yeah! halloween is my fav event and i cant wait!

Halloween's also my favorite event! I've always loved posting like crazy and dressing up for the occasion. (on Mene, that is...not much opportunity for dressing up in real life )

I dress up irl too, just for fun. I don't trick or treat or anything. We live so far in the country, we don't even get trick or treaters.

It's a big hassle to dress up here...I don't have the materials necessary and my family would just think I'm crazy or doing something pointless and 'wasting my time and money'.

The only people who actually do dress up and go trick or treating are probably kindergartners and stuff, where they have events for fun and to placate the parents and such.

It also depends on what area you live in, I guess. I do not live in an area that has fun stuff for adults, much to my displeasure.

Same, though it's the entire country. :( Halloween are for very like, aged 12 and below kiddies only.

thats so sad! i love halloween, we decorated out house and gave out candies and got all dressed up. it was lots of fun

I went to a comic con on Halloween weekend. It was a blast!

I think most places, there's the stigma that Halloween is only for little kids. :(

I remember when I was about 15 years old, all of my friends were like, "You're too old to trick or treat" and I was so sad... But I went anyway. I believe that the people passing out candy looked at me strangely, but they gave me candy anyway.

Now that I'm 23, I definitely don't trick or treat anymore. :( But I find other ways of "celebrating" Halloween. :)

I heard from my mom who lives in the states that people where she lives doesn't do trick or treating anymore either, something about it being unsafe?

I guess trick or treating as an adult would be a little too strange for most people, but at least you could still dress up without people looking at you like you're crazy?

Yeah... There was mass hysteria over an incident that happened maybe once or twice in
Halloween history... Where someone put razorblades in apples and gave them to children... There was also someone who gave kids their Xanax pills and passed them off as candy.

Also there was a "clown scare" two years ago here, where people were dressing up as scary clowns and frightening children and just in general... being really creepy. :(

There's less and less kids trick or treating each year. :(

It's more likely parents are taking their kids to the shopping centers to "trick or treat" there, or they are just going to Halloween parties at community centers, where it's less likely to find a razorblade or dangerous medicine in the candy

I read a news story where 2 parents in Oregon were sickened after eating some sour patch kids that their kid had gotten for Halloween. The candy had been laced with methamphetamine!
There was an earlier story about a 5 year old that had a seizure and tested positive for meth... The dad tried to blame candy or plastic vampire teeth the child had recieve at a Halloween celebration, but after an investigation, the candy was cleared and dad was arrested for having meth and other drugs in his home.
Scary stuff!! ...but not the kind of "scary stuff" Halloween is supposed to be full of!
When I was a kid...50+ years ago...there was the razor blade in the apple scare...and when my kids were young there was a needles in the apples scare.
The local hospitals used to offer to xray the kids' candy...I don't know if they still do that, but x-rays wouldn't detect meth in the candy!

Wow, that's just nasty. Never fails to amaze me how assholish some people can be.

that is so messed up. if you dont like halloween, just turn out your lights and let the kids have fun without you. no need to kill people. seriously.

I have a feeling if Halloween were a thing here there'd be people who do that to the candies too...and there are so many screw-y people out there, like the person who put needles inside the bus cushions in China or the person who put needles into strawberries in Australia...

i have no idea who thinks its a good idea to hide things in peoples food. thats not ok. i dont care what your intentions are, not cool. like does any of those people stop and think "what if my [insert relative here] ate something like this, would it still be ok?"

I always envy the ones who can use the Phoenix mask and related items on their avatar! I always have trouble getting them to look natural on my avatar.

Some people just have no empathy at all. Or they're just dicks who don't care about others who takes pleasure in other people's pain and fears.

I guess. D: I really want to use stuff like the Cloak of Nature or the Pudao of Time more, but I have trouble getting them to work with avatars so I tend to go with other items. It's a shame since they're really nice items.
