okay... so i think this is victorian, so i'm going to get started on it. xD

and you can do architecture and poetry too. its doesnt have to be a painting of queen victoria. just sayin. you can get crazy creative with this category. even victorian fashion works... the large bustles with the fancy hair. and oh those layers.

Shadami you won't find much explicitly victorian art history because Art History focuses on france around that time. Check out post impressionism through van gogh to see the European versions

I may not do the Victorian one

I was hoping it would be in my college text book because i remember covering victorian and edwardian art but i can't for the life of me find my notes or anything. xD

no no, its perfect. i love all the creative interpretations. that is the point of it representing Victorian art, the definition of art is so highly variable.

I honestly am not sure if the art I am looking at is for sure victorian. But I suppose it's okay to pick one and just try it out?

absolutely! just find something you like that looks like its from that era ish. im sure it will be close enough. and if you wanted to, you could do things like poetry, or those fashion plates. they are a great source of inspiration for me!

you can really go so many places with this challenge. its all about your creative juices and how they get stirred by this era. I am only posting these because i feel like people might need some help finding some ground to start with. by no means do you HAVE to do these at all. you can do so much. im just trying to get you guys inspired by this era

Not really sure how to make an avi based on a house. That art looks significantly different than the "victorian art" that shows up when I search for it. I may just pass on this one since it seems the search isn't producing that is needed for the contest. I found some I like, but the art is far more advanced than your example.

Noo, Pastry! lol That was one I was going to try, too. I had a feeling as soon as I saw you do the hair and laurel. I was going to mix those two for the look as well. xP

You did great, though! But that you chose one I was looking at too, makes me think the ones I have may be acceptable too. I have no idea what is considered victorian art. I am terrible with history, especially in relation to art.

i just did a google search for victorian art and am gonna pick one and go with it. I don't think it has to be too specific.

Yeah, that's all I did. But they look very different than the example BSW showed. The art is far more advanced in the images that are showing up, compared to the image she shared. But I suppose that if the image I choose does not count, then she'll tell me and I can choose another.
