Looks like you missed your calling as a bartender, Zig.
I might not have Internet access for the rest of today (depends on the availability of free wifi!) so if not today I'll collect everything tomorrow.

I'm baaack!
Thanks for not making too much of a mess in the kitchen in my absence. Alternatively, make more mess and more tasty goodies!
I'll get these new entries up and look forward to see the planned cooking.

I'm so silly.... I just made a massive stack of pancakes for dinner annnnd I didn't think to write up a slip with my name before I demolished them.....womp womp womp
KatMagenta: Could I take a proof picture with the table runner that was in the shot?
Also, would pancakes count as a savory dish since it's the main meal?

Sorry for the late reply, been out 9-4 today.
Woodlandnymph: I would accept a picture clearly in the same location as proof. You can enter as a savoury and I'll use my judgement then.
+ Ooh, I've only ever seen chocolate chicken with a batter before.

Title: Pinkies! aka Strawberry "brownies"
Entry:
Comments: What better to have in a no cocoa category than chocolate-less brownies?! Shaped in the new silicone pans I got for fifty percent off after V-day. Yes! And covered in a cream cheese glaze. You don't even miss the cocoa! Still need a big glass of milk though. Mine are a slightly altered version of this recipe.

Title: SNOWPOCALYPSE SUNDAE
Entry:
Comments: I live in the Northeast, which means I am currently sitting under a metric ton of snow. I decided that rather than shovel, I would eat my way out of said snow. And thus began my snow ice cream escapades! I made snow ice cream, but it was just missing something. Hence, the SNOWPOCALYPSE SUNDAE was born! A fluffy mound of vanilla snow ice cream delicately drizzled with chocolately goodness. No cherry, because I was kind of snow bound and couldn't go out to get some. Just imagine that I ate the cherry and tied the stem into a perfect sailor's knot with my tongue ;) And if you're wondering, the plan to eat my way out of the snow failed. I still had to shovel. I have a seven foot pile of snow at the end of my driveway. :(

Title: Jai or Buddha's Delight
Entry: x X x
Comments: It is not Valentine's Day but it is a sweet/savoury meal for everyone. It is a vegetarian meal that is eaten on the lunar new year and contains so many ingredients that I don't know the english name of. But some of my favorite ingredients (in the third picture) are the fried bean curds, mushrooms, and cellophane noodles (I had to google the name for the cellophane noodle!). According to wikipedia, Buddhists eat this during the new year as a form of self-purification. While growing up, I've always had the belief that it was food that monks eat because they are vegetarians.

Title: soft chewy sweet cakes of goodness
Entry: x
Comments: Normally during the lunar new year my family and I buy these every year. However this year, my mom and I decided to take it upon ourselves to make it! They are called nian gao and are traditionally eaten during the lunar new year. "Nian Gao" actually means sticky cake but in chinese, the sounds are identical to "year high," thus when we eat it during the new year, we are actually wishing for a better year or a prosperous year. My mom and I steamed this for 3 hours in our steamer! We used metal cans which we lined with saran wrap as molds. We also fried the sesame seeds in a pan and my dad wrapped the cakes in red paper after they were cooled. The color red symbolizes luck and wards away evil. :D
With the valentine day flowers and the red paper wrappers, doesn't it look like a great valentine dessert?
