Shadami: I think before you have a child, you MUST watch Rocky Horror! Because after he/she is born, you may not have the time

I actually watch a lot of 30s/40s/50s movies. Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Ingrid Bergman and Dorris Day were a few I knew from a young and of course Abbott and Costello!

Gone With The Wind is my all-time favorite movie. I like old movies too. I watched one recently about Shangri-La, but I can't remember what it was called. From the 30's, I believe...

Also I don't think Zelda was based off of the movie Legend. I may have misunderstood and you said Legend was based off of Zelda. I did find though what inspired Zelda -

Quote:
Inspiration
The Legend of Zelda was principally inspired by Shigeru Miyamoto's explorations as a young boy in the hillsides surrounding his childhood home in Sonobe, Japan where he ventured into forests with secluded lakes, caves, and rural villages. According to Miyamoto, one of his most memorable experiences was the discovery of a cave entrance in the middle of the woods. After some hesitation, he apprehensively entered the cave, and explored its depths with the aid of a lantern. Miyamoto has referred to the creation of the Zelda games as an attempt to bring to life a "miniature garden" for players to play with in each game of the series.[19]
Hearing of American novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife Zelda, Miyamoto thought the name sounded "pleasant and significant".[20] Paying tribute, he chose to name the princess after her, and titled his creation The Legend of Zelda.

I have to admit I hate Gone With the Wind, but I love the acting. I once watched it three times in a row to see if I liked it or not and found I can't stand the movie. Well more correctly the character/story.

Some of my all time favorites are Notorious (1946) directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Spellbound (1945) directed by Alfred Hitchcock, King Kong (1933) co-directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, and Death Takes a Holiday (1934) directed by Mitchell Leisen, An Affair to Remember (1957) directed by Leo McCarey.

I think they're all worth it just to watch Captain Jack do his thing and watch him run like a sassy gay pirate. Oh god sorry, I just laughed at myself.

The way he runs. That mental image should be a joke all on its own.
