The large marble building looms over the street, dwarfing the small wooden shops next to it. You wonder how you did not notice the thing before, it is huge!

Walking cautiously up to the front, you see a large marble plaque next to the building's double doors. It reads "The Bureau Between Life and Death". However, much less official and imposing is the paper sign scotch taped to the door that says:

Welcome to the Bureau Between Life and Death! Before you enter, there are a few ground rules that you must follow!

1. Please do not harass any of the employees (owners) or managers (artists/shop runners)! Doing so is a quick way to get thrown out!

2. Please do not beg for a free Death Spirit! If we decide to give out anything free, it will be based on our own choices. (Most likely to friends or something. ^_^)

3. Please follow the rules of the TOS and Menewsha at all times while within the Bureau.

4. Please be literate when RPing! Some minor RP is needed to own one of these pets.

5. Please do not stretch the thread. If you wish to do a link exchange, PM me.

6. If you can not pay for your Death Spirit right away, we can work out an installment plan. The price of 800g can be payed in increments of 200g every week and a half to two, if necessary. However, it is preferred if you can pay right away.

7. Please feel free to post and ask questions if you are confused.

Grand Opening!

As you enter the Bureau, your shoes make clicking noises on the marble floor. The entryway is much smaller than the outside would suggest, almost like the waiting room of a doctors office. Various tropical plants and plush chairs line the walls.

Ahead of you, a young woman with brown hair dyed pink at the tips is reclining in a chair behind a large mahogany desk. What appears to be a large scythe is leaning against the right side of the desk. Several closed doors are in the wall behind the woman.

Seeing you, the woman smiles and jumps up.

"Welcome to the Bureau Between Life and Death!" she says cheerfully, a large grin on her face. "Are you here about the job? Oh, silly me, of course you are!"

She moves around to the front of the desk and sits on it, crossing her legs.

"We at the B.B.L.A.D. are dedicated to providing the best afterlife transport service around. We are currently responsible for three different worlds."

She pulls down a large screen from out of nowhere.

"Our first world is Mithca. It's a magical based world with all kinds of fantastic creatures. The large tree you see is one of the many incarnations of Yggdrasil, the tree of life."

"Our second word is Etheral. It's a highly futuristic world filled with fantastic technology and gadgets."

"And, of course," she smiles slyly, "we serve our modern home world of Menewsha."

She rolls the screen back up, where it vanishes and gives you another coy smile.

"So, interested in being an Afterlife Guide?"

Natalia Winters:
Pretty much the only Shinigami still left in the Bureau, other than the higher ups. Is responsible for hiring new members and handing out Death Spirit Orbs. Since there's nobody else left, is also responsible for basic training, scythe training and a mountain of paperwork.

Natalia: "Enough already! Darn it, I've gotta start hiring people just to break even around here!


Iycei:
Natalia's Death Spirit partner. Is the Death Spirit of Hypothermia. Basically spends his time helping Natalia out around the Bureau.

Iycei: "Na-aaat! I'm tired of wooorking! Where the hell is everyo-one?"

Natalia: Oh, let's look at Iycei's baby pictures!
Iycei: Na-aat! Stop it!

Stage One:

The first stage of any Death Spirit is basically a floating orb. The orb is about the size of a small (duckpin) bowling ball. It will hover over any surface that it is put on by about an inch or two.
(Most orbs are much fancier than this one. ^_^)

Stage Two:

Well, your Death Spirit has finally formed! Aren't they cute! At this stage, you'll finally be able to start working officially as a Bureau Shinigami! Or, at least begin basic training. XD

Stage Three:

Your spirit is fully grown, and you can go on official Shinigami missions!


Owner Stages:
Well, as your spirit grows, you grow in power as well right? Expect to see your character image change sometime after you reach the final stage!

These are just some basic skeleton requirements to moving forward, as far as you need to interact with shop runners. You are also encouraged to RP with other members and write journal entries. Doing so will increase the speed of your Death Spirit's evolution.

So, how much do these things cost?
They cost a total of 800g for a premade. This price includes a picture of your character and the three stages of your Death Spirit. You can pay in an installment plan, but it is preferred if you pay it all up front.

Liek, OMG, you kill people?
Uh, no. The people that we deal with are already dead. It is the job of our people to protect the spirits and send them into the afterlife.

So, what's with the different Death Spirits?
Each death spirit is the personification of a different type of death. Therefore, the owner/character partner of each death spirit is the shinigami responsible for people who died that particular type of death.
