Yeah. Just like how I had with engineering. They wanted 15+ years of experience and I was legally incapable of that kind of experience level, as I'd have been 9 years old when I started. Luckily with this field is that they can't really be all that picky because pharmacy techs are in high demand.

Poet, yeah, the expectations they have for certain fields drives me nuts. People have to start somewhere and it takes just one company to give you the chance. I've told most managers when I start, give me one month. Two weeks to learn the product and get a routine down and the next two weeks to show you just what I can do. Typically managers have responded favorable to my proposal and I retain my position after the probation period. I'm no dummy.

That's pretty much what my externship is. You go straight into the field and after 200 hours they either hire you or let you go with the experience you gained. It allows companies not hiring to train people too.

Which is just smart, Poet. Companies that don't want to hire, but need help during a crush get the assistance and the person gets the necessary experience for the next job. 200 hours is a decent amount of time.

200 hours is quite a bit. 5 weeks of full-time work if I remember right. I just hope I get people patient enough. I've been working with demo products for a while, and breaking that habit and replacing it with proper pills is difficult.
