Name: Kenji
Age: 16
Bio: Lives with his family and has an annoying older sister who loves to pry into his life and treats him like a baby. He loves friends and it doesn't really matter to him if he's being taken advantage or not. Generally stupid or kind-hearted? Who knows?

Haku sighed. He didn't know where to go or what to do. He was bored, lonely, hungry, and needed a bath. He felt like a stray kitten. His clothes where tattered and it was snowing outside. He used a credit card to get into an empty house on a street in a nice neighboorhood. It would be suitable shelter for now. He curled up on an old couch. Way was he like this? Why did he have no one to even call a friend? He had always been kind to people, and worked hard, but no one wanted him.

"I'm fine. I'll be fine on my own," he mumbled into the phone as he adjusted his bag. It was real cold outside and he blamed it on himself that he wasn't able to bring anything warm or thick this morning. Sniffling a little and making a face when he'd heard the reply his sister gave him, he was half tempted to just shut the phone and throw it somewhere. Of course, he held himself back. If he did just that, it'd worry his sister and she might just fly halfway across the globe to tend to him and see if he's okay. Should she see him all right, she'll try and make his life a living hell. "Seriously, woman. Go back to work. You talking to me will only make you slobber off the rest of what you should be finishing tonight." His sister sounded like a small kid given the scolding and as he ended the call with a, "Night," and an, "I love you," he slid his phone back into his pocket and got his keys out.

One. Two. Three. The third key from the left was the key to his door. That was his way of remembering it what with the countless of keys he was asked to bring. One was for the car - even though he doesn't drive; the second's the door to his parents, and the third's an extra to the front door. The rest? They were keys to the rest of the house. His parents were scared that if a robber were to come in, s/he'd have access to the whole house. Sighing for the umpteenth time, he quickly got in and hurried to turn the heater on before he'd dropped his bag by the living room door. He needed something hot to drink first off so he could get rid of his colds. Hot chocolate should do the trick.

Haku shivered. He was afraid he might die in this weather. He ha ear muffs that were made to look like cat ears and covered his perfectly. His nose was blue and his fingers were turning purple. He had to get somewhere safe and quick. He knocked on the door of a house he had seen someone go into just a few seconds ago. He hoped the boy he had seen would let him in. He was freezing.

Kenji blinked at the knock to his door. He had just started boiling some water in the teapot when that had happened. Frowning a little and turning to look at the time and then at the note on the refrigerator door, he was hesitant about opening the door. His sister was out of the country, his parents were out on their usual work out at night and he didn't have any friendly neighbors at all. Well, one of their neighbors were an old couple so that was understandable. The one at their left, too, was an abandoned place.

Goosebumps started to form on Kenji's arms. He rubbed them down and slowly moved to the door. Peeking out of the hole and pursing his lips, he reached out to grab the nearest thing he could: an umbrella and held it at an arm's length. "Who's there?" he asked, wary of the said stranger who had... cat ears? He saw those as he peered out again and frowned again. The other looked awfully cold. His nose was reminding him that of a reindeer. "You're not a robber, are you?" Stupid question, true, but he'd already opened the door halfway and was looking out with the door just a tidbit open to get a better view of the said stranger.

Haku shivered and looked up at kenji. "could I come in and get warm for a bit? Please? I promise I'll be no trouble.." Haku saw that the one looking at him was a small dark haired boy no older than himself, maybe younger. He hoped this boy was freindlier than his neighbors who had all turned him away. He was pretty sure death would come soon if he stayed our here long. He had no shoes, his clothes were ripped in many places and he felt the cold seep right through him. He looked at the boy waiting for an awnser.

Kenji still looked hesitant but he knew quite well that if he were any more hesitant, this guy might die in the cold. Without his jacket, he could already feel the cold getting in and seeping into his skin. Opening the door and reaching out for his wrist, he pulled him in and shut the door. The boy locked it up and looked up at the other warily with a small frown before he'd hurried off to the kitchen. He'd heard the whistle from the teapot and that meant only one thing: hot drink. He might as well make one, too, for this stranger.

It didn't take long for him to return with a towel on his shoulder and both his hands holding a mug of hot chocolate with those pretty, small marshmallows. Sue him. He liked small and cute things. "Here," he said as he held out the mug to the other. His tattered clothes, too, told him that he was going to need new clothes and a bath. Just where did this guy come from?

Haku smiled and accepted the drink. "Thanks. I'm sorry to be trouble, but I was afraid that any longer in that weather could prove fatal." he drank the hot chocolate and sighed feeling warmth enter his body. He felt drowsy from being so warm. His body was beginning to turn slightly more normal in color. The blues and purples became a soft peach.

[[ Sorry for the late reply! ]]

Kenji nodded a little at the other's gratitude and blinked at his next words. That was true. Then, why was he outside? As he silently watched him drink the hot chocolate, he noticed a slight change of the other's color. Of course, the question came back and he gave him a curious look. "Why were you out there?" he asked, only noticing now the other's cat ears. It was really tempting to reach out and touch it but he prevented himself from doing so. He didn't want to be touched so surely, the stranger didn't want to either. It'd be rude, too, to do it without permission.

"Isn't it really cold?"

((it's ok ^^))
Haku looked down sadly. "I didn't have any place to go. I'm, er, homeless..." he blushed with embaresment. He hated being the way he was. His tail was lightly flickeing around from time to time. His eyes were gradually getting heavy and the fire looked so good to him. This boy really was nice to let him come in. He smiled. "Your a nice person, you know?"

That, he could tell. Kenji rubbed his hands lightly on his pant legs and moved his gaze down to that tail flicking about behind the other. "I... suppose," he started before he'd felt his own cheeks color a little in embarrassment. There was no need for this stranger to be so polite, though. At least, he thought he was even though he's only met him for a few minutes. He adjusted his glasses and turned to look at what the stranger was looking at. Was he looking at the fire?

"You could... uh, go there if you want." His hot chocolate was waiting in the kitchen and he forgot all about it. But, he couldn't leave the said stranger, though. He couldn't tell if the other was a robber, a killer or maybe some sort of animal with a tail and a pair of ears on his head.

Haku went to the fire as if entranced and sat beside it. A low rumbling noise could be heard coming from him as he closed his eyes. He then looked at the boy that had saves him. "Uh? Go in where?" he could tell the boy was suspicious and didn't blame him. Robbers these days could be anywhere and look like anything. His tail curled up around him and his ears quivered a bit from slight excitement as he saw a string hanging from a blanket. He swatted at it playfully. His eyes were all shiny with excitement and happiness. He then became bored and looked back at the boy wondering what it was that the had been talking about previously. He had already frogotten.

The rumbling noise told Kenji that the stranger was hungry. Hot chocolate won't do to ease that said hunger and that was also enough to remind him about his own hunger. "The living room..." The boy trailed off when he'd seen the other go towards the said fire and play with what looked like a string from the blanket he was planning on curling up into later on in the evening. His parents won't be home for a couple of days, maybe even months, so he basically had to do all the decisions and the paying of the bills.

"I'll go cook us some food. Try not to destroy anything." This was all he'd said as he hurried off to the kitchen again to whip something easy for the both of them to eat.

"huh?" Hake looked up. "O..Thank you." he smiled brightly. He was glad to have a free meal for once. He didn't remember when the last time he had a decent meal was.

It took Kenji a while to prepare the meal but when he had finished it, he came out from the kitchen with two bowls of hot soup. It looked a lot like crab soup with little bits of rice. If anything, Kenji liked concocting and putting things together. Hopefully, this stranger wouldn't mind that. Putting the bowls down onto the small table in front of the fire place, he seated himself on the couch and pulled the blanket over his lap before he'd tucked his feet under his legs. There wasn't any homeworks for tomorrow. He's done them all in school.

Taking a bowl, he looked again at the said stranger and tilted his head a little. His eyes found their way again to those ears and tail. They were, well, pretty unusual.

Haku sipped the soup careful and then decided he liked it and ate it quickly. "Mmmm thank you! That was so good." he grinned and purred like a cat. His tummy was warm and full. He decided to play a game with this boy. Hey! Do you wanna play a game of chase?" he had a kitten like expression.

"Chase?" The boy asked as he blinked. The other sure acted like a cat. Idly, he wondered if he was. "Uh..." he trailed off as he looked about the living room. It isn't exactly a place they could play chase unless they were outside or wanted to break things off inside the house. Surely, the latter was going to get him into trouble. "Not now, I guess. It's too dangerous to be playing chase here." Kenji gave the other an apologetic, small smile and finished his own soup before he'd set it down on the table. Pulling up the blanket to wrap it around himself, he stretched out on the couch and sniffled a little. "Do you want a change of clothes?" He was sure he could give him some of his older sister's old clothes. Those clothes she wouldn't dare wear outside.

Haku seemed happy. "Yes that would be fantastic!" his clothed right now where in rags and a fresh pair would be great. His tail curled up and it brushed against Kenji's leg, the soft fur felt like a kitten. He wondered what Kenji would think if he knew that Haku was part fox.

Kenji wouldn't know what to think if he knew that Haku was part fox. At least, he didn't think he'd know what to think considering this was his first time meeting one. "All right then." The boy warmed up to the other a little. He knew now he wasn't a robber. If he was, he would've had pulled out his weapon right now. Getting up to his feet with the blanket still wrapped tightly around him, he tilted his head a little - a silent indication for the other to follow him. The boy rubbed his nose with the blanket and sniffled before he'd yawned. He'll clean the plates tomorrow. It looked like he'll be sleeping in early tonight since he has to wake up early tomorrow to clean the house.

Haku followed him happily. He noticed a change in the other boys attitude. He was now trusted. This made him feel wanted. "Can we be best friends? I want a good friend and your so nice." he looked at the other hopeful for a yes. He liked this boy, not to mention he was quite handsome. He blushed at the thought. Maybe he would tell him the truth about what he was soon...it seemed he should trust him.

Best friends?! The boy looked aghast. Was this stranger serious? He hadn't even learned his name yet and he wanted to be best friends already? This stranger sure trusted people too fast. His cheeks though colored and he rubbed the side of his neck a bit. "I guess..." He trailed off and smiled bashfully. Opening the door to his sister's room - which had turned to a storage room, he headed straight for the closet and ransacked it for clothes for this said stranger. "What's your name?"

Kenji blinked and stopped halfway from bringing up the clothes. "A fox?" he asked, looking very much surprised. Now that he knew, he warily stepped closer to the other and held his clothes out at an arm's length. It isn't surprising that he found himself rather, well, scared, so to speak. "Um... Kenji..." The boy stopped and rubbed his arm. He was silent for a while before he'd spoken up again: "Your ears... and tail are real?"

Haku took the clothes and relized the boy was scared of him. Why was everyone so scared of him? He had always tried to be nice... "Yeah their real." he stroked his bushy tail nervously, holding it in his hands. His ears quivered this way and that. The were a bit droopy at the moment. He wished he'd never said anything about being a fox.
