OPI and Essie, in particular. I'm also fond of Zoya's newest, but won't be able to get my hands on any of the other major brands.

Wow! Your nails is so pretty! I am never into nail polish and since my school does not allow it. -___-" and I am never good in applying it. Huhuhu.

@ pon: Wow! That seems really strict!

I think I'm going to put on some crackle polish today...

I would find a different school if my school had tried to tell me I couldn't wear polish. Not even joking. That's a place I don't want to be.

I wasn't allowed to wear nail polish at school either. Clear was fine though. But I understand since we were in Uniform.

And I still don't know the name of the nail polish that I am wearing. It's Essie.. it's like a red/brown/berry colour.
Hm, I found one.. it's called In Stitches.. I think that's it.

That's a beautiful color, Luna. I haven't had a shade like that since I was a little girl...I might have to look into that one.

I have generally pretty f'ed up nails, so clear polish wouldn't cut it for me. I'd have to go somewhere that let me use colored polish.

I need help gals! Should I paint my nails two tone with half of the nail light grey and the other half dark grey or white crackle over a black base? I can't decide!

I don't know.

But I'm going to my cousin's wedding this weekend, and my toes will be OPI Vampsterdam, and the fingers will be done in gel with OPI Passion.

I'm thinking of possibly doing a bit of a lace design, kind of like this, but only on the ring fingers. Or the index fingers. I still haven't decided.

I really like the lace designs I've seen but haven't tried to do it myself. I really hope you share a picture with us! I bet they'll look amazing

Thanks, zig! Yours is really cool, I've always wanted to use that staff in an avatar.
And you may have already chosen, but the Light Grey/Dark Grey sounds interesting, would love to see how you do it.

That lace design is lovely! Is that with an image plate, maybe?

Thank you. ^_^

I definitely will try it, even if I don't do that design right away. I'll definitely share a picture of it when I do.

I'm thinking of filing my nails down short since I'll be moving soon and I don't want them to break...

Maybe it is an image plate. I don't know. But I'm going to look for stickers or something to use.

And forget Vampsterdam. It turned out to be more aubergine, rather than the purple I thought it was.

BUT.

OPI's "Honk If You Love OPI" is the PERFECT fall purple, almost a duplicate for Zoya's "Monica", which I fell in love with the second I set my eyes on it.

Now I have that on my toes, with the second toe as an accent nail in OPI "Brisbane Bronze"

I'm going to do those two colors again in gel for Thanksgiving.

I've seen the lave designs hand painted but I've also seen ones that look like they might have been plates. One of these days I will get brave and try it freehand myself, even if only on one finger. ^^;

I'm starting to get brave with patterns. I need Scotch tape to do this properly, right now I'm using a ripped up Post-It But once I have some tape I intend to do all my nails like this! This is just the thumb done

I'm going to try a gradient on all my nails first though, as it looks a whole lot simpler, and I love the affect :D

Jelly, I like that Sally Hansen glitter! If it comes in some other colors, I might just have to pick some up.

I don't usually paint my nails much. But I have about 14 or so bottles of nail polish at the moment, so I might start painting my nails more often. I can finally paint them again , I couldn't for a while because I had an entire nail break off. My nails break way too easily, I have to keep them rather short. Anyone know of a good way to strengthen nails?

Knerd: It is only the big bits that are the Sally Hansen, I have to use it with a finer glitter too, or it looks dumb. There's not a lot of glitter:polish, either. I'd only get it if you see it really, really cheap I had to put a lot of it on to get the amount of big pieces that are on my nail.

Ah, that's a pain then! I'll just have to keep my eyes open for a sale. I'll pick it up if I get the chance, though, because a little sparkle is always fun.

I remember getting star shaped glitter once. I was lucky if I got even one star per nail. >.<

Yeah, I've seen people on Poupee Girl say the same about large glitter. It's really difficult to get out of the bottle, even!

That's so true.

I redid my nails last night with a sandy colored base with a fleck sparkle overcoat and it actually came out looking like an opalescent pink! Here's a photo, I really like how they turned out:

That picture is amazing. If my nails didn't break all over the place, I would do that.

Then again, it'd probably look kinda weird on me. So I guess I'll just have to admire it in that photo.

I'd never seen matte nail polish before, but I love the concept. Though as far as really simple but nice ideas go, I'm still fond of black crackle nail polish over something iridescent and metallic, kinda like this:

The iridescent effect is probably only due to the lighting, but at least it's enough to suggest what I mean? It's the best I could find on Google Images. D:

That also looks really weird on me, though. In fact, nail art in general does, no matter how simple or complicated. But I do enjoy admiring it on other people.
