Winter can be as lovely as the spring and summer, but those interims are what make each season more tolerable. It's not as romantic to live in a place that's considered an arctic desert for nine months of the year. A white Christmas is just expected, not really sung about.

I am always happy if it is WHITE christmas, expected or not.
