Welcome to my small art shop.
First I would like to mention why I’m doing this. Lately I have suffered a great dent to my inspiration and love of art, both in the loss of a close friend and in giving up on my course at University because of being failed because my drawings were too ‘detailed and realistic’ for an art course (WTF?).
So I have been feeling very depressed artiscaly speaking. So I’m opening this to try and get some inspiration to draw again.

I’ll keep this short and sweet.
~ Follow the ToS
~ Be nice in my thread
~I do not like net/leet speak so please don’t use it here as I hate having to spend about 10 minutes trying to decipher a post
~ I have artistic license in regards to what goes into the image, no ifs and or buts
~ All transactions are final
~ Do not commission then pull out because if you do I will still expect payment for the amount of time I have worked on it and you will -not- receive the artwork

Tenten - Hehe thank you =)
Dystopia - This is the world of 'Illustration' if you can't draw like a three year old then you're obviously not good enough to make money apparently*Rolls eyes*

@ Alectio - o3o; I don't understand that reasoning. Maybe they thought that your style was too developed for them to teach you? I don't know.

Well have you seen kids books and cartoons these days, it's all this kind of crappy stick-figure, colour outside the lines nonsense. So when I handed in this 8 page study on horses (anatomy and such) as our 'illustrate your favourite thing in the form of a book' project, they failed me because it was way too detailed -_-

I haven't seen either. o3o; I don't really read picture books or watch cartoons.
I get the feeling, though, that realism artists aren't quite as appreciated in the world. Most cartoons aren't meant to be drawn realistically and if you need a realistic image for a logo, you can just use a photograph.

Yeah it's true, most people are on this 'modern art' kick where any random person can come in off the street and claim even just a scribble as being 'art'.
It's just really wrong. As my grandfather says, I was born in the wrong century hehe.

I haven't a real definition to what art is, personally. o3o;

I suppose in some cases (like mine) it's how you're raised, I was raised with strict parents who were also raised by strict parents, and that's what I have inherited, I'm strict with 'art' and well-disciplined, therefor I am apparently not a 'real artist' in today's standards.
It's confusing, but whatever heh
Edit - I'm going to get ready for work. Nice talking with you, take care.
Edit 2 - Back

Helloz?
I wanted to pop in and say that I like your arts =3
And to say that once I get enough gold, I'll request some arts

I'm good, just bored.
My RPing buddy had to leave and I have the entire rest of the night with nothing to do....
But all is well. I might come up with something to do *shrug*
How is your art dilemma going?

Ah I hate when that happens, RPing rocks =3
Eh I've just given up on it, to be honest, I'm taking another course in September hopefully which'll be a general teaching course so I can forget about the 'art world' =/

Hopefully.
What are you going to do until your new classes?
I read your past posts and it boggles me how your art would be "too realistic".
My art leans more towards anime, but there's no such thing as too realistic.
Not to me anyways...

I work in my dad's accounting firm when not in class it's (begin sarcasm) sooo much fun (end sarcasm).
Yeah, the art in my examples is as 'anime' as I get, I love the eyes but I don't like cell-shading so I always blend my colours. As for my classwork, yeah today's society is all about modern art, which means anyone can make millions whether they have skill or not, just dab some paint haphazardly on the floor, hire an agent and in no time you've got a masterpiece selling -_-
