Heh Thanks guys. I'd totally change my mene name to that, but....I'd be so sad to not be called Woody. And I'm POSITIVE that Linny would then call me Snatch or something else >.<

Yah. The Hobbit is a lot less involved than LOTR. More written as a children's story....but, I love how it's being fleshed out on film right now with all the extra writings that Tolkien did.

Waaah! Charity notice! I feel like I did something wrong. T_T

I like Woody ^^ It's a fun name. /nodnod/

Oh I see. Maybe I"ll pick it up or ask for it for my birthday in November. :3

I honestly wasn't a huge fan of The Hobbit. I do kind of feel like I should reread all of those books though, I was pretty young when I read them the first time.

It would probably be a good idea to reread them. ^^ To see if you still feel that way about them.

Yeah, a while back I went back and reread some of my favorite young adult books. The experience can be quite a bit different years later!

I should read more, if only there were more hours in a day.

I agree! As I grow older, I realize that some of the stuff I used to read or listen to, is or was really bad. Lol.
But back then it was what I liked. XD

I tend to read a lot on the subway. I'm currently reading Beautiful Creatures but I'm not liking it at all. I should give it up and send it back where it came from but I'm too stubborn. I can't believe there are three more books after this one. >.>

They were my favorite books growing up. So much so that I so took a Tolkien's Middle Earth class in college. I also went to the Tolkien Conference that my professor held every year. I was going to read an essay I wrote on Bilbo (The Bard. About his growth through his adventures and acquaintances as a storyteller and the importance of oral tradition). BUT, I wasn't quite done with it before the conference. So, my professor still invited me out for dinner with all the keynote speakers and scholars who came. It was pretty magical.

It's just... Bleh. Ridiculously slow, written from from a weird point of view, uselessly long descriptions, and boring high school drama.

My fiance took a Tolkein class even though he hadn't previously read the books. >.> I actually made Lembas bread once.

I didn't really think it looked promising to begin with. I got it accidentally from a Netflix-like book service. It was probably like 60th on my queue but they sent it to me anyway. V_V

Hello Lady Desi!

@ Vanora: I should but I'm stubborn. The other day I told myself I was going to start skimming but then I ended up reading it anyway. Stupid of me really. Maybe I'll try skimming more tonight. It's like I'm willing this pain upon myself... >.>

@ Vanora: I will do my best to skim through that crap and get it over with. *Nods* I'm not sure it will work though, I have a tendency to force myself to read every word of something. Like advertisements in magazines. >.>

@ Mr. Stravaganza: You're not being very gentleman-like. V_V Don't make me think about taking my zapper back out!

@ Lady Desi: Aw, I'm sorry. V_V
