The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

It's a kinda futuristic dystopian book where North America is divided into twelve regions and each year each region sends a boy and a girl to compete (to the death!) in the Hunger Games, which are held in the Capitol. The last one standing is the winner, and the story follows one of the tributes from one of the poorer regions.

EVERYBODY READ IT. NOW. IT IS SO SO GOOD AND AWESOME.

I am currently reading Darkwitch Rising by Sara Douglass. It is the third book of four and its pretty good so far if not odd. The one part made me go 'bleh' not due to bad writing but with what was going on and I'd never imagine the one character doing that. The first book takes place in the Aegean World and the next two in different time periods in English History. In the first book Brutus, great grandson of Aphrodite, starts a magical Labryinthe with Genvissa. The next three books go through their next three lives trying to finish what they started. Its very good and you can tell the author did her homework. I can't wait to finish it and read the next one x3

You'll be even more surprised by the last book, I promise.
By far one of my most favorite series of all time.

I am currently reading Shadowfall by James Clemens. It has an interesting take on gods, but it is somewhat odd at times. His style is interesting and the premise isn't cliche, so I will keep reading.

@ronneh- I love American Gods. Great book.

@Karix- I bought A Clockwork Orange but still haven't read it. Hope it is good.
I want to read the Cirque Du Freak series but I'm having a hard time finding them.

@Rianna Burrfoot- I am a huge fan of Tamora Pierce. I own all of her books and have read them a lot.

I am reading a book I want to read for the first time in half a year. I'm reading Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs. I love her too.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

The clever thing I was about to say about it was taken by wikipedia when I double-checked the author's name ;_; but it's a feminine dystopia, which means the women are pretty much enslaved to men. They're devided into Wives, who you know, just basically keep the man company from what I've read; Martha's, who are maids and cooks; and Handmaids, who bear the children, as the wives seem to be older women. There are also Econowives, who do all three tasks.

There're adult situations and bad language and all that, plus there are some possibly anti-religious themes, or it's possible to read it that way (so far), but it's really worth a look, especially for women.
