I like to let the plot build itself in some ways, but also like having something to plan towards. Ie, city getting attacked or whatever. Mainly so it cant stagnate.

her general reason to be in a human city is shes always after new books on the magic arts, trinkets and the like. Which usually ends up with her in the palaces as thats where dangerous artifacts are held..
