M'kay.You know the plot. My character is Keiko!

Keiko walked the sidewalk on her way home from school. She had ended up having to stay after, for a meeting of the student representitives. Usually she would have walked home with Yusuke Urameshi, her long time best friend, but today he hadn't come to school.
"He's probably off training..." She though with a sigh.

As she walked, she brandished her school briefcase as though it were a weapon. Keiko really didn't like walking home alone this late, because there were perverts, thugs, and the like in this area.

Hiei noticed the girl walking, and remembered his losing bet with the fox. "Stupid fox. Stupid humans. Stupid bet," he muttered under his breath. He hopped down from the rooftop where he stood, landing behind the girl. "Human," he called, fully expecting her to answer to that.

In response, Keiko instinctually swung her briefcase out at whoever had just appeared behind her. All the while she declared, "Take that you pervert!!"

Ducking the case, Hiei caught her arm, a snarl forming on his face. "Relax, human, it's only me. I don't intend to harm you. This time." Feisty little weakling human, he thought to himself.

Keiko took a second to calm down. Then she freaked out again when she realized who it was. He had kidnapped her before. She was afraid now, even despite his statement that he had no plan to hurt her.
"Wh... What do you want?" She asked, trying to pull her arm away.

Her fear didn't surprise him, but on some level, he regretted scaring her. After all, wasn't he here to apologize? "I wanted to talk to you. If I may." He let her arm go, and took a step away, both his hand empty and visible.

"I... Uhm... I guess." Keiko replied ever so hesitantly. "About what though?" She asked, cautiously. It was only human nature that she be hesitant.

Hiei didn't know how to say what he wanted to talk about. "Nothing earth-shattering, I promise." His red eyes flashed at her. She was right to be afraid of him.

"So then... Then say, so I can... Can go home." She struttered. She was trying to sound brave but it wasn't working. That flash in his eyes still terrified her. She could feel the goosebumps already.

"Fine. I'm sorry." Hiei just said that, waiting for her reaction. But he had fulfilled the requirements of the lost bet.

It Keiko a moment to generate a logical explaination for his apology. Then the reason she feared him flashed in her mind. "Why the sudden apology?" She asked with a frown. "Typically evil demon kidnappers don't return to apologize." She said, acusingly.

How annoying, he thought, shaking his head. "How would you know what's typical of us? Your experience with us is limited," Hiei observed, turning to walk away.

"Note I said evil demon kidnappers. Maybe there's good non-kidnapper demons out there! I dunno, but excuse me if my past experience has been none too fond." Keiko said, watching him walk away.

"Hn." He turned around, glarding right through her. "Kurama would like to think I've changed since I...met...you. But I think you're right, in this case. I am evil. I'm a kidnapper. Nothing will change that, will it?"

She was a bit taken aback by that. She looked down, the shame was instant. "I... You can change... Everyone can change... Or perhaps I'm just to stereotypical in my thinkings." She said quietly.

Shortly after she said this, a large gang of thugs approached them. "Hand over your money and we might let you go." Was the order from the biggest thug. Keiko held to to her breifcase. She would use it as a weapon, need be.

Hiei drew his sword, his face twisting into a snarl. Dumb humans. "Fools," he muttered, swinging his sword in an arc to dispatch several of them at once. ((Do you mind gore?))

(It doesn't bother me terribly unless it's pointless 'Kill a puppy cuz it looked at me funny' stuff. All I ask is tact in when gore occurs.)

One thug came up behind Keiko and made a grab at her behind. Needless to say that didn't go over very well. Keiko swung her suitcase and nailed the moron square in the face. "YOU PEVERT!!!!" She declared. She swung at the thing just as hard as she had often swung at Yusuke for the same thing.

Hiei supressed a chuckle at her attack. She was stronger than she looked. His attention turned to a pair of goons about to come at him, and he quickly slashed their throats, dark blood dripping on his boots. He looked over his shoulder to see how the human was holding up.

While Keiko had been fighting off one, another one had come up behind her, and twisted her arms behind her back to subdue her. "Lemme... LEMME GO!" She said, struggling. She tried to kick him, but in her position wasn't acheiving much. The thug put his fingers to a pressure point on her neck. "Stop squirming, girl." He said, threateningly.

Hiei didn't have to think twice before moving, slashing at the man's arms to get him to let go. He launched himself at him, slashing repeatedly until the goon didn't move any more. "Are you all right?" Hiei muttered to Keiko, not meeting her eyes.

She rubbed her shoulder. "Yeah... I think. Just sore..." She said. "That idiot would have liked to have yanked my arms off for how tight he had them. Are you okay?"

Hiei nodded. The few thugs who were still able to, were running away. The others were playing possum, hoping not to incur his wrath. Hiei met Keiko's eyes. "As I was about to say, I haven't changed. This is what I do."

"But you just saved me. You're not bad and I was wrong. If you were bad, you would have just watched as the stole my money and god knows what else. So I know you aren't bad!" She said, determinedly.

"They threatened me, as well. I was just teaching them a lesson." But somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered if he had meant to protect the human girl. That seemed like such an odd thought.

"Oh..." She said softly. "I uhm... Sorry for all that..." Keiko said. She felt so stupid now. Really stupid and embarrassed that she had made such a big deal of this all. Why did it bother her though?
