Meredith Gentry? That's the series name. Laurell K. Hamilton writes the books.

Its a pretty popular series. If you read sci-fi/fantasy/paranormal youve probably at least run into it at some point. I know I heard about it years before I actually read it.

ahh.. mmm. im not sure? i mean, i enjoy the idea but i feel like it's been overdone a lot.
or at least the average plot of that kind of novel?
honestly it's been hard for me to get into books lately since i keep questioning why everyone's white and straight. the downside to becoming more aware of issues in representation tbh
and a lot of teen dystopian novels have some sort of love interest thing going on and i can't read a lot of it

on the other hand im all for really cool worldbuilding and stuff so that's the part of dystopian novels i do like. not sure if proxy counts as a dystopian novel but it's really good

I really enjoyed that book. Its pretty typical as far as general dystopian plots go, but the world building is good for a new author.

yea. one time i missed going to the zoo with some friends even though they called me 8 times and i had alarms set because my phone didn't go off. not really a life changing matter but it would have been so much fun x_x
