i went to 3 anime conventions in one year (which was 2011) the only time i have been and LOVED IT! dressed up for 2 of them :3
theres pretty much 5 conventions every year, theres animania and smash (which are both on twice a year) and supanova :3 i think there is like one or 2 more but they are the only ones i know in sydney area (which is where im from)
i only moved into the city about 4ish years ago so yeah kinda still newish to the area too. i think there are anime clubs and things too ( i was looking to go to a few before) if i find out or go to a few of them wouldthey be considered as conventions? meeting places etc? or just the main ones?

I have no clue... I want to help my partner dress up, but myself I'm not sure... I mean what would I dress up as? o.o

and idk how it is there but here if you dont dress up idk you feel left out lol i dressed up for my first then i ran out of time so i didnt dress up for the other one but i felt soo... left out seeing everyone dressed up so the next one i dressed up again :3

Well there are a lot of mediocre people... not too many good outfits... it takes money and a lot of hard work to make a good outfit. Granted if you do it'd probably be worth it to wear it a lot of times XD

Yes! imagin fallling over in it! you wouldnt get hurt!! that is my dream outfit lol, i said to my bf.. ok you can be the marshmallow in the clip and ill make a girl one with a bow on top of my head or something hehe 2 marshmallows walking around! hehe

yeha i know! i saw sooo many that have worked on outfits for like 3 years and only just got to wear it but WOW the outfits were so detailed and the props were amazing! lol yeah i would definently wear something like that EVERY CONVENTION! jsut to get the wear from it lol..

I'd expect fabric with some Styrofoam would probably work fine if you could find a giant cylinder of it, cute out a center, and leave the top with just fabric to give air flow

oh, i know a place that you just give them like a picture and sizes of what you want and they make it to order. my brother got a huge sword done for a cosplay he did of ichigo and his sword was able to go into the place. alot of people make weapons and things but because they are made out of wood or hard rubbers they arent allowed to bring them in. but his was all styrofoam rubber stuff and real size too they left it go in :3
