Mei blinked as he suddenly pulled away the diary, reaching out and gripping his wrist in a vice like coil out of instinct. For a moment he seemed angry, the diary intensely important to the shape shifter… but Mei calmed and slowly released him. “What are you doing…” He asked quietly, putting his hand in his lap now as he watched the other trying to ferret out her mothers words….

"Is this....English?" He frowned a bit. Jack couldn't read English anyway, but this...this looked like some really really bad English. Jack shrugged and handed the diary back to Mei. "I can't read English anyway...for a moment though...some of that...it almost...Almost looked like Nyissian."

Talin passes out from his frustration with Mizuki and the face the loss of blood finally caught up with him.

Mizuki finally reclined against the pillows beside Talin, her energy sapped from using too much of her power in the past 2 days. She drifted into sleep, curling up close to him and draping an arm over his chest lightly.

“nyissian?” Mei frowned, pulling it back before opening the book and sighing to himself. Shaking his head he cuddled closer to Jack absently, running his hand over the page. “Yeah…Most of it's english…I think… handwriting was not my mother’s best skill….” Mei muttered with a shake of his head. He stroked the pages briefly but it was the only link to his now dead mother that he had..

"Aa. Nyissian...the main language spoken in my country. The island of Nyissa. The secondary language is Japanese..Nippon's main language." He shrugged slightly. "Some of that writing looks like Nyissian..."

Mei sighed, slowly closing the book and shaking his head. He then put it back in his pocket muttering “I see….” He doubted that there was any nyissian in there….honestly it was hard to tell. For a moment he looked broodingly at the counter, ordering some hot tea for his suddenly antsy nerves. He was getting no closer to finding the truth of what she and therefore he was…

Steven thought she would go to her room.she had still been at one of the
tables in the common room.she actually fell asleep there

Talin slowly regains consciousness and stares at the cieling, trying not to move and wake up Mizuki. He slowly turns his head to look at Mizuki's sleeping form and smiles watching her.

Steven got up and was holding the stick and going upstairs and opened her room door and shut it gently.
She changed out of her day clothes into her nightgown that was pink with ribbons on it and sat down on
her bed.

((perfect timing)) Mizuki opened her eyes, yawning as she came out of her restful state. It took her a second to remember where she was, and when she did, her face flushed lightly.

Mizuki smiled shyly at the elf beside her, wondering what he was thinking about.

"Sleep well?" Talin smiles feeling in his mind that Mizuki missed the worst of all his wounds and smiles inwardly. Thank god, she missed my ribs.

Talin was certainly a intriguing, remarkable person. He had skill, charisma, wit, honour, and a strong will. To further add to the appeal, he was the very definition of handsome. Mizuki felt herself grow shy and pink at the thoughts.

"Yes...I did actually...yourself?" she asked, hoping he was feeling better.

Talin smiles reaching over and runs his hand gently through Mizuki's hair. "Do not exhaust yourself like that again, it worries me. Please, for me, take a rest for a few days with your magic. And yes, I'm getting there."

"As you wish." she relented without an argument for once, smiling at him gently. Reaching a hand out, she slowly, lightly touched his cheek. "And you be more careful in fights, you make me worry sometimes by rushing into a fight."

Talin laughs a little trying not to show the expression of pain from the gash in his ribs. "I will, but I tend not to enter I fight I can't win anyway."

"You better not....and you are still hurt...." she said, sensing something was off. The rise and fall of his chest was slightly labored, and he seemed to favor one side more than the other. "How many ribs are broken?"

"None are broken, only one is gash, the blade hit all the way to the bone. And I will tell you now, do not! Do not heal it, it will be uncomfortable for time to come, but I must bear it. I do not like people healing my near-fatal wounds, I need to feel those to know how close I was." Talin looks at her somewhat serious, trying to read in her eyes that she will agree to his wishes on it.

Mizuki pursed her lips, looking about ready to argue. Stubborn to a fault, she wanted to help him. "I'll take only half, I won't heal it completely...a comprimise..." she sugessted, certain she'd be met with resistance.

"Not at all.....this is my pain to bear, not yours. I deserve what happened, it was my foolishness for rushing into such an intense training. I will heal fine, without your assistance on it. If you do heal it, I will re-inflict in on myself even worse." Talin looks closely at Mizuki, afraid he may have been to hard on her.

Mizuki growled at his threat, hating to be bested in an argument. "You wouldn't dare..."

Talin looks at her coldly for a moment. "Your speaking to a man that killed his own mother, do you really think I wouldn't?" His face softens slightly as he stares, lost in her eyes.

Mizuki was a bit caught off guard by this statement and the cold icy glare. Quickly froening and regaining her composure, she growled again, softer this time, looking more gentle. "But Talin..."

Talin leans forward and kisses her softly on the lips. "But nothing, I only ask something simple. for you to trust in me that I will heal fine without the assistance. Can you not respect that?"

Mizuki sighed, nodding finally at his words. In truth, she felt somewhta guilty of making him feel untrusted. "I can....Forgive me Talin..I meant no disrespect and suspicion.." she murmured, blushing at his lips. She touched her lips lightly, liking the feeling that lingered.
