Hook stretched out a bit and settled, not minding the tattoo visible on his skin. He didn't talk about Milah, and he didn't expect her to be brought up now, anyway.

Katie blinked as she watched the sheriff come in for a cup of coffee. He was kind of good-looking, actually. Not that she'd do anything; she was just kind of appreciating the view over her own cup of coffee.

Lotus stretched out as well, draped half across him.

"Well don't you look comfortable," she teased.

Graham settled at the counter with his coffee, just enjoying the warmth of it for a moment before he took a sip. Ahhh, he did enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Hook chuckled. "I usually am," he said, lazily rubbing one hand up and down her spine.

Katie smiled a bit and looked back at her own coffee. Maybe tonight she'd actually work up the courage to talk to him...

Lotus practically purred at that, relaxing. Idly, she traced the ink on his arm.

"You know, I don't think I ever got the story behind this," she commented.

Graham happened to glance around, and he noticed her watching him. He gave a brief grin in greeting before turning his attention back to his coffee for the moment.

"Hmm?" Hook blinked, looking down at her. "Behind what, love?" Because while he knew what she was touching, he really wanted to be sure.

Katie blushed a bit at that but smiled in return. After a few minutes, she moved down the bar and picked a stool nearer his, with one in between the two, in case he wanted her to leave.

"Decided coffee was necessary?"

"This name," Lotus said, tracing the letters again. She tested the name, feeling the unfamiliar combination of sounds on her tongue. "Milah."

"Recently, coffee always seems to be necessary," Graham replied with a small grin.

"Ah. Milah." Hook was quiet for a moment. "She was long ago."

Katie chuckled. "That's true, coffee is pretty much necessary to life." She grinned a bit at him.

"I see." Lotus looked at him for a moment. "Who was she?"

"Indeed it is," Graham replied. "It's something I'll definitely miss, if we ever get back home."

"She was my lover, for a while. She traveled with me." Hook shrugged. "But she's gone, now. She was killed."

"I know how you feel," Katie agreed. She was quiet for a moment. "If we ever go back. I don't know if we will. I'm not entirely sure I want to."

"Seems like she was a little more than just a lover, to still have her name on you," Lotus observed evenly.

"I'm a bit torn," Graham admitted. "I miss my old life, but this one is rather nice, too."

Hook shrugged. "She was important to me, when I had her," he said, his voice just as even. "But, as I said, she's gone."

"Yeah. I didn't have much, before, so this is easier. A bit nicer." Katie shrugged and then grinned. "The conversation is certainly better."

Lotus studied his face for a few seconds.

"You still love her," she said. It wasn't a question.

"I'll bet," Graham said, grinning a bit. "Though I've noticed most people seem intent on going back. Can't say I blame them."

Hook was quiet for several moments. "I suppose she will always have a place in my heart," he agreed cautiously.

Katie nodded. "I don't blame them either. I just don't think I'm one of them. Not right now, anyway."

"I see," Lotus said again. She slipped from his embrace, getting up. "I think I need to go for a swim." Without waiting for a reply, she headed towards the water, stripping down as she went.

"Neither am I," Graham replied. He smiled at her. "My name is Graham, by the way."

Hook blinked at that, because, what? What the hell had just happened there? He debated for a moment just letting her go, and then he shook himself and got up.

"What's going on?" he asked, making his way down to the water.

"Katie." She smiled a bit at him. "I'm not distracting you from Sheriff-ing or anything am I?"

"Nothing," Lotus said, her voice still cool. "I just don't particularly feel like competing with a dead woman right now, that's all."

"Not at all," Graham said with a small smile. "I needed some time out of the station."

"What? Competing?" Hook shook his head. "Love, you're not competing with anyone."

"I imagine that happens sometimes," Katie said with a little smile.

"Aren't I?" Lotus asked, raising an eyebrow. "It certainly isn't my name on your arm, although I'll let you have that one since you say it was a long time ago. But I'm not one to be content sharing affection."

"More often than people think," Graham said, nodding. "It's rather lonely at the station sometimes."

"How are you sharing affection? There isn't anyone else around, Milah was a long time ago, there's no chance she's ever coming back. You're not sharing." Hook frowned at her.

"Makes sense, you're the only person there, I don't imagine you have people in all that often." Katie shrugged. "Makes sense to me."

"I'm still sharing with her memory," Lotus pointed out. She stepped out into the water, and shimmering scales immediately began to flow down her legs. "I'm going for a swim."

"I've considered a K-9 unit," Graham admitted with a bit of a grin. "It would make things feel a bit more like the other world."

"How the hell is that sharing?" Hook asked, frustrated and confused, because it made no sense whatsoever.

"Yeah, I bet. Besides, animals are good company. You should definitely go for that, if you're going to stay here." Katie smiled a bit.

"Because you're not completely mine," Lotus replied. With that, she slipped into the water completely, swimming out into some of the deeper parts of the 'shallows' to brood for a while.

"I'm not sure if I'm going to stay here or not," Graham pointed out. "For all I know, everyone will be sent back once the curse finally dissolves."

Hook growled at that and headed back up again, because she was making no sense. How was she sharing him? Milah was nothing more than a memory, now. Sometimes he really did not understand women.

"I don't think anyone really knows what's going to happen," Katie agreed. "Probably best to just kind of wait for a bit."

Lotus stayed out for a while, until she'd finally calmed down again and thought some things through. Then she made her way back towards the beach she'd left Killian on.

"Right," Graham said. "May as well just keep doing my job like I have been so far, until then."

Hook hadn't settled down, instead getting some work done, and mulling over her weird behavior in between working. Because she was being very, very strange, and he did not appreciate it.

"Right, exactly." Katie shrugged. "I guess we'll find out what happens next."
