Personality: Despite his appearance, Kiaran is a sweet man who likes to put other’s needs above his own. Unfortunately, due to recent experiences, Kiaran has withdrawn into himself, preferring to spend time on his own rather than with other people. Kiaran has a soft spot though for young children and most animals and for those he does speak to, he is willing to help them with their problems. He doesn’t like dwelling on his own past and will change the topic of conversation the moment his past comes up. He can have his mischievous streak at times and does enjoy a good joke. Kiaran doesn’t drink, having ruled out alcohol from his life around four years ago. He doesn’t like change all that much, although his appearance hints at a slightly more rebellious childhood.
History: Kiaran had been a typical kid growing in a suburban neighbourhood with the typical kid ideals. He had dreams of being a writer and journalist, had already had the work experience by the time he was fifteen. It was also at the age of fifteen that everything changed. It was at the age of fifteen that Kiaran met HIM. HE was strange, intriguing, made Kiaran think in ways he’d never done before, consider things he’d never thought could be considered. It was because of HIM that Kiaran finally realised his preference for men over women. After a year of friendship, their relationship became something more.
Unfortunately for Kiaran, in his neighbourhood, people like them weren’t accepted very well. He was disowned from his family when he finally told them at the age of eighteen. Having suspected this was what would happen, Kiaran had been saving up with HIM for a year and the two of them moved out of their old homes into an, all be it shabby and run down, apartment nearer the university they were both attending. Kiaran had gotten into a Journalism Course, taking a Creative Writing course in his spare time whilst HE had decided to go straight into work. Everything seemed perfect, right. That is, until HE collapsed in the middle of work. Having got the call from the hospital, Keith rushed from university to visit HIM, only to be told it was an incurable disease, something they could only stave off a few years at best.
Those last four years were bittersweet as HE tried his hardest to prove he wasn’t fragile and Kiaran tried his hardest to take care of HIM, through HIS highs and lows of the illness. Sadly though, after four years of battling, HE succumbed to the disease, leaving Kiaran alone, with no family and only a small group of friends from his university years who had supported them both during the final weeks. Now he works for a Newspaper as a journalist, covering local news, although he has lost contact with almost all his friends, keeping contact with only three. HIS death has hit Kiaran hard and he still suffers from the loss, not knowing that the disease is slowly eating away at him now.
Other: He wears two necklaces constantly, both dog tags on chains. One has his name engraved on it, the other has HIS name.
