If I remember correctly, it's kinda a glitch in the system. Some people get trade notifications and some don't. I'm one of those that doesn't. :B

When I joined we only had five of the games. The older ones, you can tell which is which. But I used to play Snake everyday religiously. ... It was the only game I was good at.

I haven't tried the quests yet- or the games will you believe it! Although I'm socially awkward IRL I'm way too much into socialising on Mene... but what can I do if the people are so awesome?
I think Magic is what science can't explain yet. (Sometimes I don't think science is really all that there though. I CAN'T accept something to be a wave and particle at the same time. And that's something fishy right at the fundamentals, which makes me pretty sceptical.)
And I think time is just packaged events. Of course that doesn't fit with time slowing down in a black hole or whatever, but I still don't think time is something real, just something we invented for our own convenience.
Just think for a minute... the human brain named itself and according to the human brain humans are the most advanced species on the planet. Science!

Science is definitely overrated xD. If you're not doing science society assumes it's 'cause you haven't the aptitude for it. It was bad enough that I took the Bio, Phy, Chem combo without math in it; one relative gave me a math puzzle and when I was able to solve it said, 'So why are you scared of math? You can handle it.' Like he'd forgotten what I'd told him about none of the things I wanted to do in college required me to do math in 11th and 12th grade. I try telling my mom, 'How can I do science when I don't even believe in it? And you want me to do reasearch but I'd feel like I was commiting a crime and I DON'T WANNA KNOW' but it doesn't work. My mom did science and she loves it and she's hurt that I'm not the same, but just because I've her flesh and blood in me doesn't mean I should be just like her.
@Ash You seem like such a sweet person x3 *hugs you and comes away all sugar-coated* How are you today?

So true. I would not want you to get fired. I am currently going to college for communications. I wish I had a job, but at the same time I am thankful for the time I am given because I do not have one. I just had a very nice weekend with my boyfriend. So that was good, but I am now home and getting ready for school tomorrow. On menewsha I am finally starting to get used to talking in the forums and the process of earning gold, although I am thinking about using the marketplace. Some users have said that people who gain gold within the marketplace are not always looked at with respect, but I don't know. I think it is valid to buy low and sell high. I am kinda looking forward to seeing the auctioneer on Menewsha. I only know of his existence, I haven't been around long enough to see him actually put things up for auction.

I did not know that about the marketplace O_O
Oh well. It's very rare that I'll buy an item I'll want to sell off. I like hoarding xD.
There's an official auctioneer? Even though users can auction themselves? Is he like an NPC or something?
(I'm much more of a noob then you are, lol.)

Yea, getting fired isn't the best thing in the world... Ah, that sounds rather interesting, I want to go to college to become an art teacher... That's good that you had fun with your boyfriend, I wish I had a significant other lol. I usually type a lot but all I have is my ipad sadly... I think usin the market is fine, as long as it's a reasonable price, I don't se anything wrong with it honestly...

So I just got out of surgery, got my galbladder out, and I'm now exhasted and in. pain.... butt there isn't much I can do about either... How is your day been going?

Oh, checkyour trades, A gift for you.

I hope your recovery is going well. Today just seemed like a very mundane day for me. This might be due to the weather and the fact that it was monday, but I got home from classes and just kinda collapsed.
ps: Thank you so much! I have added you to the donation list! ^_^
I never expected to have people actually donate items when I made this thread haha. Unlike gaia I feel like I am actually getting to know the community on menewsha rather than just a select few out of a hundred thousand people.

Just in a little pain, my tummy hurts and so does my shoulder, but so far soo good, that's rather normal I found out. Today went by fast because i've been asleep most of it. I hope you aren't too tired.

You're welcome hun, I want people to be active and you seem pretty active so I wanted to help you out a bit. I actually have a charity called "I Love Menewsha" To promote activity... I just need to make it look pretty and get some people to help me moderate it and then get more people in it to keep it going.

I dislike gaia... I got hacked to many times without anyone doing anything about it... plus it's expensive irl if you want any items or anything, but that's just my opinion honestly, plus a lot of people on there are cocky....

I would not mind helping with moderation, but I must say I don't always feel like I am active enough here. There are definitely days when I am doing school work instead of menewsha or just dealing with IRL situations. I have made menewsha a part of my default sites. I still go on gaia, but I do not talk with people as much as I do here. Eventually I may change this thread up and add some art to it or make a banner that says "2600's Time Quests: [X]"
Where x would be Steampunk, but could change over time.
I don't even know how to deal with the gold system on gaia.
My main account was hacked twice on gaia, but it was never stolen which made me feel a bit better but it did mean I had to change passwords a lot. :\

I think menewsha is great after you've made a few friends, then find your little nich. Sorry for delayed responses, i'm kind of in a lot of pain... well not a lot, but enough to keep me from staying on mene....

The gold system on Gaia is just bunk to me. Like it seems kind of rigged to where you have to buy gold, especially buying things in market price. It's not good for people who can't spend irl money... That is one reason I prefer mene. It's WAY easier for me to obtain gold on here and make friends... but that may just be me.

Oh they took all my items both times, so I just kind of gave up honestly... I didn't find it was worth my time any more. Ha.. But I understand twith the work and stuff, i work a lot and can't get on much.

That's pretty understandable I mean I love learning but I always need a break, but that doesn't mean I always get one. Like on monday I got my gallbladder out and it's super painful to me but the plus side I get at least two weeks off from work. Which is aweome... I'm thinking of quittingg though and just clean my parents house every day to get money.

That's crazy! I hate working on speeches or giving them out beccause I just suck at that kind of thing honestly.

Dandelioness:
Yes there is an Auctioneer. If you have ever been on gaia the equivalent NPC would be Flynn. As she does auctions a lot now. The difference being that the auctioneer does not sell nearly as much as Flynn does. He is an NPC and if you do bid on something in the marketplace he will be the NPC that automatically contacts your account if you win or lose an auction battle. Do not worry, everyone is a noob at something. On gaia the place I spent the most time was in the marketplace. I feel like a noob within certain forums because I never had to write this much content on gaia. You can get away with spamming all over the place. Here the users write coherent sentences that other users and administrators actually respond to.
ps: I apologize for the late response. ^_^

It is the middle of the semester, I think that once October is over and halloween passes, the finish line will be easier to see and I will start to feel like I can atually get through the rest of the semester. There always seems to be a period with a lack of inspiration in school. If all goes well I will be much more active during the holidays. That will be fun. I do want to log in on Halloween. I really just want to see if anything gets put in the special event store or maybe a giveaway. Anything really. It would be my first holiday spent on Menewsha. ^_^
ps: I will tell you how the speech goes after I present it next week if you want to know.

The hyperinflation on Gaia has made the economy a chaotic shamble... that's what I heard anyway. XD I was only on Gaia for a week and found I couldn't keep up with all the activity. I can't access the internet more than once a day and that's an okay pace on Mene but it wouldn't work there. Plus there was a little too much to do and I couldn't commit myself, and in such a large community I don't feel like my voice is heard.

I see. NPCs are cute :) They're often so realistic I wouldn't know that they were NPCs if it didn't say so beneath their avi.
I don't think I'll start an auction. I don't even like participating in auctions because I can't stand the suspense, plus I can't keep logging in every hour to raise my bid over the recent ones or anything like that. I liked the auctions on this site called GirlSense before it closed, the auctions were max 20 mins long which was cool and sometimes I'd join an auction when there were like 3 mins left and bid like crazy XD. It sounds like a Barbie-ish site but it was fun, because 90% of it was user generated content.

I have been on gaia since I was in middle school 0_0 All of my original friends do not go on anymore either because of college, real-life problems or because of the inflation. Also a lot of the users on gaia seem illiterate to a degree whereas this site praises people who can write coherent sentences.

I have not really accumulated enough gold to bid on items that I would want yet, but once I do the bidding wars shall begin. I absolutely love the current Contribution Items (CI) the Ultimate Gentleman and Flying High. If I cannot afford them now I hope that the auctioneer puts them up in the future.

Some users on gaia and I guess some here would consider bidding on something at the last minute as "sniping". Basically it means that you bid the exact amount of currency you want to spend on an item right before the auction ends. If you do ever do this, know that Menewsha and gaia both have anti-sniping programs in place that lengthen the auction for a minute when this happens. This is something I did not even realize I did on gaia until recently.

Since middle school? Wow you must be attached to Gaia even if your friends left.
And since you've experiecned it: I'd like to know, how bad is the inflation on Gaia really? I fell out of it ages before it crept in.
I did not know about the sniping-thing. LOL I should come with ALL my silly noob questions to you. Seriously though, thank you! I really need to know the stuff you tell me!

This is a direct link to a post I made about the gold cap on gaia if you are interested. [x]
The short version is that gaia changed the cap from a 32 bit number to a 64 bit number and then started plaguing the cash shop with chance items that give away billions of gold to users that spend money on the site.

Ps: Do not worry I really do enjoy answering these questions and yes you could definitely say that I am still attached to gaia. ^_^

OMG.
So, do people who just want to earn gold without paying up real-life money stay noobs forever? Can't the staff see from all the discussions that all it's doing is losing users by this? How long is it gonna be that way?
It's sad. It's like avi sites are fated to doom or something. Many of the ones I've loved closed and Gaia which nobody can imagine closing, looks like the staff wants to make as much money as possible off the users before shutting up and running.

There are many users that have been accepted into club verge meaning that they have spent $100 dollars or more on gaia cash. As long as there are users that are willing to spend that amount of money, the ones who do not use cash are left in the dark unless they are good artists, or know how to play the marketplace very well.

I did not do much during the Halloween event, those event items that I have were gifted to me by a generous user whose event (and regular hangout) thread I was a part of. I still had the same computer time, and real life was still the same so... yeah... *sighs*

Thanks ^_^ yours title suits you as well. Currently the last few weeks of the semester are coming up. Loads of work in every class makes these weeks feel like they are much longer than they actually are. IRL I have been pretty stressed about getting things done, but on Mene I actually earned enough gold to buy a contribution item from the marketplace. XD Most of the fancy items I have were gifts from lovely users. Honestly that is one of the reasons I still come back to this site. <-< Nobody even talks to me on gaia. At least menewshans make an attempt to chat. IRL I watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show for halloween. That was fun, but as I said the thing that has been on my mind the most lately is the end of the semester.
(I did start playing attack of the fangirls. It has become one of two games that I can earn gold until I reach the limit. The other one is snake)
