I know. The Dutch are their own thing. Sometimes the Netherlands gets grouped into the Scandinavian nations esp. for those in the US. But It's traditionally Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway. Yes?

Yeah, that's how I learned it.

I like to think I know more than the typical American, but we are woefully ignorant about the world.

Think a lot Americans get the whole concept of "Dutch" and "Danish" confused.

But Danes are from Denmark, and Dutch are Netherlands...

I blame the American Education System. :U

It sucks at everything else so why not blame it. (It's not the teacher's faults, we have fabulous teachers)

That's only those who don't think Dutch is a fancy word for Germans, though. XD

Well I grew up with the Pennsylvania Dutch and most of them are German descent so I can see how that confusion could set in.

...I'm from New Jersey. :P

I lived there last year! out side of AC.

Oh, fancy! I've never been to AC, but I don't really live too close. I've always lived really close to NYC, though!

Only time I've been near NYC was to see Electric Six play in Hoboken.

Maybe long will know Flemington and Princeton and all that then.

That, and the fact that the word Dutch is derived from Diets, which is basically middle-ages Dutch for Dutch but in a time when the division between Dutch and German was not quite as clear. XD
