Smango, I'm really excited too! I get to visit home and make a jack-o-lantern (haven't done this in years!). You have any fun crafts planned for the holiday?? :3

I've been working on my Halloween costume and ordering things for it for months now. I do this every year because well, you can't wear the same costume to work that you wore the prior year.
My husband thinks I'm a little nuts as to how excited I get about it, but he puts up with me regardless.

I love Halloween too! It's my favorite holiday - (see the favorite holiday thread). And I agree with smango. You are never too old for Halloween fun! In our town, as I described in the favorite holiday thread, many adults dress up too, to go with their kids trick-or-treating. A few just go trick-or-treating without any kids in tow. LOL! Ours is just a tiny unincorporated community. People just do what they want, basically, and apparently a lot of them enjoy Halloween.

I make our costumes every year for Halloween. I love it! I haven't decided on a theme for it yet...but we tend to do a family theme. Last year was pokemon, the year before we did plants vs zombies, before that was a zelda and the 4 swords theme. I feel like I'm missing something from the list...but in any case. Halloween rocks!

Gosh, Melody - I love your costume themes! I am going to have to remember the Plants vs. Zombies ones. A couple I know dress up very elaborately each year. They might like to try that one. Their costumes, that I remember were Jack Sparrow (SPOT on!) and a Pirate Wench, The Mad Hatter and Alice (Tim Burton style and again, spot on!) and then the next year they reworked the same costumes to be Zombies in Wonderland. They were horrifying and sooooo terrific. When the guy was Jack Sparrow that year, after making the rounds 'trick or treating' at friends and relatives, he hung out at various corner stores in town, doing a whole act. Swaying around the drink cases, shouting at the cashier, "Where's ye rum, matey?!" and asking customers nearby if they drank all the rum, etc. It was hilarious!

My costumes these days tend to just pretty generic, but I like them. One year I was the "Queen of Cards". I made myself a crown out of playing cards, as well as a big collar from them. I wore a black shirt and a long red skirt, and black lace up keds. I know I had jewelry too, but right now can't recall what it was. Now I am more into sort of an old fashioned black and orange look.

We take Halloween pretty seriously around here!

I'm considering Doctor Who for this year, but I'd have to get the kids on board with the idea. I want to make Dalek dresses for the girls so bad though!

WOW! Your kids sure do have fun parents! I can certainly tell that y'all are way into Halloween! Great costumes and I love it when people get a group theme going. Good luck with the Dr. Who theme for this year. :)
