Welcome people!

To my little progress thread of my first TRUE costume making project.
Here I'll post pictures of my cosplay of my avatar.
Yes, you read that right. I'm going to cosplay my Menewshan avatar!

So these little beauties are my inspiration:


There are some parts I'll make from scratch and a few things are pre-bought. Such as the boots. For that I'm going to use my own leather ridingboots, for the trousers I'm going to use an older pair of pants or buy something like a skinny jeans and I might slightly modify a pre-bought corset.

Right now I'm debating what to do with the sleeves and cuffs...

I'ma be watching this. :3 I wish I was handy enough to make outfits, so instead I'll watch you be handy.

We can be Jack's cheer section.
All I sew anymore is buttons back onto coats/shirts. xD

Hmm... poof-y sleeves at the shoulder might be a little tricky but if you find a pattern for them they look pretty cool. Honestly you could make your sleeves capable of creating both of the looks you have posted with buttons.

I was thinking of going for a more military look of the jacket, simply because that's easier to make. The only thing now is: will I make them come to my wrist, or should I do 3/4 sleeves and what to do with the cuffs...

They are equally easy. So that isn't really the thing. And I am willing to go that extra mile to make it look superduperawesome.

I like that "superduperawesome" is one word. :3

^_^ I bet your cosplay is going to be way beyond awesome.

I wish I could sew. :( Most I do is fix holes in pants and shirts.

My wig has arrived. The color is a bit off (it's WAY too bright, but hey, it was just €10, I cannot complain.) I shall make pictures when I have it completely styled and everything. I then shall also post pictures of my ridingboots. Just so you know what they will look like. =)

UPDATE: I am so sorry I didn't update any sooner than this. But the photo's will be in shortly. A day or 2 tops.
So you'll see the finished product!
