Yeah. I bought another ticket today just because my Nana was talking about it with me. I had to get gas so I popped in and got one. Still not expecting to win, but you never know. If I do win, I can buy Nana a new couch. She doesn't like the current new couch she has.

Hey Bearzy. If singleness will bother you, I suggest hanging out with an equally single friend and doing something fun. If it doesn't bother you, I suggest just spoiling yourself. Mini-spa day or something. Also, hang out with us on Mene

Ehh, it doesn't bother me so much except for just generally being a bit weird and different.

I haven't been single for Valentine's much in the last few years, but I ended up realizing I wasn't really romantically interested in people, so I decided not to date anymore. I'm still friends with the person, though. They were really nice and cool about everything.

Weird and different can be fun Bearzy. Embrace it! Embrace the weirdness!

Hey again dapperlace. Cookie just never dates because Cookie is not interested either. I have always been single on Valentine's day and never had a problem with it. I'm just weird like that I guess. Lucky though, because I prefer it that way. As I said, I just don't understand people who NEED to be dating someone or else their world collapses

Yes. Unfortunately, I didn't win that giant lottery, so I still cannot afford to go. I get my taxes back soon, but that would not cover even half of a trip. *sobs*
It's time to move on, Cookie! We can't keep doing this on and off thing!

We could, if I actually kept up with the thread game. It's a shame that more people don't want to join in so we have more variety!

Yeah. I go through phases. I'll go through and reply to all my favorites for a while until I get lazy and stop.

I totally understand what you mean.

I feel like people that are that desperate to be in a relationship are probably not ready to be in one in the first place. Co-dependence is unhealthy for the co-dependent person, and stressful for the person being depended on.

People that shay they're miserable during this time of year confuse me. I get that feelings of loneliness can surface, but there's nothing wrong with being single.

Because love is a drug. That's why. Being in a relationship can give a sense of security, companionship...and when you lose it, it hurts. You want that feeling again. For some people, it's easier to have someone there. They might go back with their ex soon after breaking up. They might get into a rebound relationship. It can be hard to just quit cold turkey.

I guess that is true. Someone I know had a really tough time with their break-up. However, it was the person who already had some co-dependent tendencies in general. My ex was a bit bummed, but didn't take it nearly as hard, and made a point to not behave the way the co-dependent person did with their break-up.

I think that may be true for people who have already been in relationships. But there also seem to be a lot of young people out there who just haven't had any actual relationship experience who are just so desperate for one. I have a friend like that. She's never really dated, but feels incomplete as a person or something without someone. Like, slow down child. Learn about yourself before you become the other half of someone else!

Oh ho ho ho. Don't tempt me hummy! *huggles*

I know what you mean.

Cookie, I knew someone who did end up in a relationship just because he needed one. Didn't last very long. And then he ended up in another one. That lasted two and a half years, but it ended too because it was half dead to begin with

Some relationships are just baffling. Like, on the one hand you have all of these people desperate to be in relationships, but aren't and then you have these people that have nothing to offer someone in a relationship, but get in and out of them like crazy.

My friend's morbidly obese brother had a new girlfriend every few months. I feel like he preyed on the girls desperate to be in a relationship and with low self esteem, so they couldn't find a better guy. This guy was a useless know it all asshole slob, but he had so many ex-girlfriends. And once he had them, he'd let them pay for him and support him and ugh. It was pretty awful. Last she told me, he'd exacerbated his health problems to the point where he needs a damn pacemaker and a heart transplant and he found another girl to suck the money and life out of. Some people are just gross.

Yeah. Just another mystery of humans and their need for companionship and their ability to be shitty to each other.

You're welcome.

I made strawberry gooey bars for work. I usually call them sugar crack bars, because everyone goes crazy over them, but it's essentially a lot of bad for you sugar
