Rose laid in the infirmary for quite awhile, she was tired, and now just finally getting her blood to warm up. She had just woken up hungry, but, her main deal was the fact that she had this really bad headache. She only got this headache whenever it was cold outside and she didn't want it to be cold. She hated the cold and she hated these headaches. Sitting up, she took her time focusing, if she didn't focus, she would drop then and there on the floor.

Moving off of the bed going the way she thought might have been correct, she ran into a girl with long, chocolate brown hair. "Oh sorry" she quickly spoke as she took more of a look at the girl, it was Kitty, Kitty Pryde. She was known to be the gentle one of the X-men, but, also the one with the most heart. Down to earth, classic kind of girl, and yet very strong willed.

"No, no, you're alright. But, should you be up so soon? I heard what happened to you" Kitty stated as she walked the girl to the way upstairs and then in the elevator. When it moved to go up, Rose swayed, and Kitty caught her. "Easy there, we wouldn't want you to over do it. We'll get upstairs, wait for the others to get home, and then decide from there" Kitty spoke as they did what she had said.

Val stood just outside the gates of the X-Academy for gifted youngsters. Another term for mutants or freaks. The wind was slow, the night sky was somewhat out, and it was a normal night. The girl inside he noticed was with another girl and both of them seemed at ease. Maybe this would be easier with just the two of them in there. He hadn't noticed anyone else and because of that, he thought it was too easy for him to attempt. So he stayed and waited to see what else or more like what all could happen. He kept an eye on her, he needed to get her home to safety, it was of what he was asked to do.

EDIT 2: Val left, he felt like this would get no where, and just walking in on some mutants, similar to him in some sort of way would be really stupid. He didn't know them or their powers or could imagine what they could even do. Especially with the little or most experience they have or might have. He walked towards the park, a common place for anyone to go, and a nightly walk could be good to relax.

After walking around for a bit Rouge started to make her way back to the crater she had met Trina at and started looking for the bike. She had not really noticed the x-men’s car, seeing as it was getting late and dark. Once she found the bike she started it up and made her way back to the institute. She kept on driving not really paying that much attention to what had be going on all day. She had no idea what had gone on, really it had just all been a blur with people running around.

Reaching the gates to the institute Rouge opened them up and went through them before closing them up again. She had noticed an odd shadow but was too busy thinking about all that had gone on that she did not pay that much attention to it. She parked Trina’s bike back into the garage and noticed that one of the cars were missing. She figured that the others had taken it out and just headed into the mansion. From there she just wandered around the house and did checks on some of the students that were staying there.

After checking on some of them Rouge headed back down to the stairs and into the kitchen to grab something to eat. She gathered a few things out of the fridge and set out to make a sandwich. Once she was done she sat down and started to eat.

Kitty had made Rose a light snack in the kitchen as they were talking, "Oh hey Rogue, what's up?" Kitty asked cheerfully as she normally did around people unless they didn't return the courtesy. Rose glanced up, some of her blonde hair hiding a bit of her face, as her green eyes scanned the one who came in. She just did a small smile and went back to eating her cut up fruit. Kitty had grabbed a soda for herself and an extra in case Rogue wanted it. Rose had tea for her headache, which was still bothering her, but, she wouldn't tell.

Rose had sat there, her drink and food in front of her, and she wondered who the guy who felt like ice, was. She didn't know and for some reason that bothered her. Why would he try to leave with her and how come the tree reacted in defense to knock him down? She didn't have any clue, but, knew nature bended to her will, mostly her emotions.

Rouge looked up and over at Kitty when she spoke to her and gave a small nod saying "Not much. How's it going around here for you?" She took a bit of her sandwich and then asked "So are you the girl that helped take down Juggernuat?" she looked over at the girl sitting at the table with them. She kept eating and then took the drink Kitty had brought over her and said "Thanks". She knew that Kitty was really sweet and all, she was glad that the students had someone to go to and talk to if they needed it seeing that she knew she wasn't able to. Rouge had decided to just shut off her emotions so that she didn't get to close to anyone anymore so she wouldn't end up hurting them. Rouge opened the soda and took a sip while she waited for answers.

Trina nodded, grinning. She recovered the quickest when she spent time in other people's heads, but she appreciated Kurt's concern. She understood where it stemmed from. As someone who could teleport himself and others, the aftermath was always the hardest for the passengers, so Kurt was accustomed to checking in on their well being after a mind altering experience. She let herself be led into the shadows, half paying attention to the guards. At that moment, an engine fired. Another grin split Trina's face. Rogue was going home on Trina's bike. She would know that throaty rumble anywhere. Trina listened to the roar until it faded away and then she refocused her attention on the building before them.

"The guards are on a thirty-ten-twenty rotation." She whispered, checking her watch. "It's seven thirty, we're just in time for them to take their break. For the next ten minutes, the entrance will be vulnerable. The man in the security control room is currently checking the Met's game and eating a donut. His back is to the screens. Both guards will be going into that coffee shop next door for a restroom break and to top off their coffee. The second they enter, we will have forty five seconds, give or take, to make it inside and past the first bank of security cameras before the guard checks the screen to make sure his employees are taking their breaks." Trina kept her voice hushed, and pointed to an alcove, a blind spot on the cameras vision. "There, we can hide. We can either teleport there, or make it further into the building. If we decide to go further in, we will run the risk of the security officer checking the cameras, and not all of the ones we will be passing will have blind spots."

Just as Trina finished, the guards stood up, crossed the lobby, pushed the glass doors opened, and made their way to the coffee shop, ducking inside and leaving the MRD building open. "Show time." She said softly. "You can decide our next move once we're in the blind spot. But for now, we have to move." She grabbed his hand and keeping low, headed towards the doors. She hesitated, briefly, making sure the guards weren't going to suddenly dash out and find them. Bother were currently in the restroom, indisposed. She dashed out into the open and yanked the doors open, pulling Kurt inside and shutting the doors. She grabbed his hand again and ran full out, the alcove getting closer. She crashed into the marble wall, pulling Kurt in behind her just as the security guard, glanced at the screen. Satisfied that there was nothing happening, he went back the radio in front of him, grumbling about the latest call an umpire made. "Time's up. Teleport now, or see how much closer we can get?" She looked at Kurt, waiting for his answer. The guards were getting their coffees now, making small talk with the pretty clerk attending them. She checked her watch. Seven thirty five. Another minute or two, and they would be heading back. It was now or never.

"Eh same old, I'm watching the place while the others are out, I mean storm is in her room, and I forget where Beast went. Something to do with trying to figure something out." Kitty stated taking a drink of the cola for herself and man did Rose want her California sushi rolls right now.

"Yea, I'm Rose, though I prefer to be called Fleur. It didn't seem that hard to take the dude down" though she shouldn't have used up so much energy before she had fought him and then the tree had responded with it's own energy, her energy just brought it to life. Sad thing was, she walked a long time before the fight had started. "You are Rogue right? I love your name" Rose smiled.

"Wouldn't it had been easier to do that in the first place?" he asked with a small smile. He shook his head, and took her hand. The two vanish in a puff of smoke and a sudden rush. They appeared up in the labratory, out of the way of the lights, in the small corner where the cameras did not reach. He looked up at the lenses as they swerved from left to right slowly. "Have a plan B?" he asks, wondering what her plan for getting past the cameras was. He kept back in the shadows, but continued to watch the little red dots the cameras gave off to show they were in use. He looks at her for a moment, letting her body catch up with her as he waited for an answer. He was thinking they should have thought things through a bit better.

Trina paused for a minute, letting her body readjust. It was easier for her, since the recovery was similar to when she returned to her body after implanting or extracting in another person's head. Once she felt steady on her feet, she looked at Kurt, flashing him a grin, tapping her temple.

"It's more fun the other way. Besides, I'm going to tell him he isn't seeing us. The cameras only record if the guards see something of suspicion and hit the panic button." She pointed to the file room, where there were no cameras. "While we're in there, they can't see us except at certain angles. All I'm going to do is tell our little friend in the safety control room that he is seeing an empty room. He will look at the screens and see the lab as it is right now, and not sound the alarm. We're safe." She winked at him before closing her eyes.

This time was slightly different. The security guard wasn't placed in a "safe room", like Trina did with Kurt. He simply lost focus, day dreaming about nothing in particular, ensuring he wouldn't accidently glance at the cameras or notice the minor changes happening in his mind. You don't see anything out of the ordinary. She nudged mentally. All there is, is an empty room. See? Tonight is nothing new, just like every night. You know this, so you don't look at the screens as often. When you do, it will be as you expect. Empty. Uninhabited. She retreated, satisfied. Once they were done, they could teleport out right next to the car. The guards would never see them.

Trina turned to Kurt, jerking her chin in the direction of the small room at the back of the lab. "The coast is clear. Shall we get started, then?" She flashed him a confident smile and sauntered out to the middle of the room, right in view of the cameras. Laughing, she sent a little wave to one before continuing into the file room and flipping the light on. She opened a drawer labelled "Projects - Tech" and leafed through them. There were at least six other drawers like it, so they had a ways to go. "How 'bout you start at the other end and we'll work our way in? Whoever finds the file reads it while the other finds the file on the employee who created it. Good?"

Kurt shook his head at her confidence "cockiness killed the cat just as much as curiosity." He smiled and jumpped, landing easily on all fours on top of one of the cabinates, similar to how a monkey might land on a branch. His tail moved down, wrapping around the handle, opening it up. He slid out the first file looking at it. It was simply an upgrade to the cameras. "What about the recordings...wouldn't they be recording the footage going on in the rooms?" he asked as he closed it and set it back in the cabinate. He fingered through some of the other ones, but they were all on just minor upgrades around the office. He sighed, hopping down onto the floor so he could reach the lower levels of the cabinates. He glanced at the camera's, he was not one to be keen on the idea of being watched, and even if the guard saw nothing, it still gave him the chills at times.

He finished with the first, and slowly moved onto the second. This one was more packed then the one before it, and it was harder to simply finger through the files. He needed to pull each one out this time and look at the title labled across the top. Still minor adjustments, something told him this was going to take awhile. They would not have the important documents out where just anyone could sneak in and read or get them. That would be way to easy. There had to be something they were missing. As they worked, his eyes scanned over the walls. He paused when he came upon a picture hanging in the lab. Odd thing was, it was the only one. He closed the cabinate he had been working on, and moved over to the picture, slowly lifting it off the wall he smiled at the safe behind it. "Then again, sometimes curiosity helps the cat" he says, turning back to look at her.

Trina shook her head, still scanning files. "They only record if the panic button is hit. We don't have to worry about someone going back into the memory and spotting us." Nothing in this drawer was interesting, so she closed it and moved to the next one. She doubted anything would be of use here, but she didn't think it would be a bad idea to at least look. The next drawer was schematics for new smart detectors for homes, able to detect trace amounts of carbon monoxide, smoke, and intruders and things of the like. Just as she was beginning to despair, Kurt plucked a picture from the wall and revealed a hidden safe. "Oh God Bless you, man." Trina almost jumped for joy. She went and stood in front of the unassuming black box in the wall, examining it. "How good are you at safe cracking? Or do you want me to just pop it open?" She smiled.

Saika Konohaku
A.K.A Shinigami

Saika sat in the park. He had his headohones up, and he did not care that darkness had set in at all. It was a beautiful night out, and night was his favorite time of the day. He placed a hand over his left headphone and slowly stood from the bench he had been sitting on. He turned away and slowly began to make his way towards the entrance of the park. A few couples were out, but he paid no mind to them at all. He wasn't into the whole idea of couples, they were only a nuisence in his mind. He sighed, shaking his head as he closed his eyes. He fixed his scarf so it covered the long energy lines under his eyes, which made him look like he was permanently crying. His parents usually had him wear a surgical mask, saying he was highly allergic to many things.

They were origionally from Japan, and his father was not exactly in the most decent line of work. He sighed, shaking his head, to be blunt his father was sort of a mob boss there. He was in charge of a group named the Black Samurai, they were in deals at times with the Silver Samurai, who was not the nicest man in his opinion. He paused for a moment at the entrance and looked up at the sky. The stars clear overhead, as well as the moon. He couldn't see things like this back home, he was barley ever able to go out due to the buisiness. When he did, he always had guards around. His father was very suspicious of people. He did not think any of his father's enemies would come here, but then again he could always handle himself. His father forbid him to use his powers though, since he did not understand them.

Saika had been training to use his powers, but at times they still overloaded him. Energy was power, and power, was a dangerous thing. His father would have chided him, and said power was everything, but not to him. He was expected to take over the family buisiness someday, though he was not looking forward to that at all. He would have rather found a nice place to live where he could be in peace. He slipped his headphones off, looking at his watch. If he did not get home soon, his father would most likely send the guards out after him. He did not need that, nor did others in the city. He turned away, and slowly began to make his way down the street towards where he could easilly call for a ride home without innocent people overhearing him get yelled at.

"It should not be that hard" he says looking at the key pad "then again, we do not work here, so the code is a little out of our league." He turned to her, not thinking that 'popping it open' was a good idea either, the safe could hold an alarm its own, or if any damage came to it, then that would not be good either. It was risky, and he was unsure really what to tell her. If what they needed was inside though, then they had to open it somehow. This was a risky thing they were doing already, and now breaking into a safe. They would have been called theives, but this was for the right reasons..right. He sighed and closed his eyes, saying a mental prayer to himself in german, before nodding to her. "Alright, it is now or never so...be my guest" he stepped aside to let her break in.

Trina stepped up, mentally scanning for any numbers she may have seen that might stand out to her. None came. Okay, she was going to have to do this the hard way. She had only done this once, and barely managed to finish without screwing things up. Energy tracking was a new element to her abilities and she was still finding her limits. It would be best if she had Professor X coaching her, but she had to do this by herself at some point. She may as well she if she was any good now.

She took a deep breath and centered herself, allowing the world to slip away. If front of her, was the safe. She focused on the keypad, zeroing in on the energy left over from when it was last used. Thankfully, it was fairly recent since it was last opened, so the energy "marks" were easier to spot. Slowly, small, translucent purple "smudges" seemed to glow on the keypad. Kurt wouldn't be able to see anything, since his abilities don't deal with energy. This was a fluke ability Trina discovered by accident.

At last, the numbers used in the combination became apparent. "We have a... 3.. 6.. 8.. 1.. and... 5. Okay." Trina punched in the numbers in that order and was met with nothing. Instinctively, she knew she had two more chances before it would lock up and require a special separate code to reset, and from what she could tell, that had never happened. She entered in 15863. Silence again. One more try or the jig was up. Trina took another minute, rearranging the numbers, testing relevant sequences. June third, eighty five was when MRD was founded. 6385, so the 1 must be a user designation code. It seems only one person enters the code, but did the one go before or after the code? She thought it through. If she were signing on to a database somewhere, it would require her user identification before she would enter the code, so the one must go before.

"I think I got it." She murmured. Trina hesitated, thinking a little bit more before entering in 16385. For a split second, she worried if she had gotten the numbers wrong, but the door popped open with a slight sucking sound. "Eureka!" She said sarcastically, and stepped back. "Will you do the honors?"

He slowly swung open the safe door, opening it to look what was inside. When he saw the files he smiled, slipping them out of the safe. It did not seem dangerous, and they had open it safely, so all was well for now. He looked over at his companion and handed her half of the stack. "Back to the looking part" he says, sitting his pile down on one of the tables. He opened up the first file, these ones were on people now rather then upgrades and things. They would be more useful to them then the other ones were. He began looking through them, searching for any signs of a robot thing that they might have seen back at the manor. He accidentally knocks one off, it falls to the floor, and a picture of avias slips off of the clip at the top, sticking out. He bends down, picking it up slowly. "Isn't this the guy from before?" he asks "the one you spoke to."

"Yes." She took the file from his hand and opened it. Avias' job description was that of local whipping boy. He had nothing to do with the inventions and various testing that occurred in the lab. "Why is his picture in with the rest of them? All of these are scientists tasked with different inventions or testing. Avias files paperwork, faxes, answers phones and so on. Or so this file says. Yet he is in with the big guns. This can't be coincidence." Trina leafed through the background info on Avias, and suddenly, schematics for the orb was in front of her. She looked up at Kurt, jaw dropped. She turned the page again, and instead of schematics, there was detailed descriptions, with Avias listed as head developer of the little machine. The orb was an AI, able to use x-rays to examine mutants, determine their abilities and threat levels and compile further data on them. This was just as Trina had suspected. This little piece of technology had extremely private information on Trina and Kurt, as well as the young nature mutant. Should the Brotherhood or Purifiers get their hands on this and decrypt it, the X-Men would find themselves under attacks like they had never seen the likes of before.

Trina looked up at Kurt, finger tapping Avias' name next to the title of head developer. "It seems there is much more to Mister Avias Styx than we had thought. Shall we pay him a visit tonight?"

He had moved to her side, looking at the file. "If you want to, it is better to get out of here as soon as possible" he says. He pointed to an adress at the top of the page with information on him. He also looked at the more detailed part of his internship. He was a technical specialist, who was here to help with advancements as well as help the scientists. At so young he was already taking college level courses and majoring in science and technology. It seemed he was a prodigy in this field, but nothing was said about his parents other then who they were and their adress. It seemed Avias was living on his own. "I wonder why" he says "important family, money, power...why leave to be on your own?" He was curious, there was a lot of interesting information in the file.

Trina bit her lip, thinking. "Should we make copies and take this back to the mansion so we can have him looked over further? I have a sneaking suspicion he is a closet mutant. Earlier, I tried psychologically convincing him, but he was impervious. The only people able to resist, are mutants, because of their genetic and psychological make up." She leafed through the pages a bit more, trying to figure out the mysterious intern. "If he is one, you know we have to offer him a place at the mansion, right? It's up up him to accept, but we need to make him aware of the kind of work he is doing and how dangerous it is." She swiveled out of her chair and stood up, taking the file with her. "But first, should we make a copy, or leave now?"

"Both" he says, his tail swaying a bit. He took the papers, carefully making sure to leave no evidence as he made a quick copy, and folded them up, handing them to her. "Shall we?" he says, placing the files back in their origional place. He closes the door to the safe and puts the picture over it. He turns to her, taking her hand. They had spent enough time inside as they could, he teleported them out, and soon back to the car out of sight of the guards. He was glad to be out of there, and he hoped that they would not have to deal with if the MRD found out about their little break in. Right now that was a horrible thing. He looked her over, waiting for her to regain her bounds, before moving to the door of the car. He hoped she would be a bit more of a careful driver now, but he highly doubted that as well. It was late, so he guessed this guy would most likely be in bed asleep.

Trina opened her eyes once she didn't feel like she would fall over. She beeped the car open and climbed in, waiting for Kurt to get settled. She spread the papers out on the steering wheel, scanning through once more. As soon as Kurt was in the car, she faced him. "Avias lives on Wheeling Street, about twenty blocks south. As much as I'd love to pay him a visit, chances are he is fast asleep. Shall we make our social call before or after work tomorrow? Up to you."

Trina cranked the engine over and executed a perfect u-turn one-handed. She drove safer this time, since nothing required immediate attention. Trina only drove like a bat out of hell when there was an emergency. Since the crisis was over, she only drove thirty above the speed limit, instead of fifty. Kurt would probably disapprove, but it was a beautiful car and should be driven accordingly, as far as Trina was concerned. "So what do you make of all of this." She waved her hand at the papers for clarification. "Do you think they know he's a mutant, or do you think they think they've hit the lottery with a certifiable genius that they don't have to pay? I'm leaning toward the latter."

Trina checked her mirrors, flipped her turn signal on and smoothly changed lanes. She sped past a small sedan and eased back into the other lane, narrowly missing a cargo van's right rear bumper. Though Trina seemed unruffled by their close call, it probably scared the living daylights out of Kurt, as he liked to travel by himself in a far more safer manner. Trina found it amusing when Kurt would clutch the 'oh shit' handle, eyes squeezed shut, muttering 'Oh. Gott hilf mir, bitte.' The poor man probably wanted to strangle her for every close call they'd had all the way back to the mansion, and Trina probably deserved it. But, damn, that car was fun to drive.

Kurt nodded a bit at the thought that the guy would be asleep by now. When she asked about when he would like to pay a visit. "We should wait till he gets off" when she continued to ask about his potential being a mutant he sighed. "We do not know for sure of anything, we will have to take it one step at a time" he smiles a bit and nods. "Shall we get some rest for tomorrow then?" he asked, sitting back in the seat. He wondered what events tomorrow would hold now for the two. They would have to let the others know, but it was a bit hard to think that they would just be alright with it. They would have to be careful with this one. They were playing a risky game already, and they could not afford to mess any of this up. They knew what they were doing though, and he was glad about that.

Rouge looked at Kitty and shrugged saying “Everyone’s always doing something”. She took a sip from her pop and looked over at Rose when she introduced herself and nodded saying “Nice too meet you Fleur, and at least her wasn’t causing too much destruction then.” She looked over at Kitty then back at the girl when she heard her mention her name and said “Umm, thanks.” She didn’t really know what to say no one really said that to her before. She finished her pop then asked “So, are you going to stay here at the institute? Or are you already living some place around here?” She looked over at Kitty then said “Because I am sure Kitty would love to show you around and assign you a room.” She smiled at Kitty and then looked back at Rose, besides Kitty was definitely better at being a people person.

Trina put her hand on Kurt's shoulder, catching his attention. "I know I joke around alot," She started. "But I take this very seriously. The last thing I want is Avias getting hurt, mutant or not. I took this job, knowing I would have to protect people every single day, and I intent to do just that." She dropped her hand, and the car grew silent for a while before she spoke up again. "My biggest worry is that we fail. But I have faith in our abilities. I know we can do this. I won't screw this up, Kurt. I promise." She abruptly opened the door and got out, heading for the door leading into the mansion. Once inside, she headed for the kitchen instead of her room. She was famished.

Trina breezed in, noticing Kitty and Anna. "Hey Kitty! Sup, Anna? You like my ride, or what?" Trina grinned. She opened the fridge and ducked down. She plucked a soda out, popped it open and took a long drink. Turning around, she noticed the nature mutant from their Juggernaut tussle earlier sitting at the table. "Hey nature chick, you're up!" She sauntered over and stuck her hand out. "Thanks for earlier. You saved our asses. I'm Katrina, by the way. Katrina Weston, but you can call me Katrina, Trina or Dark Raven. You got a name I can call you besides nature chick?" Trina winked at the girl. Damn, she was young, not older than eighteen at the most. But she had restrained Juggernaut, a feat very few mutants can boast accomplishing. Trina was impressed. She leaned her hip against the table and took another long swig of her soda, letting the girl absorb Trina's friendly introduction. A lot of people were put off by her confidence, but that's just how she was. It was better than how she used to be, closed off and moody all the time.

Avias woke up from his sleep with Orbie bouncing on his chest. He had fallen asleep on the couch, sitting up and placing a hand to his head. "Nnn...was I out long?" he looked at the clock, it was almost midnight. Orbie hopped back over to the TV remote, and pointed with one of his wings at a news cast of what had happened with Juggernaut. Avias sighed and watched as the X-Men took him down. He thought about all of the events, they had been to close for comfort as far as he was concerned. He sighed, and slowly stood. Stratching, he removed his glasses, wiping them off. The thought of a nice cup of coffee passed through his mind. There was only one place that made a good cup, and that was down town. He didn't mind, it was late so few people woud be out at the moment. He picked up his keys, and turned to go. Orbie chirped, and looked up at him, wanting to go as well. He knew it was a bad idea, but leaving him home alone was worse. Picking up the robot, he stepped out of his appartment, and made his way to his car. It was not a bad drive, Orbie managed to turn on the radio, and was makeshift dancing. Avias couldn't help but laugh as he watched the little robot. Shaking his head, he pulled off onto the main rhoads, and drove to the shop he had been thinking about. Orbie rolled into his ball, and Avias placed him into his pocket, taking him inside as he made his way to the counter. He ordered a nice mocha, and made his way to a small table by the door.
