Idea Borrowed From A Failed Tumblr RP {that no longer has a page, unfortunately}.

It was 2016 when President Harrow was elected to office, having promised to bring unity to the citizens of America. He said that before tackling other issues, he would solve the problem that plauged the American People. It was never exactly clear what that was, so people just assumed.

It is now 2034 and the people finally know what he was going to use to unite the citizens of the United States.

Fear.

President Harrow has stayed in office past the two allotted terms and absorbed the powers of the entire government and now has total control of America and power is growing. He now is deep into taking over Mexico and is weaving his way into Canada. And there is no one to stop him.

Anyone that opposes the President faces severe consequences; including enslavement, torture, and sometimes death. And even when only one person opposes him, their entire family is blacklisted and put into danger.

And those who show support? Well, they are rewarded greatly. Riches and a blind eye from the government. Sometimes. However, if you slip up and show yourself as a liar to anyone… well, you’re dead before you know it. No escaping when caught in a lie.

In eighteen years, people have gotten good at lying. But some got sick of it. A rebel army is growing just under President Harrow’s feet. The growing number of missing persons has the President preparing for an attack at any moment. The underground rebellion force, or Pylae (Latin for hope), works day in and day out. Their forces grow in number as well as the advancements in technology and weaponry.

There are four main subcategories in the Pylae Army.

The first is a Tinker. A Tinker is a scientist, working with the information they are given about Harrow’s world and trying to keep up with their advancement and even surpass. They are on the brink of being able to inject their solders with certain DNA reconfigurations to give them an edge in the upcoming war.

The second is a Tailor. Tailors are manufacturers. They produce anything and everything the Pylae needs from guns to clothing to food. They have found ways to farm and produce everything with the supplies that are given to them.

The third the Soldiers. These are not men and women who are forced to fight. They want to fight against President Harrow and his troops. They train day in and day out and are prepared at any second to attack to defend. Some of the sharpest and quickest minds are soldiers when they could be tinkers or spies. But most had their parents killed by the enemy. And they want revenge.

The final category is Spies. Spies are the quickest, silent, and most deadly of any group in the Pylae. And they are put in the most danger. They are sent above ground once every two weeks in groups to retrieve information on the progressing science and must take prisoners for interrogation, along with remembering everything they saw while above ground. Survival rate is thirty-seven percent.

A war is coming and the rebellion is prepared. Are you?

United, they stand.
Divided, they fall.

The Characters

Palmer Bodary || Tinker || 22 || Heterosexual || FC: Nicholas Hoult || TAKEN

Palmer was born into science. His father was head of the research division for Pylae and, when he died of heart complications, left all of his research to Palmer. He is just as smart as his father was, if not smarter, and has advanced the research so quickly that he has be able to successfully modify DNA coding in humans so that there is some kind of mutation.

He spent years creating the perfect serums for this kind of change and has determined that the process will take a full week. He has a list of Pylae soldiers willing to be the first to try and has promise to keep them under full sedation the entire week so as they are unable to feel anything. If this works, Palmer will be held in the highest regard within the army and will probably be known as the person who helped win the war and defeated Harrow by giving Pylae the edge.

He’s perfected the serum as best as he could without testing it on humans. He didn’t want to do it until it was perfect. He’s pretty sure it will work, but he is worried as hell it won’t. That why he made sure the first person had no connections or relations. He need this so that the first person to go through this experience would not back out at the risks. He made sure that the Pylae army chose the right person. And they did. Palmer is beyond ready for Ana to chose which mutation she wants and so he can get this started.

“This better work…”

Other Tinkers: Felton Warner, Alia Novara
Patient: Ana X
Fellow Geniuses: Guy Meyer

Alia Novara || Tinker || 23 || Bisexual || FC: Amber Heard || OPEN

Alia is one of the few that was born in Vis. Everyone saw her as just a pretty face and never expected her to be smart or be a part of the Pylae. So when she took the placement test and passed with flying colors to be a tinker. She opted to be the person to create weapons. She has an affinity for mechanics and how things like weapons work. And she like making advances in the area.

Despite being great at what she does, her male counterparts make fun of her to no end. They still see her as just the pretty face and are waiting for her just to screw up. But she is determined to prove them otherwise. Of course, she does have a pretty face but she hates that is all anybody ever sees and not the fact that she spends her day creating the weapons that would help them win the war. And not just guns, but bombs and armor for the Pylae as well.

Alia is worried about the upcoming war. Everyone is preparing for the war to be above ground. Alia seems to be the only one who believes that maybe Harrow’s Army will find Vis and attack them. And there is no way Vis is prepared to handle a war. But no one else seems to agree with her. But it worries her if she end up being right.

“People need to get their freaking heads out of their asses and think about every possibility.”

Other Tinkers: Felton Warner, Palmer Bodary

Felton Warner || Tinker || 21 || Homosexual || FC: Garrett Hedlund || TAKEN

Felton doesn’t remember much of his life above ground, as his parents took him and escaped when he was younger. He grew up in Vis, running around the streets with his friends, pretending that the war had started and pretending their fingers were guns. That was his life, not knowing the extent of what was really going on. It was only in his later years of school did he finally understand what was happening when his friends started to enlist. Felton knew he was smart, and good at science, so he took the test to become a Tinker and passed. He joined the Pylae when he was nineteen.

Felton studied under the doctors in the hospital, essentially cramming a bunch of medical information into his brain to become a doctor for the Pylae. Felton is one of the most trained and skilled people on the force. Aside from being the guy who has the drugs and fixes the injuries, he is one of the only guys who has also trained with the soldiers in case they need him on a mission. He’s strong, stealth, one of the smartest guys and they need him. He trains soldiers to be medics so they can get soldiers back to Vis alive and Felton can save them.

However, there are so few soldiers who are trained for medics and the generals are unsure if it will even be possible to get soldiers back to Vis once the war starts. So, the asked if Felton would be willing to go to war so he could be above ground and help the injured soldiers. Scared as hell, Felton agreed. He doesn’t want to go to war. He doesn’t want to risk his life when there are so few doctors in Vis that could help. But he’ll have to do what he has to, despite the fear.

“I know way too much for my own good.”

Patients: Korey Hynson, Tomika Justus, Ana X
Fellow Geniuses: Palmer Bodary, Guy Meyer

Tomika “Tom” Justus || Soldier || 24 || Homosexual || FC: Mila Kunis || OPEN

Tomika, much better known as Tom, lived in Harrow’s world. She was blissful and ignorant to what was going on around her. She happily played in the streets with other kids. That is up until her and her father were captured and taken in and her mother killed.

Tom was electrocuted, burned, and forced under water until she passed out and the revived just to do it all over again. They did all of this in front of her father, as Harrow’s forces believed he knew where the entrance to Vis was and used Tomika as bait. She went through this until she was nineteen when a team of Pylae spies and soldiers rescued her, taking her back to Vis along with her father.

She spent about three years under close watch so as she could be restored to better mental health. Once she was cleared, she joined the army. Close with her leader, Christofer, the two shared the same sight on how to deal with Harrow’s Army. Destroy them. She wanted revenge on her captors. She wanted to make them suffer like she had. She wanted revenge.

“I won’t rest until they burn.”

Fellow Soldiers: Christofer Araneo, Ana X
The Doctor: Felton Warner

Christofer Araneo || Soldier || 23 || Heterosexual || FC: Chris Hemsworth || TAKEN

Christofer’s family was one of the first to rebel, starting with his grandfather. He was one of the first children to be born in Vis and the first of the second generation of soldiers to enlist. All his life he wanted nothing more than to fight for the cause. He worked day in and day out before his eighteenth birthday to become strong enough for the Pylae, lifting weights and running through the city unti it felt like his muscles were about to burst.

He wasn’t smart enough to be a tinker or tailor and wasn’t quick or quiet enough to be a spy. So, once he enlisted, he quickly climbed the ranks as a soldier. He is now qualified to train new enlistments and will be in the first wave of attacks once the war starts. People look up to him and it’s expected that he will be the one to lead everyone into the war against Harrow. And he is honored to be thought of that way.

Other than being a soldier, he has another reason to fight. When he was younger, he had a brother. They two of them wanted to see what life was like above ground, so they went to the entrance of Vis. They wandered outside the city a little bit too far and his brother was captured, but Christofer escaped. He is sure that his brother is still alive, being tortured or worse and he wants to find him and bring him home. Christofer feels guilty for what happened to his younger brother and uses comedy as a way to hide that around others. But nothing can push away the nightmares he has when he sleeps about what might be happening to his brother.

“I won’t let anyone else I care about suffer. I will end this.”

Fellow Soldiers: Ana X, Tomika Justus

Ana X || Soldier || 20 || Heterosexual || FC: Katie Cassidy || TAKEN

The story of Ana is a mystery. No one has any idea what happened to her or where she came from or who her parents are. She was found roaming the sewers close to the entrance of Vis by a group of Spys. They offered to take her back with them, and she resisted for a very long time, even though she was scared and alone at the age of four. After some convincing, she went with the spies, falling asleep in one of their arms as they walked back to Vis.

From then on, she lived on the Pylae base in a room intended for a general. She didn’t want to be adopted and she didn’t want to belong to anybody. She kept to herself most of the time, but when she talked, she had a sharp tounge and a quick wit. She wasn’t about to take crap from anybody and the soldiers on base knew that and kept out of her way.

When Ana turned eighteen, she was approached by one of the upper levels of the army for a project. Due to her lifestyle of being detached from pretty much everyone and not having any real friends, just acquaintances, they asked her to not only become a soldier, but to be a part of the project to change her DNA slightly to basically give her a mutation. She can choose the mutation, as they have a few to choose from. She agreed and, now that her training as a soldier is over, it’s time to start the process to get her DNA changed. And, to be honest, she’s actually pretty stoked to be the first of the new kind of soldier.

“I’m Project X. Hence the initial.”

The Scientest Changing Her DNA: Palmer Bodary

Guy Meyer || Spy || 20 || Bisexual || FC: Gaspard Ulliel || OPEN

Guy was born into a rich, aristocratic family. They lived in the utopian part of America. Guy was definitely not oblivious to the rejected and underserved members lying just outside the gates of their community. While is family supported President Harrow, Guy schemed to destroy as much as he could of the government from the inside out.

As an actual, medically declared genius, Guy became part of what once was the Secret Service, but was now just the control and planning center for Harrow. He worked his way up in the ranks and got close to President Harrow, becoming a part of his personal team. He helped to plan missions and attacks and knew all sorts of important details about the government as well as memorizing codes and the systems along with the blue prints of many government buildings.

He planned for years his escape to Vis, making contacts of the rebellion to help him on the day. He stole important copied info, and disappeared from the face of the earth without notice, having burned his house so there would be no trace of any kind of evidence left behind and went directly to the underground city. He wasted no time in getting the stolen information to the Pylae and it was suggested to him to train to be a spy, saying they could use him to get more information like the kind he had stolen. It took him a while to train. But with some help, he become good enough and they put him into the group with Captian Hynson and Kali Ayres. He isn’t quite as sharp or as skilled as they are, but no one in the force is as good as he is at hacking into the government systems.

“I’m their worst enemy. I know everything and they won’t have time to fix it before I destroy them.”

Team Members: Korey Hynson, Kali Ayres
Fellow Geniuses: Felton Warner, Palmer Bodary

Kali Ayres || Spy || 19 || Bisexual || FC: Sofia Black D’Elia || OPEN

Like most of the spies in the Pylae Army, Kali also once lived in the Harrow’s America. She was captured when she was young along with the rest of her family. As far as she knows, her mother was killed and she believes her father was as well. She was tortured for two straight years in front of her father, trying to get information out of him as to where the entrance of Vis was because they believed he knew. During an interrogation, she was able to escape thanks to what she believes was a group of Pylae spies. They had masks, but led her to Vis for protection. Once there, she spent weeks in the hospital being treated for her burns and other injuries left by her captors.

Once she was better, a need for revenge overtook her and she enlisted as a spy, knowing they go up to the surface more than anyone and she would have more chances to get the revenge that she wanted. She is one of the only girls in the spy division and definitely one of the youngest in the entire army. People see her as weak. But she is anything but that.

She trained hard, becoming skilled in handling pretty much any weapon as well as avoiding any obsticles that get in her way. She small and light, making things a little easier for her that her male counterparts. Not to mention, the control she has other her body. Every movement is precise. She was put under Captian Hynson’s command in the deadliest group in the spy division. Her job on their missions is to distract. She poses under cover as a citizen and distracts anyone she needs to so her team members can get through undetected. She is put in the most danger because if anyone realizes she is a member of Pylae, she has more than just one person to deal with. She could have an entire mob of Harrow’s men chasing her through the streets. There is a rule within the spies. If anyone falls behind, they get left behind. But Kali doesn’t abide to this rule. Actually, neither do her group members. She would die before she left one of them to rot in that world.

“No one gets away with hurting me. And no one that cares for me will get hurt.”

Team Members: Korey Hynson, Guy Meyer

Korey Hynson || Spy || 22 || Heterosexual || FC: Harry Shum Jr. || TAKEN

Korey was born in Harrow’s America. His family had never show support for Harrow, but never dared to oppose him. At least not publicly and rarely even within the four walls of their home. They knew that everyone was watched closely, especially those that never spoke of the President.WIth that in mind, Korey learned to sneak around the city undetected at an early age. He got so good that he could get to the top of two story houses without an issue and could even get into some buildings without issue.

As he grew older, he joined what could only be considered a rogue gang. They weren’t a part of the Pylae but they outwardly hated Harrow. They caused havoc, sneaking into government buildings at night to destroy anything they could get their hands on. A few would even kill member’s of Harrow’s army with their bare hands. But they weren’t careful about their actions. The government was quick to act on capturing them and their families. Korey was able to evade them for a few days before returning home to get his family. Only to come hom to an empty house, the living room wall with gunshot holes and bloodstained. He packed a single bookbag and went to the sewers, a modern day underground tunnel, and eventually found the entrance to Vis.

Korey was seventeen when he arrived in the underground city. He was closed off and bitter after finding out about the death of his family and unwilling to let anyone help him. Despite being for the cause, he didn’t trust anyone for a few years. It wasn’t until he turned twenty and one of the generals of the Pylae approached him. He was informed that they had been keeping a close eye on him since he arrived. So close, that they had seen him steal food and clothing, break into peoples houses without a sound, and knew exactly how far he could jump and how well he could scale walls. It took a lot of convincing, but he finally joined the force of the Pylae Army in the Spy division. He trained with professionals, honing his skills. And two years later, he is now the captain of his own group containing himself and two others. The three of them are the sharpest in the force and go on more missions than anyone. Korey considers them his family, as he cares just as much for the two of them as he did his own family.

“They didn’t catch me then and they sure as hell aren’t going to catch me now. I can promise you that.”

Her father was brutally murdered by people who were, honestly, no better than the president. She became blindly devoted to the president from that day on, seeing everything as black and white.

Kendra is an amazing detective and a stunningly attractive woman. She is not afraid to use men to manipulate and turn a situation in her favor by sleeping with the right guy. They have everything they could ever want, except the cure for Idiris's partial blindness. Born with a corneal disease in both her eyes, Idiris is completely blind in her left and gradually losing her vision in her right eye. The surgery she needs hasn't been done due to the amount of doctors needed in the war effort. Anyone capable of curing her is otherwise occupied. In order to have her vision corrected, Idiris and her family hope for a quick smite of the rebels.

Unbeknown to hold any times, especially to the public; it is uncommon knowledge that Edward is President Harrow's adopted son. He had taken on the surname of 'Osborne' to help safeguard his true identity just a little further. Life under Harrow has never been an easy task though as some would think. As a young boy he was placed into the finest of institutes for education, and put through special training reserved for elite soldiers.

Edward's purpose is to protect Harrow at all costs, and to act unquestionably. Groomed to be a perfect soldier, but in the place of a supposed loving son. Palmer,
The DNA Specialist

There was a cool breeze passing through their little underground network, a sign that winter was coming. Making the final preparations, Palmer sat in his small lab running over things. He had been delved into his work for hours now, making sure that he could manage this. Ana was to be his patient. She had no ties, no family, no reason not to be a test experiment.. Yet Palmer was worried that the mutation wouldn't be enough, that Ana would end up scarred and his failure would be brought to life. After all, Palmer was not his father. There was no way of actually knowing if this would work.

Stomach growling violently, Palmer sighed. His fingers pressed firmly against his temples, fingers that were now numb thanks to the cold air. He got up, closing Ana's file and his notebook in turn, deciding to take a break. Leaving the small lab, Palmer looked around. A few of the soldiers were out training in the tunnels of Vis, some spies playing cards.. It seemed like a content day, the last of few left before the war officially began. Spirits had been up since the latest installment of information buzzing around Plyae armies. Apparently, Harrow's militia had caught a snag, something that didn't add up about missing members of the city. No doubt, this meant the members of Vis and Plyae, but in their search of the tunnels, they had came across nothing and had given up for the time being.

Palmer counted this as a victory. Anything that lead Harrow's men from them was good enough for him. So long as they never got close enough, Plyae was still going strong. Of course, the continued success of Plyae depended on his experiment, his mutations. No pressure, of course.. The thought lingered in his mind as he grabbed an apple from the bin of fruit at the corner of the room. Everyone had been giving him their ideas of mutations that they wanted once Ana's was done, which was also not helping. He didn't even know if he was capable of being successful with the first, let alone many. Yet, he kept pushing on, trusting that he could do it, that he could help win this war. Biting into the apple, Palmer took a seat near the card table, watching quietly.

Christopher Araneo: Leader
Chris could not get his mind to stop freaking out. He tried working out, and just ended up sweaty. He then jumped into the waterfall, which left him cold and shivvering. He went back to training, which kind of distracted him, for at least a moment. He just needed to calm down enough to keep it from showing, because now, more than ever, people were counting on him to be a level headed leader.

Chris could barely feel his knuckles. He understood why Ana had been chosen, but he didn't have to be happy about it. His fist connected solidly with the training dummy, the blow moilving the entire fake body. Chris followed up with a kicking combo, and then a whalloping haymaker to it's face. In a real fight, Chris would have been wounded just then, his mlve leaving a huge unmistakable opening. He did not care. Chris just wanted to destroy Harrow, and save his brother. He was willing to risk his life just to give his brother a better chance. Chris thought of his brother, the other side of Chris's proverbial coin. He was serious, dark, and comtemplative; everything Chris was not. He didn't deserve whatever Harrow was doing to him. He visualized his brother hooked up to the infamous "Eye Opener", his very will being stripped from him slowly and painfully through a series of brainwashing and torture. Gah! I have to stop thinking of that! It is going to destroy me if I let it. Chris returned his attention with newfound hate towards the unfortunate practice dummy. He got angrier and angrier until, in a flash, he found himself nearly out of breath, sitting on the dummy's chest with a gun to it's head.

Kendra Grismelheim: The Detective

Kendra woke up in her comfy bed at 1100. "Shit." she said when she looked at he alarm, cursing it for failing to awake her from her slumber. She had had a long night, chasing tracks and trails well into the night, but to no avail. She had yet to find any more messages relating to this "secret weapon, and the few notes she had were just vague enough to drive her crazy. She was beginning to get obsessed with it. Why were they so confident that this could change the war? What kind of evil trickery could they be up to? Kendra needed to know. Undoubtedly, this had come about through some inhumane experiments, probably on humans, and probably resulted in the deaths of many innocent lives. Just like her father. He was just a regular man, doing what he was passionate about, and some evil men had come and destroyed her world just because they couldn't understand the prosperity in unity that Harrow offered.

Kendra decided to wear her charcoal and crimson uniform. The active camouflage belt she wore made it so she could wear any color she wanted, and still be unseen when she wished to be. As she finished slipping into her uniform, she heard voices approah her tent. She could not make out what they were saying, but she decided to step out into the crisp chilly air and see what they were talking about.

The two guards were just talking idle talk, but they stopped mid conversation to gawk at Kendra in her skin tight uniform. She liked what she could do to men. She enjoyed the attention, and she thanked the creator for his many blessings she had received. But this was a military establishment, and everyone knew what would happen if they stared for too long, so she gave them an icy stare, and they continued on their way. Kendra then started walking towards the command tent, eager to catch up on the work time she missed sleeping in.

Felton Warner The Medicine Man

“Oh, shit! I’m gonna be late,” Felton whispered to himself. He rushed into his office, passing by patients and staff. Anyone seeing him zoom by would think he would possibly be on fire if they saw how fast he was passing by and how rushed he seemed. He entered his office and went straight for his closet. He opened the closet to pull some supplies for the upcoming mission: syringes, scalpels, gauze, tape, scissors, etc. His messenger bag seemed to never be full, even with the many supplies he stuffed into it. He stopped pulling for a second and gently placed his bag on the ground. Visions of school, friends, family all seemed to flash in front of his eyes. Tears started to fill his eyes.

Why am I crying? That was a stupid question. He took a few deep breaths and tried to calm himself down. Just keep it simple. The basics. He continued with pulling a few more supplies. Once he filled his bag with anything and everything he thought he would need, he stared into his closet. What is it? He looked around one last time, trying to remember anything he would need. He looked up at the poster he made for himself. It was a child-drawn Hummingbird with the words “Always be prepared” badly written with bright pink paint. He slammed the closet shut and went into his desk.

He opened the bottom drawer and pulled out a small metal lunch box. He opened the metallic lid and revealed his supply of DNA Modification Serums, or Moddies for short, as he called them. He had a few that he was given, and one of his own design that he had never tried. Wings, scales, gills, rock, paralysis, poison. Good, good, they’re all here. Even you. He pulled closer his special made serum. He marked with a bright pink cap as to not confuse it with the others. He gently put it back and put them all into his bag. Before leaving the office, he pulled his signature weapon from behind his diploma on the wall. A medium length slightly curved blade he had dubbed Hummingbird since the blade had reminded him of the body. He holstered it to his thigh and proceeded to look for Christofer.

Korey Hynson: The Ninja

The semi-automatic metal frame Beretta 92S was chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. The widely popular Berretta 92 was reliable, accurate, and commonly endowed with eighteen round double-stack magazines. To Korey it there was more to it than it being a good gun, it was a staple in the police and military communities of the world. After a little rooftop gun firing dance with the local authorities Korey ended up ditching his sidearm. It was time for something new.

While sifting through the resistance’s armory he’d stumbled across a smuggled crate of 1990’s Beretta 92S’s meant for the Italian police departments or something. Everyone knew what a Beretta 92 looked like, whether or not they knew the name. It was common every. If Korey tossed it the weapon would probably just get lost in the piles of weapons confiscated from gangsters, hoodlums, and the rest of the city’s scum.

The Beretta had started out as mass of grease covered metal and now it practically glowed after be dismantled, cleaned, and reassembled. To accommodate quieter subsonic ammunition he’d made on simple change though; replaced the recoil spring with something much thinner. When combining subsonic ammunition with a robust suppressor the weapon’s diminished stopping power was well worth replacing the weapon’s sound barrier breaking clacks with suppressed wispy claps. The Fiocchi sub-sonic full metal jacket 157 grain full metal jacket rounds were a good fit.

The weapon’s suppressor was a hefty twelve unwieldy monstrosity when fitted to the Beretta it was simply massive. The price of silence Korey lamented. He strapped the weapon to a modified leather should holster, the silenced weapon hanging from beneath his left arm, two eighteen magazines on his right.

Despite the weights and daily exercise Korey still wasn’t getting any more beefy. At 5’10 and 140lbs he was a slender knot of muscle with the metabolism of a speed boat. Doc Felton had suggested something like a fourteen hundred a day calorie diet. Munching on the remnants of breakfast Korey remembered how impossible that was. Maybe it was twenty-two hundred. Regardless, the worst thing about waking up was waking up the MRE’s. They had become a bitter taste that regardless of the amount of off brand earl gray he managed to gulp down in the mornings the taste was there all day until he ate something that he actually considered food. At least he got out more often than not.

Chris stared at the dummy for a moment, his eyes going from the gun to its emotionless face and back again. He was starting to lose it. He had to talk to Doc, and soon. Maybe asking a few questions about the experiment would ease his headaches. He wanted to recsue his brother, but if he didn't want to sacrifice his mind to do it (if he could help it). Chris decided to quickly take a shower, cleansing himself of the sweat from his training session and his mind of irrational or despairing thoughts.

After he was clean, Chris put on a loose fitting shirt and jeans, his usual repertiore. He put on his boots, and walked out to the camp. He couldn't help but notice some of the females in the camp steal glances as he walked past. He thought it was funny, how the females in the camp made it easy for him to tell if they were attracted to him or not, except for the one he wanted most. She was more of an enigma. Oh well, guess that makes it more of a challenge. He walked into the center of camp, which was kind of a general meeting area. He knew the Doc well, and felt that it was always easier to be found than to find the medicine man.

While he waited patiently, his hands in his pockets as he swayed from side to side, he thought about going to Brody and asking about taking Ana's place as the first test subject. He knew Brody's feelings on this, but Chris felt that maybe if he pressured enough... No. Using his presence and the fact that everyone looked to him as a leader did not give him the right to pressure someone to do something they felt was not the best course of action. Let the scientists do the thinking, Chris. Your job is to lead these people in the war against Harrow, thats a big enough job. That, and staying alive to continue doing it. Chris thought about that. If only Palmer could figure out some way to cheat death...

Ana X: 'The Project'

The day had started out like any other normal day with her running through the usual rituals. Having awoken at zero five hundred hours, she was considered an early riser. Ana had always preferred it that way as it gave her the slight advantage of making minimal contact with other human beings. Outfitting herself in her usual soldier training attire, Ana made a striking figure in the plain black short sleeved shirt and matching close fitting pants. Standard light weight black boots were slipped on and laced up to the fullest, before she paused in front of her small bathroom mirror. Her hands smoothed over her light blonde tresses as she began pulling it into a high ponytail atop her head, before securing it with a simple black hair band. As she was turning to leave, the strands that were considered to be her bangs had slipped out and framed over the right side of her face. Pausing she contemplated securing them with a pin and decided against it.

Heading out of her quarters, Ana paused as she noted that there was a chill in the air. Her right hand went to her bare left arm and rubbed at the arising goose pimples that began to grow there due to the chill. Being underground it was not uncommon for the tunnels to be cool, but today was different as the seasons were undoubtedly shifting.

As she began walking her mind took a curious turn as she made her way to her destination of one of the smaller training rooms that the soldiers used for physical combat practice. Her mind was on the procedure that was soon to come and the possible mutation that would occur. Most would have been nervous given her position, Ana was quite the opposite. At the young ripe age of twenty years, Ana had no known history on file or by any of the other persons located in Pylae's base called Vis. Having been approached about going through the newly developed procedure to alter her DNA was an exciting endeavor. This would open a new chapter for her as she was basically no one, but also for the future of their cause.

Now, Ana did not feel the least bit sorry for herself nor pitied the fact that she had no known blood relations. Having been found at the tender age of four, she was given the surname of 'X'. It was possible that the superiors were planning on grooming her to become an experiment in the beginning and had dubbed her as they saw fit. Being pretty much self taught, self managed and groomed by her environment with what it held. Learning to distance herself from others around her, she excelled in whatever it was that she saw fit or caught her interest.

There were others in the tunnels that did not feel the same elation for Ana. Some were worried about the possible side effects or failure. Failure was not an option for her, as she was confident that things would go accordingly. That did not mean that there would be certain trials ahead of her, oh no. In fact, she welcomed the prospect of those trials as well. Then there were was a few others that felt they should have been given the honor to have the procedure done first. Sure they all had their own reasons, but they were also reasons based on sheer emotion.

This thought process would make one assume that Ana was completely dead inside, as if she were void of any emotion. On the contrary, Ana felt as any other person did. She just had trouble with displaying the correct emotion at the appropriate time and usually decided to remain silent.

Having reached her destination, Ana entered the training facility and began to stretch her muscles. Sure stretching was not something a soldier would necessarily be able to do in the field, but she knew the importance of keeping her body limber. After the thoughts of the procedure had invaded her mind it was difficult for her to stop thinking about them, she was after all anxious to go through with it all.

Idiris Grey

Idiris had spent the day mapping the tunnels and she still hadn't found anything more than a few fruit cores and a shopping receipt from above ground. Her white blonde hair was braided back, enough to stay out of her face as she crouched down, breathing in the air as deeply as she could for a scent, anything to help make this task easier. Yet, there was nothing. There had to be the rebel army, somewhere.. But she couldn't find a single clue as to where.

She was three days into her mission and there was no luck. Going above ground with no new information on the rebellion? She would rather die down here. The commander would be less than pleased. After all, she was a politician's daughter, meaning she had to prove her worth. Idiris shook her head, hand along the wall of the tunnel so that she could feel for vibrations, but nothing came. Turning, she started back to her last checkpoint, deciding that maybe she just needed to go down the adjacent tunnel.

Getting close but never finding what she was looking for was disheartening. Of course, as a leader of the intelligence, it wasn't like Idiris hadn't given plenty, yet she felt a sense of guilt for not having found the rebellions quarters. Helpful hints had lead her underground, but now she felt as though she was going in circles. Eyes closed, the blonde simply waited, listening to the drink of the sewer line nearest her, the soft sound of vehicles driving above ground.. and was that laughter? Laughter! Sure of it, she slowly made her way down the tunnel, following the sound she was sure of. If someone else was down here, by Harrow, she would find them.

Thankfully, her boots were quiet, the harder sole cut out so that her feet were merely a thin sheet of fabric from the ground, she was able to slip around quietly. She couldn't rely on her faulty sight, but her senses tingled as she made her way around the area, the soft vibrations touching her feet here and there, but usually only small things like rodents and the rush of the sewer water. The laughter had died down far too much, but she followed the trail she assumed was right all the same.

Edward Osborne: 'The Dire Son'

Sharp blue eyes scanned through the papers that were only moments before handed to him. The reports were growing grimmer as there were more accounts of households disappearing into the night, altogether leaving behind no trace. The growing suspicions about a rebellion had been confirmed only about a few months ago, Harrow still not quite believing the absurdity of such an idea. Who would oppose him with such fearsome power at his disposal? Who could imagine a world without him leading it? It was Edward himself that had brought forth the evidence to Harrow's office, and explained what he knew in detail. Which, unfortunately was not much. The few small fragments that they had managed to gather from interrogated rebels meant almost nothing to them.

The smallest puzzle piece he had scrapped up was brought forth to him by a Ms. Kendra Grismelhiem. There were notes of a supposed secret weapon that the rebels were circulating excited chatter about. Leaving the task up to Kendra, Edward wanted to know what it was that was being manufactured that would cause a turning point for these rebellious heathen believers.

... And so, here he was stuck in the field by his father to act as a commanding officer in hopes of gaining an even sturdier hand on the rebel's antics.

At first the prospect of having to manage all of this nonsense deterred Edward from wanting to be part of a much bigger picture than he was use to. Usually Edward was placed in the shadows when it came to carrying out operations, for fear of who he was and what sort of connection he held to Harrow. Those operations were never anything of the pleasant sort, mainly concerning torture, interrogation, assassination, and sentences of punishment to carry out.
Then the idea had sunk in... What if he could use this little war to his own advantage? Now that was not to say that Edward was planning on completely overthrowing his father, but maybe just pushing him into a position that was not fit to lead any longer. It was a first for Edward, to be let out into the world during the light of day and trusted with such an open mission. His identity was a secret to the world and the majority of those that worked with him, either way he had no fear of betrayal. One way of another, he would be a success.

His attention was brought to the entrance flap of the command tent as Kendra emerged. "So nice of you to join us finally sweetheart." A twitch of his lips suggested the barest of smiles before they disappeared. He placed the papers on the makeshift desk before giving her full attention. Standing tall, Edward calmly clasped his right hand around his left wrist, "Ms. Grismelhiem. Have you found anything new as of late? Or anything that would be beneficial for our cause for that matter?"
He was curious as to what she had managed to uncover, if anything at all yet.

Being a gentleman with the lady, he waved a hand and half turned his body to the table to offer her a spot to sit. "Coffee?" He asked, as he walked to where the black swill had been brewed and now sat. It wasn't the best but it was better than nothing while out in the field. He poured himself a cup and awaited patiently for her response, meanwhile those eyes of his noticing the glances some of the other men were giving Kendra in her form fitting uniform. "You three. Out. Now." He had pointed at the culprits and bid them the brisk command. He would deal with them later, personally teaching them a lesson in discipline as they clearly lacked any form of it.

Focused back on Kendra, he nodded his head and said, "An apologies. Now, a report if you would kindly." And waited to hear what she had to say.

Kenda walked into the tent with confidence, as if she had meant to be late in the first place. The sight of Osbourne standing there, looking as attractive as ever, gave her a smirk that she often used to disarm potentially dangerous situations. Edward Osbourne wasn't just sexually attractive, he had one thing that Kendra liked more than a chiselled body and the endurance of a beast (though she was sure he probably had those, too.) Osbourne had Power, and lots of it. She was basically the executive officer here, but he was the commanding officer. That turned her on more than any amount of snnappy dressing or pheromone enduced cologne ever would. He was the only person Kendra had ever met who rose in power faster than herself. She briefly imagined taking him right there in the tent, but knew that was a selfish and stupid move if she were to make it without any real hint or invitation. She did, however smile slyly as he dismissed the three others in the tent.

I have yet to uncover any more letters, and the tracks that lead us into the underground caves did not lead us anywhere specific, but it is my firm belief that the rebels are indeed somewhere in the underground catacombs. There was an abandoned encampment, which looked to have been left only a month or so ago. My theory is that it was a scouting encampment, which could mean we are close.

Kendra watched as the new information sunk in, one word at a time. This wasn't the news he wanted to hear, she knew for sure, but she doubted he would fly off the handle, because this is usually what intelligence gathering was like. You look at every straw in the haystack, and when you don't find the needle, you move on to the next, keeping the straws organized and individually sorted for possible referrence later.

Edward had poured a second cup for Kendra, and brought it forward to set it upon the table. Whether the bombshell detective wanted it or not was up to her. Sitting down opposite of where Kendra remained, he steepled his fingers together as he listened to her report and nodding only once in acknowledgement where necessary. The findings were extremely minimal, but this was to be expected as they were just beginning to react to the news of this rebellion.

"We have no idea how organized these people are, nor any inkling of who their leaders may be or what they are developing." Edward took a sip of his coffee before continuing. "Kendra I trust that you'll find something more substantial. Although what you have found are mere clues to the bigger picture. The encampment gives us reason to believe that there could still be rebel forces in the area. If found, I'd like them brought forward to me for interrogation."

He was not a man that rushed his thoughts or actions as he saw no reason to. Always calculating and preferring to remain several steps ahead of the game, he was one that would take his time. One of the few that he felt respected this about him was Kendra herself, as he felt she had a kindred sort of logic about her. Thus why he had hand chosen her and put the request in to his father about utilizing her in the field. Not to mention that the svelte of build, and stunning female knew just how to use her appearance to work to her advantage. Another admirable trait about her that he had noted. Without a doubt, this one had to be a wildcat under the calm demeanor that she usually had in place. Having hidden the smile in his cup as he took another drink, he set it down and continued on with his thoughts on what to do next.

"The footprints... I recall that there was a Ms. Grey that was assigned the task of mapping out a section of the tunnels along with a few other of our operatives. Have we had any word back from any of them? If not, no matter." He shifted in his sit to relax back more. "It will be only a matter of time before someone comes across something else. Besides, with the number of unexplained disappearances on the rise it's only a matter of time before someone slips up and gives away one of their positions. They are only human after all, and humans naturally make mistakes." He was counting on it, after all the number of bodies that the rebellion forces had to be supplying had to be taxing them somewhat. "Kendra, in the meantime continue your investigation as you see fit. I trust that you will uncover something more. If possible, find and infiltrate one of their camps. Make yourself one of them for a short period of time. Anything for us to uncover more of what this secret weapon is and how we can better safeguard ourselves... Possibly even take it as our own."

He knew there was really no reason for him to have said the last part to Kendra as she would act accordingly to further their accomplishments. Perhaps it was just the feeling of letting her know in a manner that she held his full support. She had never disappointed him in the past after all the few times they had been allowed to work together. How would this time be any different?

Kendra slowly sauntered forward to take the coffee cup, leaning downand sliding one slender finger around the rim while the handsome commander gasve his instruction. She then lifted the cup slowly from the table and sipped it slowly. She had always preferred her coffee black, since she sees that as the way the creator meant for it to be consumed. She remembered Agent Grey, found her a competent agent, and had much confidence in her. Grey would get the job done, find anything worth finding. Of course, Kendra had yet to discover whether she was more motivated by fear or by reward. There was only one way to find that out.

Kendra raised an eyebrow at the idea of infiltrating the Rebels. That would certtainly be fun... Kendra took a longer sip of coffee. She could move into Vis, start covertly hampering the efforts of fake government convoys, essentially buying her way in to the rebels hearts. If she were lucky enough to find a man who would be easy enough to manipulate...

Well, sir, I would love to do anything to further our your- I mean our great leader's cause. I assure you I will devote my entire body and soul into the efforts of bringing these soulless heathens to their knees. (raises cup) Prosperity in Unity!

At that, Kendra slowly turned and sauntered her way out of the tent a smirk slowly growing on her face as she left.

Slipping back above ground after a search the produced a lot of ideas, sketch pad in hand, Idiris made her way back up to the camp to check in. Hopefully, her sketch pad filled with notes on tunnels that lead no where and leads would be of use. She had enough to show where she thought the underground city was, judging by the other surrounding tunnels were, but she wasn't exactly sure she knew how to get into the place. Luckily, she had felt some grated places that might lead into Vis, but it was getting too late to go in alone.

Making her way to the camp, Idiris tied her hair back better in a braid, thankful to be in the cleaner air again. It was colder than down in the tunnel, but it was manageable. Her light jacket wouldn't be enough soon. Gladly, she knew the way back by heart now and made it there in no time. She ignored the gaze of a soldier and made her way to the commanders tent. "Kendra, you might want to hear this," she smiled as she passed the second in command and went in to see Commander Osborne.

"I've been mapping out the tunnels for a few days now, but I have a pretty good idea about where the rebellion forces could be, Sir." Judging by her expression, she was trying not to show how proud she was about doing this mission, very successfully she might add, by herself.

Holding out the sketch pad that she had made the maps on, Idiris bowed her head in respect. "My records from the mission, if you would like them.." The sketch pad was nearly full with images of what looked like the map of half of the local underground network. It was messy, but it worked well enough, with enough detail, to show where she expected the underground city could be. There were two locations that Vis could be, and Idiris expected that both could easily be utilized for the rebellion base. Of course, to better find the city, she needed another few days.

If the commander was pleased, she would request to go down with maybe one or two other people to find Vis. Ideally, she would love to go under cover, but she knew that the decision that would solidify that was not hers to make.

Kendra followed the eager lieutenant into the command tent, both admiring and being frustrated by the lack of acknowledgement for a superior officer. They may be friendly towards one another, but this was still a military encampment, and she was lucky no one was around, or Kendra would have to discipline her favorite. She listened to the report, and chimed in when the report was complete.

If I may, sir, I would suggest that we use her as well as myself to infiltrate the rebels. She could continue her seach, and, If discovered, she could convince the rebels she is a refugee, running from the (airquotes) evil bastard that is searching for them. She could even take some false information about how close we are to finding them. If miss grey remains undetected, she will return for me. Since my face is too recognizable to pull off being someone else, i could enter on the pretense of defection. Upon arriving at Vis, I will allow Ms.Grey to wound me in as dramatic a way as possible, then I will enter the rebel camp claiming that I defected and some brutish soldier did this to me. Then, weeks later, Ms. Grey can enter the camp, and we will have two people on the inside, who the rebels will not even know are connected. We can still do this plan if she is detected first, just have you deal the damage instead of her before i enter Vis. Of course, this all rests of Ms.Grey actually locating Vis, so I must remind Ms.Grey what the punishment for failure is...

Kendra waited anxiously at what the commander thought of this plan.

Felton made his way to the gym. Of course he would be there. Where else would a guy like him be... Felton paced his way to the gym. So much to do, so little time... He always felt as if nothing would stop the world, less than it exploding. He glanced around at "Home". What a world... He had to make his way to Chris. Felton could only imagine how the above world would look by now. It must be extraordinary. He stopped and imagined all the things he would see up there. Extraordinary. Absolutely extraordinary. His gaze refocused. Get back to the job at hand. He went back to making his way to the gym again.

Felton down the corridors and made his way straight to where Chris was waiting. He looked through his bag and made sure that he had everything. Seeing that he did, he walked up to an amazing picture of a man. Wow, he is absolutely perfect...

"I'm absolutely sorry for making you wait. You should have just come to my office." Felton readied his bag and made his way to shake Chris's hand. "Anyway, where are we going? Or better yet, who do we need to pick up before all this happens?"

Chris looked up at Felton, eager to ask questions, and also eager to continue the day's activities. He shook the man's soft, velvety, feminine hand. Chris was aware that he comes from a world where he sees the worst of the damages of war, without experiencing war first hand. Chris has heard the phrase "doctors should be operated on so that they know what it is like", but Chris disagreed with that statement. He knew that people had different talents, and he respected Felton tremendously for his unparalelled expertise in his field. Speaking of expertise, Chris had a few questions he needed answered regarding the experiment.

Good morning, Felton. We first need to get Ana and make sure she is ready. Next, we get to Palmer's lab and let him brief her before the procedure. Then, we see what this stuff can do. By the way, you are sure that she is safe?

He led Felton over to where Ana was training, and he had to pause for a moment to admire her grace, she moved so quickly and fluidly that his mouth stood slightly agape. She made his training exercise look like he was an Ox or a gorilla, stronger perhaps but so much slower.

Ana was completely engrossed in her physical exercises after her stretching has finished, and had been so for at least thirty minutes. She had started out with endurance drills, then moved onto more combative work with one of the other soldiers in charge. Alternating between close quarters combat with a knife and without, she worked herself relentlessly. Determination and dedication was what willed her to make her body remember these movements. Wanting to embed the steps into her muscles so that it all became simple muscle memory. She wanted her body to move as fluidly as possible. Wanting to make her strikes and blows count as they should but also being able to dance out of harm's way successfully.

Backing away from her target, Ana executed a graceful back hand spring to gain some distance. Pushing her relentless bangs, that had freed themselves further from her ponytail, out of her face she was made aware that she and her partner were not alone as a small breeze had moments before come through the room. The chilled air was welcome now as she had worked up a small sweat. Her deep hazel green eyes sought out the newcomers as she assumed it was other soldiers coming to also utilize the training room now. Surprised slightly, though it had not registered, as she identified who had entered she made a point to go and greet the two men that stood near the doorway.

One of them she had seen previously here or there and briefly recalled a name. She thought it was something like, 'Felton' or such and he was a noted Tinkerer. Turning to the other male who was larger in build, she realized this was Christofer. She had noted the expression that had been on his face prior to moving towards them, and thought better about making some jest about his expression. Their future and handpicked leader for the rebellion would most likely not take kindly to any smart mouthed comment she had to make at that moment. Ana did not know much about him, nor had spoken to him much as there had not ever been anything really to say aside from a few exchanges concerning the rebellion's cause.

Acknowledging Christofer first, Ana gave the expected salute to her superior "Sir." before nodding at Felton. What was going on now, she wondered. Suddenly the thought clicked, were they finally ready to begin procedure on them?

"Has Palmer decided to get started with the mutations?" She was eager to know the answer, though kept her emotion from showing or belying her calm demeanor to the other two.

---x---

Edward had watched Kendra saunter off with a slight smirk, he was glad to have her on his side... Though he was sure that he would have to make sure to keep an eye on her, Kendra originally had begun work with his father and he was still unsure just as to how committed to him she was. For all he knew, the femme fatale could have been attempting to play him false. His eyes going back to the meager bits of information that they currently had, his attention was drawn to the entrance of Idiris Grey. It was funny how things came about to present themselves when you were only moments ago discussing it.

"Ms. Grey, a welcome sight to see you back. Perfect timing as we were beginning to wonder what had become of you." His eyes flicked over to Kendra as she had reappeared back inside of the tent to rejoin them. He listened as Idiris gave a briefing on her findings and presented the map sketches. Taking them from her, he looked over the crude drawings and was pleased at what he saw. She had noted details that most would have overlooked, and had dared to scout further than all of those that were currently under his command.

"These are exceptional pieces of work. I was beginning to wonder if the rebels had come across you and had taken you as a prisoner. Undoubtedly, you have given us a grand opportunity to start mobilizing." Handing the pad back to Idiris he looked to Kendra who began voicing her plan.

"I agree with your proposed plan, but would like also like to issue the command to be keeping some sort of personal watch on what is happening in the tunnels. I stress for you to use that you camouflage abilities or tools that you have." His eyes dropped to the belt that Kendra wore before returning to her face to make a point. "I want this mission to be carried out quietly as too many people involved will only lead to leaks to the rebels. If you come across any of those leaks, exterminate them. I want this airtight and successful." Turning back to Idiris, he added, "I have confidence that Ms. Grey will be successful in furthering her findings as well as making the infiltration go smoothly. She has you to help lead her after all Kendra. One given such an intelligent mind will not use it poorly anyway. I want periodic contact. Make it happen somehow without compromising your mission. Dismissed."

If all went well with what they were trying to do, it could mean for a different future. If things began to hit snags, then he would have to take some matters into his own hands. Looking between the two females, he was not the least bit concerned as he had two very capable women carrying this course of action out.

Chris quickly drew his jaw up when he realized that Ana had noticed the two of them across the training gym. I have got to stop doing that! What if she noticed?! Chris cleared his throat, and returned her crisp salute. He couldn't help but notice how the fabric of her outfit fit her body snugly, and tried his best not to let his eyes wander. He had to keep his military bearing. Although there were no specific rules against fraternization in the rebels, Chris did not need to embarass himself right before what could be the defining moment Pylae and perhaps the future of the world itself. Still, she was beautiful; Chris was content just to look into her deep hazel eyes.

It seems if everyone is ready, we can examine you and make sure you are ready for the procedure.

Gah! EXAMINE HER!!!! Stupid, Stupid, Stupid! Chris tried to dig himself out of the proverbial hole her just stepped in.

That is, Dr.Warner can examine you, and I can, uh, wait elsewhere for a moment, then we can spar to get a detailed assessment of your abilities pre-operation, then we will try again post operation.

Chris kept his face stoic, not at all showing his embarassment from the remark earlier.

Your every wish is my command, sir.

Kendra smirked as she led Idiris out of the tent making sure to let the tent linger open as she led Idiris out in front of her, and then they went to Lt.Grey's tent. Kendra was going to let her rest for a day; after all, the rookie lieutenant deserved it. Kendra posted a watchman outside Ms.Grey's tent, and told him to take care of her in any way she asks. Kendra loved toying with the men around camp. Of course, she did not expect Idiris to even ask for anything unsavory, but Kendra loved the expression left on the man's face as he popped a breath mint in his mouth. With Idiris now resting in her tent nicely for the time being, Kendra turned her attention to the quatermaster's tent. Kendra aquired some batteries for her belt, and decided on bringing along an assortment of deadly poisons, throwing knives, and her favorite gun, a customized silenced .25 calibur pistol very similar to the barettas in the old world. What was so special about this weapon was that it was so slender that it could easily be hidden on her person, and had a small computer chip that imprinted each bullet with a tracer. Also, she got enough dehydrated rations for months, and an extra active camoflage belt buckle just in case. She went back to her tent to put together her special portable torture kit, because you never know... Kendra was currently working on a portable version of the "Eye Opener", a torture device that she had invented herself, and had yet to fail to convert or at least subjugate anyone. Alas, her favorite toy would have to stay home.

I will miss you, my love.

Kendra sighed as she went to the officer's mess to absorb some more male attention and eat a luxurious lunch with a decadent dessert. Ah, the life of the upper Military...

The kitchen was literally devoid of anything appetizing. The Rebellion wasn’t going to bring in any new members with its unappetizing selection of food stuff. No wonder people were deserting. The bread stuffs were easily a week old and half molded, probably nabbed from supermarket’s garbage but the coffee was the morning’s worst offender. The black/brown goop was suspended in a sheath of grime and afloat with unfiltered coffee beans. Korey gave up, preparing a cup of coffee and nabbing a bagel before heading out.

Korey quickly moved through the chilled tunnels, finally turning a sharp right through a doorway. Inside Ana, Chris, and Felton were already busy discussing Ana’s mutation. Korey took a taste of his coffee; it didn’t taste any better with half a dozen sugars.

“Morning,” Korey muttered the words, half drowning them in his cup of brown joy.

If Ana was feeling any anxiety, being Palmer’s first subject for the mutations, she wasn’t leaving any evidence. If Ana survived and thrived on these new mutations many of Korey’s unanswered questions and fears would be answered.

Ana's expression had changed for a second when a smile had managed to crack away that hard exterior she always wore. The smile, though slight of appearance had a slight slyness to it. She found Christofer's current interactions to be amusing. Though he had made some sort of small fumble with his wording that he was uncomfortable with, Ana had originally found no issue with the original verbiage he had used. As direct and quick as he was so far to right his words with her, if this was how he always was then it was no wonder why he was picked to be the leader of Pylae. After all, they needed someone who seemed to remain human. Everyone part of the rebellion was all for the grand cause of it, but the majority was so consumed and driven by what felt their own personal vengeance or grief. For all she knew she was horribly wrong. After all, she was one of those flawed characters herself and possibly the worst of the whole lot.

Nodding her head once, she replied turning to Felton, "Dr. Warner, I'm ready whenever you are. Lead away, I'm all yours." It was then that another male had entered as Chris continued to explain what was to happen. Korey, part of the spy division if she had remembered correctly. It was a unit that for a time she had been incredibly curious about trying out for. Apparently she didn't fit the bill for what they had been looking for. Not that she was complaining as to how things had taken an interesting turn for her. Still, she wanted to know about Korey's line of work and if there were any skills she could learn from his division and add to her own. After all, she held respect for their line of work and the fact that he was a male of few words. She responded to his greeting with a nod in his direction before turning her attention back to Chris.

"Sparing?" Her brows rose interested in the prospect that she would be training with Chris. If only to assess where she was at physically, the new idea still intrigued her. This was not something she had expected as she thought that there would be more of a doctor/patient confidentiality sort of thing. "Well, this should be interesting." Reaching out a hand she rested it on one of Chris' biceps and added in a mock concerned expression, "And please try not to freeze up or pull any punches since I'm a female. Got it?" The last thing she wanted was for the sparring part to be documented incorrectly due to the possibility of the male fearing that he would hurt her. It had happened time and time again before in the past. Now was not the time for them to play it safe as this was the beginnings for a greater part in their roles. Besides, Ana was confident that she could hold her own against Chris, if at least for a little while.

Felton looked at Chris, "Well..", was all he got out before he saw her throw a punch and nearly knock the dummy down. Maybe. Probably not... Felton waved his hand at Ana to say hello. "Palmer has okay-ed the mutations, and he knows who is getting what as far as I know. I will be administrating them as soon as I get all examinations done and over with. We just need to wait for..." He was cut off by Korey coming in and greeting himself. "Nevermind. I think that should be everyone. Let's make our way to Palmer. He will help me with the examinations and administrating the serums." Felton was on his way to the door when he heard Chris talk about fighting or practice. Athletes... "First we need to examine you guys, then you can practice or kick each other down or whatever after." Felton opened the door and started to make his way to Palmer's.

"Oh, Korey, how has the diet been? Have you gained any weight or body mass yet?" Felton was truly worried about him. He was such a handsome man and the last thing he wanted was for the best man he has seen in a while become ill because he was so skinny. Felton had such a soft spot for Korey. I mean, he was pure lean muscle and such a handsome man that he couldn't help but become infatuated with him. If it wasn't that he was a patient, he would probably ask him out on a couple nights on the town, so to speak. Oh well...

Felton remembered the vials in his bag. He slowly sighed in remembering what they could possibly do to the human body. He really wished he had more time to try these out on other test subjects or something because Palmer was about make guinea pigs out the best that Pylae had to offer, which was saying a lot. But orders are orders, and at the end of the day, if it will turn the tide, they have to make the sacrifice. Let's hope they work...

Idiris had been thankful when the report back had gone smoothly. She trusted that a few more days in the tunnels would turn fruitful, to say the least. And if she got caught? Well, that would be easy to manage. Everyone always underestimates the mostly blind girl. Naturally, the idea of failure would weigh her down. Kenya had been right. The punishment for failure was severe and definitely not something she would ever look forward to.

When she was led back to her tent, Idiris overheard the comment of 'any way' and blushed. She certainly didn't need more than just someone standing outside, making sure no one came in. The mere thought of needing more was vaguely horrifying, but Idiris knew it was not for her embarrassment that the executive officer said it. So instead of paying it any mind, the lieutenant went to work more on her sketchbook and get some rest.

Palmer was going over his notes back in his lab, the vials already set, duplicates made in the event that everything went as planned. He still needed to check back with Ana to do one more DNA match, making sure everything was right.. Yet, he hoped that, by week's end, the first in a hopefully long range experiment would take off. After all, the young adult was nervous that things might not actually go as planned, so thinking about it obviously lead to stress.

Crossing off two lines in his notes that were no longer valid, Palmer sighed. He felt like he should be doing more, being more fruitful. It wasn't every day that human tests were made. While all the rodent trials had been successful, that was hardly saying much. Eliminating any range of diversity in the group, Palmer had used half-starved sewer rats, keeping them all undernourished during the experiment. Thankfully only a few died in the trail, but the other five had shown tremendous change in a positive light. From there, the experiment grew until now. Nearly everything was perfect, even if there was a vast margin or error. Human tests were the hardest to get right. It wasn't like with the rodents, where Palmer hadn't been worried if a few had died while working things out. These were real, human, lives.

That was why he chose Ana. She had the least connecting, no family to worry about.. It was just her. If she died it would be a tragedy, but no where near as awful as any of the other soldiers that were going to be undergoing the change. Palmer swallowed hard at the thought, disappointed that his mental process had come to no longer strongly value the human life. But this was war and people died every day. There was no time for over sentiment.
