarium, or a Neko as a house pet. The store had pixies and fairies, nymphs and sirens. They had it all, including a single elf. This floor was guarded inside and out, both to prevent theft and to prevent escape. One creature from the top floor was worth a middle-class person's annual wages, times three. The price tags were not for the faint of heart and the elf was the most expensive of them all.

It had been 8 years since the human elf conflict that subjugated the remaining pureblood elves. Half-elves and others who shared the elf bloodline were often mistreated but they were not destined for iron like their full elf brethren. This had made living pure elves scarce, as elves did not do well separated from the forest and their freedom. Each year fewer and fewer elves were found in captivity. Some escaped but most died from the treatment, or the mental stress caused by their position. Mitch was a rarity. Mitch was the shining jewel of Gilded Cages and like such was guarded constantly. If not for the amount of money an elf brought in, Mitch probably would have been killed due to the amount of trouble. One more than one occasion during multiple stays, Mitch had slipped past the guards, only to be caught trying to free other creatures. Even when sold Mitch was a handful, two Owner's dead by the hand of this Blue-eyed blond, and one who probably would never come out of the coma he was in. Each time after it would be up to Gilded Cages to track down their property. Their contracts specifically stated that all freedom clauses in wills left by owners were voided, and in the absence of specific mention toward their pet, the e;f was not to be included in dividable assets. They made quite a bit of money off of Mitch because of that.

The owner of Gilded Cages was getting bored of these antics though, the profit was substantial but the loss of good customers also affected them and in consideration of future profit, Mitch's continued existence was not their best interest. The next contract would not include the freedom clause or the will clause. They wanted to cut their losses and if Mitch ended up free, well then, it wouldn't be for long as plenty other shops would be happy to have an elf in stock.

Mitch sat in a golden cage with very thin wires crisscrossing to prevent anything from slipping through. Heavy chains, with a gold overlay, were bolted to the floor, thicker than the wrists they bound. Around Mitch's ankles were also thick chains, forcing the elf into a kneeling and subservient position. There was nothing subservient about those eyes, brilliant blue that somehow still seemed to burn with the fire of anger and determination. Mitch wore tattered clothes that did not seem to fit in with the gilded appearance of everything here, even the fairies had golden dresses they had been forced to wear. One of the guards also had bandages on his hand and a stern angry look in his eye. Mitch had only been back a day so far, and more enemies than friends were made.

The kingdom of Trehblue was built of greedy, greasy, sleezebags. Thaddeus had recently come to this conclusion. He no doubt, had been a founding member of this mentality, but it made bile rise in his throat now, hatred burning all the way down to his perfectly groomed nails. Golshrend served the wealthy well, but not the outcasted. He could taste that bitterness in his mouth as he walked down the perfect streets of gray stone made smooth by the constant travel of horses and caravans. Every day some new novelty made its way into the hands of this city. He could afford almost anything he wanted and then a second for fun. However, today he wished to squander his meaningless cash on a very specific thing.

The Gilded Cages knew a reputation that crossed the seas. As a native of this city though, he knew it better than just the rumors. Once, he bought a Caldonion horse, known for its duel horns of four feet in length. The most savage of wild horses, few would dare to tame one for personal use. He did that though only to have it shot by a rival hunter intent only on the easiest path to the top. That rival won the hunt of the day, but lost every monetary asset to his name the next. Thaddeus smirked there in the middle of the street, not caring who stared. There were many perks to heading the trading guild and generations of old money underneath his feet.

Though a man of only 5'10" tall and a slimmer build, the sharpness of his features and the deadliness to his smirk made him imposing. That and the quality of his clothes adorned in precious stones and silver threads that offset the otherwise black ensemble. Even walking into a luxury store like the Gilded Cages, he drew eyes. Or was that his reputation? Perhaps the heavy hood that hid his pale face and sharp biting mahogany eyes? The cloth tossed over the bottom half of his face blurred much of his identity, but not all of it even if he wore no insignias. He looked like trouble and he knew it.

"Take me to the first floor," Thaddeus ordered the attendant watching the front door. A quick flash of his wallet sent the girl nodding. He left no doubt that he could afford what he wanted.

"Right away!" the girl gasped. With that, she took him to the elevator that looked no less adorned than the rest of the building. As Thaddeus waited for the metal box to rise, he found himself grinning yet again. Indeed, there was one thing here that he could get nowhere else. And he intended to use it to his very best advantage.

Though not gilded the elevator was filled with mirrors making it feel bigger than it actually was. It also allowed people to check their appearances as you merit was partially judged on your looks. As the elevator reached his stop and, Thaddeus would see a young woman, fair complexion, not a single blemish, and curves in all the right spots, waiting for him. They had sent their best to greet and accompany him as he shopped. The staff only accompanied the richest of clientele, assisting them with any issues they might have. Vivian, at least that was the name on her name tag, gave him a small smile. "Welcome sir," If he was hooded he may not want others to know who he was so they respected that, "Is there anything specific I can show you today?" She held a tablet device that held information on every creature in their store, including who else might be looking at it. Thaddeus would be no stranger to this kind of treatment and if he asked her to leave she would respectfully do so, but there was power in the information she held at her fingertips and a type of knowledge you couldn't find just on the cage descriptions.

She stood only about 5'5'' which meant he towered over her a bit, her petite frame did not seem small in comparison to him. "Perhaps a new Caledonian horse, I heard that quiet the vile fate befell your last one." She looked directly at him but her fingers were running across the screen expertly, she was pulling up his purchase history in the event that he wanted to find a companion for one of his previous purchases, though she had the thought that he might be here to buy their most violent piece of merchandise. If anyone could tame a wild elf it would be Thaddeus. "Though I assume you are here for something a bit more," she hesitated, thinking of the right word, "interesting." The lower level workers were paid on commission but the assistants were paid completely based on an evaluation of their helpfulness. Her job would be to see to it that he was completely happy with his time here in their shop. This was also not the first time Vivian had helped him.

Mitch shifted uncomfortably in the chains, the shackles were not the worst part, a metal collar, steel most likely, was sending shocks into Mitch's body to encourage "obedience". The collar also discouraged any talking or much movement of the neck for that matter. It wouldn't be fitting if the merchandise were to spit at a client or curse them out.

Stepping out of the elevator, Thaddeus tried to contain his desire to rush, knowing that what he wanted was not far away. He managed to retail his calm air though, nodding once in acknowledgement to the woman whose name tag bore the name, Vivian. He expected as much based on his previous visit and the intimate knowledge he had of all the resplendent ongoings of this city. People of his class couldn't help but know such things.

Thaddeus grit his teeth at the mention of his previous purchase which was by far the most elite of the things he'd bought at the Gilded Cages. It was no secret what had befallen the creature, it seemed. "Indeed," he hissed through his teeth. A deep breath later and he pulled away the cloth this hid most of his face. He flashed a smile. "I have no interest in simple trinkets. My money is meaningless without my good name to back it up anymore. The store's most famous piece of merchandise has returned recently has it not? Show me the elf."

A man like Thaddeus did not wait well with patience. Right to the chase, he smiled again. This woman, Vivian, might try to offer him pixies or mercreature full of gold and splendor, but she also knew better than that. Was she a familiar face? He squinted his eyes, but brushed the thought away a second later. It didn't matter and he had no time for niceties either. While he may once have been the sort of man to buy Caldonian horses for trivial hunting pursuits, then dinners fit for kings afterwards, he planned to use all of his wealth in one go with far more meaning. "I assure you that my recent scandal has not affect my wallet to any degree."

Vivian looked down at her tablet at that point and pulled up the elf's information. "Of course." She was responding both to him asking her to take him to the elf and to the comment about his scandal. "It's not typical for us to involve ourselves in the gossip of our clientele, so whatever scandal may be happening outside of these walls is not at all considered. " Her eyes seemed to light up as she looked over the info on the elf. "There was someone previously looking at the elf but I have dispatched him that you can view in private. It seems we have a new policy considering that piece of merchandise, the contract is much less extensive. Would you like me to forward it to your lawyers so they can review it while you are looking? She began walking him towards the cage.

The other man who had been looking at Mitch was ushered away by one of the guards and while their attention was divided Mitch tested the strength of the chains. Most of the creatures on this floor were kept in their cages through sheer fear alone, very few required extra chains. It seemed, however, that Gilded cages had learned from Mitch's last escape attempt. These chains were strong as if built specifically for this reason. It didn't help that Mitch also felt weaker than normal, it had been a few days since anything resembling food had been given to the elf.

Vivian rounded the corner and there it was, Mitch's cage. "If simply looking at the cage is not to your liking I'm sure I could arrange something so that you can have a more thorough inspection of the product. It is a bit trickier with such a violent specimen, but I am aware that you possess quite the track record for taming wild beasts." She put her arm and the tablet down by her side. She enjoyed looking at the elf. Vivian had worked here for about 5 years, by that point Mitch had already become a regular in their shop, though they didn't even know the elf's name. Simply designating it as 'the elf'. Mitch wasn't the only elf they had had over the years, though she had heard the last one they had committed suicide by jumping off of her master's mansion. Such a sad sight to, the body couldn't even be preserved at that point because of how damaged it was. It was such a loss since the elves were very beautiful, male or female.

Pulling the tablet back up she showed it to Thaddeus in the event he wanted to look at it. Mostly the information they had about Mitch was previous owners and the circumstances with which the elf had come back into their possession. The synopsis also talked about how elves had a strictly vegetarian diet and the consumption of meat would make them violently ill. When it came to the personal history the Gilded Cages system was uncharacteristically lacking.

Thaddeus nodded his head once, a simple response as Vivian's question did not warrant a real answer. "Yes, of course." It wasn't like he would decide against buying the elf no matter what special conditions were or were not attached. The price, none of it mattered in the face of his determination. As Vivian led them around the corner, Thaddeus finally let the smile he'd been flashing stay on his face. Without a doubt, he was pleased. Just like every bit of gossip said, the elf was a violent beauty. No one wanted him. Even if they did, he did not for long because of the unbreakable spirit that other pushed others way and killed them. It was everything that Thaddeus had hoped for.

Taking the tablet from Vivian, he hummed slightly to show his contentment. "Oh no, viewing like this is just fine. I can see his..." Thaddeus spent a second searching for the right word. "Fearsomeness. Adorned in chains like this, he exceeds my wildest expectations. Can you imagine what he would look like without chains?" Letting out a faint laugh, as if at a joke only he knew, he looked the elf in the face. The tablet offered him very little information about the creature itself, just his reputation. That was mostly why he intended to buy the elf in the first place. He had been told he didn't follow the norm well enough. He should buy a proper 'subhuman' pet like the nekos and inus that most of his peers liked to keep. Was this not following that request perfectly? A pet. He wanted to laugh again at the thought of trailing a deadly creature like this behind him into a business meeting like the others did with their little cat fluffs because this was without a doubt not what they wanted of him.

"I suppose you are probably happy to have such a creature off of your hands at this point. His reputation has grown too much. Would he end up tossed in a dungeon for only the most desperate soul or just forgotten entirely?" Thaddeus tilted his head. Although he appeared to be speaking to Vivian, his eyes were still on the elf. "But enough of that. Let us talk price."

Vivian sent the contract to his lawyers before giving him the tablet. She looked at the elf, mesmerized by the blue eyes that held such fury. While looking at Thaddeus it seemed that Mitch's eyes grew even angrier. This man was giddy to see a being in chains, it pissed Mitch off and a snarl formed of its own accord. "No, I can't really imagine seeing something so fierce roam free," Vivian said quietly as she looked at the elf. This was not the type of creature you wanted to let roam. "Ah yes, the price."

Gently taking the tablet back she scrolled to the section on pricing. Male elves were typically much less expensive than there female counterparts as Males were not as emotionally abused as females were. Humans could be cruel, even to the females of their own species. The price for Mitch sat at a comfortable 13 Million, about 2 million less than the average price for a male but with Mitch's reputation, it was no wonder. They really seemed to just want rid of such an unlucky creature. "Its reputation has become a bit troublesome." She showed him the lowered sum, however, there is still a profit to be made. Though occasionally one could negotiate on the pricing terms, especially for something so rare, part of Mitch's contract had a no bargaining clause. The price was plenty low enough as it was though. "It seems if the elf is not out of here within the month it is slated for execution. A shame really, there are so few left I would rather see them send it to a preserve to procreate, but you can never be sure with something so violent."

She gave one last look to Mitch. "They are gorgeous, aren't they?"

Thaddeus hummed as he looked at the price, happy despite not caring about the money in this case. Most men would get lightheaded just seeing the number attached to something whose only use was as a pet. But those men looked at the world with shallow eyes. He alone had vision. Vision and money. "I am in agreement with the price as well as the changes in his contract." He followed Vivian's gaze to once again stare at the elf. Gorgeous? Such a simple word could not even begin to describe what he saw in front of his eyes. It wasn't even just the brilliant color of his eyes or golden hair, nor was it the way he looked in a cage. There was a spirit in this creature's eyes that no other in this room had. That was what he wanted.

Tearing his eyes away, Thaddeus turned his attention back to Vivian. "I think this elf might surprise you if someone gives it the chance. I have no intentions of doing anything so crude as other master's seem to have in mind when seeing defiant eyes," he added. Of course he had no intentions of sharing with this attendant any true goals, but it must look obvious now that he didn't come shopping for a simple slave. He did say he thought this elf would look beautiful out of chains after all.

"Can you ask to have him made ready for travel while we go over the paperwork?" he asked, the impatience coloring his voice again. He wanted to hurry and bring this elf home.

What did he mean by 'not doing anything so crude as other masters seem to have in mind when seeing defiant eyes' neither Mitch nor Vivian knew but Vivian feared it meant that Thaddeus would be the next victim in Mitch's repertoire. Whatever he meant the excitement was obvious on his face and Vivian nodded. "Let us go finalize the paperwork while he is gotten ready for you." She looked at the guards and nodded to them, they would begin preparations as soon as the two of them were out of eyesight.

Vivian would take him to an office where he would talk with one of the lawyers who would walk him through the rest of the rest of the transaction. By the time they were done the guards would be bringing Mitch in. Anger did not begin to describe the look in the elf's eyes, hair tossed in every which way and direction. Mitch was still fighting against the guards but it was obvious that what little strength Mitch had was spent on the initial fight. Talking was also still out of the question with the collar still electrocuting Mitch.

"Alright sir, your merchandise awaits you." The lawyer said packing away all of the papers and documents. Thaddeus was no the proud owner of an elf.

The paperwork felt excruciating. Despite the power of technology at their hands, Thaddeus knew best the tiresomeness of bureaucracy. Whether working with the trade laws of various kingdoms or buying a pet, it all amount to this--sitting in a chair and signing endlessly. They finished it finally and none too soon. With just a single electronic signature left, a guard opened the office door. Looking like a hell spirit, the elf caused Thaddeus' hand to still for a second before he submitted the form. "Thank you. Please let your superiors know how pleased I am," he added with a slight nod to Vivian.

With that, he pushed back his chair and stood to look at the elf eye to eye. Without a doubt, he had bought something dangerous. He might as well bring a wild tiger into his home and yet he could only smile. Not a sick or wicked sort of smile, but one of actual happiness. He wiped it from his face a second later. The elf was still bound in chains and wearing the collar--no doubt the only way he could be controlled. Thaddeus took the other end of chain from the guards, holding it firmly. "I think I have it from here. Now, shall we go home, my new elf friend?"

Mitch was forced down, kneeling in front of Thaddeus but that did not calm the fire inside. Mitch waited until Thaddeus was close enough and then, with as much power as possible, headbutted Thaddeus in the gut. Normally Mitch would play docile for a little bit to heal and recover, but it infuriated the elf to hear this man speak of friendship. Humans were not a friend of the elven people, they had made that clear with their discrimination and hatred. Mitch would not stand by and listen to that kind of lying. What was worse was this man's smile, it did not harbor the normal twisted wickedness that most masters held. Instead, he seemed truly happy, an innocent happiness, a happiness that Mitch had seen before. That type of smile did not belong to a man who would treat another as property.

The guards grabbed Mitch again as someone helped Thaddeus. No one wanted to tell him that they had specifically told him Mitch would be violent. Instead, they waited with bated breath to see how Thaddeus would react.

Thaddeus staggered back from the attack, more from the blow to his gut than any real surprise. With the help of one of the guards, he righted himself quickly, anger flashing in his eyes as one hand twisted, ready to strike. After a second, he breathed and relaxed his hand, simply watching the guards as they subdued the elf. That momentary glee had vanished from his eyes though and now Thaddeus looked down with an unreadable, but clearly not positive expression. "We'll have to do something about that later, I think," he muttered under his breath. Making a show of clenching the chain in his hand, Thaddeus pulled the elf toward the door. "But enough of that. Thank you again for the opportunity to do business. Have a good day." With one last nod, he exited the office. Though it seemed that they waited for some kind of reaction from him, Thaddeus had no intention of giving one. For this point on, he could handle his elf himself.

Thaddeus would have to drag Mitch out, though it would not be a difficult task. From the headbutt earlier that merely knocked Thaddeus back instead of winding him or knocking him on his butt, it was obvious that Mitch had little strength left to fight. That was probably the single most frustrating thing for Mitch. Captivity had meant a slow but steady decline in the strength it had taken a decade to build up. The power that Mitch had fought so hard to gain in order to protect the things war had tried to take away, was almost gone. Of course, that didn't mean that didn't mean that Mitch was going to give up so easily, but the seed of doubt was beginning to form.

Everyone in the office watched with a mix of Horror and Awe as Thaddeus began to drag the struggling elf out of the room. He was so calm and collected about it but a chill had formed in the air. As soon as Thaddeus was gone they began to make bets as to what would be on the news first, Thaddeus for dying at the hands of an elf, or Thaddeus destroying one of the last captive elves. They knew the two would not last long together.

Although the elf continued to struggle, Thaddeus had a firm grip on the chain and a determination that outmatched the elf's limited strength. As they left the office, he quickened his steps, wanting to get to his home where he could really interact with the elf properly. He couldn't do anything here where doors didn't lock and eyes pried like a million greedy hands at market for a single slip. They might get their gossip in due time too, but for that, they would have to wait.

Thaddeus chuckled to himself as he stopped just outside the Gilded Cage's entrance. A sleek carriage waited, manned by a very tall man with dark hair oiled down like a raven's wing. Although his clothes looked elegant as anyone would expect from Thaddeus' associates, he looked more rugged. "Get in," Thaddeus demanded, pushing the elf toward the carriage door. Although he didn't use violence, his grip made it clear that he was not to be denied.

As they got closer to the carriage Mitch struggled less, not for a lack of determination but rather a knowledge that struggling would do very little at this point. It was like trying to swim against a rip tide. The best thing to do was ride it out until there was a safe spot to escape from. Mitch would wait this out. Even still it was infuriating to once again have people gawking at the expensive trophy they all believed Mitch to be. Elves weren't trophies, they were living thinking being and they did not deserve this. Mitch looked around and saw a half-elf waitress being sexually assaulted by the man she was serving and Mitch jerked at the chain again, a little more strength in it this time. Half-elves were treated like shit and even Mitch knew that. If they didn't have their papers proving they were half-elf they could also end up in slavery. Mitch hated seeing anyone treated like that, but who was going to step in on behalf of a half-elf. People thought they were dirty. Mitch pulled again but was pushed towards the carriage.

Having been focused elsewhere Mitch was thrown off balance and stumbled into the carriage, face first with a groan. The collar sent waves of electricity shooting through Mitch's body and a hiss escaped previously closed lips. Humans really were monsters. Looking up at Thaddeus Mitch shot him a glare. This was not the end of it for him.

Thaddeus frowned slightly, not wish to pull and push the elf around, but he saw no other real choice at this point. He would lose what control he did have if he did anything different now. Climbing into the carriage and sitting on the opposite seat, he signaled for the driver to head home. The carriage jerked, wheels turning against the smooth stone of the street before they were off, Thaddeus pulling the carriage curtains mostly closed for the sake of both their privacy.

He eyed the elf for a second. "I assume you speak?" he said after a second. He hadn't heard it. What sort of sound came from the throat of a creature like this. "You didn't have a name listed on your profile, so I find myself curious. My use for you is slight if we can't come to some kind of understanding." His eyes sharpened, showing just how serious he was. He made no threatening gestures though. In fact, his body postures looked perfectly at home in the carriage with a savage elf across from him.

This was not the first time a human man had threatened Mitch. It would not be the last. Of course, that did not stop the elf from being defiant. Mitch was also smart though and thus was willing to listen to what to say, but speaking wasn't really an option. The collar still around Mitch's neck made that to painful to push through, at least for an extended conversation. "Mitch," that was enough of an answer for him wasn't it, but Mitch's voice came out strained and broken. This was not the sound of a being associated with elegance, instead, it was reminiscent of someone who screamed until they could scream no more. Mitch kept a neutral expression about the issue, showing none of the pain that existed in a single word. If his only use was for an obedient slave than he should have bought one of the broken ones. Mitch had no desire to play obedient, though maybe this could be used. There were goals Mitch had in mind and freedom was only an ends to a means.

While thinking about this the carriage lurched and Mitch drained of color. Carriages were always hard for an elf, the human contraptions were unnatural in the way that they moved. Puking with this collar on would be exceedingly unpleasant so Mitch sat back in an attempt to ignore the feeling.

Mitch. Thaddeus rolled the name around in his mind. It was not the elegance he expected, but it excited him, this unexpectedness. He hadn't expected a conversation now either, so he felt pleased just to get an answer. It meant there at least was some hope that the elf, Mitch, might cooperate with him. And should it be necessary to get that, Thaddeus would cooperate with Mitch as well. Just from those defiant eyes, Thaddeus knew the elf must want many things of his own, no doubt full of revenge and freedom. How would that play out? Who all would fall victim? Thaddeus was thrilled to guess.

The journey took some time, but once they got out of the city and onto the smoother dirt roads, the carriage ride seemed to take less time. To Thaddeus, the journey was nothing and yet filled with impatience and anxiousness. He didn't attempt further conversation, deeming it pointless so when he spoke again as the carriage slowed, it was from a complete silence. "We've arrived. Will you come inside without having to be dragged?" He pushed back the curtain, revealing a spacious lawn overgrown and more brown than green, and a manor behind it that appeared far better cared for. He didn't expect a verbal answer from Mitch, but as he turned to face the elf, he figured he would receive some answer one way or another from an attempt to bolt, a nod, or a foot to the ribs. They all would answer him well enough.

Was that enough for him? It seemed so as Mitch was left in the silence to contemplate the world. The carriage rocked and swayed, agitating Mitch further; slender fingers yanked on the suffocating collar only to get a healthy zap. After a while, Mitch would once again get used to the electricity flowing through the collar that made it hard to talk, but how much longer would it take? Years had already gone by and even free elves weren't known to live long, being hunted for sport. For just a little while the fire in Mitch's eyes died down, showing fear, worry and concern for an unnamed object. Of course, there were things the elf desired, and it ignited the fire once again. Weakness had no place on a quest like this.

When they stopped Mitch was exceedingly thankful because even focusing on anger and drive was not enough to keep an elf from getting a bit motion sick in a carriage. When Thaddeus got out Mitch held up a finger and tried to get up. The whole ride had been spent on the floor since Mitch had had no desire to try to stand in a moving carriage. That may or may not have made the ride worse, the sight of such a sad lawn did make the feeling in the pit of Mitch's stomach worse. How could beings who shared no harmony with the earth have defeated the elves in their own forest? Mitch stepped onto the grass and a few blades of grass sprung to life.

Thaddeus eyed Mitch carefully as he led the way out of the carriage. It seemed that the elf didn't desire to bolt immediately. Though perhaps that had more to do with the inability to do so. The elf did not look well and far too little information was known about elves and this one in particular for him to guess why. That though, was a mystery for later. His steps slow and deliberate, he made his way to a small stone path that might once have been great, but now saw better years. The lawn was one of few things that showed how fate treated him in recent years. Once upon a time, everything about his lavish home with nothing but. Now, the power started to dwindle. Still, he held enough to regain it and more if he played his cards right.

Following the path to the front door, he nudged Mitch inside and then down a flight of stairs to the rooms he had prepared. Although the floor could have been a dungeon at one point with the amount of security, all signs of cells had been removed long ago. Instead, a bedroom took up most of the area with a bath set to the side and a small shelf lined in books of no real significance. It was...rather odd in all.

Thaddeus shut the door behind them. "Now, I think we may be able to talk."

Mitch followed obediently, if only because of a lack of strength, and maybe a hint of curiosity. Thaddeus' steps were easy to follow, slow, and with purpose, this was a man who was used to power and position. This was also a very human way of walking. The culture and customs of humans were still strange to Mitch at times, but some things had become apparent quite quickly. Humans were selfish and self-motivated, at least the ones Mitch had met. They cared nothing or very little for their fellow man and it was easy for them to overlook important details if they thought they were right. This may have been an unfair assessment as Mitch only got the chance to see soldier's and masters, but it was what had shaped such a mindset.

It was even more curious to Mitch that Thaddeus would be squandering his money on a "pet" when his house seemed to be in need of much love. The place looked almost run down, more than anything it felt cold, not physically so, but emotionally. Mitch was nudged down a flight of stairs, growling slightly but heading down none the less. Getting down their first gave Mitch the chance to look at the book covers. Knowledge had been important to Mitch when the elven forests still stood, but book smarts did not help you survive in a hostile environment like slavery.

The door clicked shut and Mitch spun around, seeing the two of them now locked in a room together. Thaddeus' wanted to talk but Mitch couldn't help but smirk. Had he not realized it? Mitch pointed to the collar and then made a slicing motion right above it. There would be no conversations while the collar was on, and Mitch could not take it off. Much like the was English speaking Americans stole their grammar from other languages, most humans stole their magic from other cultures. The magic used in Mitch's collars was vampiric in origin, the collar could only be removed by the current owner of the slave.

Thaddeus smiled faintly at the elf, Mitch. It seemed he was impatient to get the collar off. Thaddeus knew it limited the elf's ability to speak, but he had left it on until the door locked because it also offered control. However, in locked quarters, he needed that no longer. "Of course," he murmured. Stepping forward, he eyed the elf for a second, then decided that he would do nothing violent. In a swift motion, Thaddeus unlocked and pulled away the collar. This he tossed into a small bin that might have been designed for trash. "Now that that is out of the way, we can be honest with each other. I have no interest in rubbish tools like collars, but you have quite a history. It's always safest to test limits inside a locked room." Musing to himself, he stepped back again in order to give Mitch ample room.

"I've readied this room for you. If possible, I would like for this not to remain your dungeon however." Already, the room looked tasteful enough to almost forget it was once part of a dungeon. Thaddeus had been careful to adorn it only in things that couldn't be turned into weapons. Short of the bed sheets which he deemed necessary, he opted out of anything breakable or sharp. The books were the only real luxury and a taste of more that could come.

"Histories are written by the victor?" Mitch coughed out and there was a bit more elegance in those words than before. Without the collar, Mitch could finally start to relax a little, well in some sense of the word. There was only so much anyone could relax when those who wanted to oppress them stood near. Mitch was calculative though and, in what could only be described as a power play, turned from Thaddeus, facing the bookshelf that was sparsely adorned. Running thin fingers along the spine it seemed as if the elf was thinking about this place and what captivity would once again mean. This left the two in silence for a few minutes until Mitch spoke again, this time it sounded much different, gentle, fluid, intoxicating, "You spoke of your own desires, and I have mine as well, despite what you think Freedom is not at the top of my list." Mitch turned. "So what is it that you want from me?"

The two had not been down here very long and the collar had been off less than that. Yet it had sparked a change in the elf that was undeniable. Every movement now had a fluidity to it that was reminiscent of dancing, every word was concise and carefully chosen. Head held high, shoulders back, Mitch stood as a testament to elf-kind. It was a beautiful sight, marred only by the rigid expression of a broken and angry soul. The elf that had once been as soft and as gentle as a summer breeze was no longer there.

Thaddeus watched the elf, not trying to force his attention even as Mitch turned his back. Indeed, histories were written by the victors and he could not be sure of what bias and what truths really happened in Mitch's life or why previous owners met their demise at his hands. However, he wasn't sure he would ever get the full truths of those. He would just have to make his own history here and now. Thaddeus got so lost in his pondering that Mitch's voice left him snapping back to attention, sensing sharpening to take in all the changes now apparent. This elf...he had become even more alluring than in the first second their eyes met.

"What I want?" A small smile curved across his lips. Sly and just a little cruel, it was the sort of smile that made his dark eyes look even harder than their usual sharp appearance. "What I want is to ruin and humiliate the ones who have tried to destroy me. They are so fond of pets and luxury and all the things our petty society is built on. I wish to burn that to the ground." If it was something material that his enemies found dear, he wanted to make it obsolete. He would become a rebel soldier for pet's rights if it would destroy another man. Indeed, he did none of this for unselfish reasons.

Eying Mitch for another second, he stepped closer, still remaining careful though the elven main appeared more calm without the collar on. Thaddeus would still take no chances. Once standing in front of Mitch, he made sure the could have their conversation eye to eye. "If you will be my instrument in this justice, I will help you meet your desires. If freedom is not your first, then what? What is it that you desire most?"
