"Yes, but Mel's probably starving.. considering I'm hungry, that means she's probably dying..." She smiled softly tilting her head. "I'm sure either way Duh-... Uncle will introduce us so we might as well be the first ones in there and see if we can get you something to nibble on so you don't look like a complete monster when the food appears..."

"If I can find Dobby, he could probably bring you out something while we're waiting. We can head over now to beat the crowd... we'll just have to let Ron and Hermione know that we'll meet them there."

"I'm not doing it.. what if they're making out...?"

"This is Hermione we're talking about... and she has a book.. they're more then likely studying."

"So you can go and tell them."

He paused and cleared his throat. "Uh, maybe it's best not to disturb them.. I'm sure they'll figure it out.. I mean it is Hermione..."

"Mmm I am very hungry~" She giggled and placed her hands behind her back. "I won't want to get introduced in front of everyone...I'm shy enough as it is." She crossed her arms and stared off to the side. "But...getting it over with quickly will be better..." She mumbled and shifted.

"I don't think they'll be doing such a thing but it's more dangerous to interrupt them when they're studying. Who knows what could happen."

"Does this mean we have to go get embarrassed now...?"

"Well technically not right now.. they're still in classes.. but heading to the great hall now will avoid everyone coming to the common room and dropping their things off before heading to dinner...."

She smiled softly. "I'm sure it'll just be a side announcement telling people to welcome us and play nice.. you know.. don't throw curses at us... blah blah blah..." She smiled and stood up tossing the pillow to the chair she got it from and straightened out her sweater vest and robes, toying with one of the pieces of hair that hung over her shoulder. "Come along dear, you need to get some food in you before you pass out due to starvation.." She smirked and poked her side playfully. granted if she didn't need to change as much here, she might not actually need to eat as often as she would when they were in danger, though seeing as this was Hogwarts, there was bound to be trouble lurking around the nearest corner. she shook her head. "I doubt we'll have much luck here like we did in the last place.."S he mumbled, being purposely vague as to what she meant, at the very least Mel and Lilly would pick up on it. She looked down to the feline. "Care to escort us?" She cooed. "We been a string body guard.. I doubt these guys would be up for it..."

He rolled his eyes. "and you think that cat can defend you better then we could...?"

"Yes.. yes I do.." she deadpanned before flashing a grin and making her way to the portrait.

"As long as we won't be run over in the hallways. I don't need to lose anymore height.." Mel huffed. "I'm short enough as it is.." She stretched a bit and smiled. "At least I get to eat and hide behind a big pile of food." She then placed her hands behind her back and nodded. "I don't think I'd pass out...maybe get cranky." Mel tilted her head up for a moment listening to the girls before she sighed. "Well..maybe I'd pass out."

Lilly's ears perked as she licked her paw for a moment before she jumped up onto Mel's shoulder and nodded. She was hungry too and was looking forward to dinner.

"Lilly's very protective." Mel smiled.

"I'll go risk telling the two lovebirds upstairs."

"And I won't!" Fred chuckled. "Why don't we just head off now." As the group made their way towards the dining hall they could hear people start to exit rooms and head back to the common room. Fred opened the door. "Ladies first." He smiled before closing it behind them. "Welcome to the dining hall."

Mel blinked watching the ceiling. "Oh wow...how cool is that."

He laughed softly. "You act as if you've never seen magic before..." He smiled softly to himself, she reminded him a lot of himself in his first year. he made his way towards their usual spot at the Gryffindor table and sat down. "Don't worry, it is pretty amazing.." He smiled. "they probably didn't have anything like this at your old school huh?"

"Uh, no, they didn't.. She trailed off staring at the ceiling, absentmindedly sitting quietly as she watched the floating candles and the clouds slowly turning multicolored form the setting sun. She grinned softly and pulled her attention away from ceiling and sat properly in the seat, crossing her legs as she looked to Mel and smiled. "Though I guess it'll probably be an early night for us depending on how much food wakes us up..." They had been getting ready for bed when they drifted, well she was technically already asleep, but that wasn't the point now. She smiled softly and scratched the back of her head. "Time zones and stuff..."

"But aren't the America's behind us?"

She coughed slightly. "We were, uh, visiting in Russia for a bit.. we had never been there so we wanted to see what it was like..." She cleared her throat and laughed meekly. "It was cold and barren.. not going there again..." Russia was big enough where there was enough timezones they could fake having been there before.. right?

He nodded laughing softly. "I can imagine."

She nodded and looked away, examining the great hall once again. One thing was for sure, he was no Hermione.

"I guess no matter how many times you see it it's still kinda cool." Mel blinked watching the ceiling for a bit more. "So pretty..." She placed her chin on her hand before she looked back at the people around her.

"What on earth where you visiting Russia for? Isn't that really cold this time of year?" He raised his eyebrow. "Well at least you said you aren't going back there. I can't imagine it being interesting."

"We have strange sleep hours anyway.." Mel rubbed her cheek and smiled. She placed her hands in her lap and shifted a bit looking over towards the door hearing a bunch of voices. The door then opened having the young witches and wizards pile in. "Well...this room filled up fast.." She sunk a bit lower in her seat getting nervous.

She smiled softly moving her foot under the table rubbing Mel's shin, at least she hoped it was Mel's shin. "Don't worry, I'll give them three days max of the awkward staring.... unless you do something stupid.. them more like a month..."

He laughed softly. "Does she do those things often?"

"At least once a day.."

"Then give it two months..."

He made his way in from the back door of the hall where the teachers sat and nodded to the girls smiling softly. He made his way over chuckling softly. "I hope your things are satisfactory...." He smiled setting a hand on D's shoulder and turned to Harry and Fred. "These two aren't too much trouble are they...?"

"Not at all sir, well at least not yet..." He grinned. "They are hanging out with me, and you know how trouble likes to find me..."

He laughed softly and nodded. "Hopefully these two can be good luck charms and keep you out of trouble.

She coughed softly and looked off to the side interested in the ceiling again. They had enough trouble keeping themselves out of trouble and they were expected to keep him out of trouble.. fat chance at that.

He smiled. "As expected, most of the school already knows you two are here, though the details are a bit fuzzy, I'm sure you can clear them up when they come up, but for now, try to not let it get to you.. it's not often they have new faces come in.. usually just once a year, not twice..."

She nodded. "Of course... Uncle..."

Mel blinked glancing down at the table when he shin was touched. "I'll do my best not to do anything stupid.." As long as no one decides to try and kill me. Which wouldn't be a problem as long as nothing bad happened. So far no evil right? Right! She then pointed at Harry. "You aren't allowed to tease me yet. Not until we get closer." She huffed before frowning at D. "And you should know better missy!"

"They seem normal so far." Fred shrugged. "But who knows how fast that can change around here. It might be easier for us to keep them out of trouble not the other way around."

"I'm sure we can handle things. Hopefully..." She ran her fingers through her hair as the tables filled up completely. At least the other students in Gryffindor weren't as rude.

He chuckled softly and nodded, making his way back up to the front of the dining hall, waiting quietly for stragglers to file in.

She made her way through the row and took her seat, a bit flushed.

"Get caught..?" She cooed softly.

She blushed and looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"That's a yes.." She smiled and looked towards Dumbledore, waiting for the inevitable.

Once everyone was seated he stood in front of the podium, clearing his throat to get everyone's attention. "As you have all heard, we have two new students. My nieces from America will be staying with us until farther notice, please treat them kindly as you would any other guest we would have here."

Her back stiffened slightly as she forced a smile, looking towards the front avoiding every other onlooker, though it was hard to avoid the gaze of those in front of her, she swallowed hard but still said nothing, before looking to Dumbledore with a slight pleading look in her eye to get the attention off them.

He chuckled and waved his hand. "Now that that's cleared up, you may have your dinner." He made his way to his seat, though it didn't stop people from staring at the girls, eventually everyone turned to their meals, slowly but surely the hall was filled with chatter.

"Sorry we're late. I had to practically pull them off of each other."

"Oh shut up George!" Ron sat down next to Hermione a bit flushed as well.

"And during school hours. Shame on you two." He wagged his finger and shook his head.

Mel shifted a bit. "This is my least favorite part." She mumbled staring down at the table. "This only makes us stick out more.." She placed her chin in her hand. At least the other students just seemed curious. Her eyes wandered around the tables looking at the different houses. When the food appeared she blinked and then smiled a bit. "But this is my favorite part."

"At least you didn't have to stand up at the front and get introduced."

"That would have been very embarrassing. Don't you think? Then everyone could stare at the two of you."

"Talk about feeling awkward then."

"You think we should tell them who to avoid?"

"Wouldn't that just be Slytherin then? Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are fine."

"They're at the table behind me, right...?"

"Yes why?"

"Because I can feel their eyes boring into the back of my head kind of unnerving... I think they want to eat my soul...."

He laughed softly. "I don't see how that would be appetizing at all."

"Hey, I think I have a damn tasty soul thank you very much..." she turned around putting a pleasant smile on her face. "May I help you..?" She gave a quick glance to Dumbledore as if to remind them who she was 'related' to, and they quickly turned to their meals.

He blinked a bit. "I don't think I've ever seen them behave like that..."

She shrugged her shoulders. "You just have to know how to talk to them.." She smiled looking over to Dumbledore lifting her glass in his direction before taking a drink out of it. "Or in this case it's who you know I suppose... or rather who knows you..."

"They aren't tough when teachers are around. It's when they aren't that there's a problem."

"Malfoy's the problem. Him and Harry hate each other. He's probably just jealous cause Harry was a big deal when he came to school and no one gave a damn about him."

"He would be the blond one glaring very angrily at Harry?"

"Yup."

"Gotcha. Ooo...are those things sitting next to him are...? Actual people?"

"Supposedly but I don't think they really are."

She smirked and giggled softly shaking her head and munching quietly on her food. She raised an eyebrow watching Mel and smirked, taking another sip from her cup. Once she ate her fill she started looking around again, avoiding any place she happened to feel eyes on her which didn't give her much to look at. "Three days right...?" She grumbled to herself as she sighed and rested her chin on her hand. She waited for the others to finish, there was no way she was going to wander back to the common room on her own, she'd wind up somewhere she shouldn't be for certain.

He chuckled softly at he comments. Of course they know they were humans, they did happen to turn into them second year, though they weren't much for humans. He continued to eat blinking a bit at D's lack of an appetite. "You okay?"

"More sleepy then hungry."

"You should still eat"

"I'm a vampire.. I sparkle and everything..." she retorted half sarcastic half serious.

"But vampires don't-" She frowned and went back to her food.

Mel hummed to herself quietly as she ate. The food was really good and she was glad to have something in her stomach. She stayed quiet as she ate only really talking to the girls in her head trying to convince Mana she couldn't ask for the recipe for a woman in her head. Once that was settled she placed more food on her plate. "This is really good."

"She was only suggesting you should still eat." Ron blinked after swallowing what he was eating.

"Tired?"

"We'll take you back to the common room. We have to finish putting together our prank anyway. You can help us if you like. I think more people working on it will make it better. Or you could just relax or fall asleep."

"Why don't you go take a nap or something." Mel smiled grabbing a chicken leg and handing it over to Lilly who sneaked under the table.

She laughed softly standing up. "Sure, I'll see if I can help." She smirked resting a hand on her forehead. "Whatever would mother think if she saw me sneaking off with two boys alone in the middle of the evening..." She rolled her eyes and waved her hand to the others before walking towards the door, pausing momentarily for her escorts, smiling softly knowing she was getting stared at. "I really hate this." She grumbled through her teeth. Once she had the twins close by she exited the hall letting out a loud sigh. "Well that was completely horrible..."

He laughed softly. "Ron, she was kidding.. everyone knows vampires don't sparkled.... right?" He blinked a bit looking at Hermione.

"No Harry, they do not."

He coughed slightly. "I knew that..." He chuckled eating more of his food, listening to the chatter around him.

"Great." Fred nodded. "I'm sure she'd be very proud. You have two guys after all. Not just one and at least you have two handsome escorts." He grinned as each two took an arm and escorted her down the hallways and back towards the common room. They let her arms go when they got to a couch before the two went up stairs quickly getting all of the paper they had they're jokes planned on.

"You never know with how our school year goes. Who knows what could happen next. That's just our bloody luck."

Mel giggled a bit and rubbed the back of her head after waving goodbye to D. She then turned back to her food and finished eating. She tilted her head looking under the table watching Lilly chew on the chicken bone. She straightened back out and smiled. "Sparkling vampires...that's just silly." Mel placed her hands on her lap and waited for everyone else to be done so she didn't have to try to remember where she was going.

She sprawled out on the couch yawning softly as she watched the fire and waited, pondering just what they were up to, but was drawing a blank. She shook her head and concentrated on the fire a bit longer, waiting to hear the foot falls coming down the steps.

He laughed softly. "Ron, our luck isn't that bad.."

"It isn't?"

"Okay, it may be that bad.. but it always turns out alright in the end..."

"Always?"

"Fine.. usually..." He watched Mel for a moment, seeing she had stopped eating, he was nearly finished with his own meal, but he didn't want to just leave Ron and Hermione, so he waited with her, chuckling softly to himself as the couple talked back and forth, discussing a homework assignment Ron had apparently done wrong.

The two red headed twins came back down the stairs quickly before tossing most of the papers they had onto the floor before sitting down and looking them over. "We could try and fix the exploding paper."

"I always like the charmed quill brushes. They run away as soon as you try and use them."

He glanced over at D and smiled. "Which idea do you like better?"

"Our luck hasn't been bad recently as in this school year. In the past it's been horrible and who knows what this year will bring." He rubbed the back of his head and sighed a little, listening to Hermione.

Mel blinked before patting her lap as Lilly climbed back onto it. She rubbed her chin causing the stripped feline to purr happily. "Your luck can't be as bad as mine." She shook her head and sighed. "I always end up in a bad situation and something terrible happens and then it's just a big mess to clean up." She huffed and waved her hand a bit.

He raised an eyebrow at her and coughed slightly. "Obviously you haven't heard about all the trouble we've gotten into..."

"I doubt it since she's just only arrived, but I'm sure there will be rumors bustling around that she can hear sooner or later..." She shrugged. "Though it may be better for her to find out from us then a third party."

He nodded chuckling softly, "I guess, but I think that could wait until later, you're probably tired right..?"

She blinked and tilted her head looking over the ideas and smirked. "How about you combine them?" She pointed over to a few things. the quills will run away until they get near exploding paper, and when you use them on the paper it'll explode.." She wagged her finger. "Since the quills won't want to work on any other paper they'll be forced to use the exploding paper."

"No I can't say I have." She smiled. "But our uncle told us to keep you out of trouble so I guess I'll do my best with that. After all it's the least I can do for him." She blinked listening to Hermione as she petted Lilly. "Well I do enjoy stories..." Her nose twitched. "Maybe someday I can tell you about all the stuff that's happened to us." She shifted a bit and stretched yawning. "A bit.." She laughed. "I could probably pass out unless the food kicks in...then I might have to go for a run or something to burn all my energy off."

"Our stories will take to long. We might finish them by the end of the year."

Fred raised his eyebrow and looked over to his twin as they both thought it over. "That's a good idea!" The two chatted for a moment discussing how they'd be able to do that. "Snapes' class would be a bad idea to try it. We'll have to pick another."

She smiled. "Why have it be in a class? You could go it in the library... leave some quills around and some exploding paper and watch what happens." She smiled stretching out on the couch looking up at the ceiling before glancing at the twins playfully. "Don't tell me I'm a better prankster then you two..."

He laughed softly. "I think we could give her the summary Ron, I don't thinks he needs to know every little detail..."

She stood up, finished with her food. "Come on Ron, you need to re-do your assignment, it's due tomorrow. You can't put it off forever..."

He laughed softly and stood up as well, waiting for the others before heading to the common room.

"Now that's just impossible. No one is a better prankster then us." He smirked and shook his head. "We just like to prank fellow classmates but it wouldn't be that hard to just use the library. We just have to set things up."

"But most of the details make it fun." Ron nodded. "If we left out most of the detail it wouldn't be a very long story." He looked up at Hermione and frowned. "Aww...you've made me work on it all day." He sighed and stood up before looking down at Harry. "Never get a girlfriend mate...they're pure evil..." He nodded.

Mel chuckled a little and stood up setting Lilly on her shoulders before she placed her hands behind her back making sure she stayed with her group. She raised her eyebrow and blinked. Hermione wasn't evil she just wanted him to do well in school.

She scowled and reached up, smacking the back of his head. "Honestly Ron, was that really necessary? Perhaps you'd like to be single again, because that can be arranged..."

"I'll uh.. keep that in mind..." He chuckled softly, muttering the password and stepping through the portrait looking at the twins and then to D. "Having fun?" He chuckled and made his way over to them looking over George's shoulder. "What are you up to this time so I can be sure to avoid it...?"

She frowned softly. "You're not going after Snape again are you? You're going to get yourselves expelled if you aren't careful..."

She laughed softly and shook her head and sat up a bit, smiling to Mel and Lilly. "Lil's, come here, I want cuddles..." She pat her lap, awaiting the striped feline to come to her so she could pet her.

"I was just kidding! Geez! You think you'd know me by now." Ron frowned and rubbed the back of his head following after them. "You know I'm just teasing."

"D gave us a good idea to combine our exploding paper and our run away quill idea." Fred smirked. "Oh no. We're doing it on the library this time."

"Oh that's just going to be dangerous..." He rubbed the back of his head before he continued up the stairs so he could finish his project with Hermione supervising.

Lilly rolled her eyes a bit before she got down from Mel's shoulders and trotted over to D and jumped onto her lap purring.

Mel sat down near the fire place and smiled enjoying the warmth from it. "Mmm...feels nice."

She rolled her eyes and followed Ron up the stairs. "You two are going to kill someone..."

He laughed softly. "That only almost happened once, I'm sure they've learned from their mistakes by now... Right guys?"

She smiles and rubbed under Lilly's chin and stroked her back, waiting for her to lay down before she rubbed the feline's stomach.

He made his way over to the chair by the fire and smiled. "Yeah, the castle tends to get a bit drafty, so the fires are always nice, and on really cold nights there's bed warmers under the sheets so your feet stay warm as well as a mini furnace in the middle of the room where you can put things to dry or get warm..."

She blinked. "I think I remember seeing one in our room." She looked towards the stairs and blinks. "I swore you could see the door from here... maybe I was mistaken..."

He raised an eyebrow and laughed softly. "There's never been a door there."

She smiled rubbing the back of her head. "Oh, my mistake." I swear there was a door on the first landing where our room was, or maybe I wasn't paying attention because I was looking at the map...
