Wasn't the phrase "iron curtain" originally coined by Ethel Snowden in her book Bolshevik Russia? Joseph Goebbels used the term during WWII also describing Russia. I know Lutz Graf Schwerin von Krosigk was the first one to use it as it pertained to the climate after WWII. But then again, it really didn't get widely used until after Winston Churchill used it during his peace address. So which answer were you looking for?
