How many video games can you "beat" in a month? Over the summer? How about in a year?
If you're anything like me, a pretty shameless dabbler, you may start a lot of them but complete few. Unless the game really sucks or I've ragequit because I can't push 5 buttons at once without my old lady fury kicking in, I start to feel like I have unfinished business after a while. It interferes with my ability to enjoy new games (and, makes me feel guilty for buying them ).
So, I decided to challenge myself to actually "beat" some of these puppies. I figure if I write it down here, in public, there's accountability and I'm more likely to actually do it.. right? Please tell me that's right.
Come along and join me, won't you? Take some of those forgotten discs or cartridges off of whatever shelf or dark hole you've stuffed them into, blow the dust off and let's get to it!

Choose an amount of time and, if you wish, a set goal.
For example, I chose to try for 12 games in 1 year. That's one game a month if I pace myself.. sounds doable, right? Feel free to choose a shorter time period (say, 'over the summer'), or longer - whatever works for you.
Make your Game List post & I'll link it to the front.
Make it as plain or fancy as you wish. You'll see my example list a few posts down from here.
Come back to edit your Game List post as you progress through the challenge, & let us know how it's going.

Hmmm this does sound pretty interesting. I do have a habit of not finishing games.
I'll give this some thought about what games I'd like to play and think up a reasonable time frame for them.

I just wanted to ramble a bit about Tomb Raider -- I'm enjoying it a lot now! I think I'm pretty close to finishing the main storyline, but I have a lot of collectibles to go back and look for now that my gear is upgraded & I can get past barriers. When I first started I worried that the action sequences would be too much (I tend to panic during coordinated buttonmash and screw up, and the ones in TR are so theatrical that you really get sucked into the moment) but they aren't as difficult or long as they seem. So, good use of setting and tone to make things feel more dangerous. ;D
Ou Skyrim <3 I ran through it twice in four months. It was my first xbox game, because I just got the xbox in February with my taxes. I'm late to the party >_>
Right now, I'm playing Dragon Age. I don't think I could set myself a goal, because I have spurts of activity. I'll play hardcore for a few days ... and then I won't play for weeks. Weird, stupid attention span.
Now I'm trying to go through and get a few more collectibles so I can push up my gamerscore. ;D
@PWEEP - that's what I do too.. I have so many unfinished games. Dragon Age is one of them, even. I did play through that on the PC when it first came out, but that was before any DLC was available, so there's lots left to do.. I should put that on my list. Anyhow, we'd love to have you if you change your mind. :)

the PSP games were in progress but my PSP analog stick broke so i didn't get to finish them, and I never got around to finishing Dirge of Cerberus because after playing five hours straight one day, I realized i didn't have a memory card to save on = - =

Man, I'm always trying to convince myself to complete games, I own dozens of games but I've maybe beat a third of them, I give up or get a new game and the whoops. You know I haven't beaten a pokemon game since sapphire and i own at least one from every gen.
I've decided my goal is to beat every game I own.

oh so apparently it was necessary to search the hangul... i don't know why but no one can ever find my steam account, haha, even before i changed the profile name to hangul. I ended up having to connect my steam account to my facebook account
