Solaris. An interesting name, and then his kind host's face seemed to go blank, and Kurako straightened a bit in his chair. The half elf did his best to hide any growing concern for the well being of the other, but then Solaris was excusing himself and Kurako stood. He placed his tea cup on the table, and palmed a few more pieces of fruit into a pocket before he began to follow. He moved quietly, and stayed a fairly good distance behind Solaris.

When the other finally stopped, Kurako blinked, lavender eyes looking over the figure of a woman, the gate that brought her here was gone. Briefly he wondered if he had been fast enough could he have slipped through that gate, if it were possible there was no guarantee the gate would take him back to his world. Besides, there was nothing there for him anyway, really. Gloved hands moved through his hair, pulling the strands forward and over his ears. He suddenly felt foolish for leaving his hooded cloak on the floor in that room in the tower.

There was nothing he could do about such a thing now, but he did step forward. Soft, slow, delicate, and cautious foot steps brought him to stand just a few short feet from the girl and Solaris. His gloved hands moved through his hair again, concealing the evidence of his heritage as best he could before those hands dropped. One slipped to a pocket and pulled out a piece of fruit. Oddly clean to have been inside a pocket, and his pants weren't even wet from leaking fruit juice.

A thief should have proper pockets ideal for any occasion, shouldn't he? His lavender eyes had traveled over her form, stopping at her feet as she held her dress up and away from them. "It'll hurt if you walk like that." The half elf moved towards her slowly, holding the piece of fruit out as if it were a peace offering. "I can carry you." He was approaching her delicately, not sure how she was feeling, how scared she might or might not be after coming through that gate. Kurako himself had taken things in stride, but he remained wary of this place, and even of Solaris so far.

She was hurt, looking at him. He held her gaze for a moment, taking in her appearance and such fully. He pulled his thoughts away from where she was from and what had happened, back to the present. That could all wait, it was of no concern. He would not force her to tell him at all if she did not want to. The point was she was here, she was now safe, and she needed his help. The help of this place, the temple.

He took a breath, and opened his mouth to speak up. Before he could answer however, his first guest was speaking up and on the move. He turned his head to catch sight of the other. He had not been expecting him to come follow him. Then again, he should not have been to surprised. The other was curious, and wary of him as well. He watched the male for a moment, as he moved towards the female. He looked at her, and for some reason, he knew she would not answer.

Within the amulet, another star would appear. His hand would move to it without a though, fingers wrapping around it as he watched the two of them. He shook his head, pulling himself from the thoughts. "She needs help" he says, "bring her into the temple, we can heal her there." He looked to the female, "if that is alright with you of course...I will explain things to you, once you are alright." He nodded to Kurako, "please help her inside." He turned, moving back up to get things ready. The other two would follow. He made his way inside, and to a room.

A counter across it, it was a simple room. He spread a blanket across the top of it, she would be able to sit upon it so he could better access her feet and her wounds. He would need no equipment, and it might look odd that he was not using any. He waited for the other two, his mind on nothing else at the moment than healing her. As he had said, he would explain things to her here. If the other had questions as well, he could continue answering them as well.

Golden eyes fell on the man with lavender eyes. He was wearing gloves, and he was coming closer, too. Now she was outnumbered. Horrible memories flooded her and she stepped back again, putting space between her and the both of them.

The lavender-eyed man was right, in that now that she knew her delicate feet had been injured, they hurt. Especially when she walked. Her eyes moved from his, to the fruit, and back again, then between the pair. She was obviously wary.

The pale-haired one spoke of healing her, and Lyra wondered, if it could be true. Could he do something like that? Would he? At what cost? No one did favors for others for free. In her world, things were generally paid for in lives. Death, slavery, and also in weapons and beasts of war.

While she didn't believe this world was like hers. She remained wary, though would accept the help, curious about this world and the cost of escaping hers. She took steps to follow, stumbling in pain as she landed on one knee, still holding her silken dress in one hand, and now grass in the other.

She wanted to get there on her own, knowing that physical contact with another would show her things of their lives that weren't any of her business. In her world, she was often forced to touch others to know if their stories and informations were true or not. Lyra often saw horrific things in people's minds. She didn't want to touch anyone ever again. Not with her fingers or palms anyway.

Kurako hesitated, he didn't want to frighten the girl any more than she already was, but there was no way he could just stand there and let her walk while her feet were already so badly injured. The half elf watched as Solaris began to lead the way to the temple and the girl tried to follow. When she fell to one knee, Kurako moved, it didn't matter if she wanted his help or not, she was going to get it. The thief's heart was far to soft, at least for his own liking.

He dropped the offered piece of fruit and rather quickly scooped her up into his arms. "I won't harm you and I'm sure he won't either." The words were meant to be reassuring, but Kurako wasn't sure how reassuring they were. He didn't know about her power, or her ability, he only knew that she needed help and he was there. So he would help her, even if she refused it. His grip around her as he held her cradled against his chest, was firm but still gentle.

With her in his arms, he began to follow Solaris towards the temple, not taking his eyes off of the other male. He had left the map in that room with the tea and fruit, so it wouldn't do to lose sight of his guide right now.

As long as nothing happened, he would have her inside that temple and sitting on that counter ready to be tended to.

Lyra tried putting pressure on her foot to push herself back up, when she felt hands on her. She tensed immediately. When he lifted her, and spoke, Lyra was reassured. No one she'd ever known would say something like, 'We won't hurt you'. Everyone in her world intended on harming those around them, and that was well known by all. Lyra believed him, almost one-hundred percent.

As he picked her up, her fingers brushed against him and she saw an image of a beautiful girl, but she quickly clenched her fists. That was not her memory to see, but she certainly was glad that it hadn't been one of his worse memories, though she didn't know for sure if he had any bad ones. Once inside and sitting, Lyra was unsure of what to expect from a 'healing'. Golden eyes jumped between the pair, and she was clearly anxious.

Solaris did not waste time, once the female was seated upon the table. He moved to her, kneeling by her. He examined her feet, looking over the wounds there, as well as how far they went. His hands were kind and gentle, his movements slow as to not scare or harm her. He finally assessed the situation, lightly cupping her left foot into his hands. He closed his eyes for a moment, and a light lavander colored light would form around her foot. It was warm, creating a slight tingle in her foot though it did not hurt. Slowly the wounds began to heal, clearing away bit by bit. Once the left was done, he moved on to the right. They were both healed in a matter of minutes, and he smiled. Last thing was to clean off the blood and dirt left behind. He stood, looking up at her.

"I will find you some shoes to wear, though it is probably safe enough to walk around here without...you might enjoy them" he said to her. He then figured he should introduce himself and explain to her, as he had to the other. "My name is Solaris...this is the star temple, an escape and a place connected to the hearts of others" he could explain more later if she desired it, nodding to Kurako. "This is Kurako, he is a guest here, who arrived just before you" he said to her. He then looked to Kurako, "please stay with her for a few moments...I am sure she is nervous as you..perhaps it would be easier for her to speak to someone in a similar situation." He looked at the female, "you are safe here....no one will harm you." He did not know really why the words came from him, but they did without a second thought. Turning, he slipped from the room to obtain the shoes.

Kurako stood with his back to one of the walls, watching as Solaris tended to the girl. He was nibbling on pieces of fruit from his pocket as he watched their kind host heal the girl. He wondered what other things this man could heal, and he kept thinking about something else to. Ever since he had picked that girl up, another girl had come to the forefront of his memories, it caused a tightness in his chest and a pain in his heart he would rather not feel. He wasn't sure what caused this sudden turn in his train of thoughts, but it was there, lingering at the edges of his mind as he tried to push it away.

He blinked softly, as if coming from a dream when Solaris spoke his name, and he ran a hand through his hair. Stopping instantly once he realized what he was doing, but it was too late, his hair had moved to much to hide what he was. Well, it didn't matter, they were all stuck in this place together so it didn't matter. There were more important things than a person's race to consider here, he tucked those strands behind his ears and nodded slightly when Solaris asked him to stay with the girl. He remained where he was, leaning against that wall.

The half-elf pulled the last bits of fruit he had from his pocket and held them in the palm of his gloved hand, that hand outstretched towards the girl. "Here, if you're hungry. It's just fruit, sweet and juicy, more delicious than fruit I've had before." He would let her approach on her own.

Naturally, Lyra had involuntarily tried to pull her foot away. It was a subtle gesture though, and she fought it, letting Solaris examine it. Did it look bad down there? She hadn't examined them herself. They stung and throbbed, but generally things only hurt the most after you got a good look at them. She didn't want to see.

When the lavender colored light surrounded her foot, she watched with incredible interest. The light, was beautiful. The warmth was comforting. When it began to tingle, she wiggled her toes. What a strange power. A very helpful one though. This man would cost very much in her world. Almost as much as the oracle. She was glad in a way, that he wasn't from her world. To live as a prisoner in a world of violence and war, was not something she could see for such a gentle man.

She watched him talking, golden eyes moving to Kurako when he was introduced. Solaris disappeared from the room, and his words lingered in her mind. This place was an escape. An escape... Could that be possible?

Kurako spoke as golden eyes found him again against the wall. He held out the fruit but Lyra saw his ears. Another strange being unlike someone from her world. There were only humans in her world, and beasts created and bred for war, mutant-like creatures with a thirst for blood. Even some humans had evolved from the hundreds of years of war and torture and experimentation that they were giant-like, mutated monstrous beings.

Lyra slid from the table and padded over, close enough to look at his ears. She looked from them, to him again. He didn't look or seem like a mutant. Her eyes jumped then to his, and then the fruit and back. She took it slowly, studying it in her hand, before watching him warily again.

Kurako watched the girl almost intently, she had looked at his ears when he had moved his hair. He expected that, but she didn't seem sure of what he was, then she came closer to him and was looking at his ears. His body tensed slightly, and he would've backed up if he weren't already against the wall, but he remained calm. It seem liked she wasn't entirely sure of him, or what he was, and she didn't seem sure of the fruit when she plucked some from his hand.

He didn't say anything about his ears or what he was, because he wasn't sure why she seemed so uncertain or interested in looking at them. Did she not have elves or half elves in her world? He supposed it was a possibility, or maybe she just didn't like him because he was only part human? She wouldn't be the first. "Eat it, it's not dangerous, it's delicious." This girl didn't seem very talkative, but that was fine with him.

Lyra turned the fruit over in her hand, studying it. She just couldn't eat it. No matter how nice this place seemed, or how welcoming and helpful these people had been, she just couldn't trust any of it. Not yet. And that would be smart for anyone.

She held it out to Kurako. Lyra would drop it in his hand, as to not have to touch him. She couldn't explain herself. Not in words anyway. So she just wouldn't, for now. She wondered, would that bother the people here? Were there others here? Lyra walked to the door where she stood, clearly uncertain. She hadn't exactly been told to stay. Golden eyes looked from the outside, to Kurako. She wanted to go out, but was that allowed? She couldn't ask him.

Solaris walked along the hall, his mind on the two who were back in the room. He took a breath, looking up at the ceiling for a moment. He frowned, feeling a bit bad. They both seemed to come from hard worlds, perhaps it was good they had come here, so they could be safe now. He turned to look down a hall, his thoughts shifting to where he would find what he was looking for. It was not hard to find it, he knew his way around almost without having to think about it at all. He opened a cubbard in one of the rooms, smiling as he found a suitable pair that would help the woman's feet.

He wondered how the other two were fairing, being left alone. He hoped they were not panicing or hurting one another. He did not think they were, but he did not know for sure that they would get along. He sighed, turning to go back to the room, when what felt like a heartbeat pulsed in his head, a pain shooting through him. His vision swirrled, and he dropped the shoes. A hand going to his head, the other reaching out for anything to steady him. He fealt a hard wave of nausea hit him, and for a moment he stood there. What was that? He felt his body shaking a bit, as the wave passed almost as quickly as it had come. He slowly picked up the shoes.

He had been feeling weird since he had awoken. He could feel that the world was feeling off as well. How, he could not explain it in words. He was connected to it, perhaps this was why he was feeling these things? He pondered it, walking down the hall. Passing a window, he froze, looking out a bit. In the clear sky off to the distance, there was a dark cloud brewing. That was odd, there had never been clouds here..at least not like that. If it rained, the clouds were usually a light grey, they did not look black like that. It gave him a dark feeling, he would have to investigate it soon, but for now it was only a cloud...no need to worry....right?

Lune Astrea
Lune was born the only child to wealthy parents and had a rather sheltered life. It wasn't very long before it became apparent to Lune that her doting parents were trying to use her for some kind of political and wealth gain. An arranged marriage that had been decided before she had even been born. The politics of the rich are rarely simple, the rich always want to get richer, the political always want more power, that fact is simple. Though the means and great lengths that they go to, the tactics they employ are rather convoluted. Usually taking years before a fully formed plan even begins to come into fruition. Lune is apparently key to a plan her parents have. Their wealth has been dwindling for a little while now, and though still very wealthy, they aspire to be wealthier still. Their plan is to marry Lune off to the richest man in their city in order to acquire more wealth. A great dower in return for Lune's hand.

It wasn't fair and it wasn't right but there was nothing Lune could do. Two days until the preparations would be complete, two days until the plans were finalized, two days until the wedding. This wasn't something Lune wanted but she could not go against her family, she had to do this for her family even though all she wanted to do was run away from her fate. A pretty diamond ring glinted on the ring finger of her left hand, it sat on a delicate looking silver band. The engagement ring, it had been finally given to her a month ago, he had finally made things official by proposing and Lune could not tell him 'no'.

Lune had snuck out of her parents large house, and was running down the street, it was night, a full moon hung in the sky high above her but even if the moon wasn't full, the street lamps all light Lune's way. She was running towards the park, her favorite place to go when she wanted to be alone, when she wanted to cry. She did think of just continuing to run, but she wasn't strong enough for that, she couldn't escape on her own like that. She would be letting down her family. Her heart ached, and though she didn't want to betray her family she always felt as if they were betraying her. She stopped in front of the gate that was the park's entrance and blinked at it.

It looked different. Had the city put up a new one? That was probably it, and she hadn't been here for a few days, but there didn't seem to be any signs of construction to indicate it was fairly new. Lune shrugged and moved through the gate. When she came out the other side her eyes widened. This was not the park. This was not any place she had ever seen before. Lune took a few steps backwards, and turned. The gate was already disappearing. Disappearing? Things didn't disappear. Lune's hands were beginning to shake. How could a gate to the park take her somewhere that wasn't the park? And how could it just disappear like that? She clutched her hands to her flat chest, eyes wide and afraid.

Kurako suddenly felt like an idiot when she dropped the fruit back into his gloved hand, of course she wouldn't trust the food here, why should she? Though it was stupid, if one thought of it logically, at least in his opinion. Why go to all the trouble of helping her feet just to poison her later with fruit? It was how Kurako had thought of his own situation earlier when Solaris had given him the tea and fruit. Or maybe, she just didn't like him? Kurako pressed his back against the wall, as if he thought maybe he could disappear into it if he pressed hard enough. She was wary and she didn't like him, though maybe Kurako should stop making assumptions.

He finished off the remaining fruit in his hand and then wiped both gloved hands off on his pants. His lavender eyes never left her for more than a few seconds at a time and now she was standing by the door. She seemed to want something, the half-elf sighed softly, running a hand through his hair and tugging on one of his ears. Maybe the woman was to frightened to speak? Or maybe she just didn't like him. She did keep looking at him though. He shifted on his feet a bit, wishing Solaris would hurry and come back. He watched her intently for a moment. Did she want to go outside? Well probably she just wanted to get away from him.

Kurako crossed his arms over his chest. "I don't know what you want if you don't tell me. All I know is you don't like fruit apparently." He sounded slightly amused, not upset though he was already pretty convinced that her lack of communication was a combination of being suspicious of this place and a strong dislike of half-elves.

Lyra frowned. He wanted her tell him. Like, to talk? Well, she wouldn't. She couldn't. She looked out the door once more, before making a decision. Lyra crossed the floor to Kurako again and stood in front of him, thinking, for a moment that would more than likely make the man feel awkward. She was just watching him after all, silently.

Finally she reached her hand out. It hovered between them for a moment, as if she wanted to touch his face, but was unsure if she was allowed. Would he be angry? He did seem quite uncomfortable, though. Not exactly scowling or angry. Well, she took a chance then, and closed the rest of the space between his cheek and her soft hand.

She chose to send information rather than receive it. He would suddenly feel a great urge to walk outside and explore. He would want to feel the ground on his freshly healed bare feet, and the breeze in his hair. Surely he would understand that those were her feelings? If not, she could try harder to send an image of herself outside this room, though it would be hard considering she had never seen this place. The details would be all wrong.

Lyra removed her hand quickly after that, and stepped back, watching him with a curious look tinted with slight fear. She was not allowed to do that where she came from. But this place was different, right?

Kurako continued to watch her, and then she was approaching him. Had he upset her with his words? It didn't seem like it, and now she was reaching for him, his body tensed slightly, unsure of what her intentions were. She seemed rather hesitant herself, but then her hand touched his cheek and these feelings washed over him. They weren't his, and it had happened when she touched him. She was communicating with him at least, and he just stood there trying to sort through these things that had come over him. Grass beneath his feet, the wind in his hair. No he certainly hadn't been thinking of things like that until she touched him.

"Ed' i'ear ar' elenea!" By the sea and stars! It was an elven exclamation and one that slipped past his lips before he could stop it when she broke the contact, he didn't often say things in elven but this had surprised him greatly. He shook his head a bit as if to clear it, and shrugged. He uncrossed his arms from his chest and peered at her intently, running one of those hands through his hair. She seemed a little afraid of him now, but he just gave her a soft smile. "That's an interesting way of communicating." Kurako shrugged again. "But if you wanted to go outside, why haven't you just gone outside?" It was rather simple to the half-elf, if he wanted to go outside, he'd just go do it, so why hadn't she? Maybe she wanted him to come with her, but Kurako doubted that possibility greatly.

She jumped slightly at his exclamation as she held onto her own hand in anticipation. He gave her a gentle smile though, and Lyra relaxed some. She frowned at his question though. She hadn't been told to do anything, or not to do anything, of course. She was in a strange limbo having received no orders, and it made her uncomfortable. As if it were some sort of trap. No matter what she did she would be in trouble.

Lyra didn't believe that would happen here, but she wouldn't put the idea out of her mind completely. She didn't know this place, and she certainly didn't know these people. She looked pained though, once he asked that question. She wanted to show him why, though reliving the memories in her own mind was hard. Still, she should ask, lest she end up in the same position as before.

Once again she stepped forward with her hand outstretched. Her eyes were asking if it was okay this time. When her hand finally made gentle contact with his cheek, he felt a mix of emotion, as well as saw visual clips of memories this time. First he would see a large room. The room was beautiful, for the world she came from. It was decorated in gold and plush pillows. The white granite floors glistened under the torches and candles that lit the room. Women and men lounged lazily around the room, decorated in expensive gold jewelry and make-ups wearing little to nothing.

He was seeing the memory through Lyra's eyes. She sat beside someone, though on the floor. He sat in a golden throne of sorts, but Kurako couldn't see him. Lyra didn't look at the man on the throne. Instead she looked ahead at the man being dragged inside by two large armored guards. They explained that the man, a servant there, had looked upon a vase in the hall. Of course, the man had not been told to stop his work to view the piece, and now he would be punished. The man was drug from the room.

Such a simple and harmless act, yet not allowed. Wandering, exploring, stopping, looking; all things not allowed of the servants in her world. Lyra sent feelings of happiness and freedom and the want of those things, immediately followed by the fear of punishment and the stomach turning horror of its promise. She sent then an image of the same man, many days later, wasting away in a cell, bloodied, broken, naked and starving, chained to the floor mere inches from a cup of water.

Then she re-sent the want to go outside, immediately followed by that of the fear of punishment again. A millisecond of an image flitted through his mind of a man, the man from the throne, towering over Lyra as she trembled. But she removed her hand quickly, not intending him to see those memories. Lyra had seemed to shrink in on herself during the communication, and she gave an involuntary shiver.

He watched her, almost expecting her to just shrug at him and run out the door. She didn't, instead she approached him again. This time when she held her hand up to him, he tilted his head towards it slightly. Allowing her to once again touch him, he didn't mind at all, it was a very unique way of communicating though talking seemed more convenient. Feelings washed over him and he was seeing things that he had never seen before. A lush room people were lounging in the room. To Kurako it looked much like a harem in the desert countries of his world. The half-elf was still, letting the woman show him the things of her world.

His lips parted slightly but Kurako was silent, a man got punished for merely looking at something? How barbaric. Then the feelings of wanting freedom slipped over him, followed by the fear and horror of punishment. It was hard not to get lost in those feelings, they were almost overwhelming to the half-elf. He had never experienced a fear like that before, his only fear was killing everyone and everything he loved. This was different though.

That man, poor man chained up and wasting away all because he had looked at something. There it was again though, that feeling of wanting to go outside, but then there was that fear He was glad when she pulled away, broke the contact, but just before he had glimpsed a man towering over her and she had been trembling. Kurako was trembling now. "Ed' i'ear ar' elenea!" He repeated his earlier exclamation but it was just a whisper now.

He looked down at his hands, they were shaking, but the fear was gone and he inhaled deeply with a shaky breath. "What a horrible place." He ran a hand through his hair again and moved from the wall, getting his own trembling under control rather quickly. "This place isn't like the place you come from. If you want to go outside, then go. No one will punish you for doing things here, and if anyone tries, well, I won't let them." He moved towards the door. The truth was Kurako didn't really know too much about what this place was like. Only that Solaris was a gentle host and that apparently those who came here were running from things.

A person can't run from themselves though. Kurako stepped through the door and looked over his shoulder to see if she would join him.

Golden eyes watched Kurako with wonder. He wouldn't let anyone, punish her? That was, strange. In her world, no one stood up for another. No matter how much they wanted to, they didn't. They didn't say a word, and they certainly didn't take action. It would mean their death. She had heard of some who had tried, wanting a way out. But the rulers of her world would never let death come so quickly or easily.

That someone wanted to protect another, and that they said it aloud, was something amazing to Lyra. If he actually stood by his word, Lyra wouldn't even know how to handle it. But, if he spoke truth, she had nothing to worry about anyway right? Right. With a deep breath, Lyra stepped out the door behind him. For a moment, she watched him warily, as if suspecting it may have been some kind of trick.

He was about to head back, about to take the shoes to the woman, when a feeling made him stop. His eyes closed for a moment, and he knew the gate had opened again. He could tell there was another here, a third now. His hand went to the amulet over to his heart. On the stone, another star like light would appear. He made his way out to the front, moving his eyes to where the gate was vanishing. There was what seemed to be a girl there. A girl in a dress, who looked afraid. He moved to the stairs, slowly making her way to the top of them, then down them.

"Hello...welcome to the temple" he said, "my name is Solaris....you do not have to be afraid, you will not be harmed here." He gave her a warm smile. He felt something slightly off, but for now he pushed the thought out of his head. There was nothing for her to fear her, but he did not wish to pressure her. He stopped a few feet from her, letting her take in him and the appearance of this place. He hoped the others would not mind him being a little bit slow, he had to take care of the new guest. He wondered as he had with the others, where she came from. What kind of world? What kind of home? He did not allow his smile to faulter, once more trying to clear his head of things that were bubbling up inside of them,

Lune was still staring where the gate had been as it finished vanishing. How? Something like that it wasn't possible. Things didn't just vanish or take you somewhere completely alien. She didn't really notice the other as he approached her, but when he spoke, she jumped and gave a little squeak of surprise. Her hands had been clasped together in front of her small chest, now they both pressed against it, as if her heart was fluttering so hard it might burst from her chest if she didn't hold it in. Her hands were shaking and her eyes were wide as she looked upon the male.

One of those shaking hands moved, pointing to where the gate had been. "It...It disappeared." Her voice was soft and gentle, very feminine, the kind of voice you would imagine from a girl that looked like her, but also frightened. She seemed to be at a loss for what else to say, still just pointing at that empty space and looking at him with wide eyes. There was no logical explanation for something like that, not to mention the fact that she was in a completely different place. Where was the park? Had this person somehow, moved it? Replaced it with this place? None of that would make any sense either though.

When the woman stepped out behind him, Kurako stepped to the side a bit so she could pass him. He wasn't sure she would walk ahead of him though, not with how warily she watched him. Given the things she had showed him, he really couldn't blame her. The half-elf gave her a nod of encouragement and a soft smile, he resisted the urge to put his gloved hands in his pockets. It might just make her more nervous if she couldn't see them anymore. "Maybe we should look for Solaris?" He said it rather thoughtfully, now that he thought about it, the other had been gone a fair amount of time. Maybe the man had gotten lost? Somehow Kurako doubted that. Something must have distracted the other, the half-elf had expected him back by now.

He would leave up to the woman though, if she wanted to go look for Solaris or just play in the grass. Kurako wouldn't move until she did, letting her take the lead in whatever they did. She might like that kind of freedom, or it might frighten her worse than captivity. He didn't know, so he was trying to take things slow and easy, let them go at whatever pace she sat for them.

Solaris watched the girl. Like the others, she seemed uncertain and afraid. It was a common feeling he supposed when one suddenly found themselves in a new world. His eyes moved to where she was pointing, before back at her. He nodded, "the gate brings those here who are looking for an escape....this is that escape you could say." He let her take that in for a moment. "This is the star temple, it is connected to various worlds, dimensions, planes, times...everything.." he looked back from where he had come, "it is connected to people's hearts, and was created from such.."

He gave her a warm smile, "you do not have to worry, you will not be harmed here. You are safe and can relax." He kept saying that. He kept telling the people that there was nothing to fear here, but...something felt off. Something was different now than it had been, so he felt unsure and like a knot was growing inside of him every time he spoke those words. He sighed lightly, before he motioned lightly to the temple. "There are two others here...would you like to meet them? They are waiting for me....If you are hungry or something, there is plenty here to partake in." He was unsure what she would prefer to do, but he was giving her options and leaving it up to her to try and make her feel even a little more comfortable and in control.

He hadn't struck her or ordered her death or anything, so that was a good sign. Lyra relaxed visibly. Golden eyes danced over the hall in one direction, and then the other, when he spoke of Solaris. The man really had been gone a while.

Kurako wanted to look for him, so they would. Lyra wouldn't know the first thing about making a decision for herself, and she'd certainly be uncomfortable without instruction, and guidance, at least. Though that would surely wear off over time. So Lyra took steps back in the direction they had come from initially.

There was no guarantee they'd find Solaris this way, for all Lyra knew he'd gone the opposite direction. But Kurako would stop her if he thought she was going the wrong way, right? Lyra became so unsure of her actions, that she stopped again. She watched Kurako sadly.

"But I was on my way to the park." Lune's brow furrowed, she was certainly confused and still rather afraid. Things did not just disappear like that, nor did they transport you to somewhere completely strange like that. "It's not possible. Something like that, a disappearing gate, a place connected to other worlds." She was clutching both hands in front of her now, pressed against her chest and wringing those hands a bit. "What do you mean, other worlds?" Was she on another planet? That was impossible, there weren't any other planets that could sustain life, not human life. Not the way the Earth did.

"Are..Are you a space alien? Have you abducted me?" She looked absolutely terrified or horrified at such a thought. Was he going to experiment on her? Probe her the way aliens did in the stories? What if he wanted to eat her? Had he brought her to his strange alien planet? That one seemed rather likely, this place was different and certainly not the park she had been about to enter. Or maybe this was an elaborate kidnapping scheme to get at her family's wealth? "Have you kidnapped me for money? I'm sure my family would pay any ransom you wanted, as long as I remain unharmed." Yes, that was the scenario that was most logical, the one that made the most sense in her mind. Aliens weren't real, but still, how to explain the vanishing gate? Some type of trick with mirrors, maybe.

"Return me at once and I'll give you whatever amount of money you want, and I won't even get the police involved." She had a feeling he wasn't going to take her home. Though home wasn't really a place she wanted to return to, still. In a situation like this, she acted the way she was expected to. It wasn't just worlds though, he had said it was connected to different times as well and planes. Like different planes of existence maybe, but those things. Those things were impossible. He said there were others here, and that made her wonder, how many people did this guy kidnap? Or maybe, they were his partners in crime.

Kurako was content to follow the silent woman in whatever direction she wanted to go in. He didn't know where he was going either, he had foolishly left his map back in that room at the bottom of the tower, with the tea and books. When she stopped and watched him with a sad expression, Kurako shrugged and offered a reassuring smile. "Just..go wherever you want. It's not like I know my way around this place either, I forgot to bring the map..so just go in whatever direction you're heart points you in. We'll probably run into Sol sooner or later."

The half-elf didn't seem to concerned or worried. In fact he wasn't, what was there to be worried about? So far this place was quiet and peaceful, and the two people he had met didn't care what he was. Well he was sure Solaris didn't care, he still wasn't quite sure about the silent woman. He knew why she was silent though, or rather, he knew how she communicated now, but for all he knew she probably didn't like him much at all. "I said I'd protect you, didn't I? I won't go back on my word. So go ahead, do whatever you want."

He listened to her and watched. He felt bad that she was so scared, but he figured there was little he could do at the moment. He did not want to rush it or push her. He could not help but smile and chuckle a bit when she asked him if he was a space alien. He shook his head, at both that and her offer. "I am no alien....and I am not going to hurt you" he said, "I do not want money or anything from you....you are not here because anyone forced you. You are here of your own will...you wanted to escape." He looked at her again, "as soon as you find what you are looking for, you are free to go..." Again, something tugged inside of him.

He pushed it away. He took a breath, "you are free to take this as slowly as you like....the temple is open and there are others here....if you desire we will be there. There is no going back however, now that you are here, the only way is forward..." He had said that to the other, the male plenty of times. He had said that a person could not run from themselves. While that was true, it was never merely that simple. "I am sure you would feel better after a cup of tea.." once more he tried to offer her something, a peace offering, something to help her calm and show he was not her enemy or trying to hurt her. He had a feeling, and it had shown so far, that in her fear she was not really fully listening to him. He was not going to force himself closer either, staying back a bit from her to give her her space.

Lyra looked up and down the hall again. Was it really so simple? Just doing whatever one wanted? She'd never been able to take someone on their word. Not in her world. Words didn't mean anything there. They often times weren't even allowed. The rulers of her world said lots of words. Though they were usually full of lies and deceit.

She felt that while the physical chains were gone, she was very much emotionally bound to the rituals and habits of her world. Unable to make choices and decisions for herself, and afraid of everything. Then he was saying that thing again, about protecting her. She watched him with a different expression now. Golden eyes danced over his face in wonder. She, believed him. Trusted him even.

That thought, Lyra found, was liberating. Minimal as it was, it was certainly progress. She nodded a light, almost unnoticeable nod, and continued down the hall. Every few steps, Lyra would glance at him. Maybe checking to be sure he wasn't planning something sneaky. Maybe just checking that he was still there, or searching for encouragement or approval.

Her glances became farther and farther apart, until Lyra quit glancing at him all together. She'd cast quick glances at the decorative arts in the halls before returning her eyes to her toes or Kurako. But even those actions faded, and by the time the pair reached the outdoors, Lyra had seen almost every detail of every piece, even touched some of them.

When she finally stepped outside, Lyra turned back to Kurako with brighter eyes than she'd had since being here. There was an eagerness and even a subtle joy in her features now, though they would be almost unnoticeable if one wasn't really watching. Golden eyes danced over the temple grounds in search of Solaris.

He said he wasn't a space alien and he said he didn't want money, then why bring her here? "But the gate disappeared! Things don't disappear or transport people to other worlds. That only happens in books and movies, it isn't real." She had stamped a foot lightly, she was normally so timid and shy, but this was not a normal situation. Something he said made Lune stop though, and blink at him. He had said it twice now. That this was an escape. An escape.

"Escape?" Could she escape her fate in a strange place like this? Perhaps for now it would be best to go along, but she still couldn't quite understand all of what was happening. "When I find what I'm looking for..?" Her eyes widened a little bit and she clutched her hands tighter and pressed them harder to her chest. "I'm looking for myself, and running from the fate my parents have set for me. Can I really do that here? Can I really be free of them and find out who I truly am? I could find the real me, the one hidden and buried beneath layers of expectations and propriety?" But those things. That sounded to good to be true, and that gate had vanished.

Somehow, she just couldn't get over the fact that an object had disappeared into thin air. "Is this place, magic?" Magic wasn't real though, it only existed in fairy tales. "Is magic real?" Also, how did he know she was looking for an escape and searching for something? How could a place be connected to someone's heart? It was all either some kind of elaborate trick or magic. But magic wasn't real. "I don't understand any of this, at all." He had also said she couldn't go back, did that mean she would never see her family again? Lune was afraid to ask.

Kurako watched the woman with hints of amusement on his face and nothing more. Every time she looked at him, he would either shrug or just give her an encouraging smile. He was silent, his footfalls light and quiet behind her as he let her lead them along. For a while she seemed to uncertain to really look at anything, but as they moved, she seemed to get more comfortable with her surroundings and perhaps even with him. Finally they were outside, and Kurako inhaled deeply.

She was looking at him again, but her eyes seemed brighter. That was a good sign, he shrugged. "That wasn't so bad was it? Well, keep on doing whatever you want. I won't be far behind." His lavender eyes were scanning the area now though, thinking maybe if another person had arrived, that would certainly be something Solaris couldn't ignore and would explain his lateness. There, in the distance but not too far away was two figures, one was most likely Solaris and the other a new guest.

"I think Sol is over there, with another guest." He pointed with a gloved hand in the direction, then that hand dropped and he shrugged. "We don't have to go see them, unless you want to. So, do whatever you want."
